Wendy
ADOPTED 05/05/2024!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
The Neverland Litter (Hook, Pan, Wendy, Tootles, Pockets, Cubby, Nana, Nibs, Rufio, and Tink) was born on a property that is known for breeding and selling puppies. When these babies turned six weeks old, the owner dropped them along with a second litter at a shelter. Unfortunately, the shelter, like so many others, was sitting at critical capacity and knew they needed help moving the babies forward. Recognizing that a rescue would be the best option for these babies, a plea went out to GSD rescues up and down the coast for help. With puppy season in full swing, many groups are inundated with babies needing a safe place to move forward. When asked if we could welcome this group to the family, team MAGSR stepped forward.
The Neverland puppies are playful, interactive, and social puppies. Although they did not have the easiest start, they have had many different people in their corner since their arrival at the shelter. In the last few weeks, these babies have had many opportunities to start socializing with new people and in a variety of situations. Socialization is essential to their success; it is critical to their forever families continue this process. Living with some of our amazing foster families, these babies are learning the ins and outs of living in a home. They are learning all about the joys of good food, daily playtime, structure and routine. Although Wendy and her siblings are beyond precious, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, we know that the Neverland Litter will grow up to become good canine citizens. If your family is ready to welcome wonderful Wendy into your home, ask to meet her today.

Molly
ADOPTED 04/28/2024!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Molly is the mom to the 11 Hogwarts puppies. This family was part of a cruelty and neglect case within Maryland. Upon their arrival at the shelter, staff did everything they could to begin working with this family. They were able to foster Molly's puppies out within the MAGSR family; however, Molly needed to remain at the shelter while she awaited a decision on her case. Although she was extremely emaciated, covered with fleas, and weak, Molly appreciated the kindness of staff members and slowly began warming up to new people. Shelter staff worked hard to help Molly begin the recovery process and began getting her some much needed vetting. However, Molly was significantly weakened by the years of mal-treatment and the need to keep her puppies healthy and strong. As a result, a case of kennel cough quickly escalated. When volunteers came through to move Molly into the MAGSR family, they knew something was not right. Molly's kennel cough had evolved and become two-fold. She now had pneumonia and bronchitis. Fortunately, our team came together to ensure that Molly was safe and received all the care she needed. With time, patience, and some extra TLC, Molly has made significant strides. Her body is much stronger and she is ready to move forward.
Molly is an intelligent and energetic dog. She is looking for an active and experienced forever family that will help her meet her full potential. Having survived horrifying conditions in her previous household, Molly is looking for a home where she can be the focus of the family. A home where she can be the only pet would be her ideal situation. This way she can soak up all of the love and attention of her family while filling their lives with giggles, snuggles, and endless kisses. As she continues to move forward, Molly will need to exercise her body and her mind on a daily basis. Not only will this help her find a good balance within the household but it will also help her use her mind effectively. Molly is a big fan of toys and can be found playfully throwing them around while making her goofy sounds. She is good at keeping herself entertained but also enjoys a good game of fetch. This smart little lady is already picking up commands. She is learning to sit, down, drop it, come, and roll over. She can't wait to learn more! Food and praise motivated, Molly will be a blast at training. Training is essential as it will help Molly develop a strong, healthy bond with her family. It will also help her further develop her skills and socialization so that she can develop into a good canine citizen. Molly is looking for an active home that will provide her with a lifetime of love and attention. Could that be with you?
Sampson
ADOPTED 04/27/2024!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Intelligent little Sampson came to MAGSR as an owner-surrender with two of his littermates. His previous family realized they were overwhelmed and couldn’t raise a large number of dogs the way they felt these pups deserved. So, they made the decision to surrender the pups to MAGSR. We know this was a very difficult decision, but we also know that this family wanted these pups to have endless love, attention, and opportunities. We are still learning about Sampson at this time. What we do know is he was loved and adored by his previous family and is looking for a forever family that will help him continue to move forward.
Sampson is an independent momma's boy. Once you are part of Sampson's family, he loves hard. This is especially true with his foster mom. Bonding quickly to his people, Sampson, like most GSDs, has energy and likes to be active as long as he people are not far behind. As a brave guy, Sampson is always up for a new challenge and loves learning new things. A huge fan of treats, this guy is motivated easily and picks up new skills easily. Confident in many situations, Sampson likes to lead and is the pack leader when it comes to his furry friends. As is true with all shepherds, it is critical that Sampson's forever family continue to socialize him in new people, animals, and in varied environments. These skills will help him develop into a stable adult shepherd. In addition, it is imperative that Sampson attend training. Not only will training help Sampson build a strong and healthy bond with his forever family, it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. If Sampson's adventurous spirit and outgoing personality sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!
Updates:Stunning Sampson has been living with his incredible foster family for a few weeks and is doing an amazing job. With daily opportunities to learn about the world, Sampson is learning about different environments, sounds, animals, and people. He loves to explore the world around him and is hoping that his forever family will continue this socialization. A quick learner, especially when food or treats are involved, Sampson is impressing everyone with his new skills. He walks well on leash and checks in with the handler regularly. This handsome guy has also learned sit and place. As he develops new skills, Sampson's foster family is doing a great job challenging him with the next skills. Although he loves an adventure and plenty of toys, Sampson is also one incredible cuddler. He adores his people and easily wins over new friends. Once comfortable, he is affectionate and wiggly. It is hard not to smile with his goofy behavior. Sampson is looking for an active family that will adore him. Could that family be you?
Aladdin
ADOPTED 04/27/2024!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Marley and her seven incredible Disney puppies (Jasmine, Eric, Phillip, Aladdin, Aurora, Ariel, and Belle) were dumped at a shelter that was over-capacity. Although Marley is an incredible mom who was doing everything to help her babies grow, a crowded shelter environment is not a safe place for any animal, particularly a young family. Recognizing that Marley and her babies needed help and fast, the shelter immediately sent out a plea for help. As puppy season is in full swing, many rescues have been inundated with puppies. This situation has further elevated the importance of spaying and neutering pets as the number of homeless animals is simply unsustainable. Rescues want to help; however, many groups are just as overwhelmed as the shelters. Fortunately, MAGSR's incredible team came together to help Marley and her pups move forward in the safety of the rescue family.
The Disney puppies and their phenomenal mother, Marley, have been living with one of our amazing foster families. Surrounded by loving and caring people, each member of the family has had all that they needed and more. These babies have had endless opportunities to learn, grow, and explore. This socialization is essential to their success. As the Disney puppies move forward, their families will need to continue to socialize them with varied people, animals, and in different environments. This will help all of the babies develop into stable and confident adults. Although they are being raised together, each of these babies has unique qualities. Aladdin has a big, bright personality. He is social, adventurous, and enjoys interacting with everyone. His sweet personality is contagious and he easily wins over new friend both human and canine. Although Aladdin is cute as a button, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience and routine, we know that Aladdin will develop into a good canine citizen. If your household is ready to welcome this little guy into your home, please ask to meet him today!

