Zar is a one-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his puppy energy. Originally from the South, this handsome boy made the journey north as a rescue transfer so he could have a real shot at finding the forever home he deserves. Zar is the kind of dog who lights up the room—his tail never stops wagging, and he’s always ready to greet new friends with enthusiasm and a big smile.

Zar is a really charismatic guy. He adores people, loves playtime of any kind, and would thrive in an active home. This boy needs a family that will give him daily opportunities to stretch his legs, burn off some energy, and enjoy plenty of adventures. Working both his body and his mind on a daily basis, will help Zar reach his potential as a stable adult. Zar, like many young strays, will need some time to adjust to life in a home. He still needs to learn many of the rules and expectations. However, with patience, gentle guidance, and consistency, he’ll quickly learn the ropes and grow more confident each day. With his eager-to-please personality, a little training will go a long way in helping him blossom into the incredible companion he’s meant to be.
