Frankie is a wonderful 8-month-old German Shepherd mix with a curious nature and a love for people of all ages, including children. He gets along well with both resident MAGSR dogs and enjoys being part of a family.
As a young pup, Frankie has plenty of puppy energy and loves to play, explore, and stay active. He will benefit from a family committed to providing regular exercise, continued training, and plenty of mental stimulation. After an active day, he is happy to settle down and relax.
Frankie is house-trained and crate-trained. He sleeps soundly in his crate and isn’t bothered by thunderstorms or fireworks. Like many curious puppies, Frankie is interested in rabbits and may chase if they run, so continued supervision is important.
Frankie is a sweet, confident puppy who is ready to continue learning and growing as part of a loving family.

Hershey is one of the 8 Campfire puppies, who were named through a contest with our beloved donors. These adorable siblings have been growing so well and have, of course, maintained some very typical puppy behaviors. They are active, intelligent, and very good with other animals. With a good understanding of toys, treats, and a soft place to relax, all the babies have been lucky to stay together with mom and each other during the neonatal and transitional stage. Still developing their socialization skills, these boys and gal will need endless opportunities to socialize with people and other animals in safe and controlled settings. Socialization is critical to their success as this will help them develop into stable adult dogs.
Although these babies are cute as can be, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. Giving them the time, training, patience, and leadership they need, we know that the siblings are destined for greatness. Each of these amazing babies are looking for a household that will provide them with a good balance of training, playtime, and cuddles. If one of these cute little babies sounds like the right match for your family, get your application in today so that you can meet them as soon as they're ready to go home!

Cleo Grace’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter, carrying the weight of a difficult past. Her ears tell part of her story—one bears the scars of chronic infection, and the other shows signs of fly strikes. But while her body carries reminders of hardship, her heart is ready for healing.
Cleo Grace is like a little seed waiting to blossom. At first, she can be shy and unsure, but once she feels safe, she leans in close and buries her head into her handler’s chest—her way of saying “thank you for keeping me safe.”
Because new experiences can overwhelm her, Cleo Grace will do best in a quiet, calm home with patient adopters who can offer gentle guidance, structure, and consistency. Keeping her safe and secure will be a top priority, as she is still considered a high flight risk due to her past. With time, trust, and encouragement, she will thrive.
She will soon begin a confidence-building training program with our rescue, where she’ll learn that people can be trusted and life can be joyful. Cleo Grace is safe now, surrounded by love and support, and we’re committed to giving her every chance to succeed.
All she needs is her forever family—the one who will nurture her, help her bloom, and finally give her the happy ending she deserves.

Mika’s story began like far too many dogs in the South — picked up as a stray and brought into an overcrowded shelter system where countless wonderful dogs never get the chance to leave alive. Thankfully, Mika caught the attention of the right people. They recognized immediately that she was an exceptional girl who deserved a future filled with love, safety, and family.
When MAGSR was asked to help Mika move forward, we knew her life was absolutely worth saving. Welcoming her into rescue was one of the easiest decisions we’ve made.
Mika is an absolute sweetheart who wins hearts everywhere she goes. With her soulful eyes and affectionate personality, she has a gentle presence that makes people fall in love instantly. Somewhere along her journey, Mika was fortunate enough to receive positive socialization with dogs and other animals, giving her a wonderful foundation of social skills that her future family can continue to build upon. Like any German Shepherd, Mika will thrive in a home that provides structure, consistency, and clear expectations. Ongoing training will be an important part of her success — helping her continue to strengthen bonds with her family while growing into a confident and well-rounded canine citizen.
Unfortunately, Mika is currently heartworm positive, a condition that could have been prevented with monthly preventative care. The good news is that her treatment has already begun, and she is on the road to recovery. Over the next few months, Mika will need a calm environment while she heals. Heartworm treatment is costly, but we know this beautiful girl is worth every penny. Donations toward Mika’s care not only help her continue moving forward but also allow us to save other dogs with medical needs.
While we may never know much about Mika’s past, we know her future is incredibly bright. She is searching for a loving family that will welcome her into their home and provide the care, comfort, exercise, and companionship every dog deserves.
If Mika sounds like the perfect addition to your family, ask to meet her today.

