Basil
ADOPTED 12/11/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Confident little Basil, his mom - Magnolia, and his siblings - Magnum, Blaze, Bud, Cedar, Fleury, Ren, Quill, Daissy, Iris, and Rose - have been living with a foster family for several weeks. This large and lovely family quickly joined the MAGSR family soon after Magnolia arrived at a shelter in labor. As a shelter is no place for moms and pups, staff worked quickly to move Magnolia into our care so that she could raise her little ones in a safe and calm environment. Magnolia has done an incredible job with her pups and has made sure that all eleven of them were well cared for and healthy. However, in a couple of weeks, she will be ready to say goodbye as the entire family will be ready to find forever homes of their own.
Sweet Basil is an absolute joy. Having lived in a household, his foster family has been working hard to develop his social skills. Although he has a good start already, it is imperative that Basil's forever family continue this process. Basil is a calm and confident guy, however, please keep in mind that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, training, socialization and patience, Basil will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to become. Basil is looking for a loving forever home that will commit to him for a lifetime. If this little bundle sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet him today!
Cake
ADOPTED 12/11/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Cake, her mom - Sugar Pie - and her five siblings - Tort, Cobbler, Crumble, Pudding, and Sundae - were dumped in the south when the puppies were just hours old. Fortunately, the right people found them and immediately started networking to help this family move forward. With rescue support provided and a plan in place, the little family was moved into an experienced foster home so that they could receive the love and attention needed to survive. Although they struggled at first, with time, attention, and some extra love, the pups and their mom pulled through.
The dessert puppies are now ready to move forward into their forever families. These adorable little fluffy puppies have had the benefit of living with a loving home. Although they have been well socialized with people and other dogs, it is critical that their new families continue this process as it will help them develop into stable adults. The dessert puppies are absolute sweethearts; however, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, training, and patience, Cake will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. Cake is looking for a loving forever home that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?

Cobbler
ADOPTED 12/11/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely little Cobbler is one of Sugar Pie's puppies. Having been born into the rescue, we have had the unique opportunity to watch her grow. Adopted as a puppy, Cobbler's family adored her. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, they could no longer provide for her. Recognizing that Cobbler deserved a safe and loving forever family, they contacted MAGSR to make sure that Cobbler could move forward safely. We immediately welcomed this lovely little girl back into the MAGSR family at 9 months old and promised that we would find her the perfect forever home.
As a young, affectionate, and energetic girl, Cobbler is looking for an active family that will exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. She will happily come along for a long walk, run, or hike filling each adventure with puppy smiles and love. As a young dog, it is imperative that Cobbler's family continue to socialize her with new people and animals in controlled settings. This will help her develop into a stable and confident adult. Cobbler has had the luck of having lived in a loving home, as a result, she knows many of the ins and outs of household rules. However, she will need to adjust to the structure, routine, rules of her forever home. This will take time and patience as Cobbler learns expectations. Training will be very important for Cobbler as she moves forward. Not only will it help her develop a health bond with her family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Cobbler can't wait to settle into her forever home. Could that be with you?
Magnum

Darling Magnum, his mom - Magnolia, and his siblings - Basil, Blaze, Bud, Cedar, Fluery, Ren, Quill, Daissy, Iris, and Rose - have been living with a foster family for several weeks. Sweet Magnum is a cutie. Having lived in a household, his foster family has been working hard to develop his social skills. Magnum is an absolute snuggle bug, however, please keep in mind that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, training, socialization and patience, Magnum will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to become. Quinney
ADOPTED 12/06/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Beautiful Quinney was confiscated as her family was not providing her with appropriate care. When she arrived at the shelter, staff members quickly recognized that Quinney is a working line shepherd. As these dogs require a handler with some experience, they felt that Quinney would be most successful if she was transferred to a rescue. We were thrilled to welcome Quinney to the MAGSR family.
As is true with most working line shepherds, Quinney is intelligent and driven. She is athletic and full of energy. With high ball and toy drive, Quinney is beyond motivated to work if a ball is involved. She is also a huge fan of the frisbee. This lovely lady is going to be a delight to train with as she is focused and motivated. Training will be critical to Quinney's success as it will not only help her bond to her new family but it will also help her channel her energy effectively. Quinney is looking for an experienced household that can keep her body and her mind well exercised. If this amazing girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Miko
ADOPTED 12/06/2021!
Good With Kids: Older Kids Only
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Miko was adored by his family. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer keep him. Recognizing that this guy would be most successful in a GSD savvy household, they decided to surrender him to MAGSR. Although this was a heartbreaking decision, they knew that Miko deserved a loving family that could commit to him for a lifetime. We promised Miko's family that we would find him the perfect match.
Miko is a big, handsome, and active guy. Playful and a huge fan of playing ball, Miko is looking for an active household that will exercise his body and his mind on a daily basis. Clearly intelligent, Miko does a nice job reading his handler. However, true to the breed, he will find weakness if it exists. As a result, Miko would be best placed in an experienced GSD household. Prior to his arrival, Miko's family made sure that he participated in a board and train program with additional practice on weekends. As a result, he does know several commands. Although Miko has a good foundation already, it is imperative that his new family continue training with him. This will not only help Miko brush up on his skills but it will also help him bond to his new family. Miko is looking for a forever family that will love him for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Willow
ADOPTED 12/02/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Willow's mom loved her beyond words. Unfortunately, she recently passed away leaving sweet Willow behind with a team of friends who promised they would find Willow a loving forever family. Willow's mom did everything she could to make sure that Willow would be safe and cared for even if she couldn't do it herself. When MAGSR was contacted to help Willow move forward, we knew that this sweet girl was special. We promised her caretakers that we would find her the perfect forever family.
