Rollo
ADOPTED 01/06/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Rollo was clearly a well-loved member of his family. However, when their circumstances changed, Rollo was surrendered to a local shelter. Rollo is a friendly guy. Easy on leash and social with his people, Rollo loves attention and affection. Although Rollo is comfortable with people, he has not had a lot of experience with other dogs and does need to develop his confidence in this area. Rollo will need time to adjust to other dogs and proper introductions are a must. As Rollo has previously lived in a household, he is likely aware of general household rules. However, like any new dog, it will take him some time to adjust to his new family. Training will go a long way to help Rollo with this transition as it will not only help him bond with his new family but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. If Rollo sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Rollo is doing wonderfully and has integrated nicely into his foster family. He is warm, friendly and knows and follows basic commands. He loves getting love and attention, he is a snuggle bug.
He had a nice Christmas and enjoyed a special chew bone along with the resident German Shepherd dogs Vader and Nala during dinner. He also shared some treats with them Christmas morning they received in their stockings. He loves going on walks and being out in the yard.
Olaf
ADOPTED 01/04/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Olaf was confiscated from his family as they were not properly caring for him. He waited patiently at a shelter till he could be released to a rescue for placement. When that day came, we were all too happy to welcome this friendly guy to the MAGSR family.
Olaf is an affectionate and playful guy. He is social and enjoys the company of other dogs. As a lover of warm hugs, Olaf believes that everyone wants to be his buddy. Only about a year old, Olaf still has a lot to learn about becoming a good canine citizen. However, with training, patience, and leadership, we are sure he will succeed. If Olaf sounds like a good match for your family, please ask to meet him today.
Rogue
ADOPTED 01/01/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Rogue was surrendered to a shelter when his family realized the demands of a guardian breed. As a working line, energetic pup, Rogue is best suited for a household that will provide him with structure and leadership. Both toy and treat motivated, Rogue is a fast learner and is picking up commands quickly. He will be an absolute joy to train with as he is driven, motivated and intelligent. Already very accustomed to playing with toys, Rogue is always ready to play.
Although Rogue is an intelligent and driven dog, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and will require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous - they will whine, bark, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Rogue will develop into the good canine citizen he is destined to become.
Kabona
ADOPTED 01/01/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Kabona was confiscated from her owner after being left outside to fend for herself. The shelter that took Kabona in recognized that she was undersocialized and would need some extra support in order to move forward. When they reached out to MAGSR, we knew we needed to step in.
Kabona is a lovely, young girl who thrives with consistency and structure. Due to the lack of opportunities provided to her prior to her arrival at MAGSR, she has a lot to learn about living in a loving household. However, she has already begun to make significant strides. Kabona is a big fan of treats and toys. In fact, she thinks she should have all the toys at once. I mean who could blame her. The more toys you put in one spot, the more fun you can have. In just a week, Kabona has made significant progress crate training and house breaking. She is clearly an intelligent girl. Although Kabona is showing us that in the right circumstances she will thrive, it is important that her forever family recognize that Kabona will need slow introductions to new people and situations. This will give her the opportunity to adjust to her surroundings and meet with success. Kabona will benefit greatly from training as this will help her further develop her overall confidence; it will also help her bond with her new family. Kabona is patiently waiting for her forever home. Are you the right match for her?
Eugene
ADOPTED 12/28/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Eugene was picked up as a stray by a local shelter. Although his family was found, they no longer wanted him. Without anyone to claim him, Eugene was left to wait for a new family. MAGSR heard Eugene's story and knew he deserved to move forward with a new family that would commit to him for a lifetime.
Eugene is a friendly guy who likes to talk about his day with his people. Curious about the world around him, Eugene likes to keep himself busy. Eugene is lucky to have moved directly into a foster home where he will learn all about the joys of having a home of his own. As we get to know Eugene, we will post updates on his adventures. If Eugene sounds like a good match for your household, please ask to meet him today.
