Kash
ADOPTED 05/25/2025!
Good With Kids: Likely
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Kash and his sweet buddy, Kai, were absolutely adored by their family. Having grown up in a loving home, these boys had everything they needed and thrived. Unfortunately, when a new member joined the household, a severe allergy developed. Kash and Kai's family worked with doctors to address this allergy so that the family could remain together, but these measures proved unsuccessful and the boys were moved to a separate part of the home. Although they still received as much attention as possible, a complete separation was necessary in order to keep everyone healthy. The family remained this way for some time; however, they knew this wasn't fair to Kash and Kai. Recognizing that the boys would need to be rehomed for everyone's safety and happiness, Kash and Kai's family reach out for help. This was not an easy decision, but it was the best option to help the boys move forward. Knowing both Kash and Kai were incredible dogs that deserved a safe option to move forward, they were welcomed to the MAGSR family.
Kash is an outdoorsy guy. He loves the fresh air, freedom to run around, and the sunshine. A ball guy through and through, Kash is hardly ever found without a ball in his mouth or right next to him. Happy to chill with the ball, Kash keeps it close for security. However, he is beyond excited to play fetch with his people. He is hoping that his forever family is ready to keep their throwing arm in good shape. Comfortable with other dogs, Kash has been well-socialized. He is most comfortable with his buddy, Kai, and wouldn't mind resettling in a home with his partner in crime. Having lived in a GSD savvy home, Kash has learned the ins and outs of living in a household. He is house-broken and crate trained. He will even help you keep things clean, as dirty clothes are his one vice. True of all new dogs, Kash will need time to adjust to his forever family. With structure, routine, leadership, and daily activities, Kash will thrive. Training will be key to his success. Although he already knows some basics, training will help Kash develop a strong and healthy bond with his forever family. In addition, it will help him develop the skills he needs to become a good canine citizen.
Kash is looking for an incredible forever family that enjoys a solid companion, an outdoor adventure, and a good game of fetch. If this stunning boy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet Kash today!
Schmidt
ADOPTED 05/24/2025!
Good With Kids: Likely
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Schmidt, like so many dogs, found himself at a crowded shelter as just a baby. Underweight, dirty, full of worms, and malnourished, this little guy was scared and unsure. It was beyond evident that he needed help and fast. Fortunately, a local rescue was able to pull this handsome guy quickly and began getting him some of the critical care he needed to meet with success. With some much needed vetting started and some supportive care in place, the rescue began looking into breed specific resources that could help Schmidt find a safe and loving forever home that would understand and know how to work with a GSD. Shepherds are an intelligent, active, and loyal breed; however, it is understood in the rescue community that they are not for everyone. When asked if we could welcome Schmidt into the MAGSR family, our team immediately came together to provide him with a safe landing.
Schmidt is a special guy. He has had a rough start, but things are definitely looking up. Living with an incredible foster family, this little guy is soaking in all the love he can. Recognizing the importance of socialization, his foster family is giving him endless opportunities to socialize with new people and other animals. Socialization is critical as it will help Schmidt develop the skills needed to grow into a stable and confident adult. His forever family will need to continue this process. As a young guy, Schmidt is learning the ins and outs of living in a home. He enjoys playing with his foster siblings, puppy toys, and endless snuggles. Making great progress with housebreaking and crate training, Schmidt is a smart little guy. Although Schmidt is an absolute love, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and structure, we know that Schmidt is destined to become an incredible family member. If Schmidt sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today!
Jenny
ADOPTED 05/17/2025!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Jenny and her buddy, Forest, were lucky to have grown up in a loving home that had planned to love them for a lifetime. Forest joined the family as a baby and was immediately adored. Jenny joined a little later when another family in the area needed to rehome her. She was immediately adored. Like "peas and carrots" these two lived side by side in an incredible household. Unfortunately, things simply don't always work out the way we plan. When circumstances changed unexpectedly in their home, it became clear that it was in both dogs best interest that they be rehomed. This is never an easy decision; it is often one of the hardest choices a family must make. However, their family knew this was what was best for both dogs. When asked if we could help both dogs move forward with loving families that would last a lifetime, team MAGSR stepped forward.
Jenny is a beautiful, intelligent, and active girl. With some very GSD heavy traits, she can be more timid and hesitant with new people. As a result, it can take her a little time to adjust to her surroundings. However, when given a chance to decompress, Jenny is friendly, sweet, and an amazing companion. Once truly bonded with her people, Jenny is your typical GSD - a constant presence, loyal, and on point. Having had endless opportunities to learn about the joys of daily activities and toys, Jenny enjoys playtime and hopes her forever family has plenty of toys. A lucky lady, Jenny has had the opportunity to begin building her good canine citizenship skills and participate in training. This has helped Jenny enhance her leash manners, develop commands, and increase her confidence. Although Jenny is building a solid foundation, it is critical that Jenny continue training. Not only will training help Jenny build a healthy and lasting bond with her forever family, but it will also help her continue to solidify her good canine citizenship skills.
