Gigi
ADOPTED 01/31/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Gigi found herself in a scary shelter waiting for someone to come along and save her. She is now safe in our care waiting for a forever family to come along. She is very friendly and should make a nice addition to most any family. Ask to meet Gigi.
Updates:Gigi has been settling nicely into her foster home - she is beginning to relax and show her puppy ways that she really couldn't while battling for survival as a stray. She would be a great fit for a single person or couple who want their first pet to spoil like crazy. Gigi has learned to play with a ball and is truly a delight to be around. She's not the best around other dogs and would probably be best in a home without other dogs. Gigi is such a friendly girl with people and will be a wonderful family dog for someone, and she will need someone who will understand and have patience working with her distrust and fear towards other dogs. If Gigi sounds like a good fit for you, please ask to meet her.
Sierra
ADOPTED 01/31/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sierra is a 5 month old female GSD who was abandoned. Sierra cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Sierra has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a ten to twelve year commitment, and they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Sierra will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. Please inquire if Sierra sounds like a good match for your family.
Bruno
ADOPTED 01/31/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Bruno was running as a stray and ended up in a shelter with time running out. Bruno is a sweet boy that adores people. He knows his basic commands but would greatly benefit from training. This will teach Bruno to trust and help create a bond with his family. Our volunteers are working to get to know Bruno better and we will update soon.
Milo
ADOPTED 01/31/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Milo was surrendered through no fault of his own, as his family was no longer able to care for him. Milo is crate trained and housebroken - he is bell trained and will jingle a bell on a door when he needs to go out to potty. Milo loves to play fetch with the ball and loves heavy duty chew toys. Milo knows basic obedience commands and is very eager to learn and please his handler. If you feel Milo may be a good fit in your family, please ask to meet him.
Samson
ADOPTED 01/31/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Samson was surrendered through no fault of his own, as his family was no longer able to care for him. Samson is reported to be a complete honey and sweet boy. Samson is lucky enough to have made his way to MAGSR who will help him find his future home. Samson was cat tested by our volunteers, and tested very well. If you feel Samson may be a good fit in your family, please ask to meet him.
Gretchen
ADOPTED 01/30/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Gretchen was surrendered to a shelter after being with her family for 4 years as she was not getting along with the cats or small dog. Gretchen has gone through some training and was also being trained in search and rescue. Gretchen is very friendly and loves people. She would do best in a home with no small animals as they are just too tempting. An active family that enjoys going for walks/runs, lots of playtime and mental stimulation are best suited for Gretchen. Ask to meet this beautiful girl.
Excalibur
ADOPTED 01/30/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Excalibur is a large, handsome and energetic boy. It is obvious that no one has spent anytime teaching him manners, nor did they do any type of training. He is excitable which causes him to jump up, due to his size we feel he would not do well sharing his home with small children. Training is an absolute must, as this will help him learn good manners and will also help with the bonding process. A person who will offer him guidance, lots of exercise and on going training would best suit his needs. He is very friendly with people, but may be too high energy for some. He is good with large dogs, but would prefer to not share his home with small dogs or cats.
Kylie
ADOPTED 01/28/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kylie is a beautiful, high-energy girl. Kylie can be mouthy when playing and will need some training, but she is precious and has a ton of potential. If you feel you can commit to Kylie and give her the training she needs, and feel she may be a good fit in your family, please ask to meet her.
Updates:Kylie is an energetic and lovable girl. Her outgoing yet incredibly friendly personality seems to win over everyone she meets. Kylie has been living in a foster home for about a week now and has surprised her foster family with all of the commands she knows. Kylie has high-ball drive and is willing to do just about anything to play. She will sit, lay down, and out on command, particularly when a ball or wubba kong is involved. In addition to knowing a few commands, Kylie is also housebroken and crate trained. It's nice to have so many basics already in place. Currently, Kylie is living with both male and female shepherds. She greatly enjoys the presence of the other dogs and is learning the routines of the household. Although exposed to cats, Kylie shows a little too much interest and would likely not be a match for a home with cats. As a smart and loving shepherd, Kylie is looking for a household that will continue to provide her with the guidance and leadership skills a young, energetic dog needs. If Kylie sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet her
Kenley
ADOPTED 01/26/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kenley is a strikingly beautiful black GSD. She is a big girl, a little overweight but nothing a diet and exercise won't help. As with all dogs Kenley will require training - this will help her learn good manners and what is expected of her. We don't know much more about her history, but our volunteers are working on getting to know her better.
Updates:Kenley is an amazing girl and full of life. She has lost some much needed pounds and is a currently a healthy weight. Kenley is a kennel favorite among our volunteers. She is 4 years old but don't let her age fool you. She runs and plays like a 2 year old and gives our volunteers a run for their money. She is very active, loves to run and play with her Jolly ball. She knows all her basic commands and has good leash manners. It is a known fact that black dogs stay in shelters longer and take longer to adopt. This has been the case with sweet Kenley. It is heartbreaking. She has been living in a kennel situation for some time now and would love to be back in a home with a family that can give her the love and attention that she deserves. Please ask to meet Kenley today.
