Description

Stunning Cordelia was picked up as a stray and brought to a local shelter with another young female GSD - Cressida. The two girls waited patiently for families to come and claim them. However, after waiting for a month, when no one stepped forward, shelter staff began working with the girls to find amazing forever families. Although they began teaching the girls basic commands and even began working with a local trainer, GSDs often struggle in the shelter environment as they require a more stable, calm, and predictable environment. Recognizing that Cordelia and Cressida would be more successful within a breed-specific rescue, both girls were transferred into MAGSR's care. Our team made sure that both girls settled into loving foster homes where they would have everything they needed to meet with success.

Cordelia is young, interactive, and very intelligent. Clearly a true representative of the breed, this adorable girl has many typical GSD traits; she is loyal, energetic, and protective of her family. Although clearly socialized with other dogs and people prior to her arrival at the shelter, Cordelia prefers a slow introduction to new people. Once given time to adjust, she is affectionate and interactive. As Cordelia moves forward, it is critical that her forever family continue to develop her socialization skills in a controlled manner with new people and varied environments. Training will also go a long way with Cordelia. Not only will training help this girl build a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. True of all shepherds, Cordelia will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. Although we do not know much about this girl's past, we do know she has some foundation. Cordelia is already housebroken and crate trained. She enjoys the comforts of living with an incredible foster family and is quickly learning the ins and outs of living in their home. Treats are always welcome and Cordelia is happy to work for something special. However, so far she doesn't seem to understand the joys of toys. Not to worry, her foster family will continue to give her plenty of opportunities to play.

Cordelia is a young pup full of potential. If she sounds like the perfect companion for your household, ask to meet her today!
