Ace
ADOPTED 10/16/2016!
Good With Kids: Older Kids Only
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Ace was surrendered by his family as he was not getting along with the older male GSD in the home. His family loves him very much, but realized it would best for all that Ace find a new home. Ace lived with another male and female GSD, he did not have any issues with the female. He has been around children and did well, but he does get spoked when they run up on him, for this reason it would be best that Ace only go to a home with older respectful children. Ace loves attention from his family, he is crate trained and has good house manners. Ask to meet this handsome boy.
Herb
ADOPTED 10/16/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Herb along with his brothers Jasper and Malakai were farm dogs, living outside free to roam where ever they wanted to. Often times they ate trash and anything else they could find. Herb was the underdog of the group often being picked on by his brothers which resulted in scarring of his face.
Herb would love to put his past behind him and to learn the manners to be a good house dog. He will require someone with the patience it will take to teach him what is expected of him in a home with loving family. Herb deserves the chance to experience the comforts of a home, good food, a soft bed and lots of love
Dakota
ADOPTED 10/16/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Dakota was surrendered to the shelter when his person became ill and could no longer care for him. He is reported to be a very friendly boy, enjoying the company of people and other dogs. He met some cats while at the vets office and did well with them. At a year old he is still a puppy in need of training, guidance, and structure. He will require patience while he learns good canine manners.
Hayley
ADOPTED 10/12/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Hayley is a young beautiful girl with a lot of energy. She is in need of an active family who can help direct her energy. Hikes, walks, runs, playtime and training will certainly help with dealing her energy. She is no couch potato, she will require daily activity in order to keep her engery in check. If you feel that you can provide for a high energy girl, ask to meet Hayley.
Rory
ADOPTED 10/07/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Rory was surrendered to MAGSR after he was severely injured while breaking out of his crate and having a bookcase fall on him. Rory had lacerations to his ear and shoulder caused by the latch on the crate with a hairline fractured his shoulder from the bookcase falling on him, which should heal on its own with proper restrictions. As is true of all puppies, Rory is sweet, cute and cuddly. Rory will require a lot of attention, time, and patience from his new family. He has a lot to learn and will need leadership and guidance in order to become a good canine citizen. He will get into things, chew on inappropriate things, have accidents, whine, and want lots of attention and love. Rory will need proper food and vet care for the rest of his life. In return, he will smother you in puppy kisses and cuddles while entertaining you with his puppy antics. If interested in Rory, please be sure you have the time and patience to raise a puppy and commit to him for his entire life.
Tye
ADOPTED 09/30/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Tye once had a family of his own we he peacefully lived with children, dogs and cats. When his family moved Tye was not included, so he found himself at a shelter. Tye would love to once again have the comforts of a home and the love of a forever family.
Updates:Unfortunately, Tye was returned to us as once in the adopters home he was showing behaviors we had not seen. Although he had lived with children and another dog prior to being surrendered, once in his new home he did not seem to do well with the neighborhood children. Tye is now back in our care, our volunteers are spending more time with him. Since living with a trainer, Tye has been reported to be doing excellent and is friendly with all people he has met. Tye will need someone who is willing to take the leadership role and take him training to establish a positive bond between him and his handler. Tye takes direction well and is very intelligent. Please request to meet Tye is you are interested.
Luke
ADOPTED 09/29/2016!
Good With Kids: Older kids only
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
This sweet, loving, senior boy who devoted his life to his previous family was repaid for those years with being dumped at a shelter. Why, because they no longer had the time for him. The condition he arrived in our care showed that this family never had time for him, his nails were so over grown that he had a very difficult time walking, his beautiful long coat was dirty and matted and he had a skin infection. Well his life has changed for the better, he is now in a loving foster home living the life he so deserves.
Luke bonds quickly with his people, he is getting around well after his much needed nail clip and has a nice pep in his step for a senior. He has been examined by the vet and is being treated for the skin infection. Seniors are wonderful, they have so much love and kindness to give. Please don't let Luke's age deter you, he deserves a true family to call his own and to spend his senior years with.