Marlo is a stunning German Shepherd with a heart as big as his paws. He showed up at a country home down south and was reported as a stray, but when no one came for him, it became clear that Marlo was searching for something more—a family. He chose an incredibly kind home to visit and quickly showed what a wonderful dog he is. Despite his prey drive for small critters, Marlo was great with the children and got along well with other dogs. One of his favorite things? The moment you approach him, he eagerly drops, rolls over, and offers his belly for scratches—clearly a professional at soaking up affection.
Although we don't know much about his past, it is clear that someone took the time to provide this boy with a solid foundation. Marlo is quiet and well-mannered in his crate and truly enjoys going for walks. Sadly, like many dogs from the south, Marlo is heartworm positive. The good news is that MAGSR covers all of his heartworm treatment, so his future family can focus on loving him and helping him heal. This boy is already moving forward with his care. Marlo will need to take it easy over the next few months while his body heals. However, as he is already a pro with the crate and responsive to the handler, Marlo is the perfect patient. Please consider donating to Marlo's care. Not only will your donation help Marlo receive the care he needs, but it will help us continue to welcome other dogs with medical needs.
Marlo is affectionate, gentle, and deeply loyal—ready to give his whole heart to a family who will give him the forever home he’s been waiting for. Could you be the one to give Marlo his happy ending?

Kya is a stunning young female German Shepherd who effortlessly turns heads wherever she goes. Having lived in a loving home since she was a puppy, Kya has a strong foundation and understands many of the ins and outs of living in a household. She is already housebroken and crate trained, making her transition into a new home much easier. However, as is true of all GSDs, she will need time, patience, and structure while she adjusts to her new household.
Highly intelligent and full of drive, Kya is a dog who truly enjoys working and learning. Her family recognized her motivation early on and provided opportunities for socialization and training from a young age. As Kya matured, it became clear that she needed a home capable of meeting her higher-level needs—both mentally and physically. Kya thrives when she has a purpose and requires daily outlets to exercise her body and challenge her mind. Advanced training, agility, or a job of her own would be excellent fits for this talented girl.
Although her family adored her, they made the difficult and selfless decision to surrender Kya to MAGSR, knowing she needed more than they could provide. Kya is not a couch potato. She is seeking an active, experienced home that will embrace her energy, intelligence, and drive. This girl is incredibly handler-focused and reads her person well. With calm, consistent, and clear leadership, she truly excels. She will thrive in a home that provides structure, routine, and clear expectations, allowing her to reach her full potential.
Kya is ready to find a family of her very own—one that will appreciate her abilities and help her shine. If this lovely girl sounds like the right match for your home, please ask to meet her today!

Astra is a young, gorgeous girl who was found scared and fending for herself near a busy road. She was understandably scared and needed a little convincing that the people around her were there to help. Astra is a smart girl though, and it didn't take long for her to realize that her saviors were trustworthy folks- very soon after rescue she was showing to be an affectionate girl who had clearly had human and dog socialization in her short life. So she waited for her family to come and claim her...and was left waiting. Seeing that Astra deserves a family that understands the breed, the shelter contacted MAGSR to ensure that Astra got the happily ever after that she so deserves.
Astra craves attention, routine and mental stimulation. She loves to be brushed and doted upon, and she has exhibited good social skills with other dogs. She wants to be with her people and is a willing training partner, once she has a chance to warm up to her handler. Astra has started to learn some basic obedience-- walking on a leash and basic commands-- and will need a family dedicated to continuing to teach her manners and provide structure and routine in order to be a productive member of doggy society. Astra is kind hearted and smart as a whip, but she does appreciate a slow hand and someone willing to allow her to pause, assess and adjust before pressing forward with handling and training. Slow intros to new people, pets and surroundings allow her to use her sheppie smarts to realize she is safe and secure in new situations. Due to her stressful time spent near a busy road, Astra is particularly skittish near roads, so she will need a steady handler to teach her that traffic is to be respected, but not feared, and extra care should be taken to keep a tight hand on the leash as she learns to trust. Like any young shepherd, Astra's ideal family will be prepared to give her physical outlets as well- she is ready to run and play and needs a family that can keep up with her!
Astra longs for a forever family that can help her gain the confidence to truly bloom into the gorgeous dog we see on the outside. Could your family be the happily ever after that she so deserves?

