Aurora
ADOPTED 06/02/2024!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Marley and her seven incredible Disney puppies (Jasmine, Eric, Phillip, Aladdin, Aurora, Ariel, and Belle) were dumped at a shelter that was over-capacity. Although Marley is an incredible mom who was doing everything to help her babies grow, a crowded shelter environment is not a safe place for any animal, particularly a young family. Recognizing that Marley and her babies needed help and fast, the shelter immediately sent out a plea for help. As puppy season is in full swing, many rescues have been inundated with puppies. This situation has further elevated the importance of spaying and neutering pets as the number of homeless animals is simply unsustainable. Rescues want to help; however, many groups are just as overwhelmed as the shelters. Fortunately, MAGSR's incredible team came together to help Marley and her pups move forward in the safety of the rescue family.
The Disney puppies and their phenomenal mother, Marley, have been living with one of our amazing foster families. Surrounded by loving and caring people, each member of the family has had all that they needed and more. These babies have had endless opportunities to learn, grow, and explore. This socialization is essential to their success. As the Disney puppies move forward, their families will need to continue to socialize them with varied people, animals, and in different environments. This will help all of the babies develop into stable and confident adults. Although they are being raised together, each of these babies has unique qualities. Aurora is the smallest of the litter, but she is also the bravest of the bunch. Ready to explore the world to its fullest, Aurora is a mighty little lady. Although Aurora is precious as can be, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience and routine, we know that Aurora will develop into a good canine citizen. If your household is ready to welcome this little love into your home, please ask to meet her today!
Aurora may be the smallest but she is the mightest!
Cubby
ADOPTED 06/01/2024!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
The Neverland Litter (Hook, Pan, Wendy, Tootles, Pockets, Cubby, Nana, Nibs, Rufio, and Tink) was born on a property that is known for breeding and selling puppies. When these babies turned six weeks old, the owner dropped them along with a second litter at a shelter. Unfortunately, the shelter, like so many others, was sitting at critical capacity and knew they needed help moving the babies forward. Recognizing that a rescue would be the best option for these babies, a plea went out to GSD rescues up and down the coast for help. With puppy season in full swing, many groups are inundated with babies needing a safe place to move forward. When asked if we could welcome this group to the family, team MAGSR stepped forward.
The Neverland puppies are playful, interactive, and social puppies. Although they did not have the easiest start, they have had many different people in their corner since their arrival at the shelter. In the last few weeks, these babies have had many opportunities to start socializing with new people and in a variety of situations. Socialization is essential to their success; it is critical to their forever families continue this process. Living with some of our amazing foster families, these babies are learning the ins and outs of living in a home. They are learning all about the joys of good food, daily playtime, structure and routine. Although Cubby and his siblings are beyond precious, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, we know that the Neverland Litter will grow up to become good canine citizens. If your family is ready to welcome cute Cubby into your home, ask to meet him today.
Updates:His foster describes him as a velcro puppy. He's always close to his people and a super great cuddler. He is very smart and learning fast.
Mattis
ADOPTED 06/01/2024!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Mattis was adopted out as a puppy from MAGSR. He attended puppy classes and grew into a big and intelligent guy. Mattis' family could no longer provide him with the type of care, attention, and living conditions that he needed to thrive. As a result, he was returned to the MAGSR so that we could find him the perfect forever family. We promised Mattis that we would find the right place for him as he moves forward.
Mattis is a big, handsome, and intelligent guy. Unfortunately, his medical needs were not addressed as expected so he arrived back in our care needing some support. With unaddressed skin issues, Mattis was very uncomfortable and required immediate veterinary support. We have begun working with our amazing vetting partners to help soothe Mattis' skin and bring him relief. He is receiving medication and baths and is already showing improvements. As we determine the root cause of Mattis' skin condition, we will make sure that he remains comfortable moving forward.
Having lived in a household, Mattis understands many of the ins and outs of living in a home. He is housebroken and crate trained. However, as is true of any new dog, he will need time to adjust to the expectations and routines of his forever family. With some more prominent classic GSD traits, such as guarding of the property, Mattis will thrive in a home that provides him with structure, routine, and leadership. Clearly responsive to a calm and confident handler, Mattis is looking for a more experienced household that understands the breed. Although we are beginning to provide Mattis with an understanding of basic commands, it is essential that his forever family takes him to training. Training will not only help Mattis develop into a good canine citizen, but it will also help him develop a strong, healthy bond with his forever family. Mattis is looking for a loving and active household that will keep him safe and loved. Could that family be you?
