Stella
ADOPTED 03/04/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Stella was a stray and ended up in a shelter. She is estimated to be 1-2 yrs old. She is a beautiful girl with a friendly personality. She can be picky with her dog friends, she does better with a well mannered dog who is not up her face. Training will help with this and also will teach her good dog manners. It also helps create a bond between the dog and their new family, because everyone learns what to expect from each other.
Kobe
ADOPTED 03/01/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kobe and Paige were surrendered when their family moved and were not able to take them along. They are a bonded pair and enjoy each others company. We are hoping that a family will have enough room in their hearts and homes for both Kobe and Paige. We are learning more about them, but so far they have been a delight.
Updates:Kobe and Paige found themselves with nowhere to go when their family was not able to take them with them. They were very confused but found comfort in one another. Kobe and Paige are now in a foster home together and they are very bonded, Kobe is the “baby” and will cry if Paige is too far out of sight. They do everything together and are very well behaved dogs. They walk nicely on the leash are already housebroken which is awesome. Kobe and Paige know sit, down, come, shake, and Kobe also knows hug. They share their food, toys, and bones nicely too. They were raised with small children and are great with children. They are also good with cats and other dogs. Paige is such a cuddle bug and the most beautiful black and silver shepherd. Kobe is the “little brother” although he dwarfs Paige in size. Both love being with their humans but do comfort each other if the other is upset. They enjoy romping around in the yard together. They have a truly special bond I would hate to see broken up. Please give these two sweet hearts a chance because you know TWO can be better than one!