MAGSR is honored to be a resource to shelters in need. And when one of our shelter partners reached out trying to find a safe landing for two shepherd pups, we knew we had to answer the call!
At 9 weeks old, Olive and Martini are littermates learning all about the world. They are as close to a blank slate as you can get when adopting a dog! While we do not know much about their parentage or how they ended up at a shelter, we do know that they have their whole lives ahead of them to be shaped and molded into great canine citizens. They have seen plenty of change in only two months of life, but routine and stability will be the perfect remedy to set them up for long term success.
As with any puppy, these two are playful, curious and adorable babies that bring joy and laughter, but also require patience and persistence to mold them into their best selves. Puppies are a lot of work! They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. Each of these amazing babies are looking for a household that will provide them with a good balance of training, playtime, and cuddles.
Olive and Martini will be adopted separately, as we believe this will give each of them the best opportunity to bond with their new family, develop independence, and thrive. Could Olive or Martini be your next best friend?

When MAGSR heard that three beautiful young German Shepherds were at risk of euthanasia because they were terrified and available to rescue only, we answered the call.
At 8 months old, Kessa and Kaiser are adorable bookend twins and half-siblings to 9-month-old Cherry. The three share the same father, while Cherry has a different mother. They had lived outdoors their entire lives, and when their breeder could not sell them, they were surrendered to a local shelter. Understandably, the sudden change left them frightened and unsure.
Simply getting Kessa and Kaiser out of the shelter environment allowed us to see a whole new side of these sweet babies. Kessa is a little more confident than Kaiser, but both are making tremendous strides. They love going for walks and romping around the play yard, where their playful personalities are beginning to shine.
These pups need to gain some weight and are currently on a carefully monitored refeeding program, as they did not have the best start in life. Having never lived inside a home, they are working on housebreaking and learning household routines. Each will need a patient family committed to continued training, guidance, consistency, and reassurance as they build confidence and learn what it means to be a beloved family member.
Kessa and Kaiser will be adopted separately, as we believe this will give each of them the best opportunity to bond with their new family, develop independence, and thrive. Could Kessa or Kaiser be your next best friend?

Darwin had a storybook start in a loving home with all things he needed and deserved. He was adored and cared for until one day his "mom" suddenly and tragically passed away. Unfortunately, none of her friends or family were in a position to offer Darwin a way forward and he was surrendered to a shelter at the young age of nine months. Knowing that Darwin had a bright future, the shelter reached out to MAGSR who was honored to step in for this handsome fellow.
Since arriving to MAGSR, it's clear that Darwin was well loved and cared for in his previous home, but at only nine months he certainly has a lot of energy and will need structure and training to put some manners on this big guy and help him develop into the good citizen he is destined to be. He will need to learn how to walk well on the leash and develop some maturity to prevent him from jumping up when excited. He seems to interact well with other dogs and is otherwise a decently blank slate for a family who is looking to help a young dog discover the world and mold them into their new best friend. Darwin will require physical and mental outlets for his energy and his family will have to look past his extreme cuteness to set the boundaries and that all German Shepherds crave. Could your family offer Darwin the second chance he so deserves?

