Gayla
ADOPTED 10/12/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Gayla, puppy to a female GSD and male Great Pyrenees, was dumped at a shelter. Gayla cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Gayla has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a 10-12 year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Gayla will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. If interested and she sounds like a good match for your family, please submit an adoption application for Gayla!
Elke
ADOPTED 10/09/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Our volunteers cannot say enough good things about Elke. She is beautiful, sweet, enjoys humans and well mannered. It is obvious that someone spent time with her as she is obedient and is always checking in with her person looking for direction. She walks pretty good on a leash and will lean into her person.
Jixer
ADOPTED 10/07/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Jixer found himself in a shelter needing some to spring him and that we did. He is a nice friendly boy who gets along with other dogs he has met. This handsome boy is looking for a commitment for his lifetime from his new family. A life full of love, proper care, and of course training.
Updates:We have learned more about Jixer and his past. He was surrendered to the shelter after a family member convinced his family that they were not properly caring for him. He had lived his life on a chain in a circle of dirt. He has never lived in a home and has had no training. Jixer has a lot of energy that will need to be channeled and work with. He will need to learn house manners and of course good obedience training.
Jixer is no couch potato and will require an active family who can keep his energy level in check with both physical and mental exercise.
Cammy
ADOPTED 10/07/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

This sweet girl found herself as a stray which landed her in a shelter. They estimated her to be a year old but her mannerisms are that of a younger dog. She is full of puppy playfulness, kisses, and tail wags. She loves the water and will entertain you as she chases the splashing water around in the pool. Cammy will make a great furry family member and with training, things will get even better.

Oscar
ADOPTED 10/05/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Oscar is the litter mate to Sargeant. He was purchased from the breeder when he was 8 weeks old. His former person has kept outside 24/7. He is a friendly boy, but is lacking in manners as he has had no guidance from his humans. Thankfully we were able to rescue Oscar from living outside with no human interaction. Oscar will need a family who has the patience to deal with a 1 year old puppy who is a blank slate. He will require a commitment from his family to take him to training and guide him to be the best he can be. He has so much to learn, but with the smarts of a GSD he should catch on in no time.

Lars
ADOPTED 10/02/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lars came to us as an owner surrender sadly after his former family got a puppy to replace him. Well it was his lucky day as it is obvious that Lars had not been well cared for. Upon his arrival his fur was filthy, skin dry and missing patches of fur. This gentle boy is now receiving vet care and proper nutrition along with supplements. It is obvious he did not live indoors and most likely was kept on a hard rough surface as he does calloused elbows. Lars deserves a family that will show him what having a real family is all about. A comfortable bed, good nutrition, proper care and lots love.