Updates:Luke is settling in nicely to his foster home. He's getting stronger every day in MAGSR's care and when he walks, he's almost prancing around and seems so happy. He likes to play with toys, play catch with his ball, and is becoming more active. If you're looking for a companion and would consider one who has lived a little, please consider this senior boy who still has a lot to give.
Luke's foster mom took Luke in thinking she would be getting an old guy that really couldn't do much, but she has been very surprised. MAGSR was told Luke is 12 yrs old, but his foster mom think he's a few years younger than that. While Luke may not be for someone who wants to hike 10 miles or someone who wants a dog to run or jog with, Luke is now taking several walks a day and can easily walk 1/2 mile without difficulty. Luke is very affectionate and loves all attention he gets. Luke would make someone with a quiet lifestyle a great dog and companion. Please schedule an appointment to meet Luke!
Rougie
ADOPTED 09/25/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Rougie came to us as an owner surrender, as her family could no longer care for her. Rougie has been stable on enzymes and living with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) for two years. EPI can be very well controlled with proper nutrition and adding enzymes to his food which helps with digestion. More information can be found at this link: http://www.epi4dogs.com along with before and after pictures of dogs that have EPI.
Phelps
ADOPTED 09/22/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Our handsome boy Phelps found himself roaming the streets as a stray which landed him in a shelter. He has been friendly with those at the shelter and our volunteers. As he is new to us we are still learning more about him, we will post updates. Training of course is required, this will teach him good manners. He is young and untrained so he will require someone who will set boundaries, has experience with the breed, along with the time, patience and knowledge he will need.
Lassie
ADOPTED 09/18/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lassie was surrendered to us as her family was moving out of the country and could not take her with them. In her former home she lived with dogs, cats and birds. Pretty Lassie would love to once again be in a home with a family of her very own. Ask to meet Lassie to see if she is a good fit for your family.
Bruno
ADOPTED 09/18/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Bruno is a big handsome boy who is need of training to help him learn good leash manners, not to jump on people and to be a good canine citizen. He gets along well with other dogs, although he may be too exuberant in his play with some dogs. Training will certainly go along away in helping Bruno and his new family learn more about each other.
Mattie
ADOPTED 09/18/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Mattie was picked up as a stray so we do not have any information from her past. She has been friendly with those she meets and gets along well with other dogs. She has a medium engery level, she enjoys playtime, walks and being with her people.
Evie
ADOPTED 09/17/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Evie was surrendered at a shelter when her family decided to move. They took the 3 month old male GSD but didn't take her. Evie lived with children in her previous home - the youngest child being 4. She is reported to be housebroke and trustworthy in the home. Evie is a sweet girl looking for a family who will love her for life.
Updates:Evie is doing well in her foster home and recovering from a pretty bad case of pneumonia. Evie is a very sweet girl and is very attentive and affectionate and focused on her handler. Evie will need structure and training, as all the pups do, and is waiting to fully recover and move on with her life and her new family. Please think about meeting Evie because she is waiting to meet you.
Evie was returned to MAGSR after a year, through no fault of her own, but because her owner could no longer provide care for her. Evie's foster reports that she is confused and nervous in her temporary home. Her fosters slowly introduced her to all of their resident dogs a little bit at a time, but for now, are allowing her to decompress in her crate and will continue to integrate her into the pack gradually and at her own pace. On walks around the neighborhood, Evie seems to be okay, but she is very sad she is now without a permanent home. Evie walks well on a leash and was friendly with the neighborhood kids. Evie is such a sweet dog just wants to find a family who will love and commit to her. If Evie sounds like a good fit, please ask to meet her.
Kobi
ADOPTED 09/17/2016!
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kobi's family loved him very much but could no longer care for him. They wanted to be sure that he finds a great new family so they put his care and future in our hands. Kobi is a big boy at 100 lbs, but he is easy to handle. He will require some training to teach him and his new family how to work together, which will help create a bond. He is very friendly and gets along with other dogs.
Ceasar
ADOPTED 09/10/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Due to unforeseen changes in Ceasars families lifes they were no longer able to care for him. He is a friendly boy who gets along with children and other dogs. While he does have some basic obedience training, we do require that all of our adopters complete a minimum of 6 week training with their adopted dog. Training is much more than teaching the basics and good manners, it helps socialize the dog and also creates a bond with their new family.