Like far too many dogs, Watson was picked up as a local stray and brought to a nearby shelter to wait for someone to come claim him. Shelter staff worked hard to ensure he had everything he needed, but life inside an overcrowded shelter — especially one undergoing ongoing construction with limited kennel space — quickly became overwhelming for this young shepherd.
German Shepherds are incredibly intelligent, sensitive dogs who often struggle in stressful shelter environments. Day after day, Watson tried his best to cope with the noise, chaos, and constant activity around him. While staff did everything possible to keep his spirits up and make him comfortable, they knew shelter life was no place for a dog like Watson to spend his days. A plea for rescue support was sent out, and fortunately, one of MAGSR’s wonderful foster families had an opening. Team MAGSR quickly welcomed Watson into the family, giving him the chance to finally decompress and begin learning what stability feels like.
Young, handsome, and intelligent, Watson embodies many of the classic German Shepherd traits people know and love. He is playful, enthusiastic, and absolutely adores toys — especially balls. In fact, chances are good you’ll find him proudly carrying one around wherever he goes. Watson approaches life with excitement and curiosity, always ready for the next game, adventure, or opportunity to make a new friend.
As a young shepherd with plenty of energy and drive, Watson will thrive in a home committed to meeting both his physical and mental needs each day. Exercise, structure, training, and enrichment will help him continue developing into a balanced and confident adult dog. A home focused solely on lounging around the house would not be the best fit for this active, playful boy. Watson is looking for a family that will appreciate his joyful spirit and help channel his energy in positive and productive ways.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his past, Watson has shown himself to be a social and happy dog. He does well with other dogs and has clearly experienced positive interactions with people along the way. His friendly personality and eagerness to connect with those around him make it easy to see just how much potential this young guy has.
Because Watson arrived as a stray, there is still much we are learning about him. Now settled into a foster home, he is beginning to learn the routines and expectations that come with living in a household environment. Housebreaking, crate training, and general manners are all part of the learning process for any new rescue dog. While Watson is already making progress, he will need patience, consistency, and clear guidance from his forever family as he continues to build confidence and life skills.

Bellini is a stunning German Shepherd puppy whose whole accidental litter was surrendered to a shelter. All were adopted except for Bellini and her sister, Sangria. MAGSR was happy to step up and help them find the perfect families to move forward with!
Although she couldn't be cuter, remember that puppy antics are not for the faint of heart! She loves to chew and will need patience and clear boundaries to learn what is and is not suitable for her to chomp. Like all puppies, she will need guidance to learn proper house breaking and patience as she adjusts to new routines.
If you think Bellini sounds like the perfect fit for you, ask to meet her today!

Sangria is a stunning German Shepherd puppy whose whole accidental litter was surrendered to a shelter. All were adopted except for Sangria, and her sister, Bellini. MAGSR was happy to step up and help them find the perfect families to move forward with!
Sangria's foster says she is a fan of couches and crime TV, but not so keen on stairs just yet. She describes her as a "snuggle bunny in sassy britches", and says she is confident, intelligent and a bundle of fun. They are particularly enjoying her puppy antics as she plays with her large foster brother. Sangria is learning the ins and outs of house training and general obedience. This little girl even prefers to walk herself on the leash! Her foster is doing an excellent job of getting Sangria out and about to socialize, which will be important for her future family to continue.

Lovely Lexi is the complete package. Unlike so many dogs in shelters and rescues, Lexi has a full, known history because since she was just a puppy, she has lived in a loving home. In fact Lexi's family loved her so much that when their circumstances changed to a degree that they couldn't offer her the same life she was accustomed to, they prioritized her safety and well being over their own hearts and surrendered her to MAGSR, trusting that we would give her a soft spot to land and the best chance at a fulfilling life.
Gentle and sweet, Lexi is the life of the party- the kind of dog that doesn't know strangers- just friends she hasn't met yet. She is a bright and vibrant girl with a good deal of energy and a true zest for life. She has grown up loving children and other dogs, being very well socialized via playdates and doggy daycares. Lexi knows a few basic commands, and is a quick learner, but her exuberance and young energy means she will need continued work to learn proper manners such as not jumping up on people and counters, or pulling on the leash when she sees a squirrel or a new friend. Training will be fundamental in helping solidify a bond between Lexi and a new family, teaching her boundaries and allowing her to be a good citizen and a welcome addition to all of your adventures.
Like many shepherds, Lexi wants to be your shadow, close at heel and always looking for a gentle scratch and a kind word. She lives to please! She is also a well balanced gal, enjoying a good romp in the yard and play time before a solid snuggle on the couch with her favorite people. She truly just wants to share her love with a family who loves her back-- could you be lucky enough to be that family?

Stripes is one of Nikki's 9 puppies, who were named in honor of America's 250th by our beloved donors. Still developing their socialization skills, these girls will need endless opportunities to socialize with people and other animals in safe and controlled settings. Socialization is critical to their success as this will help them develop into stable adult dogs.