Marco
ADOPTED 02/28/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Marco is a beautiful male German Shepherd puppy who is 16 weeks old. Marco was brought to a shelter with his sister Mazie who is also up for adoption. Marco is highly treat motivated, very intelligent, loves his toys and loves bones even more, is crate trained, about 80% housetrained, learning leash manners. Cute, loving, wiggly, kissy - all the good things that puppies are. Marco is still a puppy and will need a patient adopter and the full range of obedience training to make him the best dog he can be.
Updates:Marco gets along well with the resident GSD. He crates easily, and sleeps there overnight. He's had only one housebreaking accident since his arrival four days ago. He is full of puppy energy and shenanigans. We're using small milkbones stuck into a kong to keep him focused on something he's allowed to chew (he's a bit mouthy). Marco sits on command, and loves to be petted. He's very enthusiastic about taking walks, but will need some leash training. He's a great little guy.
Tilley
ADOPTED 02/28/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Tilley found herself in a shelter and was not reclaimed. She is a well mannered, friendly girl, a real dream. She is easy to walk on a leash and listens quite well. She is eager to please and affectionate. She would love to have a new family and home.
Cagney
ADOPTED 02/28/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Cagney landed in a shelter as a stray and no one came looking for her. She has done well with other dogs she has met and has been friendly with people she has met. She is a petite young girl who needs to gain a little weight. Training will go a long way for Cagney, as it does for all of our dogs. It is important that a bond is created between the dog and their handler/family. It helps you both learn more about each other and teaches good canine manners.
Akiva
ADOPTED 02/28/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Akiva has been living outside since his person passed away. He so wants to be a part of a family and enjoying the comforts of a home. He will need a refresher course on house and leash manners, along with basic obedience training. While he got along with the neighbors dogs, he did not enjoy the company of the small dog in the home, could be he was jealous that the small dog lived indoors, while he lived chained up outside. Please give this handsome boy the chance to once again enjoy the comforts of a home and the love of a family.
Cheri
ADOPTED 02/27/2016!
Good With Kids: No
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
It takes a special family to adopt a senior dog; it's uncertain how much time you'll have together and how much of that time will be pain-free. But the love you receive from a senior dog can be some of the most rewarding you will experience. Cheri is a senior who has had a difficult life, and is seeking a loving family to be her forever home.
Cheri was picked up as a 9 year old stray and placed in a local shelter, which contacted MAGSR to help find her a home. The veterinarian found that she was likely used as a breeding dog, and potentially dumped when she could no longer have litters of puppies. They also found that she had cancerous mammary tumors and a bad skin infection. With the help of our vet, we were able to remove the tumors, heal her infection, and she is now living in a foster home.
Since her recovery and adjustment to foster life, her personality has shown through. She loves to go for car rides and walks, finding giant sticks to carry along the way, and she absolutely loves to play ball. She can be standoffish with other dogs, especially if she doesn't know them, and thinks some cats look like tasty treats. And while she hasn't had any specific problems with children, we think she may be too protective and shepherding for a family that would often have children running about. But most of all, Cheri just wants to be near her family and have a soft place to snuggle into. If you would like to meet Cheri, please contact our Adoptions Coordinator for more information.
Eva
ADOPTED 02/27/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Eva was a stray to a shelter where she found herself looking for a way out. Luckily MAGSR had room for this sweet girl. She is very friendly with people and gives kisses on the first date. She is fine with other dogs that she has met. Eva is looking for a person/family to teach her all that she needs to know to be a well behaved family member.
Roxy
ADOPTED 02/27/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Roxy along with her friend & housemate Boomer found themselves in a shelter after their beloved person unexpectedly passed away. Roxy is so confused as to why she is not at home with her person. She is a nice girl.
Please consider Roxy as your next furry family member, she would so enjoy having a family of her very own once again.
Jedi
ADOPTED 02/27/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Jedi, another boy that found himself in a shelter with no one looking for him. Well he is better off with a family that will cherish him and keep him safe. Lots of exercise, playtime, training and love are in order for this sweet boy.
Milo
ADOPTED 02/27/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Milo along with his sister Negretia were surrendered to a shelter when then former family moved. They are young at 1 yr old, full of energy and playfulness. They do very well together, keeping each other occupied. They do have lots to learn to become obedient, well mannered dogs, but training with their new family will help. They can be adopted separately, they do quite well on their own also.
Duncan
ADOPTED 02/25/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Duncan found himself in a shelter, where no puppy belongs. He is a sweet boy, full of life and love. Puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. They will chew things they shouldn't, they will have accidents in the house, they are full of energy and can be mischievous. Training and guidance is an absolute must so that you have a well rounded, friendly adult dog. Please be sure that you have the time and are able to commit to the lifetime of Duncan.
Updates: Odin
ADOPTED 02/24/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Odin is approximately 2 years old, neutered Blk/tan male GSD. House/crate trained. Good on leash, rides well. Excellent temperament, very sound. Good with other dogs of both sexes and all sizes. Good with dog tolerant cats. Loves children, lived with toddlers/babies, cats, other GSD's, Pits & a Chi. Good with voice and some non-verbal commands. Approximately 80lbs, long, tall, lanky handsome boy.
Ben
ADOPTED 02/23/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Ben is a doll baby, very playful, happy go lucky. We do not know what he is mixed with, but he will be a big boy. Ben is still a puppy and will need a patient adopter and the full range of obedience training to make him the best dog he can be. Ask to meet this sweet boy.
Updates:Ben's foster mom informs us that Ben is super sweet and follows her around everywhere for her attention. Ben gets along with his 1 year old fur sibling and Ben can be a bit of an alpha. Ben knows sit and is getting used to his crate and is working on crate training. Ben has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies may be ten to twelve year commitment, and they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Ben will become even more of an amazing boy than he already is. Please inquire if Ben sounds like a good match for your family.
Apollo
ADOPTED 02/21/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Apollo, along with his housemate, Trinity, were abandoned by their family. They were in a temporary foster home and never came back for them. They are now both looking for families who will care for them for the rest of their lives. They do not have to remain together as both are quite content separated from one another. Apollo is a big boy weighing in at 91 lbs, with this kind of weight he is quite strong on the leash and in need of some leash manners. We know in his previous home he lived with children but we do not know how he got along with them. A good training program to help him learn some good dog manners and what his new family expects of him is in order. Both Trinity and Apollo will need a home with no small animals as they are just too tempting.
Updates: Koda
ADOPTED 02/20/2016!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 12
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Koda found herself alone in a shelter after her family decided that the puppy they bought was not acting like a puppy anymore. Dogs are a lifetime commitment that require leadership, guidance, and an unending amount of patience. Without proper training and guidance a young, energetic shepherd will find inappropriate outlets for their energy. Koda is a young girl who will need both mental and physical stimulation in order to meet with success in her forever home. Both crate trained and house broken, Koda knows some household rules already. In addition she knows many of her basic command, such as, sit, down, stay and paw. She is working on heel and the out command in her foster home. Although Koda is an amazing dog, she does need extra time and patience when meeting new people. As extra time and attention is required to address her socialization needs, she would be best suited with an experienced household. Please inquire today if Koda sounds like the right fit for your home.
Mandolin
ADOPTED 02/20/2016!
Good With Kids: No
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Mandolin was found wandering in the bitter cold. Being in survival mode she was difficult to catch but finally brought to safety after a month on the run. She waited at the shelter for her family to come but that day never came. Mandolin is now with MAGSR looking to start her life anew.
Updates:Miss Mandolin is a real gem – as beautiful, sweet, and smart a dog as you could hope to find – and so responsive and eager to please. But like many gems she is dazzling to behold, but she is not perfect. This little girl has a “big” personality and abundant energy and drive, and for much of her young life she has not received the leadership and direction needed to direct all that energy appropriately. She can be very focused and will chase a ball until the cows come home, LOVES to run along with her foster dad on his recumbent bike, and is a whip at learning new things. She is adjusting well to her foster home, is housebroken, and is learning to get along with her canine housemates.
But she can also be very excitable and inappropriately protective of her handler, and so will require close and constant supervision and clear rules and limits as she receives the professional training she needs to safely reach her full potential. Miss Mandy is such a wonderful dog, so very lovable, and so much fun! With work and guidance, she can excel at just about anything - obedience, agility, etc., but she will require an experienced and dedicated adopter, and a vocation, to truly thrive.
Miss Mandy is sort of like a fine sports car – a real pleasure to drive, as long as you are careful and in control with a clear and safe road ahead before you tromp down on the gas pedal. If you are experienced and would like to take the joyful intensity that is Miss Mandolin out for a test drive, please ask to meet her!
Chase
ADOPTED 02/15/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Harley and Chase's person sadly was no longer able to care for them. They were very much loved and well cared for. Harley and Chase are very bonded and have a very difficult time being separated, for this reason we would like them to remain together. They are very friendly with people and other dogs of their size. They enjoy spending time with their person, going for car rides and playing with squeaky balls.