He has been treated for the fleas and is now on medication to help heal his skin. His beautiful black coat will be looking great in no time. Booker needs a family who can see past his current rough condition knowing that with proper care his exterior will shine the same as his personality and heart does. Please show Booker that their are humans in this world that are kind and loving, ask to meet him.
Sebastian
ADOPTED 10/01/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sebastian found himself in a shelter hoping someone would give him the chance at a second life. He was heartworm positive but has undergone treatment. He is somewhat unsettled with all of the changes in his life, but with time he will settle in.
Updates:Sebastian warms up to people quickly, he follows you wherever you go, and lays down near you, and craves attention all the time. He does have separation issues, needs a secure crate until he gets over his separation issues. He is housebroken, does know basic commands but needs more training. He seems good around kids. He does interact well with other dogs. At night time, if you're around, he does go into his crate and stays there all night with no issues.
Sebastian has settled in nicely to the household routine. He is a sweet, easy-going, well-behaved dog. He enjoys a game of fetch as well as just chilling out close to his favorite human. He welcomes attention and cuddles, and does not like getting left behind. He knows basic commands but could use some reinforcement. He walks well on a leash, will pull when excited but correct easily. He is anxious to make friends with every dog and human he meets. He will make a great companion for someone who has the time to give him.
Rainee
ADOPTED 10/01/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Rainee made her way to us after finding herself in a shelter, we have no idea why this beautiful girl ended up there. She just arrived in our care so we still are getting to know her. She has been friendly with the people she has met and seems to want to please. Of course she will need to go to training with her new family so that she can be a well behaved family member.
Updates:Rainee is a delightful young dog. She’s quite the “head turner,” so very beautiful and very good natured. At about 2 years old she still has an abundance of “puppy” energy, and like all young dogs can be a bit rambunctious, easily distracted, and cautious in new situations that confuse her, but she is very responsive and learns quickly. She is working on her basic commands (although “down” can still often slip into “rub my belly”!), crates beautifully, has not had any accidents in the house, and has been getting along nicely with the other dogs in the structured environment in her foster home. Miss Rainee is a real gem – a “diamond in the rough” that is waiting for her family to find her and give her the care, training, and love she needs to reach her full potential. Please ask to meet Rainee if that might be you!
Gypsy
ADOPTED 09/30/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Beautiful Gypsy has arrived and is looking for a family who will properly care for her. She was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter, her family was notified but when they found out she was heartworm positive they no longer wanted her. We will be sure that she receives treatment for heartworm. Had she been kept on monthly heartworm prevention this would have been avoided. Gypsy seems to be a well mannered girl with a nice energy level. This beautiful girl is looking for a family who will properly care for and provide for her the rest of her life.
Updates:Gypsy is quite the lady of the house! She’s obviously spent time indoors and understands that toilets are for drinking water until she knows where the water bowl is, couches are soft spots to lie on unless you don’t allow that, and very important - she’s knows to go potty outside. She doesn’t pull much on the leash and she’s had some training as she knows sit, paw and down. Like most self respecting pups, she would like to chase those pesky squirrels but we’re limiting her physical activity so we can treat her heart worm. Luckily they come to entertain her on the deck. She is pretty calm and laid back for a three year old. She takes treats gently and isn’t food aggressive with the resident senior pup. If you’re looking for love, this beauty is for you. She’s looking for her forever person - could it be you?
Guinness
ADOPTED 09/30/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Guinness had a rough start in life. He lived with 7 Children that were allowed to torment, tease and hit him. The adults punished him with a shock collar at full strength, hit him in the face, sprayed water at him, put him in a crate that was much too small for him or chained outside. Guinness is with a caring foster who is working with him as he learns to trust humans, especially when it comes to his food and toys. He is loving and friendly but does require positive training and interaction. He enjoys playing and going for walks which of course helps burn off some of that puppy energy.
Updates:Guinness is doing quite well at his foster home. Foster doesn't have any issues with food aggression and does just fine in the right size crate. Does well in car and walks well on leash. He loves playing with other dogs and plays well with toys and bones. Still can be hesitant if approached too quickly, but no aggression. Does well around other people as long as they approach gently. He is great with older kids unknown for young children. Still learning to trust people again.
Tesla
ADOPTED 09/30/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Tesla came to us from a shelter so we have no history on him. He is a young 1 1/2 year old handsome boy who is looking for his forever family and home. He needs some work on his manners and obedience training, but he's a smart boy so he should pick things up quickly. Structure and guidance from his new family, along with lots of exercise will of course be required.
Sommer
