Description
Handsome Homer was surrendered to a local shelter as his family felt that they could no longer care for him. Although Homer seems to like people, he is very submissive and a little jumpy with new people and situations. Recognizing that Homer would be most successful if placed through a rescue, the shelter began sending out pleas for help. When we learned of Homer's situation, MAGSR immediately stepped forward to welcome him to the family.
Homer is a big, handsome boy. He is curious and affectionate but does need adjustment time when encountering new people, places, and situations. Head shy and very submissive when being leashed, Homer may not have always been treated affectionately. He will need time to learn to trust that his new family will treat him kindly. Thriving on confidence and stability, Homer is looking for a family that will move him forward positively. As is true of all shepherds, Homer will benefit greatly from training. Not only will this help him bond to his forever family, but it will also help him develop the confidence he needs to become a good canine citizen. Wow! Homer has really come out of his shell since he as been living with his foster. He was so scared and unsure when he first arrived but now his personality is shining. He loves to play ball, sit for pets and is doing great with obedience training. Homer is a big guy who loves meeting new people and will continue to build confidence with structure.