Updates:Mattis has been in foster for 3 weeks now. He comes when called, is very aware of the house rules, and he gets along with his housemates. He is good walking on a leash in the neighborhood but is still a little afraid of trash cans, not noises or cars.
Mattis is doing very well in his foster home. He knows all his basic commands (sit, down, come, touch, stay) and is working on reliably doing them when asked. He loves training time, so I'm sure he'll learn in no time flat. He does very well in a home with clear communication and lots of structure. In our home, he takes corrections very well, learns quickly, respects boundaries set by the humans, and is probably the most well behaved house guest we've had to date. He's crate trained, good on the leash, calm with dogs and small animals on walks, and allows our bossy resident GSD to be the one in charge. He's a bit more mouthy than is ideal, so we're working on that. He's not allowed on furniture in our home, but he's made it clear he'd love to snuggle on the couch if allowed. All in all, this boy is a big cuddle bug who is working on learning he's too big to be a lap dog. Think this very special boy might be a good fit for you? Check out the videos of him working on recall and playing gently with his toy!
Aime
ADOPTED 05/30/2024!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Amazing Andora and her "A Litter" puppies (Annette, Aime, and Abu) were dumped at a crowded shelter. With limited resources and overwhelming numbers, the shelter could not provide for this family. Although they did everything they could to help all members of the family move forward, shelter staff knew that without rescue help, this family would likely be euthanized as spaces are simply not available. Fortunately, rescue groups began working together to help the entire family move forward safely. When asked if we could provide a safe place to land, we were lucky to be able to team up with another local group in order to ensure that all members of the family moved forward safely.
Andora and her babies are friendly, interactive, and beyond lovable. Aime is playful, interactive, and an amazing cuddler. She is curious about the world around her and loves an adventure. A big fan of toys, Aime loves all things, rolly, squeaky, and crunchy. She is hoping her forever family has plenty of toys to keep her occupied. Living in a foster home with other dogs and cats, Aime is lucky to be gaining experiences with a variety of other creatures. As this little girl moves forward it is critical that her forever family continues to provide Aime with opportunities to socialize with new people, other animals, and in new environments. This will help Aime develop into a stable and confident adult dog. Although Aime is a doll, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and socialization, we are sure that Aime will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to be. If Aime sounds like the right match for your family, put in your application today! The "A Litter" puppies will be available for adoption as of May 1st.
Updates:Little Miss Aime has been living with one of our amazing foster families for a couple of weeks with one of her siblings. This little girl is affectionate, intelligent, and adores her people. It is impossible to keep from smiling with her near. Ready to try new adventures and already well socialized, Aime has done incredibly well with other animals and kids! She, like her sister, has an impressive personality for such a little pup. With structure and routine established in her foster home, Aime has been making huge strides with housebreaking and crate training. She has quickly discovered that the outside is for taking bathroom breaks and does her business quickly. Of course, romping around a bit after business is complete is a well deserved treat. Not afraid to learn new things, Aime has learned the joys of new toys, new environments, and has even discovered the excitement of going up and down the stairs. Her puppy antics simply fill the home with giggles and joy. Aime is looking for an incredible forever family of her very own. If she sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!
Hank
ADOPTED 05/25/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Hank was brought home as a puppy. His family loved him a lot, but due to a change in circumstances, they needed to rehome Hank. Recognizing that Hank deserved every opportunity to meet with success, his family reached out to MAGSR to see if we could help Hank move forward. How could we possibly say no to this big, goofy boy.
Hank is playful, energetic, and looking for a leader. In many ways, Hank is your typical puppy. He loves toys, bouncing around, and interacting with his people. Well socialized with other people, Hank is comfortable meeting new people, but he does still need to learn a few rules, such as, the importance of keeping his paws on the ground. Clearly food motivated, this guy picks up new expectations quickly. He does very well with a clear, confident, and calm handler. As is true of all shepherds, Hank will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. He is hoping to find a forever family that will exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. Some time to play with toys also sounds like an ideal day to Hank. As Hank moves forward, it is essential that he participates in training. Not only will training help Hank create a strong and healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Hank is looking for a forever family that will cherish him for a lifetime. Could that family be with you?

