Description

Candi has been on the loose for approximately 4 years after she got loose from her family.  Candi came to MAGSR after MAGSR volunteers tracked her and captured her.  Candi is understandably confused, skittish and very lucky!  Since Candi has lived on the run for so many years, she will be considered a flight risk until MAGSR volunteers have time to work with her.  Since her capture, Candi is doing well, but timid - little does she know that he is on her way, through MAGSR, to a new life.  Please check back for updates on Candi as MAGSR gets to know her over the next couple of weeks.

Updates

Candi has been with us just over for a week now and we have learned a lot about her this week. She was actually out on her own for about 4 1/2 years. However, she has a sweet, gentle nature and likes other dogs. Though she is timid, she is learning that human contact is a good thing and is responding very well to us. She will climb in your lap, will take treats and is settling in nicely at the kennel where she currently resides. She will be a flight risk for some time to come and this cannot be overstated at this time. But on leash, she's willing to go where you request of her. Oddly enough, though she has been on her own for several years, she is showing signs of being house broken as she keeps her kennel run very clean. She would do well in a home with a well balanced dog that she can learn from. She will not get any bigger than what she is now at 25.5lbs. Though she is not your typical big, formidable looking shepherd, she has a lot of heart. She's a tough dog that made it through a lot of tough times and she deserves a family that will commit to her keeping her safe and loving her for the rest of her life.