Steiger
ADOPTED 09/08/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Steiger is a large young pup who has had no training or direction in his life. He is a blank slate and would benefit greatly from training with his new family. All dogs benefit from having boundaries set and a good pack leader. Steiger wants to learn and needs your help so that he can be a good canine citizen. He is still pretty much a puppy at only 10 months old so he will need patience and time to settle into a routine and his new home.
Hemlock
ADOPTED 09/05/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Hemlock was very much loved by his family but his owner was deployed and his family looked to MAGSR to find Hemlock a loving and caring home. He is a beautiful boy who is very friendly with everyone he meets. He loves to play fetch, Frisbee and loves to cuddle. He has carpus valgus in his left front joint. It has been established that this condition most commonly occurs in rapidly growing medium to large breed dogs. Some evidence suggests male puppies are more likely to be affected by this condition. This condition does not stop Hemlock from running and playing and having fun. If you can provide this handsome boy a loving home please ask to meet Hemlock today.
Updates:Hemlock was returned to MAGSR when his family could no longer care for him. Hemlock is a young and energetic dog who has now broken the plate in his leg causing turning of his leg again. MAGSR is working with surgeons to determine the best course of action for Hemlock so that he can move forward with his life with a new family. Hemlock's recovery will require time and patience and following a strict set of guidelines for any adopter. Please ask to meet Hemlock if he sounds like a good fit for your family.
Hemlock (or ‘Lock, as his foster mom calls him) may have a crooked leg, but it doesn’t stop him from having fun! He is a high energy dog with a goofy personality and a lot to say! Playing with his Frisbee, swimming, going for long hikes, and riding in the car are some of his favorite activities. If you’re looking for a dog to share in your adventures, he’s your guy! As long as he gets his daily exercise, he will happily snuggle on the couch and watch TV with you (but much prefers to bring you toys so you can toss them). He loves to play with his foster fur sister, but sometimes gets a little jealous if he’s not the main focus. He knows many tricks, and would love to learn more! He’s still young, so does have to be reminded of the rules, and going to training will help with that. He’s potty trained and crate trained, but he rarely stays in his crate because he’s just so good in the house! If you can provide the patience, love, care, and commitment he deserves, please ask to meet him!
Shorty
ADOPTED 09/04/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Shorty, who is actually a tall lanky boy was surrendered as his person could no longer care for him. It is obvious that he was loved and well cared for. Shorty is a lot of dog, weighing in at 100 lbs he is very strong and pulls quite hard when being walked on a leash. He has no formal training which he would benefit from greatly. He is super friendly and very sweet with everyone he meets, although he does like to greet them barks. He needs to be taught dog on dog social skills, he does get along with other dogs but has not had much exposure to them so he is not quite sure how to interact. If you have the time to devote to Shorty's training he will be a well mannered boy in no time, as he is very smart and picks up quickly.
Spirit
ADOPTED 08/27/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Spirits family was deeply saddened that they had to surrender her, but unfortunately some unexpected changes in their life's made it so they could no longer care for her. Spirit is a lovely, happy and friendly girl who has so much love to give to her family. She would love to have the chance to meet you so that she can steal your heart.
Karma
ADOPTED 08/26/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Karma was surrendered because her humans could no longer take care of her. As is true of all puppies, Karma is sweet, cute and cuddly. Karma will require a lot of attention, time, and patience from her new family. She has a lot to learn and will need leadership and guidance in order to become a good canine citizen. She will get into things, chew on inappropriate things, have accidents, whine, and want lots of attention and love. Karma will need proper food and vet care for the rest of her life. In return, she will smother you in puppy kisses and cuddles while entertaining you with her puppy antics. If interested in Karma, please be sure you have the time and patience to raise a puppy and commit to her for her entire life.
Roger
ADOPTED 08/25/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Roger landed in a shelter after being found as a stray. He is underweight, but with good nutrition, a bath, lots of love and the comforts of a home he will be tiptop in no time. Roger is a gentle soul, easy going and friendly. Ask to meet this sweet boy.