Having had the benefit of living in a loving household, Jenny is already housebroken and crate trained. She has developed a good understanding of many of the ins and outs of living in a home. However, it is critical that her forever family provide her with time, patience, structure, and routine. With leadership and clear expectations, Jenny will thrive. This lovely lady is looking for a forever family that will take her on daily adventures, provide her with plenty of toys, and shower her with love. If Jenny sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!
Cashew
ADOPTED 05/17/2025!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Cashew found himself in a tough situation and was placed with a rescue in the south. He landed in a loving foster family where he settled in nicely with his foster mom. From time to time, her grandchildren would visit and Cashew was delighted by their presence. Although Cashew was doing well with his foster family, when a family emergency arose, he needed to find an alternative placement. Foster families are incredible, but they are not always as easy to find as we would hope. Without another foster available, once again Cashew found himself in a tough situation. Knowing that this guy needed another option, the rescue reached out to MAGSR to transfer Cashew into our care. We welcomed Cashew to the MAGSR family and did not look back.
Cashew is a big, intelligent guy. Very typical of the breed, he prefers slow introductions and clear expectations. He is most successful with a calm, confident, and experienced handler that will set him up for success. Initially more comfortable with women than men, Cashew is working with our volunteers to develop confidence and boundaries. Training will go a long way with this guy. Not only will training help Cashew develop the skills he needs to become a good canine citizen, but it will also help him build a strong, healthy, and lasting relationship with his forever family. As is true of all GSDs, Cashew is looking for a forever family that will provide him with structure, routine, and leadership. Allowing him time to decompress and adjust in his new home will help Cashew meet with success. Having lived in an incredible foster home, Cashew understands many of the ins and outs of living in a household. He is housebroken and crate trained. He has also developed a solid understanding of pack expectations and has done well with other dogs in the home. With some alpha tendencies, Cashew may be most successful with less dominant dogs. A big fan of daily activities both inside and outside of the household, Cashew has shown that he prefers to be close to his people. Ensuring that Cashew bonds in a healthy manner will be an important first step in his forever family. With time, patience, and training, Cashew will be an amazing companion.
Cashew is looking for a special family that will cherish him throughout his golden years. If this handsome guy sounds like a good match for your family, ask to meet him today!
Starlight
ADOPTED 05/15/2025!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Momma Starlight and her adorable babies - Niner, Babs, Peace, Benisa and Seven - were surrendered to an overcrowded shelter when the babies were just 6 weeks old. Although shelter staff do everything they can to keep families safe, raising puppies in a shelter is stressful for the entire family and often results in illness. Although this family was clearly very sweet, no one stepped forward to help them. As shelter numbers everywhere are at astronomical rates, Momma Starlight and her babies were at significant risk of being euthanized as owner surrenders are typically the first to cross. Days passed without interest and the family was placed on the list to be euthanized. The rescue community was doing everything they could to help, but with rescues at critical levels finding placement options was very challenging. Fortunately, an incredible rescue close to the shelter was able to secure temp fosters for the family hoping to work with other rescues to move them forward. When asked if MAGSR could be the family's rescue destination, our team sent out a plea for help. We were lucky to have fosters ready and willing to help. The uncertainty of their survival had finally ended as they made their way to the MAGSR family.
Momma Starlight has been through so many challenges over the last two months, but she remains very sweet. Clearly a good mom, Starlight has done an incredible job raising her babies. However, it is time for Starlight to soak in the love and attention of a forever family. Starlight has had the opportunity to adjust to life without the babies in an experienced foster family. She is taking some time to decompress and enjoy the safety and security of a loving household. Once comfortable, Starlight is affectionate and full of gentle kisses. She seems to know that life can only get better from now on. Still somewhat a puppy herself, Starlight can be goofy and playful. She loves to goof around outside then roll over for belly rubs. Living in a foster home with other dogs, Starlight has done well. She was also a very patient mom to the babies. Although in a foster home now, we do not know how much experience Starlight has had in a household. She is learning to crate train and is adjusting to the routines and expectations of the home. As Starlight moves forward, she will thrive with consistency, structure, and leadership. Training will also go a long way for Starlight. Not only will it help her create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Starlight is looking for an active family that will enjoy daily activities with her. She is also hoping that they are looking for a few extra snuggles at night. This gorgeous girl is ready for the perfect family to welcome her home. If Starlight sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

Handsome Kai and his sweet buddy, Kash, were absolutely adored by their family. Having grown up in a loving home, these boys had everything they needed and thrived. Unfortunately, when a new member joined the household, a severe allergy developed. Kai and Kash's family worked with doctors to address this allergy so that the family could remain together, but these measures proved unsuccessful and the boys were moved to a separate part of the home. Although they still received as much attention as possible, a complete separation was necessary in order to keep everyone healthy. The family remained this way for some time; however, they knew this wasn't fair to Kash and Kai. This was not an easy decision, but it was the best option to help the boys move forward. Knowing both Kash and Kai were incredible dogs that deserved a safe option to move forward, they were welcomed to the MAGSR family.
