History: Obi was bred and raised as a service dog for PTSD. His owner needed a dog for mobility purposes after an injury sustained on base and Obi couldn't provide that because he has an old injury (left back leg broken). He was a service dog for almost 3 years before she decided to keep him as a pet. However, according to his owner, he wasn't happy as a pet and wanted to work. We found each other and I started a trail with him as my service dog for PTSD at the end of September. He worked well at first, but it became clearer and clearer that he wasn't happy working. He would whine, pull, anything to get out of public. As well, he got increasingly aggressive. He nipped my family dog and a neighbor's dog out of territorial aggression. His owner said if anything happened that I should give him back to her, but she just got out of a surgery for her injury and can't keep him anymore. She wants me to find him a good home. A little more about him, he was attacked by a pit bull in April 2017 and nearly died, he has compartment syndrome in his neck because of this. He's a very sweet dog despite all he's been through and he loves giving kisses. He's great with kids and other dogs not at home, but he's been fine in the past with other dogs at home so I don't know if it's just me.

Description
Obi is a retired PTSD service dog looking for a new home where he can just be a pet. His owner just had a bad surgery and cannot walk or take care of him. He lives with me currently and has usually been good with our dog who lives with us, but he has been territorially aggressive with her and another dog.
He is GREAT with kids, okay with other dogs, and not good with cats. He loves ball and running with his dog friends. He's friendly, loves people, and will give you kisses for an hour straight. He would do best in a place with lots of room to run or dog parks nearby. He is healthy but his neck is sometimes sore because he was attacked by a pit bull saving his owner's daughter's life.
Obi is an incredible dog, and has lived many lives. He served as a PTSD dog for two survivors of sexual violence, one a veteran, and has also done therapy dog work with kids in court. He has also helped with other service dog's training over the years. He is gentle, loving, and playful. He loves balls and meeting new dogs. I just want to find him a home that loves him as much as we have learned to over the past two months of having him.