Willow is a lovely lady. It is very apparent that her mom took exceptional care of her. She is eager to please and very snuggly. However, as is true of many shepherds, she can be a little timid around new people. Given a little time and some yummy treats, Willow warms up to new people. An intelligent girl, Willow is a quick learner. As is true of all new dogs, she will benefit from training with her new family. This will not only help her develop the skills of a good canine citizen, but it will also help her bond to her new family. Although she is going through a huge change, Willow has adjusted well with her foster family. She greatly enjoys playing with her furry foster brother. Good with dogs of all sizes, as well as cats, Willow is a friendly girl. She is looking for a forever family that will love her throughout her golden years. If this sweet girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Tazanna
ADOPTED 11/29/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely little Tazanna was living with a young woman who loved her but couldn't provide her with the care she needed. Recognizing that this was not fair to Tazanna, her owner surrendered her to another rescue so that Tazanna would have the chance at the life and love that she deserved. Although this was a difficult decision, Tazanna's mom knew that this was in Tazanna's best interest. We welcomed Tazanna into the MAGSR family as it was felt she would be most successful in another region.
Tazanna is a lovely little girl. As is true of many dogs that have lacked opportunities to socialize, Tazanna can be timid with new people and in new situations. However, when given a little time, she warms up nicely. Although her foster family is working with Tazanna to further develop her socialization skills, it will be critical that her forever family continue this process. A well-socialized puppy will develop into a stable adult. Already crate trained, Tazanna is making excellent strides toward becoming housebroken. She is also learning some basic commands and has already learned sit and come. This smart girl will be a joy in training class. Training will not only help Tazanna bond to her new family but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Good with cats and dogs, Tazanna enjoys her furry companions. However, as a puppy, she still does some chasing. As she loves to play ball, Tazanna's foster family will be working with her to redirect that chasing to toys and balls. Tazanna is looking for a forever family that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Freedom
ADOPTED 11/29/2021!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 12
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Freedom was surrendered to a shelter when her family could no longer care for her. As is true of many shepherds, Freedom was fearful upon arrival at the shelter. In order to find a safe and loving home that understands the breed, shelter staff began looking for a rescue that could help Freedom move forward. MAGSR answered the call.
Freedom is a beautiful, curious, and affectionate girl. She enjoys the company of other dogs and seems to understand many of the rules of the dog world. Although Freedom does well with other dogs, she is hesitant with new people. However, when new people are slow and give her the opportunity to warm up, Freedom is a loving and sweet girl. As is typical of all young shepherds, Freedom has some good energy. A big fan of playing ball, this girl would be happy to help her family strengthen their throwing arms. Freedom did live in a household prior to her arrival at the shelter. However, we do not have any information about how this went. She will thrive in an environment where her people go slow, provide routine, and have clear structure. Freedom's family will need to take her to training. This will not only help her develop a strong bond with her new family but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. If your family is looking for a young, athletic girl, ask to meet Freedom today!
Igor
ADOPTED 11/27/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Igor was picked up as a stray in the south. Although he was brought to a shelter where he waited for his family, no one came to claim him. Due to overcrowding at the shelter, Igor needed to get out and fast. When asked if we could help Igor move forward, MAGSR immediately stepped forward.
Igor is in many ways your typical young shepherd. He is young, playful, energetic and a complete goofball. It is very evident that somewhere along the way Igor was socialized with people and other dogs. However, it is evident that he has yet to develop his doggy manners. As a big guy, it is essential that Igor have the opportunity to develop these manners early on with his new family. Training will go a long way with this big guy as it will not only help Igor bond to his new family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. As Igor arrived as a stray, we do not know if he has had the opportunity to live in a household. In many ways he is starting from a clean slate. Like all young shepherds, Igor will thrive in a household where he has structure, routine, and leadership. If this big, sweet guy sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Charlotte
ADOPTED 11/25/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
The young and vibrant Charlotte was dumped on a country road with her 7 puppies. Charlotte is still a giant puppy herself at just over a year old. This sweet little family was taken to an overcrowded animal shelter where they waited to be claimed. When no one arrived to bring them home, a plea went out for help. We knew this little family deserved the comfort and safety of a home and MAGSR stepped up to help.
Charlotte is friendly with everyone she meets including people and other dogs. At this early stage of her adult life she needs to work on her basic obedience and house manners. She will likely need to learn the ins and outs of living in the comfort and safety of a household. With structure, patience, and leadership, we know that Charlotte will thrive. Training will be a critical piece of Charlotte's transition as it will help her bond to her forever family while also building the stability and confidence she needs to become a good canine citizen. If this sweet girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Updates:Charlotte is adjusting well to living in a house. She is crate trained and housebroken. She loves running and playing with her foster fur siblings. We are working on house manners every day! Charlotte can recall her to her name and sit (for treats of course!) She enjoys car rides and belly rubs !!