Colonel
ADOPTED 02/13/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Meet Colonel! He is a slim boy found running as a stray. He's a very friendly boy, loves long walks and attention. Colonel definitely needs to put on several pounds to get to an ideal weight. He announces himself when we bring him out of the kennel and really just wants to cut loose and run and play. We are working on basic commands with him but he would enjoy training class. If you think this sweet boy would be a good attention to your family please ask to meet him today.
Updates:Sadly, Colonel has had a pretty rough start in his short life. Shortly after arrival, Magsr volunteers noticed that Colonel walks a little different. Upon X-rays it was noted that Colonel has an old leg injury that healed on its own, it also noted he had gunshot pellets in his muscle. The pellets noted on the radiographs are not significant enough to warrant removal. Colonel is thin and has poor muscle quality. He will need to build his muscle tone by walking at a pace that causes him to use his rear legs independently and going on walks up hills with a mild incline. Long leash walks, exercise, ball and Frisbee play will help keep his joints limber. Colonel also needs love and attention. Colonel needs a family to show him that all humans aren't cruel. Even after all that Colonel has been through he still remains sweet and gentle with everyone he meets. He always greets us with a smile and a happy dance. MAGSR is committed to helping sweet Colonel by stopping at no means to get him to a healthy weight and physically stronger. If you are a family to give him the much needed love and attention that he deserves please ask to meet this sweet boy today.
Colonel has been in a foster home for a couple of weeks. He's a sweet, happy boy who loves playing and affection. Colonel has put on a few needed pounds and has more to go to get to an ideal weight. Colonel's ability to use his rear legs independently has greatly improved with daily long walks including short inclines, and he's good with 3 or 4 steps. Patience and treats were needed for his first flight of stairs and going up was easier than coming down. Colonel walks well with the resident foster dog. He enjoys fetch, chase, and tug with tennis balls and tug-of-war toys with both humans and other dogs. Colonel will protect his humans from squirrels and rabbits when needed on his walks, so he may be a "no" for cats, but we haven't confirmed that yet. Colonel is both crate trained and house broken. He's learning sit and stay, and is great with older children and eagerly awaits and loves ear and belly rubs. He loves to lean into you and rub against you to say hello - he's very affectionate and loves his humans. He may inadvertently knock down very young children when greeting or playing. When outside, Colonel enjoys laying nearby to take in all the sounds and smells. This sweet, fun boy is ready to be your playmate and a part of your loving family.
Colonel is easy going, playful, and eager to please. He knows how to sit, lay down, go to bed (crate), give his paw for a treat, and stop while walking on a leash. He's learning to drop a toy or ball after fetch, though he would rather play keep away or chase with it! Colonel is super affectionate and even tries to sit in my lap occasionally. He looks for his foster sister when back from walks and is super excited to see her, wagging his tail and kissing her, he's adorable. He "play growls" during tug and enjoys the challenge of getting biscuits out of a Kong or treat ball. He's not too sure about getting into the tub, but tolerates a bath with no problem at all. He really enjoys getting towel dried even after walking in the rain! He loves going for car rides, sits quietly or lays down. Colonel's PT is going very well and he's making steady progress and strengthening up his muscles! Ask to meet sweet Colonel!
Madea
ADOPTED 02/13/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Beautiful Madea found herself at a shelter looking for a new family when her previous family dropped her off there as she was chasing the cattle. So as you can see Madea will need a cow free home. She gets along with other dogs and children. She is a sweet, friendly girl who would love to once again be in a home. Please ask to meet Madea
Dixie
ADOPTED 02/13/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Dixie and her housemate Yashi found themselves in a shelter after their beloved person tragically died in a house fire. Dixie is a beautiful girl and certainly does not look or act 7 years young. She of course is very confused right now with all of the changes in her life, but with time she should settle in to her new life. As the girls are new to us so we are still learning more about them. Please watch for updates.
Updates:Upon exam by our vet, they have determined that Dixie is approx 4 years old not 7 years old, as originally reported.
Dixie has been in her foster home for a couple of week now and is really coming out of her shell. She greets her foster parents with hugs and kisses. When she's in the backyard, she likes to run a lap or two, then runs to her foster parents and gives a kiss or two and then she's off to run another lap. She is super cute! Dixie is great on a leash and she's working on her obedience commands, as they need a little attention, but we have no doubt at all that she'll catch on quickly. Dixie can be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly. This sweet girl has lots of energy and will make a great companion for her new family. If Dixie sounds like a good fit, please ask to meet her.