Hello future family! I'm Kenley and I'm loving my foster home - it's much nicer than being in the kennel. Mostly because I have a couch to sleep on when my foster mom watches the TV. I get to go with my foster mom everywhere, since I'm tied to her waist! Yesterday we went on a hike with 3 other dogs! I'm not a fan of dogs but I'm getting used to being around them without getting too stressed out. I'm actually sleeping a few feet away from one right now. I love being in my crate after a hike or after my foster mom does some training with me every day. I go right to sleep when I get in there and the only noise I make is when I'm excited to see you come closer or when I wake up in the morning and it's time for breakfast. I howl softly to let you know I'm hungry in the morning and I looove food! And I love training because it means I get treats! But my foster mom cheats and cuts the treats in half because I'm on something called a "diet". I'm slowly learning how to spell too! I get so excited when someone spells b-a-l-l!! That's my favorite! Next to food, of course. The only way I'll drop the ball is when food is involved. My foster mom is working on that with me now. You should come see me sometime! I'd love to show you my ball, and my food, and go on a hike with you, and then cuddle on the couch with you when it's time to relax. My foster mom says I'm really good at something called "cuddling" and says I'm soft! Come see for yourself! Food and balls (same thing as love right?), Kenley Rourke
ADOPTED 01/18/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Not all dogs are lucky enough to come from a loving household. Rourke came to MAGSR after being thrown out of a moving vehicle. Fortunately, a good Samaritan witnessed this atrocity and immediately went to help. She took Rourke in and helped him find his way to MAGSR. Although he had a rough start, Rourke is a sweet dog. He looks for guidance from his handler and picks up expectations quickly. Rourke already knows a few commands and with time and training will certainly pick-up more. At this time, Rourke is living in a foster home with other dogs. He seems to greatly enjoy pack life and is very comfortable with his foster siblings. If Rourke sounds like a good fit for your family, please ask to meet him.
Sadie
ADOPTED 01/17/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Sadie was loved by her late person who, sadly, passed away. Sadie ended up in a shelter with no where to call home, she is now in our care waiting for a new home and family. Sadie is over weight, she is on a diet and with daily exercise she will have her girly figure back in no time. She has been sweet and gentle, easy to handle. Sadie currently is being treated for a skin, ear and eye infection which should clear up with the medications she was prescribed. If you are looking for a calmer more laid gal, then Sadie is your girl. Won't you give Sadie the chance to know the comforts of a home and the love of her own family.
Ian
ADOPTED 01/16/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Our loving Shuskie (we believe he is Shepherd/Huskie mix) Ian found himself at a shelter with nowhere no call home. He is friendly, playful and everything you would expect from a young boy. Happy to go for walks, playtime and of course hanging with his family. If you are looking for a dog that will not be as big as your average size Shepherd then Ian is your boy.
Marcus
ADOPTED 01/16/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Marcus found himself at a shelter after his person passed away. It is evident that he was well cared for and loved. He is good with other dogs both large and small and he lived with a small dog in his previous home. Marcus would prefer not to share his home cats, they are just too enticing. He is friendly and well mannered. Marcus is ready to begin his new life, please ask to meet him.
Loki
ADOPTED 01/16/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Loki is a middle aged boy looking for his forever home and family. He was very confused as to why he landed in a shelter, but was overjoyed when he was sprung. He seems to have a calm demeanor, more of a laid back boy. Are you ready to open your heart and home....if so please ask to meet Loki.
Shannon
ADOPTED 01/10/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Shannon is a girl that loves her ball, a game of fetch helps burn off some of her energy. She is very focused on her person, which will make her breeze through training classes. Shannon would do best with a GSD knowledgeable person who has experience in dealing with a high energy dog Her energy level must be met on a daily basis with walks, playtime and training.
Updates:Shannon lived with a family, they retired and decided to travel which did not include Shannon. She was then dumped at a shelter. One of the shelter volunteers took Shannon under her wing and started working with her. Shannon knows sit, down, and paw. When playing fetch she will return the ball, drop it between your legs and wait for you to throw it again and again. She is great around people and children 8+. We haven't tested her around younger ones. She loves to play better than any dog I've ever met. She is a quick learner, and has phenomenal focusing powers. You can just see in her eyes and behavior that she wants to please and receive attention and petting. She loves to be brushed.
Ren
ADOPTED 01/09/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Ren was surrendered to a shelter when his family could no longer afford to keep him. He is a sweet boy and very confused. He is reported to be housebroke, trustworthy in the home, good with other dogs and previously lived with children. He rides quietly in the car.
Ren is looking for his forever family - could that be you?
Trinity
ADOPTED 01/09/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Trinity, along with her housemate, Apollo, were abandoned by their family. They were in a temporary foster home and they never came back for them. They are now both looking for families who will care for them for the rest of their lives. They do not have to remain together as both are quite content separated from one another. We know in her previous home she lived with children but we do not know how she got along with them. A good training program to help her learn some good dog manners and what her new family expects of her is in order. Both Trinity and Apollo will need a home with no small animals as they are just too tempting.