Banksy
ADOPTED 04/22/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Beautiful Bansky was found wandering around an apartment complex. He was clearly cold, starving, and in need of immediate help. Fortunately, a good Samaritan found Banksy and did what they could to help him. Bringing him to a shelter, they hoped that Banksy would find his forever family. Although he waited for his family to come and claim him, no one came forward for this sweet boy. Unfortunately, the shelter, like so many others, is sitting at critical capacity. As a result, Banksy needed out and fast. Knowing he would need a little help gaining weight, MAGSR pulled Banksy as soon as we heard his story.
Banksy is in many ways your typical young shepherd. He is curious, energetic, and loves his people. This little honey was incredibly fortunate to have joined an incredible foster family that is teaching him the ins and outs of living in a home. They have already begun housebreaking and are excited to see that he is so intelligent. Getting extra, high-quality food, Banksy is now getting the nutrition needed to fill his belly and help him grow. As Banksy moves forward, this guy will be looking for a forever family that will provide him with structure, routine, and leadership as this will help him thrive. His forever family will also need to ensure that Banksy has plenty of opportunities to socialize with other people, animals, and in new environments. This will help Banksy as he develops into a stable and confident adult. Training will also go a long way with this little honey. Not only will training help Banksy create a forever bond with his family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Banksy is looking for an active family who will give him endless opportunities to meet with success. If he sounds like the perfect match for your family, ask to meet handsome Banksy today!
Novi
ADOPTED 04/22/2024!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Novi and her family - Tej, Anshu, and Asha - were dumped on the side of a busy road in the south. With traffic flying past at high speeds, this little family was not likely to survive for long. Fortunately, a good samaritan saw what was happening and stopped to try to help the family. With an incredible stroke of good luck she was able to corral the family and convince them to hop into her car. From there she took them to a rescue friendly boarding facility. Although the authorities were contacted and a stray hold was put into effect, no one came forward. Recognizing that this family would benefit from rescue placement, a plea went out for help. MAGSR knew this family deserved the chance to move forward as a unit, so our team welcomed all four members into the rescue.
Novi is a stable, playful, and energetic girl. Clearly well socialized with people and adults, Novi is in many ways your typical, loveable ball of energy. She loves playing with her brother and still likes to know her people are close. Although Novi is already building a solid foundation of skills, it is critical that her family continue to provide her with opportunities to socialize with new people, animals, and environments. This will help her develop into a stable adult dog. It is obvious that Novi is an absolute doll, but please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, and training, Novi will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. If this little sweetheart sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Updates:Novi requires a total hip replacement which will be WELL over $10K.
All too frequently people choose to inappropriately breed dogs that are not health tested, and this has led to an increase in young dogs being born with genetically poor joints, particularly hips in German Shepherds. Novi, at less than a year old, has found herself in pain as she navigates hips that do not have the ability to support her growth. MAGSR is committed to getting her the highest standard of care, which means having her on a pain management program, hydrotherapy, and a total hip replacement surgery. She will also likely need extensive physical therapy post surgery and ongoing monitoring of, and possible future surgeries on, her other joints as she grows and the joints mature. Novi has a team of dedicated veterinary staff and MAGSR volunteers helping her forward-- do you want to be a part of her happy ending? Donate to her care now, and share her story with others!
Tigger
ADOPTED 04/21/2024!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
The Hundred Acre Woods Puppies - Winnie, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger - were confiscated in the south due to cruelty and neglect. These babies had been placed in a small, confined area filled with garbage and feces. Unable to fend for themselves, they had limited access to water and were found without access to any food. Due to these horrifying conditions, when animal control officers arrived, the babies were immediately confiscated and brought to a loving foster family that began their road to recovery. Although the pups were finally receiving the care and interaction needed to meet with success, a rescue plea went out as extreme overcrowding has significantly limited shelter's ability to meet the needs of all of the animals in their care. These babies needed safe passage to move forward and MAGSR and another GSD rescue in the area, All Shepherd Rescue, were ready to help.
Working collaboratively with ASR, we were able to ensure that all of the puppies within the 100 Acre Woods litter had a rescue option and loving foster home ready for their arrival. These babies are in many ways your typical GSD puppies. They are playful, interactive, full of energy and puppy snuggles. Although they had a rough start, the puppies are incredibly resilient and are ready for forever families that will cherish them for a lifetime. Although Tigger is an absolute love, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and structure, we know the 100 Acre Puppies are destined to be incredible adult dogs. If your family is ready for endless hours of puppy joy, please ask to meet Tigger today!

