Description
Lovely Lilliana was picked up as a stray and brought to an overcrowded shelter. Her story is similar to so many dogs that end up in crowded runs hoping that they will be the lucky one to make it out alive. Although shelter staff work tirelessly to find the animals in their care safe and loving placements, sometimes the numbers of animals and needs are beyond overwhelming. The shelter where Lilliana was located was so inundated with dogs that she was overlooked until it was almost too late. Scheduled to be euthanized, another rescue realized that Lilliana needed a miracle. They knew she would be an incredible match for the right household but they didn't have an opening for her. Knowing that MAGSR may have an option for Lilliana, they reached out. We knew we couldn't let this little girl lose her light. So, with an incredible team effort the rescue community came together and pulled Lilliana before it was too late.
Lilliana is definitely filled with light and love. Friendly, easy to handle, and a lover, it is highly obvious that this girl was loved along her journey. A huge fan of the outdoors, Lilliana is easy to leash up and enjoys being outside. Joyful and playful, Lilliana will happily bounce around outside but is also content to get pets and love. Typical of the breed, Lilliana will be most successful in an environment where both her body and mind are exercised on a daily basis. Training will go a long way with this gorgeous girl. Not only will training help her develop a healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her build the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Although we do not know anything about her past, we have discovered that Lilliana is already housebroken and crate trained. However, she doesn't always love the crate and can do some talking. Like any new dog, Lilliana will thrive with structure, routine, leadership, and clear expectations. This will help her adjust to the expectations of her forever family.
Unfortunately, Lillian is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided had she been kept up to date with preventatives. Knowing that Lilliana needed to move forward with treatment, the rescue began the first steps in this process and our team already has plans for next steps. Heartworm treatment is expensive, but we know that lovely little Lillian is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Lilliana's care. Your donation will not only help Lilliana, but it will also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs to the MAGSR family. Lilliana will need to take it easy over the next couple of months during treatment. However, this will help her take the time to decompress and adjust to her forever family. If Lilliana sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet this girl today.