Sally
ADOPTED 11/22/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sally and her Cars Puppies were rescued in the south by another group. As they wanted to do right by this lovely family, they began reaching out to other groups who would be able to support the family until they were ready to find forever homes of their own. When asked to welcome this family into the MAGSR family, we immediately said yes.
Sally was a known homeless dog in the community in which she lived. She often visited members of the community and was friendly and gentle. When Sally became pregnant, a community member began working with a rescue group to trap Sally and her family. It took some time; however, they met with success and Sally and her babies were ready to move forward to lives of comfort and safety. Sally is an incredible mommy. She has done a wonderful job caring for her 10 babies. However, she now deserves a family of her very own that will love and care for her with the same kindness she has shown her babies. In many ways Sally is still a baby herself. She will thrive in an environment that provides her with the structure, routine, and guidance that all dogs crave. Training will be key to Sally's success as it will not only help her bond with her new family, but it will also help her develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to be. If this lovely girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Alice
ADOPTED 11/22/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Alice was picked up as a stray in the south and brought to a shelter. Although she waited patiently for her family to come and claim her, no one came up to bring her home. Due to unprecedented issues with overcrowding, the shelter staff knew that Alice would need rescue support to make it out alive. When asked if we could help Alice find a safe and loving forever home, MAGSR immediately stepped forward.
Alice is a friendly and loving girl. She does well with humans and people. As an adult dog who must have had some socialization, Alice is stable and confident in her personality. Unfortunately, we do not know anything about Alice's past so in many ways she is starting fresh with her new family. This lovely lady will thrive in an environment where she has structure, routine, and leadership. Training will also go a long way with Alice as it will not only help her bond to her new family but it will also help her further develop into a good canine citizen. Unfortunately, we have learned that Alice is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if Alice had been provided with monthly preventatives. We have already started treatment and Alice is doing well. The cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive but this sweet girl is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Alice's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Alice will need to take it slow over the next few months while she undergoes treatment, she will be back up to full speed soon. Alice is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the love, safety, and structure that she so clearly deserves. If she sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today.
Updates:Alice is loving living with her fosters, it is reported she is a big snuggle bunny who loves attention. Alice can be a little shy when first meeting people, but she warms up quickly. If you are looking for a sweet girl, who just wants to please her humans then this girl is for you.
Ruger
ADOPTED 11/22/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
From about six months of age until February, 2021, every day of Ruger‘s life followed the same neglectful routine - chained up to a pin in the ground outside of her owner’s home. This routine lasted about 16 hours of every day; the other eight hours were spent in a crate in the basement of her owner’s home. Unfortunately, this routine never changed and never included any human interaction, play time, positive interaction, or attention. Ruger was never socialized to other dogs nor did she receive any veterinary care. Her life consisted of a chain, food, water and a small igloo for shelter. When her owner broke his hip, neighbors who had witnessed this horrible neglect took action. They stepped in to have Ruger surrendered and quickly removed from the life she had been living. Ruger went from living on a chain to living in a home with people who would begin to meet her needs.
Despite her past, Ruger is a loving dog particularly, once she has had a chance to adjust to her people and surroundings. Although she is an adult, she acts and plays very much like a puppy. This is largely due to the fact that she never had an opportunity to play prior to her rescue in February. Now that she has had the opportunity to learn about toys, Ruger is a big fan. One of her favorite activities is playing with rope toys and thrashing them back-and-forth. In addition to toys, Ruger has become a big proponent of riding in her foster family's RTV. She is an excellent passenger. She even uses the RTV when her foster family is outside doing yard work as she loves to lay in the seats and soak up the sun.
Having lived in a loving household since the late winter, Ruger has had the opportunity to learn some of the ins and outs of living in a household. She understands many of the rules of living in a home but will need to fine tune those skills to meet the routines of her forever family. Ruger will thrive in a household where she has consistency, structure and routine. Although Ruger has participated in obedience training and knows many commands, she will need to continue training with her new family. Training will not only help her bond with her new family, but it will also help her develop into the stable adult we know she is destined to become. Ruger is looking for a loving home that will care for her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Zero
ADOPTED 11/15/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Cute little Zero was picked up as a stray with another dog in the south. Although he waited patiently for his family to claim him, when no one stepped forward Zero found himself in a difficult spot. Living in an overcrowded shelter and with limited options for moving forward, Zero needed a rescue to step up and help him move forward. When a plea was sent out for Zero, we immediately welcomed him into the MAGSR family.
Zero is a young, energetic, and playful guy. A good athlete and an intelligent guy, Zero is looking for a family that can exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. Routine and structure will help Zero meet with success with his forever family. As we do not know anything about Zero's life prior to his arrival at the shelter, in many ways he is a clean slate. It will be important that Zero's family provide him with the time to adjust to his new life and decompress in his new home. This will help him thrive with his new family. In addition, Zero will benefit greatly from training as it will not only help him bond to his forever family but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. If you are looking for a young, active, and affectionate guy, ask to meet Zero today.
Mikey
ADOPTED 11/15/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Mikey, his mom, and his six siblings - Amy, Rachael, Joe, Monica, Jill, and Phoebe - were dumped on a country road in the south. Covered in ringworm, emaciated, and clearly not well cared for, this little family needed help and quickly. Fortunately, a good samaritan found this family and got them to the safety of a shelter. Although shelter staff did a wonderful job getting this family the help they needed, they knew that moms and puppies do not belong in a shelter environment. As a result, a rescue plea went out. When we heard that this little family needed help, MAGSR immediately stepped forward.