Midnight
ADOPTED 05/24/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Midnight was picked up as a stray. He was brought to a shelter while he waited for his family to come and claim him. Although this sweet guy waited patiently, no one stepped forward for him. As shelters are struggling to meet the overwhelming needs within their communities, unfortunately, many dogs are euthanized as stray holds end. With an amazing personality, shelter staff worried that Midnight wouldn't survive if help didn't arrive fast. He was immediately a staff favorite. He was so even-tempered and well-socialized that the shelter staff would use him as a dog tester for the other shelter dogs. Recognizing that a rescue could find a good home for him, the call for help was sent out. Team MAGSR knew that Midnight was special; we welcomed him to the family and promised to find him an amazing home.
Unfortunately, we have just discovered that he is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if he was kept on monthly preventatives. Heartworm treatment is expensive. However, we know that Midnight is more than worth the cost. He will be undergoing heartworm treatment and taking it easy over the next few months. Please consider donating
to Midnight's care. Not only will your donation
help Midnight move forward, but it will help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs. Midnight is hoping to find an incredible forever family that will have the time, patience, and leadership needed to help him succeed. If Midnight sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!

Lolly
ADOPTED 05/17/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lolly is nothing short of a survivor. This girl was picked up as a stray with another female dog who it was assumed was her sister and brought to a crowded shelter. Both girls were in poor condition. Emaciated, missing fur, covered in a skin sores, and heartworm positive, they entered the shelter just as a distemper outbreak occurred. Although both girls were very sweet, they were quickly added to the list for euthanasia. Luckily, they were pulled from the euthanasia room at the last second by another rescue when an incredible foster stepped up to help. Not all fosters are ready for one dog, but this one was open to two.
The girls were tightly bonded and were lucky to leave with their lives. Shortly after they arrived in care, Lolly's sister popped positive with distemper. This virus is often extremely challenging and takes many lives. Although she fought hard, Lolly's sister did not survive leaving Lolly alone and grieving. Her foster made sure Lolly had everything she needed to keep moving forward. He quarantined Lolly to make sure that she did not come down with the virus, kept her company, and began addressing her other medical needs. With her skin issues addressed, her weight back up where it belongs, and her heartworm's gone, Lolly has made huge strides. After months of recovery, Lolly is ready to find a forever family of her very own thanks to the love and support of her foster dad.
Lovely Lolly is an interactive girl. She enjoys the company of her human and canine companions. Now that she can be a dog, Lolly enjoys romping around outside. She has learned the joys of toys and a comfortable bed. Having lived with a foster for the last several months, Lolly has also been learning the ins and outs of living in a home. However, as is true of any new dog, this girl will need a chance to adjust to the routines and expectations of her forever family. A home with clear routines, structure, and leadership will help her thrive. Training will also go a long way with Lolly. Not only will training help her bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Lolly is looking for that special family that will cherish her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Updates:Lolly is still decompressing- she is very sweet, affectionate and wants to be a small lap dog- but she can’t because she is too big! This southern cutie came up in the freezing cold and is handling her transition changes very well. She discovered she enjoys snow, and it tastes good! Lolly is house trained, and is doing well with crate training. She is enjoying being with other dogs around her size. This is one food motivated pup which will be good for the basic training she was never taught.

Amazing Andora and her "A Litter" puppies (Annette, Aime, and Abu) were dumped at a crowded shelter. With limited resources and overwhelming numbers, the shelter could not provide for this family. Andora and her babies are friendly, interactive, and beyond lovable. Abu is a little ball of joyful puppy energy. Interactive, curious, and ready for an adventure, Abu can't wait to explore everything in his environment. A toy aficionado, Abu, like his sisters, loves all things, rolly, squeaky, and crunchy. He is hoping his forever family has plenty of toys to keep him occupied for hours. Living in a foster home with other dogs and having already been exposed to cats, Abu is lucky to be gaining experiences with a variety of other creatures. As the little guy moves forward it is critical that his forever family continues to provide Abu with opportunities to socialize with new people, other animals, and in new environments. This will help Abu develop into a stable and confident adult dog. Although Abu is a charmer, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and socialization, we are sure that Abu will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to be. If Abu sounds like the right match for your family, put in your application today! The "A Litter" puppies will be available for adoption as of May 1st.
Updates:Abu was adopted as a puppy into an incredible family that adored him. They recognized early on that Abu was showing prey drive, toy drive, and needed additional social support in controlled settings. Recognizing that training would be key to his success, they found a trainer that understood working breeds and began building a foundation for success. Although they took all of the right steps, Abu proved to be a little too much for their household. Knowing that a better match was out there for Abu, his family surrendered him back to MAGSR so that we could help him find that perfect family. We know this was an incredibly difficult decision. However, they did what they knew was best for their sweet boy.
Abu is an active, affectionate, and agile pup. Ready to take on the world, this boy has endless energy and drive. He must be placed with an active family that will exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. Abu loves trying new things particularly when food or praise is involved. In many ways he can be a firecracker with a strong will to please. With a strong and spirited personality, Abu can be very reactive with new creatures and in new environments. As Abu was building a foundation with a trainer prior to his return, our team decided that he would be most successful if we continued to build that foundation for success. As a result, he has been placed with one of our incredible training partners to continue this process. Over the last few weeks, Abu has been building a solid foundation for doggy manners. It is believed that his reactivity is largely fear-based. As a result, training and confidence building will be key to his success. Abu does very well with a good balance of work and play. He is developing key skills while also enjoying daily farm walks and plenty of playtime. Having lived in a home, Abu is crate trained and house broken. He loves adventures and is very well behaved when in the car. Abu will continue to work with one of our trainers to further solidify his foundational skills over the next few weeks. When ready, Abu will be looking for a family that will provide him with the structure, routine, and daily opportunities to meet with success. If this handsome little "pocket rocket" is the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!