As the Disney puppies move forward, their families will need to continue to socialize them with varied people, animals, and in different environments. This will help all of the babies develop into stable and confident adults. Although they are being raised together, each of these babies has unique qualities. Jasmine is cuddly and sweet. The Disney puppies and their phenomenal mother, Marley, have been living with one of our amazing foster families. Surrounded by loving and caring people, each member of the family has had all that they needed and more. It is highly evident that Marley has been an incredible mom to her magical babies. They are so very lucky to have inherited her loving personality. As Marley moves forward, she is ready to finish her job as a mother and enjoy being a member of a family where she can be cherished. An intelligent and playful girl, Marley is hoping that her forever family has plenty of toys ready for her. A big fan of fetch, this lovely lady is hoping her family loves to throw the ball. Nathan
ADOPTED 04/13/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Stunning Nathan was picked up as a stray in the south. Shelter staff were beyond surprised when no one stepped forward for this incredible guy. Although they knew he would be an amazing addition to a family, unfortunately, with numbers at critical levels in most places, Nathan's time was very quickly running short. Knowing this guy was incredibly special, shelter staff began reaching out to rescues for help. Fortunately, we had a space for Nathan and were able to welcome him to the MAGSR family.
Nathan is a handsome, intelligent, and friendly guy. Although we do not know anything about his past, it is quite obvious that he was well socialized with people and other animals. As a big, fluffy guy, Nathan easily wins over admirers. He radiates personality and has a typical goofball personality often associated with our long-hair shepherds. True of all shepherds, Nathan is looking for a forever family that will provide him with the structure, routine, and leadership he needs to thrive. As a big guy, Nathan will need to learn some leash manners and participate in training. Training will provide Nathan with a foundation of expectations, the opportunity to create a healthy bond with his family, and the skills needed to develop into a good canine citizen. At this time we do not know if Nathan has ever lived in a home. However, he is quickly getting a crash course in household living with his incredible foster family. It is likely that Nathan will, like all new dogs, need some time to adjust to the expectations and routines of his forever family. Nathan is looking for an amazing forever family that enjoys daily activities, playtime, and plenty of snuggles. If he sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!
Bella