Updates:Eugene is an absolute sweetheart of a dog and is a classic energetic GSD. He loves to snuggle and is always down for pets. He is a dream on a leash, walking without much pulling at all and showing no reaction to barking dogs in the neighborhood. He loves to play, be it a ball or a rope. Did I mention he loves balls? He really loves chasing balls! He's a strong chewer, managing to cut a thick rope in two while our back was turned, so tough toys are a must. He'll talk to you throughout the day, letting you know he's there but he not a big barker. House broken, he has never had an accident or marked inside the house. As he's been settling into his foster home, he's shown that he knows all basic commands, including sit, stay, down, and leave it. He's still working on drop it as those balls are just too exciting! He's fantastic with adults and older kids. He enjoys exercising his mind with training and play such as hide and seek. We're sure he'd be good with dogs as he doesn't appear to be dog reactive. He's shown no aggressive behaviors. He does play a little rough, so very small children or small dogs might be challenging. We haven't had a chance to test him with cats yet. He gets quite excited when he sees cats or squirrels on walks but doesn't pull on the leash. He is very smart and does test boundaries, such as taking his ball out of the toy box up on a shelf when we are in the other room, but he has yet to get into anything that belongs to the humans in the house. He is still intact and soon to be neutered. All in all, he's a deeply affectionate playful dog and we expect him to make a forever owner very happy. PS- His tale is crazy long and just stunningly beautiful!
Crowley
ADOPTED 12/28/2020!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Crowley's family made the difficult decision to return him to MAGSR, when Crowley was unable to adjust to living with the resident cats. As he moves forward, Crowley would do best in a home without small animals as his prey drive is simply too strong for them.
Crowley is your typical intelligent, playful, protective, energetic young shepherd. He is a busy guy who will do best in a home where both his mind and body are exercised regularly. Both housebroken and crate trained, Crowley understands the general rules of the household; however, all young dogs will try something from time to time. Having had the benefit of some training, Crowley knows basic commands such as, sit, down, drop it, leave it, and release. Although Crowley has already begun some training, it is essential that this continue as it will help him bond with his new family. If Crowley sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Updates:Crowley is enjoying his first week with his foster. Crowley is housebroken, crate trained, and loves his doggy beds. He loves belly rubs & back scratches. He's very quiet in the house, easy to walk and likes to be close to his foster. He listens and knows a lot of his basic commands. Crowley is patiently waiting for us forever home.
Norri
ADOPTED 12/27/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Norri is a young beautiful soul that is looking for a patient, calm, and supportive household. Norri was kept and used as a breeder dog in order to sell her puppies for drug money. Not long after her first litter was born, her owner quickly realized that having her and her puppies was too much work. Norri and her remaining puppies were quickly surrendered to a local shelter. Norri's puppies were adopted out by the shelter leaving Norri behind. The shelter has worked hard to find a rescue to take Norri in and give her the future she deserves. MAGSR was happy to step up and welcome her to the MAGSR family.
Although we are still getting to know Norri, it is clear that even with the uncertain life she has led she is a sweet dog. Shy will thrive in a stable, confident, and patient household. This will provide her with love, guidance and leadership needed to help her develop confidence. As we have the opportunity to learn more about Norri, we will post updates. If Norri sounds like a fit for your household, please ask to meet her today.
Thorson
ADOPTED 12/27/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Fluffy Thorson and his little family found themselves alone and in need on the streets of a big city. Fortunately, a good samaritan found the little family, and got them to safety. When no one came to claim this little family, MAGSR stepped in to help them all find safe and loving homes.
Thorson is a playful and social guy. He, just like his brother, is a big fan of cuddles. While on the streets, Thorson incurred an injury and has resulted in paraphimosis. He will need additional monitoring and a surgery or two in order to heal properly. Multiple surgeries will be expensive, but we know that Thorson is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Thorsen's care as this will not only help us provide him with the support he needs but it will help us help other dogs with medical needs.
Although Thorson is a sweet guy, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Thorson will develop into the good canine citizen he is destined to become.
Charlie
ADOPTED 12/27/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Charlie was a stray to shelter and sadly no family came looking for him. The shelter staff noted him to be super friendly and good with other dogs. We are just getting to know Charlie, but our volunteers have reported that he is a total sweetheart that eagerly sat for his treats and took them gently. We have seen no aggression out of him towards other dogs including the resident little dog in his overnight foster home. Additionally, Charlie was also noted to be gentle with the resident ten year old child during his stay. We know Charlie's past may not have been the best but that has all changed now that he is with MAGSR, we will make sure he finds a loving and caring family that can provide him a home, a comfy bed, good nutrition and care. If you think you would like to add Charlie to your family, please apply today.