Jake has lived in a couple of different homes in his short lifetime. He has had many people that have cared deeply about him; however, due to unfortunate circumstances, they could not keep him in their family. Recognizing that Jake deserved every opportunity to meet with success, his family reached out to MAGSR to see if we could welcome him to the family. Although we know this was a difficult decision, they knew that MAGSR would find Jake a loving forever family that would help him meet with success.
Jake is a big, handsome guy. It is clear that he has been well socialized and enjoys the company of people and other animals. As a young, working-line shepherd, Jake has boundless energy. He loves to run, play, and learn every day. A very intelligent guy, it is critical that Jake's forever family takes the time to exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. This will help Jake maintain a calm and confident personality. With a few commands already under his belt, Jake is ready to move forward with training. Training will not only help him create a strong and healthy ond with his forever family, but it will also help him exercise his mind on a daily basis. With food motivation and a desire to work, we know Jake will be top of the class. As a lucky guy, Jake has had the great fortune to have lived in a home. As a result, he knows many of the ins and outs of living inside. He is housebroken and crate trained. Typical of many dogs, Jake does best in a crate when he is alone so that he is safe and calm. Jake, like any new dog, will need time to adjust to his forever family. With structure, routine, and leadership, we know he will thrive. If your family is looking for an intelligent guy who is always up for an adventure, ask to meet Jake today!
Patterson

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Full-loving Patterson is the life of the party. This handsome guy was picked up as a stray in the south. Although he waited for his family to reclaim him, no one came forward. Shelter staff immediately recognized that this goofy boy would be an incredible candidate for a loving home so that placed him up for adoption. Patterson waited patiently again for the right family. However, with overwhelming numbers of animals entering the shelter every day, Patterson was on borrowed time. Staff members did everything they could to help Patterson find a loving forever home. Unfortunately, many dogs come into shelters over capacity but fewer make it out. At the last second we learned about Patterson's likely fate. Fortunately, with the help of some other groups, we were able to bring this guy to safety so that he can find the adoring forever family we know is waiting for him.
Patterson is a friendly fellow who has earned the title social butterfly in playgroups. He seems to expertly avoid conflicts within groups and makes fast friends with other canine companions. A master gamer, this boy can turn just about anything into a game guaranteeing endless laughter and entertainment. Known for his delightful zoomie sessions, Patterson is a nice mix of playfulness and affection. True of most shepherds, Patterson likes to take a second to initiate new relationships with people. However, once comfortable, he is friendly and silly with his people. An energetic guy, this boy is looking for an active family that will help him exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. Playful and silly, Patterson tries to find the fun in all situations. It is important that his forever family provide him with the structure, routine, and leadership needed to meet with success. With time, patience, structure, and training, we know Patterson will meet with success. If you are looking for an adventurous guy to bring endless laughs and a good snuggle into your home, ask to meet Patterson today!