Hemlock
ADOPTED 02/06/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Hemlock was very much loved by his family but his owner was deployed and his family looked to MAGSR to find Hemlock a loving and caring home. He is a beautiful boy who is very friendly with everyone he meets. He loves to play fetch, Frisbee and loves to cuddle. He has carpus valgus in his left front joint. It has been established that this condition most commonly occurs in rapidly growing medium to large breed dogs. Some evidence suggests male puppies are more likely to be affected by this condition. This condition does not stop Hemlock from running and playing and having fun. If you can provide this handsome boy a loving home please ask to meet Hemlock today.

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Pax was found in the street and was almost hit by a car, luckily his guardian angel stopped and Pax jumped right into her car. After his stray hold was up at the shelter and he was not reclaimed his guardian angel reclaimed him and surrendered him to us. Pax will require training as do all of our dogs. Training is very helpful with creating a bond with their new family and teaching them good canine manners. If you are interested in visiting with Pax please let us know.

Buster was running as a stray and ended up at a shelter. Buster is a good pup, lucky enough to have made his way to MAGSR who will help him. Buster is now looking to start his new life. Buster chases cats - when tested by our volunteers, he showed some interest, but walked away each time. However, Buster is a definite "no" for goats - he doesn't like them much at all. If you feel Buster may be a good fit in your family, please ask to meet him.

Good With Kids: Yes

Yashi and her housemate Dixie found themselves in a shelter after their beloved person tragically died in a house fire. Yashi can be kennel/crate reactive when people approach, but outside of her crate she has been friendly with those she met. Yashi is not for the first time German Shepherd family, she will require an experienced person who can keep her mind exercised as well as her body. Even though she lived with Dixie before, we are finding that right now Yashi is not doing well with other dogs. As the girls are new to us so we are still learning more about them. Please watch for updates.