Kylene
ADOPTED 01/09/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kaz, Kylene and Kyrie are siblings. All three dogs were turned into a shelter. All are very nice dogs. Kylene is a little frightened by her new surroundings but warms up when she is with her siblings. She is learning some leash manners and enjoys walks with her brother and sister.
Updates:Kaz and Kylene have been in foster together for a week and both are bonded. Kylene gains much of her confidence from Kaz and vice versa. They love each other's company. They are both pretty laid back but enjoy their evening walks. Although neither had leash manners they have improved in the short time they have been in foster. Kaz is protective of his sister and always walks on the outside of Kylene herding her in and often checking in with his handler. They enjoy car rides, marrow bones, peanut butter kongs, and Naps!!! Often they are found lying side by side or with Kylene sleeping on Kaz. We are working on basic commands and both take treats gently. They are housebroken and get along with other dogs. They are still settling into home life but check back for future updates.
Kaz and Kylene now affectionately known as K2 or the Dynamic Duo have been in foster for 3 months and have proven to be the sweetest pair. Both have pefected their leash manners and have learned their basic obedience commands. They travel frequently with thier foster to various events and are great car ride companions. They have been socialized in large groups of people and dogs. They love to spot squirrels while out on walks but correct easily. This brother and sister share a bond that is very special which is why they should to be adopted together. They are the two most laid back dogs that enjoy being with each other and their person. They both aim to please their handler and are affectionate, attentive, calm, and loving. If you're looking to welcome a dog into your heart why not consider Kaz and Kylene.
My foster mom says I am just a bundle of joy, I will give kisses upon first meeting you and from there after. I have a favorite toy "lamb chop" I carry everywhere with me, my foster mom calls it my "baby." I respond to mom saying "Kylene get your baby." I will play fetch but only with my "baby." I am protective of my much larger brother Kaz and a bit more vocal when meeting new dogs. I am the guardian of the door and anybody who walks by the patio knows that this is my home. I greet mom everyday without fail waiting at the patio door for her to get home. I am tail wags and wiggles when mom gets in and I always bring her my "baby" lamb chop. I will insist to be pet while foster mom is on the couch and after I sit pretty mom will give me plenty of petting. My bedtime routine involves snuggling up close to mom on the bed and I will gently lay my head on her. Once I have gotten my fill of head strokes I will sometimes roll over and curl up in a ball to sleep other times I will accompany my brother Kaz in the family room to fall asleep for the night. Foster mom says I am a faithful companion where you go I go......I would love to find a forever home to shower my "people" with love. Spirit
ADOPTED 01/04/2016!
Good With Kids: No
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Spirit along with her sisters Joy, Merry and Noel were confiscated due to neglect. These girls are so shy and unsure of the world around them, everything seems new to them. It is obvious no one spent time with them. Although they are shy and can be skittish when they are unsure, they have never shown any signs aggression, they try to hide or duck behind their person. Time, love, committment and patience will help them conquer their fears. A loving patient home is what in is order, could that home be yours?
Updates:Spirit is a special girl. Having limited experiences with people, sounds, and the general happenings of everyday life, she requires a home that will work with her on a daily basis to build her confidence. Everything is new and intimidating to Spirit at this time; however, in her foster home she has begun taking small steps in the right direction. Spirit is very well behaved on leash. She regularly checks in with the handler and looks for guidance when encountering new people and sounds. Looking for leadership Spirit is drawn toward confidence and will follow lead well. Currently living with both cats and dogs, Spirit seems most at ease with her furry companions. She does well with both large and small animals and is curious but gentle with all furry creatures she encounters in the community. Although comfortable with furry creatures, Spirit needs time and patience when meeting new people. Fast movements and noises can be very intimidating and often result in a desire to run. As a result, Spirit would be best placed in a quite home without young children. This will provide her with an atmosphere in which she can flourish into the amazing dog we know she will be.
Zoey
ADOPTED 01/03/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Zoey is a 3 month old female GSD who was turned in to a local shelter because she ate a rock and her family could not afford her medical care. Zoey cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Zoey has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a ten to twelve year commitment, and they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Zoey will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. Please inquire if Zoey sounds like a good match for your family.
Updates:Zoey is a fun, feisty, energetic four month old puppy. She is already crate trained, potty trained, walks well on a leash, is good with dogs, and does well in a car. She can be headstrong and mouthy, so for now, it is not recommended that she be around young children. She will require clear boundaries, a structured environment, consistent training, and patience. She loves playing with her toys and the resident dogs in her foster home. In between play time, Zoey enjoys snuggling, belly rubs, and giving kisses. She is spunky and curious and would love a family who will give her the chance to explore, play, and learn how to be a well behaved GSD.
Scotland
ADOPTED 01/02/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
If you are looking for a fun loving, playful boy then step on up to meet Scotland. This boy is full of life and energy, while he does need basic obedience and some brush up on his manners a good training program can help with that. He has the traits of a GSD, he can be aloof when meeting new people but given a few minutes to learn you are okay he quickly becomes friends. He is still a puppy so please be sure that you have the patience and time it takes to deal with the antics that come with a dog of this age.