Although Pockets and her siblings are beyond precious, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, we know that the Neverland Litter will grow up to become good canine citizens. If your family is ready to welcome precious Pockets into your home, ask to meet her today.
Updates:Pockets is an amazing little girl. Of all the puppies her foster parents have fostered over the past 10+ years, Pockets is the FIRST to not only teach herself how to go UP and DOWN the stairs (whhaaat?) but also she is probably 90% potty trained- again, all on her own! She uses her foster sister and brothers as guides for knowing What To Do, and loves to play. She is still working on basic commands (sit, stay). She is incredibly smart and would do well in an environment with a lot of stimulation, or maybe even as a service dog!!! She definitely needs to be around other dogs, so her foster parents highly recommend she go to a house with other dogs she can play with.
Granite
ADOPTED 05/10/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Handsome Granite was picked up as a stray in a busy city. Although he was very good with staff members at the shelter, due to overwhelming numbers of dogs needing placement Granite was placed on the list to be euthanized. Fortunately, another rescue was visiting the shelter to meet some other dogs when they came upon Granite. Knowing we were hoping to help this guy move forward before it was too late, they evaluated him and helped him move safely into the MAGSR family. Teamwork really does save lives.
Granite is currently living with an amazing foster family. They are giving him endless opportunities to meet with success in a safe and patient environment. Although Granite enjoys his people, it is clear that he hasn't always been treated kindly. He can be a little jumpy with new people, particularly if they bring their hands up over his head. With a little time and patience, Granite warms up nicely and can't wait to play, interact, and snuggle. Although we do not know much about Granite's past, we do know that his future is bright. He is currently learning the ins and outs of living in a household. It is highly evident that this guy is a quick learner and is excited to be in a home. Like all new dogs, Granite will need some time to adjust to the structure, routines, and expectations of his forever family. However, he is currently building a good foundation. Granite, like all GSDs, will benefit greatly from training. Not only will training help him build a strong relationship with his forever family, but it will also help him build the skills and confidence needed to become a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have learned that Granite is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided if he had been kept on monthly heartworm preventatives. Although treatment is expensive, we know that Granite is more than worth the cost. Already in the beginning stages of treatment, we are committed to helping Granite receive the medical care needed to move forward safely. Please consider donating to Granite's care as this will not only help us meet his needs, but it will also help us meet the needs of other dogs with medical needs. Granite will need to take it easy over the next few months while he undergoes treatment. If this handsome guy sounds like a good match for your family, ask to meet him today!

Belle is definitely the Belle of the ball. She greatly enjoys socializing with all of her brothers and sisters. However, after a good party, she is beyond content to settle in for a good cuddle. Although Belle is a doll, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience and routine, we know that Belle will develop into a good canine citizen. If your household is ready to welcome this little love into your home, please ask to meet her today!

As is the story of so many homeless animals right now, Parsley was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter that is sitting at critical levels. Unfortunately, no one stepped forward to bring this lovely, young pup home. Unable to sustain such high numbers, shelters are euthanizing animals daily. With her stray hold completed and no where to go, Parsley was moved to the euthanasia room. She was incredibly lucky when another rescue stepped in at the last minute to save her life. Although they knew they would need to find a breed specific rescue for Parsley, this girl was too special to leave behind. When asked if we could transfer Parsley into our care, we knew the MAGSR family was the right match for this girl.
Parsley is young, sweet, energetic, and intelligent. She was clearly well-socialized with people and seems to enjoy the company of other dogs. Having gone through several changes in the last week, Parsley has remained sweet and affectionate, but has shown us that change can be a little unsettling for the lovely lady. She is looking for a family that will give her time to decompress and learn the ropes in her forever home. As is true of all shepherds, Parsley will flourish with structure, routine, and leadership. With these pieces in place, we cannot wait to see Parsley thrive. Already a fan of playtime and adventures, Parsley is hoping that her forever family has plenty of toys and are ready to be entertained for hours with her antics. Training will go a long way with Parsley. Not only will training help Parsley create a strong and healthy connection with her family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. If Parsley sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet this stunning girl today!