Mikey's loving, affectionate, and social. He is everything that a puppy should be. Although this little guy is a love, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, and training, Mikey will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to become. Mikey is looking for a loving forever household that will commit to him for a lifetime. If your family is looking for puppy kisses, antics, and wiggles, please ask to meet Mikey today.
Updates:Little Mikey is growing! He just graduated to his first “big” dog collar. He is very active and loves to be outdoors. His new family will need to keep his mind stimulated and his body in motion. He is learning to sit and come - what a quick learner he is!
Haru
ADOPTED 11/15/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Haru and several of his siblings were confiscated from their household as their family could not properly care for them. As is true of most shepherds, when moved out of his home and into a crowded shelter, Haru was scared. Fortunately, volunteers recognized that Haru was a special guy and spent some extra time supporting him. Recognizing that Haru would be most successful if transferred to a rescue, they reached out for help. We were happy to welcome Haru to the MAGSR family.
Haru is a young, energetic guy. He enjoys the company of other people and other dogs. Although Haru did not have the care and consistency that a young GSD needs to meet with success, he is quickly adjusting to his new life. Haru is beginning to learn some basic manners but will need continued practice with his new family. Training will go a long way with this guy. A regular participant in doggy playgroup, Haru enjoys the company of other dogs particularly, his brother Haruto. Haru is looking for an active family that will provide him with the mental and physical exercise he needs to develop into a stable adult. If this sweet guy sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today!
Zulu
ADOPTED 11/15/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Zulu is a special guy. This big, handsome boy was picked up as a stray in the south. Although it was highly evident that he needed some help, the shelter staff knew that had an amazing dog on their hands. Zulu has easily won the hearts of everyone who has met him. Recognizing that they simply didn't have the ability to meet Zulu's medical needs, the shelter reached out for rescue help. How could we possibly say no to this guy?
Zulu's has bacterial pyoderma. This means his body is suffering from an untreated skin infection. He had sores throughout his body with clusters on his belly, legs, neck, and back. In order to address his skin we did have to sedate and shave some areas. Zulu is now getting bathed every three days and his skin is starting to heal. On top of his skin issues, it was also discovered that Zulu is heartworm positive. Fortunately, his treatment is already moving forward and everything is going well. Zulu will need to take it slow for another month or two; however, he will be back to full strength soon.
Please consider donating to Zulu's care.
As a social guy, Zulu enjoys the company of everyone. He is even comfortable with kids! It is clear that somewhere along the lines this boy was given the opportunity to socialize with people of all ages. Not just a people person, Zulu also enjoys the company of other dogs. A playful guy, Zulu will happily play a game of fetch. He definitely understands the concept of toys. Having spent some time at the shelter, prior to his arrival at MAGSR, Zulu has begun learning a few basic commands. He, just like all dogs, will benefit greatly from training as it will help him bond with his new family as well as develop into a good canine citizen.
Otis
ADOPTED 11/15/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Otis and his brother were found as strays on a road in Afghanistan by US troops who took them in. Although their bodies told a story of a difficult upbringing, Otis and his brother are extremely affectionate and even tempered. Recognizing that the dogs would not survive if left behind, several service members coordinated and arranged for transport of both dogs back to the United States. Although this was no small feat, Otis and his brother arrived ready for their long awaited and much deserved forever homes.
Otis recently joined the MAGSR family as it was felt that he would have his best chance at finding the perfect forever home through a rescue. This sweet, playful guy is a complete ham. He is a huge fan of attention and belly rubs. We have yet to meet anyone that Otis doesn't like. His social personality brings smiles to everyone around him. Although Otis is good with other dogs, he does need a home where he is the only dog or a home with female dogs. Otis, like all dogs, will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. Training will go a long way with Otis as it will not only help him bond to his new family, but it will also help him become the good canine citizen we know he is destined to be. This sweet, resilient boy is looking for a loving forever family that will care for him for a lifetime. Could that family be you?
Updates:Otis has been around the world and he is one of the happiest and most resilient dogs I have ever encountered. He is fully house and leash trained and a joy to walk as he experiences the world. He will benefit from a consistent, gentle hand to finalize his training but he is quick and eager to learn and please. He loves all people, children and other dogs. He will do best in a setting where he can be active and outside. Look up the breed Afghan Shepherd and you can learn more about this unique breed. He has the potential to be the best companion ever.
Amy
ADOPTED 11/15/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Amy, her mom, and her six siblings - Jill, Joe, Mikey, Monica, Phoebe, and Rachael - were dumped on a country road in the south.
Amy is sweet, affectionate, and playful. She is everything that a puppy should be. Although this little girl is a gem, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, and training, Amy will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. Amy is looking for a loving forever household that will commit to her for a lifetime. If your family is looking for puppy kisses, antics, and wiggles, please ask to meet Amy today.
Scotty
ADOPTED 11/13/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Scotty was a beloved member of his household. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer provide him with the life that they knew he deserved. Recognizing that Scotty would be happiest if he found a new home, they made the difficult decision to surrender him to MAGSR. We promised Scotty's family that we would find him a safe and loving forever home.