Julia (2)
ADOPTED 08/21/2016!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Julia came from a shelter, she was not in the best of shape. She had a large hematoma in her ear along with an ear infection. We had the hematoma surgically removed and she is recovering well. She is a very calm and laid back girl, she would make a great family member for someone who is not looking for a high energy dog. Julia would be happy to be sitting by your side, hanging out and being loved on.
Lissy
ADOPTED 08/20/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lissy was surrendered because her humans could no longer take care of her. As is true of all puppies, Lissy is sweet, cute and cuddly. Lissy will require a lot of attention, time, and patience from her new family. She has a lot to learn and will need leadership and guidance in order to become a good canine citizen. She will get into things, chew on inappropriate things, have accidents, whine, and want lots of attention and love. Lissy will need proper food and vet care for the rest of her life. In return, she will smother you in puppy kisses and cuddles while entertaining you with her puppy antics. If interested in Lissy, please be sure you have the time and patience to raise a puppy and commit to her for her entire life.
Updates:Lissy is such a well behaved girl for a pup of her age. She is learning to walk nicely on a leash. She loves to give lots of puppy kisses and enjoys a good belly rub. She is crate trained and enjoys her crate time for some R & R. She does well with dogs of all sizes. Lissy will not be a large girl, which actually makes handling her that much easier. If you are looking for a well socialized girl, great with children, cats and other dogs then Lissy is your girl.
Forrest
ADOPTED 08/19/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Forrest cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little boy, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Forrest has a lot to learn about being a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a 10-12 year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Forrest will become even more of an amazing boy than he already is. Please inquire if Forrest sounds like a good match for your family.
Stefi
ADOPTED 08/13/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Meet Stefi one of our new girls looking for her forever family and home. Walks, playtime, socializing and love will make Stefi a happy pup. Training of course will help her and her new family learn more about each other.
Updates:Hi, my name is Stefi (like Graf for those who remember her). I am totally cute, soft and sweet. Everyone comments on how incredibly soft I am – you won't find another dog as soft as me – and I love being petted, getting belly rubs, and generally just being with you. Within 1 minute of meeting you I will be in belly rub position. I know I don't look like a typical GSD, but it's in my heart – I am loyal, I listen and I love. I have highly expressive ears – they go all directions and even flat – and they help you understand what I am thinking. And along my back and around my neck my fur is a little 'curly'. My foster mommy thinks it charming. People comment that they think I am a puppy – I have great energy, have large paws, and sometimes act a bit goofy. But I have the great things that puppies don't: I am housebroken, I do settle and I come when called, etc. So other bits about me: I love cuddles and dog toys, I need to continue learning my leash manners, sometimes I am a bit too much when meeting other dogs but will settle into it but you'll have to help me, I am a total sweetheart and I will steal your heart. I love stretching out and laying in some interesting positions. Squirrels are fascinating to me, but I didn't show much interest in cats (though haven't been officially tested yet). I love love love kids – just check out my video on my profile. I am the gentlest dog when taking treats, easily eat my meds with my food, am a bit of an escape artist but I don't get in trouble, and I am crate trained – though would rather be out with you. Contact MAGSR and learn more about me. I'd love to meet you and find my forever home!
Sable
ADOPTED 08/10/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sable along with her puppy Honey were surrendered due to their person moving. Sable is an absolute sweetheart. She is very friendly, greeting people with kisses and tail wags. Sable's puppy days are over, it is time for her to live a life full of love, playtime, walks and being with her people.
Sable arrived to our care with what we were told was a cyst on her eye. We had her seen by a specialist and it turns out that Sable has a tumor on her eye. The tumor is in a location that makes trying to remove the tumor very risky, it also makes it very difficult to do a needle biopsy. In order to determine if the tumor is cancerous her eye will have to be removed and sent for pathology. Sable will be having her surgery shortly.
Little Ms. Sable tolerated her surgery well. She has some discomfort but is adjusting fairly well with her eye sight. Every day we see improvements. She will have to continue to wear the e-collar to prevent any injury to her surgery site until her stitches are removed and she is healed more. She is bumping around the house but learning as she goes. Through all of this Sable still remains very sweet and friendly. What we have learned so far is Sable is crate trained, good with other dogs and is very friendly with our resident cats. Once outside she has learned to follow her foster friends around by latching onto the back of them with her e-collar and follows behind them until she feels confident enough to venture off on her own. Ms. Sable is a easy going girl, loves everyone and will fit into any home. She doesn't seem to know any commands but we will work with her once she is feeling better. Please send healing thoughts her way.
