History: Owner Surrender She used to live with two small kids and very busy family. With a recent medical diagnosis in the family, it was decided that they didn't have the time Gabby needed for a happy life. I used to dog sit for Gabby and have taken her in and am now trying to find this sweet girl a new home where she can be exercised and cared for properly. She's very sweet and friendly (loves a bellyrub), but needs some help learning comands (like not to jump when people come in the door). She has shown some alpha tendenices, but when I've seen it (such as with my own dog), once the pecking order is established, the dogs are great together.

Description

Meet Gabby!

This sweet and goofy girl is looking for a new home. She is a three-year old German Shepherd mix and weighs about 55 pounds. Gabby is affectionate, energetic, house- and crate-trained, and will be a fantastic protector for her new home. She walks well on the leash and would love to live with a runner or someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. She is quite the people dog, so be prepared for her to join you wherever you are in the house.

Gabby would do best in a home with a yard – she loves to run around and chew sticks. She would thrive with a single person or couple who has lots of energy and love to give this great girl. She would also be a great addition to a family with older children. She gets along with most dogs, but hasn’t yet met a cat. If you have another dog, it would be best to have them meet to ensure they’ll get along. Gabby knows several commands, but could use a refresher course on general good dog behavior (such as, not to eat an entire jar of peanut butter off the counter!)

Gabby’s former family was no longer able to care for her, so she’s looking for a kind person or family who will watch her grow from her puppy years into a happy and healthy young lady.

She’s spayed, has been microchipped, and is up-to-date on vaccinations and medications. If you’re interested in meeting Gabby or have any questions about this great dog, please call Miriam at 267-664-2817 or email mic117@pitt.edu

**when Gabby is adopted, and if it from this posting, I would like a donation made to MAGSR, for all their great work**