Adley
ADOPTED 12/27/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Adley was picked up as a stray by animal control and brought to a shelter where she waited for someone to claim her. When no one came, an animal control officer contacted MAGSR to see if we could help this lovely lady find a home that would provide her with the love, attention, and safety that she so clearly deserves. Adley is a beautiful girl who could use a little extra care as she was clearly used for breeding, it is evident that Adley has endured some hardship. However, she is ready to move forward with a family who will love her and provide her with the guidance and leadership that all shepherds crave. Adley will do best with an experienced GSD household that will take a leadership role with her. She is a young dog that is a very active and strong-minded girl that will benefit from training as it will help her bond with her new family, as well as, become a good canine citizen. If this energetic girl sounds like a good match for your household, please ask to meet her today.
Saska
ADOPTED 12/26/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Saska was found running loose in the south. When no one came to claim this friendly guy, MAGSR stepped in to find him the forever home he deserves. Although we are just getting to know Saska, we are impressed with his curiosity and outgoing personality. Saska enjoys the company of other dogs, is crate trained, and settles nicely during car rides. Lucky Saska is settling in with a foster family so that he can continue to learn the ins and outs of living in a household. If Saska sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Updates:Saska is learning a lot with his fosters. He is housebroken and crate trained. He is still learning basic commands. Saska loves cuddles, belly rubs and likes to lean on you for comfort. He likes to play fetch and looks forward to his walks.
Saska loves to go for walks, his favorite training treat is cheese and he does not destroy his stuffed toys immediately. His foster continues to work with him with him on his obedience.

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Rayleigh and her brother Ryker were surrendered to MAGSR when their owner could not afford to care for them. Both pups were in need of some extra TLC when they arrived; however, our incredible network of volunteers was able to get them everything they needed. They are cuddly and playful pups who bring smiles and laughter wherever they go.
Although Rayleigh is an absolute joy, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. Klaus
ADOPTED 12/20/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Klaus is a handsome and friendly guy who has survived years of neglect and abuse. Fortunately, another rescue was able to intervene and bring Klaus into their care. This life changing event made all the difference for this energetic guy. Recognizing that Klaus would have his best chance at finding the forever home in another region, Klaus was transferred to MAGSR. Although we are still getting to know Klaus, it is clear that even with all the suffering he has endured that he is a good dog. As is true of any dog, Klaus will thrive in a stable household that will provide him with love, guidance, consistency and leadership. As we have the opportunity to learn more about Klaus, we will post updates. If Klaus sounds like a fit for your household, please ask to meet him today.
Bella
ADOPTED 12/19/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Unfortunately, Bella's owner passed away unexpectedly. As there was not a family member able to care for Bella, she was instead taken to a shelter where she waited for someone to adopt her. When no one came to adopt her, the shelter that was taking care of Bella reached out to MAGSR. We immediately welcomed her into the MAGSR family.
Bella is a sweet girl who is good with other dogs. However, she has been through a significant amount of change in such a short period of time. As a result, we are giving Bella time to decompress and adjust to her new life. Fortunately, Bella moved directly into a loving foster home that is giving her the time to adjust. As we get to know more about Bella, we will post updates. If Bella sounds like the right dog for your household, please let us know.
Updates:Bella is an absolute dream of a dog. She's lovable and eager to please. Bella's perfect day would start with a brisk walk and breakfast. Then she's down for a nap or some neighborhood window watching. Bella enjoys a longer walk at noon and another naptime curled in whatever patch of sun is available. She's always ready to patrol the yard and defend it from squirrels. Bella is right there to help with dinner prep and is an excellent menu tester. She settles down for the night in her crate with a plush bed, no puppy shredding risk for this lady! Bella is an undemanding couch snuggle buddy. She'll need proper dog intros, but is doing great with the resident older male GSD.
Goofy
ADOPTED 12/16/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Goofy and his siblings - Goose, Grace, and Ginger - were confiscated from a puppy mill operation. They are all emaciated and in need of positive interaction. The shelter that confiscated this little family knew that these dogs would need extra support in order to find their forever homes. When MAGSR got the call to take them in, we started putting plans in place to meet their needs.
Although they have survived a horrible situation, Goofy and his siblings are very loveable dogs. Definitely a little skittish, these dogs will excel with patience, leadership, and positive experiences. Goofy is a friendly guy who appreciates gentle but confident handling. He leans in for affection and has easily won over the hearts of our volunteers. We look forward to getting to know Goofy over the next few weeks. If he sounds like a good match for your family, ask to meet him.
Updates:Goofy has been in his foster home for about a month now and is adjusting well. He is also putting on
some much-needed weight. He is an absolute sweetheart and craves attention from his people. He’s a
happy chap whose tail is always wagging. His life is changing for the better and he seems to know it.