The Hundred Acre Woods Puppies - Winnie, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger - were confiscated in the south due to cruelty and neglect. These babies had been placed in a small, confined area filled with garbage and feces. Unable to fend for themselves, they had limited access to water and were found without access to any food. Due to these horrifying conditions, when animal control officers arrived, the babies were immediately confiscated and brought to a loving foster family that began their road to recovery. Although the pups were finally receiving the care and interaction needed to meet with success, a rescue plea went out as extreme overcrowding has significantly limited shelter's ability to meet the needs of all of the animals in their care. These babies needed safe passage to move forward and MAGSR and another GSD rescue in the area, All Shepherd Rescue, were ready to help.
Working collaboratively with ASR, we were able to ensure that all of the puppies within the 100 Acre Woods litter had a rescue option and loving foster home ready for their arrival. These babies are in many ways your typical GSD puppies. They are playful, interactive, full of energy and puppy snuggles. Although they had a rough start, the puppies are incredibly resilient and are ready for forever families that will cherish them for a lifetime. Although Eeyore is cute as can be, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. Molly
ADOPTED 04/28/2024!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Molly is the mom to the 11 Hogwarts puppies. This family was part of a cruelty and neglect case within Maryland. Upon their arrival at the shelter, staff did everything they could to begin working with this family. They were able to foster Molly's puppies out within the MAGSR family; however, Molly needed to remain at the shelter while she awaited a decision on her case. Although she was extremely emaciated, covered with fleas, and weak, Molly appreciated the kindness of staff members and slowly began warming up to new people. Shelter staff worked hard to help Molly begin the recovery process and began getting her some much needed vetting. However, Molly was significantly weakened by the years of mal-treatment and the need to keep her puppies healthy and strong. As a result, a case of kennel cough quickly escalated. When volunteers came through to move Molly into the MAGSR family, they knew something was not right. Molly's kennel cough had evolved and become two-fold. She now had pneumonia and bronchitis. Fortunately, our team came together to ensure that Molly was safe and received all the care she needed. With time, patience, and some extra TLC, Molly has made significant strides. Her body is much stronger and she is ready to move forward.
Molly is an intelligent and energetic dog. She is looking for an active and experienced forever family that will help her meet her full potential. Having survived horrifying conditions in her previous household, Molly is looking for a home where she can be the focus of the family. A home where she can be the only pet would be her ideal situation. This way she can soak up all of the love and attention of her family while filling their lives with giggles, snuggles, and endless kisses. As she continues to move forward, Molly will need to exercise her body and her mind on a daily basis. Not only will this help her find a good balance within the household but it will also help her use her mind effectively. Molly is a big fan of toys and can be found playfully throwing them around while making her goofy sounds. She is good at keeping herself entertained but also enjoys a good game of fetch. This smart little lady is already picking up commands. She is learning to sit, down, drop it, come, and roll over. She can't wait to learn more! Food and praise motivated, Molly will be a blast at training. Training is essential as it will help Molly develop a strong, healthy bond with her family. It will also help her further develop her skills and socialization so that she can develop into a good canine citizen. Molly is looking for an active home that will provide her with a lifetime of love and attention. Could that be with you?

Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Intelligent little Sampson came to MAGSR as an owner-surrender with two of his littermates. His previous family realized they were overwhelmed and couldn’t raise a large number of dogs the way they felt these pups deserved. So, they made the decision to surrender the pups to MAGSR. We know this was a very difficult decision, but we also know that this family wanted these pups to have endless love, attention, and opportunities. We are still learning about Sampson at this time. What we do know is he was loved and adored by his previous family and is looking for a forever family that will help him continue to move forward.
Sampson is an independent momma's boy. Once you are part of Sampson's family, he loves hard. This is especially true with his foster mom. Bonding quickly to his people, Sampson, like most GSDs, has energy and likes to be active as long as he people are not far behind. As a brave guy, Sampson is always up for a new challenge and loves learning new things. A huge fan of treats, this guy is motivated easily and picks up new skills easily. Confident in many situations, Sampson likes to lead and is the pack leader when it comes to his furry friends. As is true with all shepherds, it is critical that Sampson's forever family continue to socialize him in new people, animals, and in varied environments. These skills will help him develop into a stable adult shepherd. In addition, it is imperative that Sampson attend training. Not only will training help Sampson build a strong and healthy bond with his forever family, it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. If Sampson's adventurous spirit and outgoing personality sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!
Updates:Stunning Sampson has been living with his incredible foster family for a few weeks and is doing an amazing job. With daily opportunities to learn about the world, Sampson is learning about different environments, sounds, animals, and people. He loves to explore the world around him and is hoping that his forever family will continue this socialization. A quick learner, especially when food or treats are involved, Sampson is impressing everyone with his new skills. He walks well on leash and checks in with the handler regularly. This handsome guy has also learned sit and place. As he develops new skills, Sampson's foster family is doing a great job challenging him with the next skills. Although he loves an adventure and plenty of toys, Sampson is also one incredible cuddler. He adores his people and easily wins over new friends. Once comfortable, he is affectionate and wiggly. It is hard not to smile with his goofy behavior. Sampson is looking for an active family that will adore him. Could that family be you?