Chevy
ADOPTED 01/31/2016!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Chevy along with his siblings Jordan and Charlie are the pups of a purebred white female GSD and dad is a white GSD/Lab mix. Both parents are very friendly. Sadly these pups have been living in a barn so they are not use to the normal day to day sights and sounds. While they are frightened when experiencing new things, they remain very sweet, they just look for reassurance from their people. Yes they have a lot to learn and they need to become comfortable with their surroundings, but being in a home with guidance and love will help them tremendously. Training of course will help them build their confidence and teach them to be good canine citizens.
Please remember that puppies are a lot of work, they need a lot of attention and a watchful eye. They will get into things, chew things and have accidents in the house, so please be sure that you have the time and patience and are able to make a commitment for the next 12-14 years.
Updates:Chevy is a handsome white German shepherd and yellow lab mix who loves people. For an 8-9 month old puppy who is still growing and learning to appreciate the comforts of a loving indoor home, as long as you walk him 1-2 times a day, he is surprisingly mellow inside the house and takes a long morning and afternoon nap. He loves to cuddle and loves belly rubs if you're offering but will otherwise just follow you around and typically lay at your feet or close by. His favorite thing to chew is antlers but err on the side of caution and keep your shoes in the closet until he outgrows being a puppy! He loves to play fetch; squeaky tennis balls thrown with the "Chuckit!" ball launcher might be his favorite. He is a quick and eager learner; he heels when walking, sits when you stop (while walking), responds correctly to "sit", "down", "paw" and has been taught to stay in a "down" position beside the stairs (in sight but approx 10 ft away) when we meet anyone at the door. He is house trained and sleeps quietly through the night until you wake up. He has quickly deduced that food comes from the kitchen but will wait patiently outside the kitchen if you are in there and does not beg for food. He likes car rides. He is slowly getting better with separation anxiety but for the moment, while he is happy to be in his crate while anyone is home, he prefers to be a puppy-proof room when he's alone. While Chevy warms up to people almost instantly and gently seeks them out (sometimes slightly leaning in to them for a pet but never charging, jumping up or licking anyone), he does not seek out the attention of small children and can be uneasy around them. The perfect home for Chevy would have owners that like to walk/run/hike at least once a day, love to play fetch, love a constant companion/shadow whether they are inside or working in the yard and are home more often than not.

Gigi found herself in a scary shelter waiting for someone to come along and save her. She is now safe in our care waiting for a forever family to come along. She is very friendly and should make a nice addition to most any family. Ask to meet Gigi.
Updates:Gigi has been settling nicely into her foster home - she is beginning to relax and show her puppy ways that she really couldn't while battling for survival as a stray. She would be a great fit for a single person or couple who want their first pet to spoil like crazy. Gigi has learned to play with a ball and is truly a delight to be around. She's not the best around other dogs and would probably be best in a home without other dogs. Gigi is such a friendly girl with people and will be a wonderful family dog for someone, and she will need someone who will understand and have patience working with her distrust and fear towards other dogs. If Gigi sounds like a good fit for you, please ask to meet her.

Sierra is a 5 month old female GSD who was abandoned. Sierra cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Sierra has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a ten to twelve year commitment, and they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Sierra will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. Please inquire if Sierra sounds like a good match for your family.

Bruno was running as a stray and ended up in a shelter with time running out. Bruno is a sweet boy that adores people. He knows his basic commands but would greatly benefit from training. This will teach Bruno to trust and help create a bond with his family. Our volunteers are working to get to know Bruno better and we will update soon.

Milo was surrendered through no fault of his own, as his family was no longer able to care for him. Milo is crate trained and housebroken - he is bell trained and will jingle a bell on a door when he needs to go out to potty. Milo loves to play fetch with the ball and loves heavy duty chew toys. Milo knows basic obedience commands and is very eager to learn and please his handler. If you feel Milo may be a good fit in your family, please ask to meet him.

Gretchen was surrendered to a shelter after being with her family for 4 years as she was not getting along with the cats or small dog. Gretchen has gone through some training and was also being trained in search and rescue. Gretchen is very friendly and loves people. She would do best in a home with no small animals as they are just too tempting. An active family that enjoys going for walks/runs, lots of playtime and mental stimulation are best suited for Gretchen. Ask to meet this beautiful girl.

Excalibur is a large, handsome and energetic boy. It is obvious that no one has spent anytime teaching him manners, nor did they do any type of training. He is excitable which causes him to jump up, due to his size we feel he would not do well sharing his home with small children. Training is an absolute must, as this will help him learn good manners and will also help with the bonding process. A person who will offer him guidance, lots of exercise and on going training would best suit his needs. He is very friendly with people, but may be too high energy for some. He is good with large dogs, but would prefer to not share his home with small dogs or cats.