Scotty is a stable and inquisitive guy. He enjoys the company of his people and has grown up with little kids. Although Scotty is still learning leash manners, he is a quick study and is attentive to the handler. He should be a star in training class! Training will be essential for Scotty as it will not only help him to adjust to his new family but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. Having lived in a household, Scotty already knows many of the ins and outs of living in a home. He is housebroken and crate trained. However, as is true of any new dog, Scotty will need some time to adjust to his new home in order to meet with success. Scotty is looking for a forever family that will keep him safe and loved for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Jodie
ADOPTED 11/13/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Jodie and her siblings, Anna and Teddy Bear, were brought to a shelter when their owner passed away. Unfortunately, it was apparent that their owner had been struggling to care for these dogs for a while. Fearful and avoidant in the shelter environment, this little family needed out and fast. Knowing we could provide this family with the life and love they deserve, MAGSR welcomed them to the family.
Jodie is a sweet little lady but she is timid. Somewhat hand-shy, Jodie does well with a patient handler who will give her time to trust. Once comfortable, she warms up for love and attention. A big fan of kisses, Jodie is affectionate and cuddly with her people. Due to the condition in which she arrived, Jodie has needed a little extra TLC. She arrived sick with an URI and dirty from lack of care. Fortunately, our amazing vetting partners were able to help Jodie get the relief she needed. With time, patience, and a little support, Jodie is making steady progress. Jodie will thrive in a household that will provide structure, routine, and patience. Unfortunately, we have discovered that Jodie is heartworm positive. This condition could have been avoided had she been provided monthly heartworm preventatives. We have already begun Jodie's treatment. The cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but this lovely girl is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Jodie's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Jodie will need to take it slow over the next few months while she undergoes treatment, this will give her time to adjust to her new environment and meet with success in her forever home. Jodie is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the structure, patience, and love that she so clearly deserves. Could this be with you?
Pilot
ADOPTED 11/06/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Pilot and his buddy, Jet, were picked up as strays and brought to a local shelter. Upon their arrival it was highly evident that these boys had not been treated well by their people. A little unsure about their surroundings, emaciated, and in poor health, shelter staff felt it would be best if these boys were placed with a rescue. When asked if MAGSR could work with the boys to move them forward, we immediately committed to them knowing that we could find these guys a safe and loving forever home.
Pilot is a young, energetic, and playful guy. Although he can be a little shy at first, when given a little time to adjust, he comes around quickly for time and attention. As a teenager, Pilot is still learning all the rules of living in a home. He will benefit from a household that will provide him with the structure, leadership, and consistency that all young dogs need. Pilot is lucky to be living in a loving foster home that is teaching him all about the joys of living in a household. However, just like any new dog, he will need to fine tune his skills in his forever home. Training will go a long way with Pilot. Not only will it help him bond with his new family but it will also help him develop into a stable and confident canine good citizen. If your family is looking for a young, active, and affectionate guy, ask to meet Pilot today.
Miss Jackie
ADOPTED 11/06/2021!
Good With Kids: No
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Miss Jackie and her housemate, Mr. Jack, were used for puppies. Their lives have been filled with little care, comfort, or kindness. When their owner decided that it was time for them to move on, their future options were very limited. Fortunately, another rescue heard about their situation and reached out to MAGSR for help.
Although we knew that both would need some additional love and attention, we also knew they deserved kindness and compassion. Miss Jackie is friendly, interactive, and goofy with her people. She seeks out attention from everyone around and is a bit of a social butterfly. Although Miss Jackie is wonderful with her people, she is not a huge fan of other furry creatures. With a high prey drive, Jackie likely needed this to survive the first 5 years of her life. As a result, she is looking for a home where she can be the sole focus of the family. Miss Jackie has done very well in her previous foster home. She is crate trained and house broken. However, once properly adjusted, she is able to move about freely in the house without causing issues when alone. Having lived in a household, Miss Jackie does understand the rules of living in a home; however, she will need to adjust to the general routine and structure of her forever home. An intelligent girl, Jackie has had some training and knows many of her basic commands. Further training is always positive as this will help Jackie exercise her mind as well as develop a healthy bond with her forever family.
Miss Jackie is a lovely lady who is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the leadership, safety, and love that she so clearly deserves. Could this be with you?
Updates:Miss Jackie is a very sweet girl. She seems to love all humans and loves attention. She is a laid back, easy going dog. She loves going for long walks. She likes playing with certain toys. She is housebroken and crate trained. Miss Jackie prefers male dogs over females, she can be quite reactive to female dogs. She will get along with most male dogs, but when she wants her own space she'll react. I think it's safe to say Miss Jackie likes being the boss and if she had her choice she would like to be the only dog in the house.
Stella
ADOPTED 11/01/2021!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 12
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Beautiful Stella was found on the streets of a big, busy city. She was taken to a shelter with the hopes that her family would come and claim her. Unfortunately, no one came to get this lovely girl. Shelters have been quickly reaching capacity over the last few months and this shelter found itself in the same situation. Although they tried to help Stella find a loving forever home, shelter staff recognized that Stella would be more successful if she was transferred to a breed specific rescue. When we heard of Stella's need, MAGSR welcomed her to the family.