ADOPTED 09/24/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sommer we believe is a Shusky (German Shepherd Husky mix) with beautiful blue eyes. She found herself in a shelter along with her mom Adele and sister Faye. She is somewhat shy but her foster is working with her on building her confidence. Training with her new family will help a lot with this, along with socialization. She is looking for her forever home with a family who show her love. Please remember that she is a puppy and will require patience and commitment from her family.
Updates:Sommer is doing well adjusting in her new home. She can be timid at times but a structured routine helps her to build trust. She is working on her bathroom schedule but she is coming along very well.
She becomes a very different puppy when outside that is very eager to chase and play.
She is a stunner and she deserves a great forever home.
Ellie
ADOPTED 09/23/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
We have no idea why Ellie found herself in a shelter other than her former family dumped her there, but we do know she was very scared. She is in a loving foster home now living the good life. Once comfortable in her new surroundings she comes out of her shell and enjoys running around playing. Ellie needs to gain some weight. Please consider Ellie as your next furry family member, she really needs the security of a forever home.
Updates:Ellie is sweet and smart! She’s a bit shy and timid at first and needs time to warm up to you but once she does, she is a love bug. She likes treats and belly rubs. She would be a couch potato if permitted, if not, a soft dog bed will do her just fine. She is completely house broken! She hasn’t had much if any training but she is smart and corrects easily. She is pretty calm and mellow most of the time. She doesn’t object when I look in her ears or check out her paws. She is good around other dogs and would enjoy a companion. She is very gentle when taking treats and sits for her food. She isn’t kid tested but I suspect she would be the perfect lady around them. She rides well in the car. She has a fabulous curly tail and prances like a thoroughbred - check out the video. If you are looking for a sweet, lovable companion and have time to train her - Ellie is your girl. All she needs is gentle guidance and she’s happy to please.
Logan
ADOPTED 09/23/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Logan was purchased off of Craigslist, when the purchaser met him she was appalled by his condition. She immediately reached out to rescue to get Logan the help he needed.
At only 4 months old it was obvious he had been living in a filthy outdoor pen. His smell was very foul, fur was filthy, he had a very round belly and carpal subluxation of all 4 limbs.
He was immediately seen by a vet, his fecal came back with severe hookworms and treatment was started. Sadly 2 days later Logan became quite ill, he was rushed back to the vet where he was diagnosed with parvovirus.
This sweet pup is now fighting for his life in the ICU at the vet hospital. Please keep Logan in your thoughts and prayers.
Comanche
ADOPTED 09/23/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Comanche's family was moving and couldn't take him with them luckily. He was not well cared for, he lived in a muddy outdoor pen and had not been to a vet. Comanche is your typical young pup that needs training and guidance. He needs to learn that jumping up to greet people is not acceptable and he also needs to learn leash manners. This of course will come along with consistency and training. Comanche has lots of puppy energy that will need to be properly directed. This handsome boy is looking for a family who will commit to his training, provide a lifetime of care and of course lots of walks and playtime.
Harmony
ADOPTED 09/23/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Harmony was found as a stray and ended up in a shelter. She is missing a rear paw which appears to be from an old injury. This does not slow her down, she can run and play as well as any 4 pawed dog. She is friendly and very much enjoys a good belly rub. Harmony will need training to help her overcome her dislike of vacuums, hairdryers, etc. This can be easily dealt with by putting her away when these items are in use and of course ongoing training. Harmony will make a loving companion for a very lucky family.
Updates:Sweet Miss Harmony is a friendly little cuddle bug.
Though she is small, she is mighty… Cute. If you're looking for a dog to guard your home, keep looking. Harmony greets everyone she sees with her belly exposed ready for rubs and snuggles.
She is doing well in her foster home. She enjoys attention from children and is getting along with the resident dog. She established boundaries with him letting him know that she doesn't like to roughhouse. Harmony would happily live with another dog but she would be just as happy to be an only dog. She is looking for somewhere that she can be spoiled rotten.
Harmony would not do well in a home with cats. She has a strong prey drive and cats are just way too much fun. She also likes chasing animals when she is outside. Even though she small she can create a significant impact at the end of her leash when she sees a squirrel. So it's important to always be on the lookout and have a good grasp on her leash.
Harmony is learning to respond to her name. She does not come when she's called yet. However once you have her attention she has learned how to sit. She also understands to come and drop it but she does not consistently follow it, yet. Harmony is doing very well with housebreaking her last accident was at the door where we leave to go for walks. So she has figured it out.
Harmony does not mind being crated during the day while the family is at work/school. She even goes in her crate from time to time when people are home to relax. She would prefer to go to a home where somebody lets her sleep on a dog bed on the floor in their room.
Harmony is missing a hind paw for reasons that are unknown to us. However, she has no trouble walking, running, climbing steps, navigating tree branches etc. on a walk. In fact, we're pretty sure Harmony doesn't know her paw is missing. So please don't tell her when you meet her.