Goofy is an energetic, clumsy, large boy who is going to get larger—so he would probably be better
placed with older children. He’s been friendly with everyone he has met and gets along with other dogs.
He enjoys playing with his foster siblings and will do well with a playmate in his size range. In the yard
he seems to enjoy spending as much time getting attention from people as running and playing. He is
still skittish around sudden movements and loud noises, however, he has become more comfortable in
his surroundings. He is crate trained and sleeps well through the night. He will retreat to his crate for
comfort if he’s nervous. He enjoys walks and doesn’t pull on the leash but will benefit from the bond
he will form with his people through training. In an unfamiliar place or situation, he will rely on his person
for reassurance. In his foster home, he is living with two smaller female dogs to whom he is submissive.
At the vets and when being bathed he was nervous but behaved well. He isn’t sure what to do with toys yet.
Goofy would love a family of his own for the holidays, could that be yours?!
Lucy
ADOPTED 12/14/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lucy is one of Macy's survivor puppies. Just like her mom, Lucy is a survivor in more ways than one. She was one of the three puppies out of a litter of five that survived the dreaded parvo - Lu,Casey and Lacy - had the help of many people to arrive safely in MAGSR's care. This precious butterball will wiggle her way right into your heart in no time flat.
Although Lucy is an incredible girl, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance, and training, Lucy will develop into the good canine citizen she is destined to become. If Lucy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet this adorable girl today.
Loki
ADOPTED 12/13/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Loki's family loved him dearly; however, due to some unforeseen circumstances, they found themselves unable to provide him with the attention and care he deserves. As a result, Loki's family made the difficult decision to surrender him to MAGSR. We have promised Loki's family that we will find him a safe and loving household.
Loki is a young and energetic shepherd. Friendly and still puppy-like, he is learning to look to the handler for direction. As is common with most shepherds, Loki thrives with structure and leadership. A household that can provide him with routine and direction will help him gain confidence and develop into a stable adult. Loki will benefit greatly from training; this will not only help him bond to his forever family but it will also help him become a good canine citizen. Although Loki has lived with other dogs, cats, and children, he will need time to adjust to his new circumstances. If Loki sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet him today.

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely little Casey is one of Macy's puppies. Just like her amazing mom, Casey is a survivor in more ways than one. She was one of the three puppies out of a litter of five that survived the dreaded parvo - Casey, Lacy, and Lucy - had the help of many people to arrive safely in MAGSR's care. This sweet and goofy girl will bring you endless smiles.
Casey is an adorable girl and is fortunate to have the sweetness and ability to survive just like her mother. This playful girl brings smiles to everyone around her.
Although Casey is an incredible girl, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance, and training, Casey will develop into the good canine citizen she is destined to become. If Casey sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet this adorable girl today.
Sherman
ADOPTED 12/12/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sherman was a stray who was brought into a local shelter. When no one came to claim this handsome guy, MAGSR decided to step in to help him find his forever home. Due to Sherman's circumstances, we don't have a lot of information regarding how he does in a household or how he interacts with kids or cats. However, we do know that Sherman is a strong, playful guy. He is a big fan of toys and will happily play with his people. Although he can be non-reactive around other dogs, he can be a little pushy when first meeting new dogs and will need to be given time to be introduced properly. Sherman is looking for a home that will help him further develop into the good canine citizen we know he can be. Please watch for updates as we get to know Sherman.
Updates:Sherman is housebroken and crate trained. He is learning leash manners and can be stubborn but once he knows that you are not giving up until he listens he settles down. Sherman loves attention, playing with toys, going for car rides and lying close to you. His fosters think he has lived in a house as he is not afraid of the vacuum or other loud house noises. Unfortunately, Sherman was not taught manners and still mouths when he plays and greets people; Sherman would do best with someone who has prior German Shepherd experience who will continue to work on his obedience and mouthing.
Zeva
ADOPTED 12/12/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Zeva is a survivor. Owned by a hoarder in the south and used to breed puppies, Zeva's life had been filled with pain and suffering. However, when another rescue stepped up and removed Zeva and several other dogs from the premises, Zeva's life changed forever. Recognizing that Zeva would have her best chance at finding the forever home in the north, she was transferred to MAGSR. Although we are still getting to know Zeva, it is clear that even with all the suffering she has endured that she is a sweet dog. As is true of any dog, Zeva will thrive in a stable household that will provide her with love, guidance and leadership. As we have the opportunity to learn more about Zeva, we will post updates. If Zeva sounds like a fit for your household, ask to meet her today.