Stella is a gorgeous, playful girl. She can be timid and a little shy when first meeting new people. However, given time and patience, Stella's lovely personality will shine. Having participated in doggy play groups at the shelter, Stella enjoys the company of other dogs and has participated in many doggy play sessions. However, as is true of most dogs when she is tired, she will let the other dogs know she needs a break. As a young girl, Stella will benefit from continued socialization with people, other animals, and in a variety of environments. This will help her develop into a stable adult. Training will also be very important for Stella as it will help her bond with her new family as well as develop the skills needed to become a confident dog.
Unfortunately, we have learned that Stella is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided had she been provided with monthly preventatives. Stella's heartworm treatment has already begun and she is doing very well. The cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but this gorgeous girl is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Stella's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Stella will need to take it slow over the next few months, she will be back to full strength soon. Stella is looking for a loving forever home that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
Skye
ADOPTED 11/01/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Skye was surrendered to a shelter when her family could no longer provide for her. Fortunately, a foster family was able to step up and take her into their care so that Skye could remain in a household while she waited for her forever family. Unfortunately, due to a sad turn of events, Skye's foster was injured and could no longer take care of her. Recognizing that Skye was out of options, rescue groups in the area began searching for a placement in another region. When asked if we could bring this lovely girl into the MAGSR family, we immediately stepped forward.
Skye is the sweetest, well mannered and tolerable girl. She is wonderful with small children, adults, and dogs, and even cats. Although it should be known that she does find the cats interesting. Having lived in a household, Skye is both housebroken and crate trained. She is comfortable and happy in her crate, on the floor, or even on the couch (if allowed). Lovable and affectionate, Skye is a big kisser but may be one of the sloppiest kissers you will ever meet. She is looking for a household that would appreciate a nice balance of playtime, training, and snuggles.
We have learned that Skye is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided had Skye been provided with monthly heartworm preventatives. We have already begun Skye's treatment and the cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but this sweet little girl is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Skye's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Skye will need to take it easy over the next few months while she undergoes treatment, she will be an easy patient as she already knows so much about living in a home. Skye is looking for a forever family that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could this be with you?
Summit
ADOPTED 11/01/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Little Summit was picked up on the side of the road and brought to a local shelter. Upon his arrival it was very apparent that Summit was in need of help and fast. Lethargic, dirty, and emaciated, shelter staff immediately began putting medical supports in place. When it was felt that Summit may be stabilizing, they reached out to MAGSR to see if we could bring this adorable little guy into our care so he could continue to get the support he needed in a more puppy friendly environment. We immediately welcomed Summit into the MAGSR family and placed him with an experienced foster family.
Although Summit entered the rescue feeling a little more like a puppy, unfortunately, this did not last long. Recognizing that Summit was again in need of medical support, his foster family rushed him to the ER. He is currently hospitalized with one of MAGSR's fantastic internal specialists. We are running tests and providing Summit with supportive care while our veterinarians work hard to determine next steps. Although MAGSR will do everything we can to help Summit survive, this is a very expensive undertaking. Please consider donating to Summit's care. Your financial support will not only help Summit but it will also help us meet the needs of other medical dogs.
Updates:Sweet Summit received some fantastic care while at the ER. His little body was given supportive care while x-rays were run and an ultrasound performed. Everything came back looking great. As Summit rested, his body had the chance to begin recuperating. When ready, he began eating again and his puppy-like charms emerged. Within 24 hours, Summit was released to his foster family. Since his arrival back in their home, Summit has been playing, eating, and interacting the way puppies should. A huge fan of toys, Summit happily moves from toy to toy making sure he gives a little attention to each one. He is goofy and playful but also loves snuggles with his people. An incredible house guest, Summit has been making huge progress with housebreaking. He has yet to have an accident in his crate and seems to understand that the outside is for taking care of business. Clearly intelligent, Summit is beginning to learn a few simple commands. Food, praise, and toy motivated, this little guy is going to be the star at training class. Although an absolute joy to be around, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, adn training, Summit will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to become. Summit is looking for a loving household that will commit to him for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
As great as this news is, Houston and Zulu could still use your help.
Haruto
ADOPTED 11/01/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Haruto and several of his siblings were confiscated from their household as their family could not properly care for them. As is true of most shepherds, when moved out of his home and into a crowded shelter, Haruto was scared not knowing what was happening. Fortunately, volunteers recognized that Haruto was a sweet guy and spent some extra time supporting him. Recognizing that Haruto would be most successful if transferred to a rescue, they reached out for help. We were happy to welcome Haruto to the MAGSR family.
Haruto is your typical young, energetic pup. He's playful and goofy personality easily wins over everyone around. Having had little routine or leadership prior to coming to MAGSR, Haruto will need to develop his manners in his new home. As is true of all dogs, training will go a long way for this guy. A regular participant in doggy playgroup, Haruto is a social guy particularly, when with his brother Haru. These two pups simply love to play together. Haruto is looking for an active family that will help him burn his energy both physically and mentally every day. If Haruto sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!
Kaffee
ADOPTED 10/31/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kaffee's family absolutely adored her. As a beloved member of their family, they made sure she had everything she needed and more. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they were unable to continue to provide Kaffee with the life they knew she deserved. As a result, they surrendered her to MAGSR knowing that we would find her a loving forever family.