ADOPTED 09/22/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Shane and his brother Sean are as cute as can be. We know mom is a GSD but we have no idea what breed dad was. These cute little bundles of joy have so much too learn and will require a patient family who can handle all that comes with puppy love. They will have accidents, they will chew and get into things they shouldn't, they will keep you up at night and require ongoing socialization with other dogs and people. Puppy training is a great start to a well behaved pup. Please be sure you able to make a commitment to him for his lifetime.

Faye
ADOPTED 09/22/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Faye found herself in a shelter along with her sister Sommer and mother Adele. The condition they were in made it obvious that they were not well cared for. All were covered in fleas and underweight. Faye is now in a foster home receiving proper care, nutrition and love. She will benefit from guidance, consistency and training. This will help build her confidence, teach her good manners and bond with her family.
Updates:Faye took little time adjusting to her new foster home. She is very loving and playful. Faye loves playing with the pull toy and walks nicely as part of the pack with the resident dogs. Faye also enjoys time with the resident children, she loves on them and plays very gently with them. We are working on housebreaking and she already has an idea of going potty outside. It is just going to take a little more work. If you are ready for a fun loving puppy that will be a great addition consider Faye.

Good With Kids: Unknown

Bear found himself in a shelter and we cannot imagine why. He is such a nice boy, very laid back and nothing seems to phase him. He is good with other dogs that he has met and enjoys time with people. Ask to meet this big handsome fella, he could be your new bff.
Jake
ADOPTED 09/13/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Jake came to us as an owner surrender as his family could not find anywhere to live that would allow Jake. His family was heartbroken. Jake was their 1 1/2 year old child's best friend, he had been with him since the baby was born. He is a friendly, loving boy who enjoys other dogs and spending time with his people. He loves the outdoors, going for walks and playtime. One of his favorite games is playing keep away when you run after him. Although he is enjoying the comforts of a foster home, he would love to have a forever family.
Titan
ADOPTED 09/11/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

This handsome boy made his way to us as his family is moving and not able to take him with them. He was much loved and well cared for. In his previous home he lived with 2 young children. Titan enjoys the company of other dogs. He rides well in the car, is housebroken and crate trained. He does need work on his leash manners but does correct easily when pulling. Titan would be a good fit for almost any family.
Kit Kat
ADOPTED 09/09/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kit Kat is doing great with adapting to her foster home, with her cohabitant female lab and a bunny. She doesn’t seem to have a prey drive, as she shows no interest in the bunny. She is very sweet and is quick to warm up to new people. I’m amazed at how fast she picks up basic commands and learns the routines of a new environment. She came into rescue with Parasites and a respiratory infection although she is improving every day and has great appetite, which should help with her being a bit underweight. She seems new to being on a leash, so I’m working on her leash manners, although she is picking up the routine and processes quickly. She has no food aggression issues, and does well in a crate. She is housebroken, and will kindly let you know when she needs to go. She loves being by your side, and will follow you around, seeking attention and waiting for direction. If you’re looking for snuggle buddy, that will provide unconditional love, give Kit Kat a chance.
Julie
ADOPTED 09/08/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Julie was adopted from a shelter when she was just a puppy, sadly she somehow ended up back at the shelter 3 years later. Julie is an energetic girl, it is obvious her former family did not spend time training with her. Training is so very important as it provides a well balanced dog who knows what is expected of them and teaches them good manners. It is never too late for training and Julie is eager to learn.
Updates:
Julie loves to chase her big red ball.

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Bella made her way to us from us a shelter.
She was surrendered to the shelter due to ongoing allergies/skin issues. She is now under the care of our vets who are treating her, she has also been switched to a grain free diet.
She has made great improvements medically, but still has a way to go. We are hopeful with the care that she is receiving we will get this under control.
Bella is so sweet and loving, in her previous home she lived with 6 children and other dogs.
Updates: Lucy
ADOPTED 09/06/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Lucy, how such a friendly and loving dog ended up at a shelter is unknown. Lucy loves everyone she meets, she greets them with tail wags and tries solicit belly rubs. Another dog to play with is lots of fun, or a family that will engage in playtime, long walks and lots of cuddle time would make Lucy very happy.
Updates:Lucy is adjusting very well to her new home.
She enjoys longs walks fetch and lots of love and attention. She is very excited whenever approached by a new friend and she politely sits and waits to be loved. She is great on the leash and great in the car taking the scenic route.
I know she would thrive in any loving home but I really think she would love company from other dogs and possibly cats. She is gentle and caring and needs a great family to share a forever home!
Layla
ADOPTED 09/02/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Layla came to us as an owner surrender as she did not enjoy sharing her home with cats. They were just too much fun to chase which they did not appreciate. Other than cats she will happily share her home with other dogs. She will require training and a family who set boundaries and provide guidance as she learns what is expected of her. She is young and eager to learn.
Updates: Layla has been in her foster home for a week now and is the sweetest cuddle puppy ever. She doesn't know that she weighs over 50lbs and she doesn't care, she is sure that she'll fit in your lap.
Prior to her surrender, she lived her life, alone, in a pen in a yard. She is now learning proper household manners. She responds to the correction of a spray bottle of water. In fact, she only needs to see the bottle now. She is doing very well with house breaking and has more accident free days, even though she is taking prednisone, which causes excessive thirst and urination. She is keeping her crate dry for up to 7 hours.
Layla spent so much time alone in the past that she doesn't complain about being in a crate. However, she's starting to avoid getting in the crate in the first place. To help develop a positive association she eats in her crate.
Layla loves children, even little ones, but she is rambunctious and might knock them over. She is exceptionally welcoming to little people and their awkward advances. She clearly enjoys toddlers. Of course, like all dogs, she requires appropriate supervision to make sure that she doesn't knock a child down the steps or snatch a snack and get a finger. She has not shown any aggression over food or toys but she does not always remember to take treats nicely.
Layla has enjoyed everyone who she has met, readily offering her belly for rubs. She is not a couch potato. She enjoys jogging, chasing balls, and rough housing with her canine foster brother. She would do well as a companion for another energetic dog and/or a family that spends time outdoors and wants to bring their happy-go-lucky dog along.
She was reported to be a cat chaser. She met cats and small dogs on walks and in the kennel and has shown playful interest but doesn't show any aggression. Because she is energetic and does not know her size, teaching boundaries with smaller animals is important. However, she likely could be taught not to chase cats and small dogs.
Layla came into her foster home not knowing the command "sit," struggled with walking down stairs, and didn't understand how to walk on a leash. She is so young and puppy-like that training her is fun she and she is learning quickly.
Many shepherds do not do well with in a home with lots of new people coming and going. Not Layla! She loves anyone, anytime, anywhere, she would love you too
Hayden
ADOPTED 09/01/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Hayden is a calm, easy going boy. He lost his family and home as they had way too many pets, so he was surrendered to a shelter. He lived in his previous home with dogs of all sizes, including Chihuahuas. Hayden would love to have a family of his own, a place to call home where he can relax on a comfy bed, spend time with his family, go on walks and feel safe.
Updates:Hayden is a handsome, distinguished boy who loves being with his people. Since we have taken him in, he has followed both us to stay nearby. Hayden has showed us that he is calm and easy going. It took him only a day to warm up to our little pocket shepherd and plays really well with her. Generally, Hayden will relax by our sides, take occasional naps, or sit by the window to watching outside happenings. Hayden is incredible easy to walk, staying close by our sides and never pulls. He is completely housebroken as well.
If you are looking for a handsome GSD who loves his owners, easy going, and gentle then he would be a great addition to your family.