Sheldon
ADOPTED 12/11/2020!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sheldon came to us from a shelter as he was brought in as a stray. We do not know a lot about Sheldon's past but, we have gotten to know more about him while he has been in our care. Clearly under socialized and possibly mistreated early on, Sheldon arrived lacking the confidence needed to meet with success. However, with leadership and structure, Sheldon has made great strides.
MAGSR was fortunate to be able to provide Sheldon with the opportunity to work with a trainer in order to develop his basic obedience while building his overall confidence. At this time Sheldon is an absolute dream when working through commands. However, when placed in new situations, Sheldon often will revert back to his fearful self. Continued structure and practice will help Sheldon recognize the importance of looking to the handler for direction. This will further enhance his overall confidence while developing into the good canine citizen he is destined to become.
Sheldon would be most successful in a family that has experience with an insecure dog. His forever family will need to continue his training and confidence building without putting him in unpredictable situations. As Sheldon is uncomfortable with quick movements or busy households, he would be most successful in a home without children.
If Sheldon sounds like a dog that would be a fit for your family and you have the time and patience to work him through some challenges, he will reward you with his loyalty, puppy kisses and tail wags.
Sheldon has been through a four-week basic obedience leave-and-learn class with Stateline Canine in Hanover, PA. His adoptive family will be able to set-up a lesson to go over all his commands.
Raina
ADOPTED 12/11/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Raina is your typical young, energetic shepherd. In many ways she embodies the characteristics of most shepherds - curious, eager, and loyal. Raina has lived with a cat and interacted with small dogs prior to her arrival at MAGSR. She is very playful which could be a little much for the cat in her household. Affectionate and sweet, Raina has done well when meeting new people but can become a little too exuberant and get jumpy. Both crate trained and housebroken, Raina understands many of the household rules; however, as is true of any new dog, she will need time to adjust to the routines of a new household. Raina will benefit from a household that will provide her with the structure, leadership, and training that helps all dogs excel. If you feel like your household is a good match for Raina, please ask to meet her today!
Nathan
ADOPTED 12/08/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Playful Nathan and his sisters - Nadia, Natalie, Nancy, and Nellie, were dropped off at a shelter when their owner could not afford their care. This cute little family needed rescue immediately as a shelter is not a safe place for puppies. When MAGSR heard the shelter's plea, we stepped up to help these adorable babies find their forever homes.
Although Nathan is an absolute joy, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Nathan will develop into the good canine citizen he is destined to become.
Zoe
ADOPTED 12/06/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Zoe is a survivor. Owned by a hoarder in the south and used for breeding purposes, Zoe's life had been filled with pain and suffering. However, when another rescue stepped up and removed Zoe and several other dogs from the premises, Zoe's life changed forever. Recognizing that Zoe would have her best chance at finding a forever home in the north, she was transferred to MAGSR. Although we are still getting to know Zoe, it is clear that even with all of the suffering that she has endured, he is a sweet and affectionate girl. Zoe needs a little time to adjust to new people and new situations; however, we are impressed by her kind and resilient nature. As is true of all other dogs, Zoe will be most successful when provided with structure and leadership. Training will help her further develop her confidence as well as bond with her new family.
Although Zoe is clearly a special girl, we have learned that she is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if her caretakers had kept her on monthly heartworm preventatives. Zoe has begun her heartworm treatment and is doing well. The cost of Zoe's entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but Zoe is definitely worth the cost. Please donate toward Zoe's treatment, your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Zoe will need to take it slow over the next few months, she will be back to full strength once her treatment is finished. If your household is the right match for Zoe, please ask to meet her.
Sandy
ADOPTED 12/05/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Sandy was a stray who found her way to a local shelter. While she waited for a family to come and claim her, Sandy quickly won over the hearts of shelter staff. When no one came to get Sandy, MAGSR decided to step-in and help this happy-go-lucky girl find the perfect forever family. Although Sandy came into the shelter as a stray, she does know several commands and seems to be well socialized. Understanding that toys make everything more exciting, Sandy entertains herself with a variety of dog toys. When meeting other dogs, Sandy has done well. Sandy is looking for a forever family that will help her further develop into the good canine citizen that we know she is destined to be. If Sandy sounds like the right fit for your family, please ask to meet her today.