As a more mature adult, Kaffee's stable and loving personality is a good match for any household. A total love-bug, in many ways Kaffee is the quintessential velcro dog that so many shepherd households come to expect. Fun, happy, and full of tail wags, Kaffee is an active girl who loves to play. She will even play a giggle-filled game of hide-and-seek for some high-value treats. She wanted you to know that hotdogs would be a great option when playing this game. A quiet house guest in her foster home. Kaffee is well mannered on leash. It is highly apparent that her family did a nice job teaching her the ins and outs of good canine citizenship. Although Kaffee already has a lot going for her, she will need to attend training. Training is essential as it will not only help Kaffee bond to her new family but it will also help her transition more smoothly. Kaffee is a big fan of children and does well with most dogs. She is looking for a home that will give her opportunities to go on car rides, play fetch, and soak up lots of love and attention. Kaffee will be a perfect addition to the right family, could that be with you?
Updates:Kaffee quickly settled into her foster home and hasn’t shown any separation anxiety or difficulty adjusting. She is a very affectionate dog who loves to go on walks around the neighborhood, merrily greeting a wide variety of people and dogs along the way. She is an easy, pleasant leash walker, never pulling or balking. At home she’ll play with her ball, catch popcorn, or quietly nap next to her people.
Briscoe
ADOPTED 10/30/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Briscoe was trapped on the streets of a busy city along with his little family. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was quiet and shut down. There was simply so much going on around him and so many new people and sounds. Staff members did notice that although Briscoe was unsure he was beyond sweet. Once given a little time to adjust, Briscoe's calm and collected personality quickly emerged. Although Briscoe's puppies quickly found homes, he was left behind waiting for his turn to find a forever home. Recognizing that Briscoe deserved a loving home of his very own, we welcomed this boy into the MAGSR family.
Both stable and affectionate, Briscoe's sweet eyes win everyone over. He has done well with people and children. It is hard not to fall for this guy. We have learned that Briscoe is heartworm positive. This condition could have been avoided had he been provided with monthly heartworm preventatives. MAGSR has begun his heartworm treatment and Briscoe is doing well. The cost of his entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but Briscoe is clearly worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Briscoe's treatment. Your generosity will help us save him and other dogs with medical needs. Although Briscoe will need to take it slow over the next few months, he will be back to full strength once his treatment is finished. If your household is looking for a stable, loving guy, please ask to meet Briscoe today.
Fred
ADOPTED 10/25/2021!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Fred was confiscated due to cruelty and neglect. Due to court proceedings, this good looking guy waited for several months at a local shelter waiting for his chance at finding a family that would love and care for him for a lifetime. Once given the green light to move forward, shelter staff felt that Fred would have his best chance at finding his forever home through a rescue. When asked if we could help Fred find the perfect forever family, we immediately stepped forward.
Fred is a very handsome guy who was clearly not cared for early in life. Undersocialized with people, he will require time and patience to adjust to new people and situations. Fred prefers a calm, slow handler at first as he gets his bearings. However, given time, structure, and leadership, he does begin to open up. As a young dog, Fred will thrive with routine. He will benefit greatly from training as this will not only help him bond to his forever family, but it will also help him develop the stability and confidence that all dogs need. Fred is looking for a forever home that will provide him with the love and safety he so clearly deserves. If your household sounds like the right match for Fred, ask to meet this boy today.
Junior
ADOPTED 10/17/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Junior and his siblings were part of an accidental litter. His family loved him greatly and took good care of him and his siblings. However, as the puppies grew older, it became difficult to take care of so many dogs. Recognizing that Junior and his siblings would be better able to receive the care and attention they deserved if they were rehomed, Junior's owner made the difficult decision to surrender the group of siblings to MAGSR. We promised that we would find each member of the family safe and loving forever homes.
Junior is a love. He was well socialized in his home with kids and other dogs. However, his family struggled to find time to socialize him in the community. As a result, Junior can be a little timid with new people and in new places. Given time, patience, and guidance, Junior will develop the confidence he needs outside of the household. Just like any young dog, Junior will thrive with structure, routine and training. Training will help him to not only bond with his new family but also develop into the stable adult we know he is destined to be. If Junior sounds like the right match for your household, please ask to meet him today.
Updates:
Junior is a sweetheart that loves to be close to his human. He is crate trained, housebroken and working on obedience. He walks amazingly on a leash and would be a great walking companion with just a couple little tweaks. Junior loves kids. His favorite human in the house is the foster's daughter and her friends. If you are looking for a loving family dog, this is your guy. As you can see from his picture, he is just hanging out waiting for his forever home.
If you are looking for a sweet loving family dog then Junior is the one. He loves all people and would welcome living in a home with another dog. At his foster's he keeps the dad company during the day by laying at his feet under his desk while he works. He loves snuggling, going for walks and helping his foster mom take care of the goats and chickens in the mornings. Junior is still not sure why the chickens need to follow him around on his walks :). Junior has come a long way in his obedience, he will sit for his leash to be attached, he goes in the down position and walks nicely on the leash. Since he is such a social butterfly, he does get excited when he sees other dogs but he is learning he needs to remain calm. Junior is only a year old, so he would love to go running, long walks, playtime and of course snuggling with his human.. If he sounds like a fit, set up a meet and greet with this sweet boy.