Kai is a friendly guy who has a definite cuddly side. An incredible velcro dog, this boy loves being close to his people and makes an incredible shadow. Having a strong love of the outdoors, Kai is beyond happy to get a good long breath of fresh air, sniff the flowers, and go on an adventure. Daily opportunities to run around outside, go for a walk, and enjoy being in nature bring him endless joy. Although he has been socialized around other dogs, Kai is most content with his buddy, Kash. He would be more than happy settling into his forever family with Kash at his side. Having lived in a GSD savvy home, Kai has learned the ins and outs of living in a household. He is house-broken and crate trained. However, as is often true with the breed, he will chew on things that are left in the crate with him. Crate safe items only please! True of all new dogs, Kai will need time to adjust to his forever family. With structure, routine, leadership, and daily activities, Kai will thrive. Training will be key to his success. Although he already knows some basics, training will help Kai develop a strong and healthy bond with his forever family. In addition, it will help him develop the skills he needs to become a good canine citizen.
Kai is looking for an active forever family that will provide him with the leadership he craves as well as the shadow he is so ready to fill. If you are looking for a constant companion, look no further than Kai!

The uncertainty of their survival had finally ended as they made their way to the MAGSR family.
Niner and his adorable siblings have been through a lot of changes in a short period of time. However, a resilient group, these babies have maintained some very typical puppy behaviors. They are active, intelligent, and very good with other animals. With a good understanding of toys, treats, and a soft place to relax, all four babies have been lucky to have settled in experienced foster families. Still developing their socialization skills, Niner and his siblings will need endless opportunities to socialize with people and other animals in safe and controlled settings. Socialization is critical to their success as this will help them develop into stable adult dogs. Although these babies are cute as can be, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and leadership we know that Niner and his siblings are destined for greatness. Niner is looking for a household that will provide him with a good balance of training, playtime, and cuddles. If this cute little guy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!

They are active, intelligent, and very good with other animals. With a good understanding of toys, treats, and a soft place to relax, all five babies have been lucky to have settled in experienced foster families. Babs is a big fan of toys and loves anything with the baby paper sound. She also seems thrilled to have teething bones to keep those little teeth busy. Still developing their socialization skills, Babs and her siblings will need endless opportunities to socialize with people and other animals in safe and controlled settings. Socialization is critical to their success as this will help them develop into stable adult dogs. With some food drive and a big fan of praise, Babs has already begun developing some basic commands. She knows "sit" already and is learning "down" and "come". Taking treats and food very gently, Bab's foster is hand feeding her to teach bond with the little lady as well as teach additional commands. This lovely lady is quite the student. Her housebreaking and crate training are moving along fabulously. Babs holds it through the night and sleeps well.
Although these babies are cute as can be, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and leadership we know that Babs and her siblings are destined for greatness. Shep
ADOPTED 04/26/2025!
Good With Kids: Likely
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Stunning Shep was picked up as a stray in the south and brought to a local animal control. Upon arrival, it was highly evident that this boy needed medical attention as soon as possible. With a severe ear infection and raw, painful paws, and underweight Shep was incredibly uncomfortable and in need of help. Fortunately, the right people heard about Shep's situation and began working with rescue groups to find a temp foster and rescue placement. When asked if we could provide Shep with a rescue option, team MAGSR knew that Shep would make an incredible addition to the family. With an amazing foster family in place, we welcomed this handsome boy to the MAGSR family.
Recognizing that Shep needed medical support right away, we worked with several groups to ensure he had what he needed. Shep had his medical needs addressed and was placed in a loving home to recuperate. Seeming to understand that this was his chance to decompress and let the healing process happen, Shep took some time to relax and get healthy again. Once he started feeling better, we were able to move him to one of our experienced foster homes where Shep had the chance to start acting like a dog again. An active guy with a high ball drive, Shep's all-time favorite activities involve balls. He will happily chase and mouth a ball for hours. In fact, it seems that he is hoping that his forever family has an affinity for throwing as, in his mind, humans are meant to be his personal throwing machine. Still learning the finer points of playing, Shep still needs some time to further decompress and learn the ins and outs of appropriate play. This guy is looking for an active family that will provide the structure, routine, and expectations needed to meet the needs of a headstrong shepherd. He would likely be happiest with a job, like nosework, or an activity, like treibball. With a little refinement, Shep would likely excel at Rally or flyball! Living in a foster home, Shep is learning the ins and outs of living in a home. He is learning to crate train and housebreak. He is also learning about the general routines and expectations of living in a GSD savvy home. However, he will need time and patience to adjust to the expectations and routines of his forever family. As is true of all dogs, training will be key to Shep's success. Not only will training help Shep build a healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Shep is your typical teenage shepherd seeking attention and a good time. If you are looking for an intelligent, fun-loving, active shepherd, Shep could be the guy for you!