Update: Sandy is very cuddly and loves to play, run, and loves attention. When she has to go to the bathroom she goes to the door and sometimes will jump on the door to get your attention. Sandy is still very much a puppy and she needs to be monitored so she does not get into trouble. She does well with other dogs, but because she is still young she doesn’t always know when to stop. Her fosters are working with her on crate training.

Lovely Nadia and her siblings- Nathan, Natalie, Nancy, and Nellie, were dropped off at a shelter when their owner could not afford their care. This cute little family needed rescue immediately as a shelter is not a safe place for puppies. When MAGSR heard the shelter's plea, we stepped up to help these adorable babies find their forever homes.
Although Nadia is an absolute joy, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Nadia will develop into the good canine citizen she is destined to become.

Gunter

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Gunter is a survivor. Owned by a hoarder in the south and used for breeding purposes, Gunter's life had been filled with pain and suffering. However, when another rescue stepped up and removed Gunter and several other dogs from the premises, Gunter's life changed forever. Recognizing that Gunter would have his best chance at finding the forever home in the north, he was transferred to MAGSR. Although we are still getting to know Gunter, it is clear that even with all of the suffering that he has endured, he is a friendly guy. Gunter seems to know that the past is behind him and he is more than ready to move forward. Gunter brings joy to everyone around him with his goofy antics. Although Gunter is clearly an amazing dog, he, like all other dogs, will meet with success when provided with structure and leadership. Training will help him further develop his confidence as well as bond with his new family.
Although Gunter is clearly an incredible guy, we have unfortunately learned that he is light heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if his caretakers had kept him on monthly heartworm preventatives. Gunter has begun his heartworm treatment and is doing well. Updates:Great news for Gunther! He is heartworm free!! Gunther has successfully completed his heartworm treatment and is ready to meet his forever family.
Sheena
ADOPTED 12/03/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sheena is a survivor. This special and incredibly sweet girl was used for years as a breeding dog. It was evident when rescuers came in to get her that this lovely lady had endured great pain and hardship. Emaciated and chained outside, Sheena was simply being used for puppy production.
Although Sheena is a victim of cruelty and neglect, this lovely lady has the sweetest disposition. She is an incredible companion and has been friendly with everyone she has met. Our volunteers are simply in awe of her strength and resilience. Now that Sheena has joined the MAGSR family, she is experiencing kindness and love. Sheena is learning the rules of a household, basic commands, and the joy of a comfortable bed. At this time, Sheena is waiting patiently for a forever home that will provide her with the care and kindness she deserves. If Sheena sounds like a good match for your household, please ask to meet her today.
Updates:Sheena was used for breeding all of her life until she was rescued with her eight puppies. She is loving life with her foster family and has fit in quite well. Sheena is housebroken, learning basic obedience and loves belly rubs. She will take belly rubs over treats. She is good with cats and small dogs, she plays gently with other dogs. She will growl if another dog comes near her food bowl while eating but she stops immediately when corrected. Sheena does have some health issues that she is being treated for. She is on antibiotics for a skin infection, she takes dasuquin for her joints. Sheena will have to have eye drops for the rest of her life because she has pannus and is partially blind. It is hard for her to see in the dark. But with all that she has been through, she is happy and accepting of meeting people with lots of tail wags and loves to be with her humans.
Sheena is a very affectionate girl. She loves snuggles and will actively seek attention but is respectful of our rules about no dogs on the furniture. She's getting along pretty well with the resident Male GSD, with only a few growls exchanged over dog beds. Sheena knows basic obedience, is fully housebroken and crate trained, and is picking up leash skills quickly. She is content to curl into a cushy bed and nap the day away and is always ready for a walk. Sheena prefers her toys without ears and tags and limbs, and is happy to fix them if they don't come that way. She likes to play ball as well.
Due to her past, she's a little hand shy and startles at loud noises. She is wary of cars and really dislikes releasing air sounds (like air brakes on a bus or even opening a soda). Sheena is the most affectionate foster that I've ever had, and is the most gentle and sweet girl! Just an incredible dog!
Gemma

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Gemma and her sister, Requi, lived with a family who got tired of having dogs so they left them outside leaving the dogs with limited resources. As if this wasn't hard enough, the family then decided to move away and abandoned the girls along with two other dogs on the property. Another rescue group heard about these traumatized pups and decided to try and intervene. That's when MAGSR got a call. As MAGSR has a policy of never leaving families behind, we brought all 4 dogs to safety. Fortunately, MAGSR was able to work with other rescues to find safe homes for the two additional dogs on the property.