Reggie came to us from a local shelter. He's a good looking, young, exuberant, energetic boy that is eager to learn about life. He appears to not have had much in the way of training but is a quick learner. He is outgoing and fun to be around with people he is used to but can sometimes be unsure of new people depending on the situation.
With that said, we are working on socializing him and teaching him how to properly conduct himself. He loves to go for rides in a vehicle and does so quietly. He also loves to play ball but can be a hard chewer. We are confident that he will thrive in a group training program and will provide updates as we learn more about him.
Karma

Sweet Karma came to MAGSR underweight and from a very sad situation. Karma previously lived in a hoarding situation with 14 other dogs. Karma was underfed and used for breeding. Because of all that Karma has endured, she is confused and just needs to learn to trust and know she'll be well taken care of. Now that MAGSR has Karma, we hope she will quickly adjust and learn that she will receive regular meals, attention, and proper socialization. If Karma sounds like the right dog for your household, please ask about her today.
Care for these hoarding rescues is putting a severe strain on MAGSR's resources. Donations towards their treatment would be greatly appreciated, this would also help us save other dogs with medical needs.
Updates:Sadly, sweet Karma tested heartworm positive when seen by a MAGSR vet, she obviously was not kept on monthly Heartworm Preventatives which would have protected her. She is currently undergoing heartworm treatment to rid her body of Heartworms so that she may enjoy many more years of life. Treatment is expensive but Karma is certainly worth the cost.
Donations towards her treatment would be greatly appreciated, this would also help us save other dogs with medical needs
Karma has settled in nicely to her foster home and is enjoying her new life while she awaits her forever home. She enjoys hanging out with her foster brothers and sisters, getting out for her short walks, and giving lots of kisses and tail wags to whomever she can reach. Karma has a sweet and playful personality that gets along with kids and other dogs.
Also, Karma’s heartworm treatment is going well. Treatment is relatively easy to do, it just takes a few months. It requires an oral antibiotic with her meals for the first month, and three injections over the course of last two months. After receiving the injections, she is put on crate restriction to limit activity and help her recovery. This crate restriction is actually a great time to adopt the dog, as it allows the dog to get used to their new home in a calm environment and to slowly introduce freedom in the house. Karma is available for adoption while she’s receiving treatment, so if you’re interested in meeting this sweet girl, contact your adoption coordinator today!
Sweet Karma was returned to MAGSR through no fault of her own - her family was not able to keep her. Karma is finishing up her heartworm treatment and she has been wonderful through it during her crate restriction. Karma is very anxious to be adopted by a family who will commit to her for her life and to start her life heartworm free. If snuggles and kisses sound like something you're looking for, then Karma may be a good fit for your family, so please ask to meet her now.
Kolbi

Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Kolbi was adopted from a shelter at 3 months old and found herself back at the shelter 1 year later. We are unsure what happened during that year. She can be timid with new people and will keep her distance, but given time she comes around. She enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those that will engage her in playtime. Kolbi is in a foster home, settling in and getting use to her surroundings. Watch for updates from her foster family.
Updates:Kolbi (KB) is a very shy girl who craves attention. She will be hesitant to meet someone new at first, but with a little patience and a lot of love, she will be your best friend.
Kolbi is great with other dogs, though can be protective of her food. She has a lot to learn, but is very quick on picking up what you want from her.
Kolbi needs a home that will include her in activities, such as walking or running; however, she prefers a relaxing environment that isn't full people entering and leaving all the time.

Maya found herself at a shelter for reasons unknown. She now has another chance at a better life. She is very sweet and laid back. She has good manners and walks nicely on a leash.
Updates:Prior to coming to MAGSR, Maya endured a trama to her back left leg which resulted in a torn ACL. As a result, Maya underwent a TPLO, or tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy, in early July. Maya came through the surgery well and has been an amazing patient throughout the recovery process. At this time, Maya is participating in weekly physical therapy appointments where she regularly draws a crowd due to her fun-loving personality and beautiful face. Although Maya is not yet ready to be running around chasing a ball or playing with her foster siblings, she is looking for a forever home. As a young, energetic girl, Maya is looking for a family that will help her finish up her recovery, as well as, provide her with a the love, exercise, and training that all dogs need to become good canine citizens. If Maya sounds like a good match for you family, please ask to meet her today.
As Maya's care has been both important and expensive, donations towards her treatment would be greatly appreciated. These donations help us offset costs so that we can save other dogs with medical needs.
Mistique

Mystique, a beautiful, young girl looking for her forever home and family. She is settling into her foster home, getting to know the resident dogs and her foster family. She is a blank slate, but ready to learn all that she needs to know to become a well mannered family member. Watch for updates from her foster family.
Updates:She is a very sweet girl who is a little timid with people but loves to play with other dogs. She seems to be a hoarder of anything on the floor...bones, toys. She is not possessive or toy aggressive, just likes to collect items in her kennel. She does very well in her kennel without any issues. She is still learning what a leash is but doesn't fight it. She is still a pup and doesn't have a lot of life experiences such as steps! She learns quickly and once she feels comfortable with you, she is very affectionate.
Farrah

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Farrah came to us from a local shelter. The shelter staff told us that she was very sweet and wow, were they right! Once she warms up to you, she will give little kisses. Though Farrah is a little timid in the noisy kennel environment, she is still pretty outgoing even after all the change she has been through recently. She doesn't appear to have been taught any commands. But she is quick to learn and is very inquisitive about what is expected of her and what she is being exposed to. Farrah rides quietly in a vehicle once she jumps in. She doesn't seem to understand what toys are about which is kind of sad. But we are confident she will learn in no time. She also met an adolescent boy today while we at the shelter and she was fine with him. Again, she was curious; just taking in the world around her. Though she is estimated to be approximately 4 years old, in some ways she acts much younger and somewhat puppy-like at times.
She was introduced to two MAGSR alums today; Snowy (seen receiving kisses from Farrah) and Karma (smaller white and cream mix) and she really liked both of them. She was very comfortable around both and she would do well in a home with a well mannered dog who she can learn from.
Updates:Farrah has settled nicely into her foster home. She really is just the sweetest thing! She is working on house training, but she isn't there quite yet. She is still a little shy when first meeting new people, but will warm up quickly. She is so eager to please and is very smart- she is coming along nicely with basic commands. She is now comfortable with cars and will jump right in, then rides nicely in them. She knows what toys are now and is a chewer! But she won't chew on anything that isn't hers. She has excellent house manners and isn't destructive at all! She would do great in a house with another dog to keep her company. She is just an absolute sweetheart and don't miss the opportunity to meet her!
Woodrow

Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Woodrow along with his brother Luther have not had the best of care, but through their years of neglect they have been best buddies and the one constant in their lives. These boys are very bonded and would not do well separated, they must be adopted as a pair. The boys are settling into their foster home together and experiencing a life of love and comfort that they so deserve.
Woodrow is about 30 lbs underweight, he also is missing fur with sores on his body which the vet feels is caused by a Flea infestation which caused dermatitis. He is now receiving the care and nutrition he so desperately deserves and is under the care of our vet. We think he is very handsome and will only be even more so once his fur grows back and he gains some much needed weight.