Beautiful Bansky was found wandering around an apartment complex. He was clearly cold, starving, and in need of immediate help. Fortunately, a good Samaritan found Banksy and did what they could to help him. Bringing him to a shelter, they hoped that Banksy would find his forever family. Although he waited for his family to come and claim him, no one came forward for this sweet boy. Unfortunately, the shelter, like so many others, is sitting at critical capacity. As a result, Banksy needed out and fast. Knowing he would need a little help gaining weight, MAGSR pulled Banksy as soon as we heard his story.
Banksy is in many ways your typical young shepherd. He is curious, energetic, and loves his people. This little honey was incredibly fortunate to have joined an incredible foster family that is teaching him the ins and outs of living in a home. They have already begun housebreaking and are excited to see that he is so intelligent. Getting extra, high-quality food, Banksy is now getting the nutrition needed to fill his belly and help him grow. As Banksy moves forward, this guy will be looking for a forever family that will provide him with structure, routine, and leadership as this will help him thrive. His forever family will also need to ensure that Banksy has plenty of opportunities to socialize with other people, animals, and in new environments. This will help Banksy as he develops into a stable and confident adult. Training will also go a long way with this little honey. Not only will training help Banksy create a forever bond with his family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Novi and her family - Tej, Anshu, and Asha - were dumped on the side of a busy road in the south. With traffic flying past at high speeds, this little family was not likely to survive for long. Fortunately, a good samaritan saw what was happening and stopped to try to help the family. With an incredible stroke of good luck she was able to corral the family and convince them to hop into her car. From there she took them to a rescue friendly boarding facility. Although the authorities were contacted and a stray hold was put into effect, no one came forward. Recognizing that this family would benefit from rescue placement, a plea went out for help. MAGSR knew this family deserved the chance to move forward as a unit, so our team welcomed all four members into the rescue.
Novi is a stable, playful, and energetic girl. Clearly well socialized with people and adults, Novi is in many ways your typical, loveable ball of energy. She loves playing with her brother and still likes to know her people are close. Although Novi is already building a solid foundation of skills, it is critical that her family continue to provide her with opportunities to socialize with new people, animals, and environments. This will help her develop into a stable adult dog. It is obvious that Novi is an absolute doll, but please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, and training, Novi will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. If this little sweetheart sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Updates:Novi requires a total hip replacement which will be WELL over $10K.
All too frequently people choose to inappropriately breed dogs that are not health tested, and this has led to an increase in young dogs being born with genetically poor joints, particularly hips in German Shepherds. Novi, at less than a year old, has found herself in pain as she navigates hips that do not have the ability to support her growth. MAGSR is committed to getting her the highest standard of care, which means having her on a pain management program, hydrotherapy, and a total hip replacement surgery. She will also likely need extensive physical therapy post surgery and ongoing monitoring of, and possible future surgeries on, her other joints as she grows and the joints mature. Novi has a team of dedicated veterinary staff and MAGSR volunteers helping her forward-- do you want to be a part of her happy ending? Donate to her care now, and share her story with others!

Jasmine is cuddly and sweet. She loves nothing more than chilling on the couch and watching Disney movies. It seems that her family's theme matches her personality perfectly. Although Jasmine is a delight, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience and routine, we know that Jasmine will develop into a good canine citizen. If your household is ready to welcome this little love into your home, please ask to meet her today!

The Disney puppies and their phenomenal mother, Marley, have been living with one of our amazing foster families. Surrounded by loving and caring people, each member of the family has had all that they needed and more. It is highly evident that Marley has been an incredible mom to her magical babies. They are so very lucky to have inherited her loving personality. As Marley moves forward, she is ready to finish her job as a mother and enjoy being a member of a family where she can be cherished. An intelligent and playful girl, Marley is hoping that her forever family has plenty of toys ready for her. A big fan of fetch, this lovely lady is hoping her family loves to throw the ball. With an eagerness to learn and explore, Marley is beyond ready for her next adventure. Marley is looking for an amazing family that will provide her with the structure, routine, and leadership that all dogs need to thrive. With a few commands already under her belt, Marley is ready to start training. Not only will training help Marley create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Marley is looking for a forever family that will play during the day and welcome plenty of snuggles at night. If Marley sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!