Ziggy
ADOPTED 08/06/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Ziggy is a very handsome black GSD. He is friendly with other dogs and people, he has lived with children in the past ages between 4-14 years old. He is housebroken and crate trained. Ziggy has no leash manners and will jump and pull on the leash, he was not leashed walk much in his previous home, so training will go a long way. Ask to meet this big handsome boy.
Sheba
ADOPTED 08/06/2016!
Good With Kids: Older kids only
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sheba is what we lovingly call a pocket Shepherd due to her smaller size. Don't let her size deter you though as she has many of the wonderful qualities of a full size GSD, just in a smaller package. Sheba is confused with the changes in her life, we are giving her time to settle in and get to know her better.
Updates:Sheba has been in her foster home now for a few weeks and is really settling in with her foster family. Sheba is super sweet and just an all around great dog. She's also amazing with the resident cats - allows them in and they even allow her to lick/sniff them without running away. Ask to meet Sheba if she sounds like a good fit.
Sam
ADOPTED 08/05/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
A neighbor found Sam tied to a tree after his family moved away and left him. Thankfully this good samaritan found him, had him seen by a vet then reached out to us to find Sam the home and family he deserves. Sam is somewhat skittish and needs a little time to be comfortable when meeting new people. Once he trusts you he becomes relaxed, enjoying walks and playtime. He will of course need his family to commit to training with him, this will help Sam become more socialized, build his confidence, learn all that he needs to know and of course create a strong bond with his family. Sam needs some work so please be sure you are able to devote the time that is required to help Sam move forward.
Updates:Sam has spent the last few months in a board and train program. Sam came to us having not been well socialized, lacking confidence and fearful. The trainers have brought him a long way, but it is an ongoing process. Sam will require an experienced and knowledgeable GSD handler. It is also required that his new person continues with his training in order for Sam to continue on the right path. Sam does bond with his handler, but requires time to accept new people. If you are interested in Sam it is required that you meet him and follow the directions of his trainers at K9-Koncepts http://www.k9koncepts.com to ensure a good fit for all. If you would like more information on Sam we can put you in touch with his trainers.
Sam is a very handsome, active 5 yr old altered male just reaching maturity. Sam is very sweet, but still shy - he will bond to his handler and definitely needs to be well exercised on a daily basis. Sam has completed basic obedience training, knows basic commands such as sit, down, come, & walks well on loose leash.
Toby
ADOPTED 07/31/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Toby made his way to MAGSR after a kind soul discovered him at a shelter and knew he deserved a chance at a forever home. Having moved around a bit in order to make his way to MAGSR Toby is, understandably, a little unsure about his new circumstances. However, he is slowly warming up to his foster family and we know over time his full personality will shine. As a young and energetic pup, Toby is your typical GSD - he enjoys playing, leaning into his people, and head and neck rubs. Toby will require guidance, training, and continued patience as he develops into a good canine citizen; however, he already has a good start as he is housebroken and is currently crate training. Toby is an intelligent pup who wants to follow the direction of his handler. He is quickly picking up a few commands and is learning how to walk on leash when participating in daily walks with his foster siblings. Although Toby is learning about pack life with his furry foster siblings, he does require slow introductions to new dogs at this time as he lacks confidence. We are sure that over time with training and socialization, Toby will develop into an amazing dog.
It's amazing what a few weeks in a foster home can do for a young, energetic pup. Toby has been very busy lately learning about what it is to be a good canine citizen. Thrilled to try anything that involves a high value treat, Toby has learned many of his basic commands. At this time, Toby knows - sit, stay, down, crate, out, and off. As he has developed many of his commands, Toby has increased his confidence and has become more comfortable within the community. In addition to basic commands, Toby has also been developing his leash manners. As Toby has made significant progress in this area as well, he is now jogging a few miles with a couple times a week. On days when Toby doesn't go for a run, he is thrilled to take a long walk and then play fetch. Activities such as these have helped Toby burn his puppy energy in a constructive manner. When activities are all done, Toby is happy to settle down with his foster family and chew on a bone or snuggle up for a few extra cuddles. If this fun-loving guy sounds like the right match for your household, please inquire about him today.