Sally
ADOPTED 10/11/2021!
Bruno
ADOPTED 10/09/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Bruno was picked up as a stray in the south. This sweet guy immediately won over the hearts and minds of shelter staff. Recognizing that Bruno deserved the chance at a loving forever home that would cherish him for a lifetime, shelter staff began looking for a rescue that could support Bruno as he moved forward. When MAGSR heard about Bruno, we knew we could find him the perfect forever home.
Bruno is a young and playful guy. As is true of all young dogs, Bruno is energetic. His new family will need to exercise both his body and his mind regularly in order to help him develop into a stable adult. Bruno has shown to be friendly with everyone he meets. It is highly evident that he was socialized at some point. However, it is essential that his new family continue his socialization as he moves forward. Bruno will thrive with structure, leadership, and routine. Training is also important. It will not only help Bruno bond to his new family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. If Bruno sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today.

Sweet Sawyer is a little love. She was welcomed to the MAGSR family as her household was not prepared for a surprise litter. Wanting the best for Sawyer, they decided to send her to rescue. It is highly evident that Sawyer was socialized well in her household. She is your typical playful, goofy, interactive puppy. Although Sawyer is an absolute love bug, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. Teddy Bear
ADOPTED 10/07/2021!

Teddy Bear and his siblings, Anna and Jodie, were brought to a shelter when their owner passed away. Unfortunately, it was apparent that their owner had been struggling to care for these dogs for a while. Fearful and avoidant in the shelter environment, this little family needed out and fast. Knowing we could provide this family with the life and love they deserve, MAGSR welcomed them to the family.
Teddy Bear is sweet but timid. He warms up for love and attention with a little patience. A big fan of kisses, this guy loves to come over for cuddles once comfortable. Due to the condition in which he arrived, sweet Teddy Bear needed to be shaved as his fur was so matted and dirty that it had caused a skin infection. Fortunately, our amazing vetting partners were able to help Teddy Bear get the relief he needed. With some regular baths, medication, consistent grooming, Teddy Bear is slowly healing. His lovely fur will grow back and he will once again have a magnificent coat. Unfortunately, we have also discovered that Teddy Bear is heartworm positive. This condition could have been avoided had he been provided monthly heartworm preventatives. We have already begun Teddy Bear's treatment. The cost of Teddy Bear's entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but this guy is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Teddy Bear's treatment. Your generosity will help us save him and other dogs with medical needs. Although Teddy Bear will need to take it slow over the next few months while he undergoes treatment, this will give him time to adjust to his new environment and meet with success in his forever home. Teddy Bear is looking for a forever family that will provide him with the structure, patience, and love that he so clearly deserves. Could this be with you?
Pricilla
ADOPTED 10/02/2021!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Description: Elvis and Priscilla were abandoned by their family. Fortunately, when a good Samaritan found them, they moved quickly to get them help. Elvis and Priscilla were brought to a local shelter where staff immediately began addressing their needs. Underweight, under-socialized, and lacking vetting care, shelter staff recognized that Elvis and Priscilla would need some extra support to move forward. When contacted to see if we could help them find their forever home, MAGSR was happy to step up. After several months in foster together and a trial separation it was determined that Elvis and Pricilla are not a true bonded pair as they do not appropriately care and nurture each other's needs. In their best interest, MAGSR decided to separate them in order to find them the best permanent home possible for them to continue to grow and develop into beloved family pets.
It is highly evident that Pricilla was not treated kindly by a male in the past as she is very fearful and nervous of men. She will require a lot of time to build trust of any males in the household and bonds very quickly with a female handler. She will need someone with experience to help build her confidence and earn her trust. She lacks appropriate social and behavioral skills towards both people and dogs but is not aggressive. Once she trusts you she is your quintessential velcro shepherd and will follow you everywhere. She is weary of new people and will avoid them at all costs or will anxiously pace if she sees someone from a distance in the yard. She would not do well in a city environment or in a busy household with kids running around. She needs individualized attention and training to address her needs. Pricilla is housebroken and crate trained. She knows: sit, down, come and no. She enjoys going for car rides and will lay down in the back for a quick snooze. She LOVES all things that squeak to include balls, stuffed toys, rubber chickens etc. Once you have Pricilla's trust she will greet you with tail wags, kisses, and want to curl up by your feet or next to you on the couch. She has a sweet and inquisitive personality that is hard to resist. Training will go a long way in helping Pricilla build confidence and overcome her fears and anxieties. Patience is key with this girl and you will have a loving and loyal companion.
Lola
ADOPTED 10/02/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Lola was picked up as a stray in the south and brought to animal control. As is common with shepherds, she struggled at the shelter and needed out as soon as possible. Recognizing that Lola would have her best chance at finding the right forever home with a rescue, shelter staff put out a plea for Lola. MAGSR answered that call.
Lola is an energetic, intelligent, and gorgeous pup. Curious and friendly with people, Lola is social. However, like many young dogs, Lola has not had the routine and structure that all GSDs crave. As a result, she will benefit greatly from training. Not only will this help Lola bond to her forever family but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Fortunately, Lola's foster family has already begun this process and she is rising to the challenge. Lola enjoys the company of other dogs. She would be most successful with stable canine companions. Ready to put her past behind her, Lola is ready for her forever family. Could that be with you