Gemma is a lovely girl. In her previous home, she lived with kids and other dogs. It was reported that she greatly enjoyed the children in her home. Although Gemma has clearly suffered at the hands of her previous family, she has been friendly and interactive with the volunteers she has met. Our volunteers have been very impressed with her sweet and stable nature.
Gemma is looking for a home that will love and commit to her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Han
ADOPTED 11/29/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Sweet Han was a stray to shelter. Looking at his current condition, it is evident that Han has endured a lot over his short life. When no one came to claim Han, MAGSR stepped up to help this guy find a home that will commit to him for a lifetime.
Although Han has been through a lot, his hardship and suffering are over. As a member of the MAGSR family, Han will receive the food, medical care, and comforts the he deserves. Han is a friendly guy even though he has clearly suffered. Once comfortable, he gives soft kisses and big tail wags to his people. An expert in the car, Han rides well and settles down nicely. He does appear to already have started some crate training and will likely pick up other household skills quickly. If you can provide Han with the comfort and leadership that this fantastic guy deserves, please ask to meet him today.
Updates:When Han arrived at MAGSR we quickly saw he was in bad shape. His neuter site had become infected and Han required emergency medical treatment which ended up being 3 days in the animal hospital. Poor Han’s scrotum had swollen to the size of a grapefruit and you could see the pain in his eyes. He developed a sarcoma with internal bleeding which required surgery to repair a blood vessel and remove his scrotum. We are happy to say he is feeling much better. Han has a long way to go as he is heartworm positive and severely underweight but MAGSR will ensure all of his health needs are addressed as well as lots of love and comfort.
Han's family loved him dearly. Unfortunately, they needed to return him to MAGSR. Although this was a very difficult decision, Han's family knew that this was in his best interest. We appreciate all that they did for Han while he lived with them.
Han is a lover and a quick learner. As a food and toy motivated guy, Han will be an excellent student when he attends training class. He takes vocal cues well and seems to want to please the handler. As Han is finishing out his last few weeks of crate rest due to his heartworm treatment, he is not yet able to play as much as he wants. However, that time is quickly approaching. Although Han is definitely a toy guy who will want play time once crate rest has ended, he also knows how to settle down with an elk horn or another tough toy. Living in a household with other dogs, Han seems curious about the other pups but hasn't yet had the opportunity to do full introductions. Slow, proper introductions are always encouraged as this lays the groundwork for a long term, stable relationship. We do know that Han has done well with dogs in previous households. Han is looking for a forever family that will provide him with structure, leadership, and plenty of toys. If he sounds like the right match for your household, please ask to meet him today!
Tasha
ADOPTED 11/28/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

*Update* Tasha’s fosters are thrilled that this precious girl is heartworm free! She is looking for a forever home where she can enjoy company most of the day with hugs and head-to-head snuggling. She’s a low to moderate energy GSD and is gentle in all ways. While she has not shown much interest in other dogs, her fosters continue to work on her socialization skills. She enjoys walks that give her opportunities to sniff and stroll and is not affected at all by other passing dogs. Training also continues as we all work together on basic commands.
Tasha is a survivor. After being horribly neglected, she was dumped at a vet with her two pups where the entire family was to be euthanized. Fortunately, another rescue learned of this little family's plight and was able to save them in time. Tasha's puppies were able to find families quickly. However, Tasha needed some additional care as her body had endured significant neglect.
With the help of another rescue, Tasha was nursed back to health. She received the medical care and kindness that this beautiful girl so clearly deserved. Although Tasha has experienced cruelty at the hands of people, she remains loving and attentive. She enjoys the comforts of a soft bed and head rubs. Although we are still learning about this lovely girl, she amazes us with her sweet temperament. If Tasha sounds like the right match for your household, please ask to meet her today.
Updates:Tasha has made significant progress since her arrival at MAGSR. She is affectionate with her people and has learned to enjoy toys and treats. A big fan of snuggles, Tasha is more than happy to bury her head in your lap just to get some extra love. Although playful, Tasha is not a high energy dog. She enjoys play time and outings but is also content to hang out with her people. As is typical of most GSDs, once comfortable, Tasha will protect her household and property. Not all shepherds want to socialize with people outside of their immediate family. Although Tasha is a friendly girl and does well out and about, she may do best being put away when visitors come to the house. Training will go a long way with Tasha as it will teach her to look to the handler for direction and leadership. Tasha is looking for a family that will commit to her for a lifetime. If Tasha sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Tasha is a sweet girl who immediately wanted to be with her new foster parents. When we are in different parts of the house, she often plops downs at the vantage point allowing her to keep tabs on both of us. Of course she may just be afraid of missing a meal! But “head cuddles” are very satisfying to both parties. She is fine being crated at night as long as we leave a light on, but would probably be happier as close as possible to her people. Her walks throughout the day sometimes lets her meet new people—passing trucks and exuberant dogs, not so fun.