Meet Big Boy — a handsome senior German Shepherd with a heart as warm and generous as his name suggests! This gentle giant is pure sweetness wrapped in a soft, loyal soul. Big Boy adores being part of whatever his family is doing and has a calm, loving presence that brings comfort to everyone around him.
He gets along beautifully with people and other animals alike, showing signs of being both dog- and stranger-friendly. His easygoing, mellow temperament makes him an ideal companion for almost any home. Whether he’s trotting happily beside you on a walk, quietly watching over the yard, or curling up to relax with his favorite humans, Big Boy shines brightest when he’s surrounded by love.
Big Boy was picked up as a stray almost a year ago by another rescue. However, due to an overabundance of animals in need in the area he was overlooked by potential adopters for far too long. Knowing that this gentle soul deserved a family to call his very own, the rescue asked us to consider welcoming Big Boy to the rescue family. MAGSR knew this handsome guy would be the perfect match for the right household and welcomed him without a second thought. Although we know Big Boy is special, we do not know much about his past. With such an incredible personality, someone must have loved him somewhere along his journey. Like all shepherds, Big Boy is looking for a loving household that will provide him with the structure, routine, and leadership that will help him thrive. Training will be critical to his success. Not only will training help Big Boy recognize that he is finally home with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Big Boy is looking for a forever family that will appreciate his impressive nature and provide him with the love and happiness that he so desperately deserves. Big Boy truly is a big boy with an even bigger heart. If you are looking for the perfect gentleman, look no further than this boy!

Reba, along with her sisters Lainey and Shaina, came from an accidental litter; one that we have affectionately named the Country Puppies. Born without the resources or care they needed, the girls spent their early days living outside without consistent attention or guidance. Recognizing that the puppies deserved a safer, healthier start, their owner made the responsible decision to surrender them to MAGSR. This gave each girl the chance to grow into a confident, stable adult with the support of a loving family.
Reba is a brave little sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger desire for love. Despite her tough beginnings, she’s discovering just how wonderful the world can be—one cuddle, treat, and wagging tail at a time. Curious, affectionate, and eager to bond, she’s soaking up all the positive experiences she missed early on. Reba does have some natural alpha tendencies and can be opinionated. She has even attempted to herd the other two GSDs in her foster home. However, with time, patience, and consistent guidance, she is learning manners and basic commands. She’s dog-friendly and people-friendly, though cats may not be the best match for this lovely girl.
As adorable as she is, Reba is still very much a puppy. She will whine, have accidents, and keep you on your toes with endless puppy antics. But with training, routine, and plenty of opportunities to learn, Reba will grow into an amazing adult dog. Her foster family has been working hard to build a strong foundation of skills, and she’s ready to continue her journey with a family that can provide the structure, routine, and encouragement she needs to thrive. In return, Reba will bring joy, devotion, and that special rescue-dog gratitude that fills a home with love.
Reba is ready for her forever family—could it be you?

Guapo is a young, active, and incredibly handsome guy who found himself in a tough situation. After being picked up as a stray and brought to animal services, it appeared he had picked up a few minor injuries while surviving on his own. With a veterinary check and some antibiotics, however, Guapo was soon back on his feet and ready for a fresh start.
While little was known about his past, it quickly became clear that Guapo had spent time around people before. He showed signs of socialization and already knew how to walk nicely on a leash. Recognizing that this special boy deserved a safe and promising future, the shelter reached out to MAGSR—and we were happy to welcome him into the family.
Young, athletic, and intelligent, Guapo has all the classic traits of a young German Shepherd Dog. Curious about the world and eager to learn, he’s searching for an active forever family that will keep both his body and mind engaged every day. Guapo already knows a few commands and is ready for more challenges. Continued training will help strengthen the bond with his forever family while giving him the tools he needs to grow into a confident and well-mannered canine citizen. Like many young dogs, Guapo can sometimes get a little overstimulated around other dogs, especially if they’re rowdy. Slow and proper introductions to new canine friends will set him up for success, just as we recommend for all of our dogs. After a day of adventure, Guapo’s favorite place will be right beside his people. This affectionate boy loves to snuggle and will happily end the day with a sloppy good-night kiss.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to learn, explore, and share plenty of love, Guapo might just be the perfect match. Ask to meet him today!