Beautiful Bella was picked up as a stray in the south. Walking into an overcrowded shelter, this lovely lady was on borrowed time. However, with her incredibly sweet personality, shelter staff hoped that her family would come and claim her. When no one stepped forward, staff members began reaching out to rescues for help as they knew that Bella was simply too special to miss out on the incredible life she had ahead of her. Having heard their plea for help, MAGSR stepped forward to welcome Bella to the family.
Bella has one of those amazing personalities that easily wins over the hearts and minds of everyone she meets. Sweet beyond measure and an absolute doll, this lovely lady deserves an incredible home that will cherish her for a lifetime. Although we do not know much about her past, it is clear that Bella has at some point lived in a household. She understands many of the ins and outs of living in a home. However, as is true of all GSDs, she will need some time to learn the routines and expectations of her forever family. Socialized well with other people, animals, and in varied environments, Bella seems to adjust well to change, particularly for a GSD. She rides well in the car and loves a good adventure. As is true of all dogs, Bella will benefit from training. Not only will training help Bella develop a strong bond with her forever family but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have discovered that Bella is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided with a monthly preventative. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, Bella is clearly worth the cost. Please consider donating to Bella's care. Your donation will not only help Bella continue to move forward but it will also help us continue to support dogs with medical needs. Bella is in the beginning stages of treatment. She will need to take it easy over the next few months as she heals. If lovely Bella sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet her today!

Stunning Nathan was picked up as a stray in the south. Shelter staff were beyond surprised when no one stepped forward for this incredible guy. Although they knew he would be an amazing addition to a family, unfortunately, with numbers at critical levels in most places, Nathan's time was very quickly running short. Knowing this guy was incredibly special, shelter staff began reaching out to rescues for help. Fortunately, we had a space for Nathan and were able to welcome him to the MAGSR family.
Nathan is a handsome, intelligent, and friendly guy. Although we do not know anything about his past, it is quite obvious that he was well socialized with people and other animals. As a big, fluffy guy, Nathan easily wins over admirers. He radiates personality and has a typical goofball personality often associated with our long-hair shepherds. True of all shepherds, Nathan is looking for a forever family that will provide him with the structure, routine, and leadership he needs to thrive. As a big guy, Nathan will need to learn some leash manners and participate in training. Training will provide Nathan with a foundation of expectations, the opportunity to create a healthy bond with his family, and the skills needed to develop into a good canine citizen. At this time we do not know if Nathan has ever lived in a home. However, he is quickly getting a crash course in household living with his incredible foster family. It is likely that Nathan will, like all new dogs, need some time to adjust to the expectations and routines of his forever family. Nathan is looking for an amazing forever family that enjoys daily activities, playtime, and plenty of snuggles. If he sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!

Although Winnie is cute as a button, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and structure, we know the 100 Acre Puppies are destined to be incredible adult dogs. If your family is ready for endless hours of puppy joy, please ask to meet Winnie today!

The Fall puppies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato (Tator) - were an accidental litter. Raised together with their parents, these dogs have had the chance to learn many doggy social skills. Although their human family enjoyed the puppies, it can be difficult to care for a large litter and challenging to find safe and loving homes. Recognizing that the Fall puppies would be most successful if placed within a breed specific rescue, their family contacted MAGSR. We promised that we would find each pup a safe and loving forever family that would cherish these babies for a lifetime.
The Fall puppies are very large babies for their age. They are clearly big fans of food. Having spent time outside, these babies love the sights, sounds, and smells of the outdoors. So, they are hoping their forever families love adventures. Although these babies have been socialized well with their doggy family, they have not been exposed to many new people or situations. Socialization is critical to their success. Recognizing that social skills are essential as the Fall puppies move forward, our amazing volunteers are already beginning this process. Learning the ins and outs of living in a household, these babies are learning the joys of endless toys, comfortable beds, and loads of love. As they continue to move forward, all six babies will strive in households that will provide the structure, routine, and leadership that all shepherds crave.
Although these babies are absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless antics. With time, training, and patience, all 6 babies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato - will develop into good canine citizens. If one of the Fall puppies sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet these fluffy bundles of joy today!
Updates:Autumn is an intelligent and spunky girl. With a goofy and silly side, Autumn keeps her foster family entertained for hours. She has clearly learned the joy of toys and is happy to play for hours. True of many of our more alpha-minded dogs, Autumn can be intense and have a lot of GSD energy. As a strong female, she is going to push boundaries and see what she can get away with. Autumn is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the structure, routine, and leadership that all GSDs need to thrive. It is important that she exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. As Autumn is driven and eager to please, she is the perfect candidate for training. Fortunately, Autumn's foster family has already started this process. Not a surprise, Autumn is a star student. As Autumn moves forward, continued training will be needed. Additional training will not only help Autumn create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Autumn is looking for an active family that will provide her with adventures during the day and a good cuddle at night. If this lovely girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!