Walking on a lead is coming along nicely. Tasha is also still learning what she needs to know to be a polite, safe member of the household. She is low energy now, but as she gets healthier I’m sure she will find the happier, more active Tasha inside.
Tasha shows her sweet, gentle personality even in adversity, such as when she’s had a tough vet appointment. She has been a lovely roommate, and is starting to sit before being invited outside or getting her food and she comes when she is called. Tasha seems very happy to meet people, but due to heartworm restrictions on activities, we have not yet tried to socialize her with other dogs, cats, or babies. Though the heart worm treatment has meant she is to stay calm and quiet, it seems fine with her. Tasha has finished her heartworm treatment and we are getting back into walks although, keeping them short and slow for now. Tasha has not expressed any interest in toys, but she likes to keep track of her foster parents. She is easy to walk on a leash, and seems ok to be crated at night, especially now that she knows our schedule and can count on us to let her out in the morning. She’s a beautiful, darling girl.
Tasha is still waiting for her forever home - are you looking for a sweet, loving companion? Tasha loves to go for walks, snuggle with her humans. She is very laid back and a gentle soul. Tasha also has a lot of grace. When she first came to stay with us she showed us that she knows how to untangle her legs from the leash with ease. Her fosters have not seen her swim but the second she steps into a creek she lies down with a look of pure bliss like she is getting a spa treatment. Oh, and she took it upon herself to eradicate the Brood X cicadas (I think she did it!) From reading her bio, you will see she came from a life of neglect. She has shown perseverance and she would love to be adopted and live out her life with a family that is hers. If you are looking for a low key, sweet loving girl to take on long walks and shadow you in the yard while you work then please reach out so you can meet her.

Dana and her buddy, Dave, were found running loose in a rural area. The dogs were brought to a shelter where they waited to be claimed. Unfortunately, no one came for them and as time passed it seemed no one wanted this special pair. Dave and Dana are a bonded pair. They rely on one another for comfort and safety. They are looking for a home that has room for two.
Dana is your typical energetic young shepherd. She's about 2 years old. Friendly and social this girl does seem to have begun learning basic manners. Dana arrived at the shelter emaciated but has been putting back on the much needed pounds with regular feedings. Inquisitive and playful, Dana enjoys the company of her people. Although found as a stray, Dana appears to have lived in a household prior to her arrival at MAGSR. She, like her buddy, is intelligent and attentive to her handler. Dana is looking for a family that will care for her and her pal Dave for a lifetime.
Dave is a friendly guy. He's about 5 years old. He arrived at the shelter emaciated but has been putting back on the much needed pounds with regular feedings. Social and curious, Dave enjoys the company of his people. Although found as a stray, Dave appears to have lived in a household prior to his arrival at MAGSR. He is intelligent and attentive to his handler. Dave is looking for a family that will care for him and his pal Dana for a lifetime.

Tucker's family loved him greatly but felt that they could not provide him with the life he deserved. As a result, they made the difficult decision to surrender Tucker to MAGSR. Tucker is an incredible guy. Confident, playful, and very responsive to the handler, it is highly evident that Tucker's family worked hard to help him develop into a good canine citizen. As a fun-loving guy, Tucker greatly enjoys his time playing with a ball or stuffed toys. He will keep you entertained with his antics. Having previously lived in a household, Tucker is housebroken, crate trained, and understands many of the rules of a household. However, as is true for any new dog, he will need to adjust the structure of a new household. Having previously attended training classes, Tucker knows a variety of commands. Although this is a fantastic start, Tucker will need to attend training with his new family as it will help him develop a bond. Tucker is patiently waiting for his forever family, could that be with you?

Precious little Joshua is one of Sheena's puppies. Just like his amazing mom, Joshua is a survivor. He and his seven siblings - Jacob, Joey, Jaycee, Jaxx, Jason, James, and Jazzmine - were removed from their home just in the nick of time. With several good samaritans along the way, this family made their way to the MAGSR family.
Joshua is a sweetheart and is fortunate to have the kindness of his mother in him. This playful guy brings smiles to everyone around him.