Miss Gretel has spent the first four years of her life surviving, not thriving. When you think of a dog's favorite things you probably picture a soft bed, quality time with the family, and a deep full toy chest-- but Gretel never got to experience such luxuries in her former life. She's never had a family to snuggle and spoil her and as such she has had to rely upon the kindness of a few to keep her fed and comfortable. When a small window of opportunity opened for Gretel, a dedicated team came together to make sure she could quickly move forward into the care of the MAGSR family and offer her a new start. While this sweet girl doesn't know it yet, MAGSR is on the lookout for a family she can truly call her own that will shower her with all the love she has deserved.
Despite her different start, Gretel is an intelligent, active, and incredibly sweet girl. Gretel loves attention and is a friendly girl to those she meets. Gretel has shown some displeasure when restrained for vetting and general handling, which is likely a quirk from her previous situation. Going slow and advocating for Gretel with training and proper restraining techniques will be key as she learns to trust more people in her circle. True to her breed, she thrives with structure, routine, and confident leadership. Since Gretel has never lived in a loving home before, she is only now beginning to learn the routines and comforts of family life. She will need patience, consistency, and a clear routine as she adjusts to her new surroundings. Training will be incredibly important for this special girl — not only to help her build the skills needed to become a confident canine citizen, but also to strengthen the bond with the family lucky enough to call her their own.
Gretel is searching for a family willing to give her the love and security she has always deserved. In return, she promises unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a friendly companion for life. If Gretel sounds like the perfect addition to your family, please ask to meet her today.

Hi Everyone! My name is Stryder but I prefer “Stry Guy” because then I know I am not in trouble. A lucky guy, I spent 9 months with my last family, They absolutely adored me, but they had to return me to MAGSR when the older male in the house and I could not get along. I was fabulous with the resident female dog. This was a difficult decision for all of us; however, my family knew that MAGSR would take care of me and ensure that I found an incredible forever family.
In dog years, I am a teenager so, I have been building a good foundation, but I still have plenty to learn. For example, I love the water - squirt guns, hoses, lakes – but I am a big boy and I'm still fine tuning my understanding of which water is for play and which is not. According to my people, the water dish isn't a tiny pond for my enjoyment. I'm still not convinced they are correct. When not enjoying water time, I am beyond happy to dive into the toy bin and play. I adore chew toys like antlers and tough stuffed animals. I try to remember that the squeaky parts stay inside the toy, but sometimes their removal is simply too tempting and those squeaky parts accidently fall out. If you want to play with me, you are always welcome. I like to play fetch and I'm always ready for a game of tug of war as long as clear boundaries are set. Fortunate to have begun training class, I am a shiny star in obedience school. In my previous home, I was participating in two classes a week to prepare for intermediate obedience classes. I was also on track to pass my Canine Good Citizen class. I love going to class because I can ride in the car, learn new things, and get lots of treats. Continued training is what they call "critical to my success." As I can be a little nervous in new situations, they tell me it will help me continue to build confidence, I also think it will help me better understand my new family.
As a teenager, I am realizing that I like to be the boss and would prefer to be the only male dog in the house. I mean really, who doesn't want a leadership role? I got along great with my foster sister. She is a GSD too. I have also enjoyed going to doggy camp and playing with my canine buddies. Apparently, I am still very "puppy-like" whatever that means. All I know is I enjoy daily playtime, walks, and opportunities to get out my zoomies. After I get all the wiggles out, I have to admit, I love lounging - especially when everyone settles in the evening. However, as is true of all GSDs, I will thrive in an environment with structure, routine, and leadership. I have so much love to give and want to share it with my new family.
I am looking for a forever family that loves playtime, snuggles, and endless treats. Just so you know, ice cubes are my favorite. If you are looking for an active pup, an interactive guy, and a constant companion, let me know. I could be the right “Stry Guy” for you!