Tobey is a high energy and enthusiastic boy and just loves to run and run. Tobey has pretty good leash manners, crates very well, loves to run along with his handler and just loves the resident dogs in his foster home. Tobey is trusting of dogs but cautious around new people and in new situations. Tobey needs a patient handler to help him build a little confidence in his handsome self. Please inquire if Tobey sounds like a good match for your family.

Meet the adorable Kenya. He is a friendly boy but a little unsure as to why he lost his family and home. He lived with Glacier in his previous home, they got along well. We do not have any experience or knowledge of him with children and cats at this time. The comfort of a home and a loving family is just what Kenya needs, could you be his new family?
Updates:Kenya is now in a foster home and settling in nicely with his foster GSD sibling and foster parents. Kenya's foster parents call him "Kenny" and report that he is AWESOME!! Kenny has been doing great on the leash and is picking up basic training (I.e. Sit, down, stay, and "wait" when entering/exiting the house) very quickly. He is housebroken and does very well in the crate. Kenny loves playing outside with toys, his foster GSD brother and likes playing chase. He LOVES getting his head scratched and returns the love with hugs and cuddles next you on the floor. Ask to meet Kenny!

Chloe is a sweet loving girl looking for a family of her very own. She enjoys car rides, walks well on a leash, enjoys playtime and being with her family. She is crate trained to sleep in her crate at night but does not like being crated when left home alone. She has been to doggy daycare and enjoyed swimming and hanging out with her fur friends. For the most part she is housebroken, but does have an occasional accident. With a regular schedule this can be corrected. At only a year old she has lots to learn and energy to burn. Please be sure you are up to the time and commitment it takes to raise a well balanced GSD.

Tela came to us after she was abandoned by her family. She has been cared for by a family member who was not in a position to keep her long term. In her past home she lived with cats, she also has lived with other dogs and has been around children. While living with her temporary caregiver it was noted that she loves car rides, is housebroken, she knows some basic commands and was walked on a leash. Tela's energy level is medium.

Emma is a young female German Shepherd mix who came to us from a high-kill shelter. She is approximately 9 months old. Emma is beyond great with kids and loves the water. She would be in heaven swimming in a lake or wading in the ocean. She is exceptionally smart and learns commands quickly. Emma loves people and really is an overall happy dog with a sweet and playful personality. She was introduced to cats while on leash and did fine, but off leash she will chase.

Sherlock initially came to MAGSR, due to his owner’s health, from a home with other Shepherds and got along well with them. Over the last 18 months, Sherlock has been in a home without other dogs and has not interacted with other dogs, so it is unknown if he is still good with other dogs. Sherlock has a high prey drive and will chase rabbits and squirrels. Sherlock is friendly with the humans that he meets and is very active with a ton of energy, much more than expected for his age. Sherlock enjoys playing catch and swimming. Sherlock needs training, a strong handler (he’s a strong boy), and a strict regimen.
Over the last several months, MAGSR has treated Sherlock for a perianal fistula, of which treatment is coming to a close. Also, over the last several months, Sherlock has been receiving weekly laser treatments on his hips for severe arthritis. His arthritis has not slowed this boy down at all, but the laser treatments have helped him to be more comfortable so he can continue to play. Continuing future laser treatments, while they may be bi-weekly or only monthly, will be key in providing Sherlock continued relief from his arthritis and comfort going forward.
Sherlock is waiting to meet his fur-ever family that will commit to his needs for his lifetime. Please set up an appointment to meet Sherlock if he sounds like a good match for your family.

Donovan along with his BFF Mac are looking for a new family and home. They are hoping that a family has room and enough love for both of them as they are very bonded. They are both very nice boys but somewhat confused as to why they are with us and not with their family. They lived with cats and got along fine. Do you have enough room in your hearts and home for Mac & Donovan.....if so ask to meet this great pair.