Beautiful Bella was picked up as a stray in the south. Walking into an overcrowded shelter, this lovely lady was on borrowed time. However, with her incredibly sweet personality, shelter staff hoped that her family would come and claim her. When no one stepped forward, staff members began reaching out to rescues for help as they knew that Bella was simply too special to miss out on the incredible life she had ahead of her. Having heard their plea for help, MAGSR stepped forward to welcome Bella to the family.
Bella has one of those amazing personalities that easily wins over the hearts and minds of everyone she meets. Sweet beyond measure and an absolute doll, this lovely lady deserves an incredible home that will cherish her for a lifetime. Although we do not know much about her past, it is clear that Bella has at some point lived in a household. She understands many of the ins and outs of living in a home. However, as is true of all GSDs, she will need some time to learn the routines and expectations of her forever family. Socialized well with other people, animals, and in varied environments, Bella seems to adjust well to change, particularly for a GSD. She rides well in the car and loves a good adventure. As is true of all dogs, Bella will benefit from training. Not only will training help Bella develop a strong bond with her forever family but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have discovered that Bella is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided with a monthly preventative. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, Bella is clearly worth the cost. Please consider donating to Bella's care. Your donation will not only help Bella continue to move forward but it will also help us continue to support dogs with medical needs. Bella is in the beginning stages of treatment. She will need to take it easy over the next few months as she heals. If lovely Bella sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet her today!

Although Winnie is cute as a button, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and structure, we know the 100 Acre Puppies are destined to be incredible adult dogs. If your family is ready for endless hours of puppy joy, please ask to meet Winnie today!

Handsome Hank was brought home as a puppy. His family loved him a lot, but due to a change in circumstances, they needed to rehome Hank. Recognizing that Hank deserved every opportunity to meet with success, his family reached out to MAGSR to see if we could help Hank move forward. How could we possibly say no to this big, goofy boy.
Hank is playful, energetic, and looking for a leader. In many ways, Hank is your typical puppy. He loves toys, bouncing around, and interacting with his people. Well socialized with other people, Hank is comfortable meeting new people, but he does still need to learn a few rules, such as, the importance of keeping his paws on the ground. Clearly food motivated, this guy picks up new expectations quickly. He does very well with a clear, confident, and calm handler. As is true of all shepherds, Hank will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. He is hoping to find a forever family that will exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. Some time to play with toys also sounds like an ideal day to Hank. As Hank moves forward, it is essential that he participates in training. Not only will training help Hank create a strong and healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Hank is looking for a forever family that will cherish him for a lifetime. Could that family be with you?
Autumn

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

The Fall puppies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato (Tator) - were an accidental litter. Raised together with their parents, these dogs have had the chance to learn many doggy social skills. Although their human family enjoyed the puppies, it can be difficult to care for a large litter and challenging to find safe and loving homes. Recognizing that the Fall puppies would be most successful if placed within a breed specific rescue, their family contacted MAGSR. We promised that we would find each pup a safe and loving forever family that would cherish these babies for a lifetime.
The Fall puppies are very large babies for their age. They are clearly big fans of food. Having spent time outside, these babies love the sights, sounds, and smells of the outdoors. So, they are hoping their forever families love adventures. Although these babies have been socialized well with their doggy family, they have not been exposed to many new people or situations. Socialization is critical to their success. Recognizing that social skills are essential as the Fall puppies move forward, our amazing volunteers are already beginning this process. Learning the ins and outs of living in a household, these babies are learning the joys of endless toys, comfortable beds, and loads of love. As they continue to move forward, all six babies will strive in households that will provide the structure, routine, and leadership that all shepherds crave.
Although these babies are absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless antics. With time, training, and patience, all 6 babies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato - will develop into good canine citizens. If one of the Fall puppies sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet these fluffy bundles of joy today!
Updates:Autumn is an intelligent and spunky girl. With a goofy and silly side, Autumn keeps her foster family entertained for hours. She has clearly learned the joy of toys and is happy to play for hours. True of many of our more alpha-minded dogs, Autumn can be intense and have a lot of GSD energy. As a strong female, she is going to push boundaries and see what she can get away with. Autumn is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the structure, routine, and leadership that all GSDs need to thrive. It is important that she exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. As Autumn is driven and eager to please, she is the perfect candidate for training. Fortunately, Autumn's foster family has already started this process. Not a surprise, Autumn is a star student. As Autumn moves forward, continued training will be needed. Additional training will not only help Autumn create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Autumn is looking for an active family that will provide her with adventures during the day and a good cuddle at night. If this lovely girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Oakley and his brother, Wicker, were living with a family that was not interested in continuing to care for the boys. Although socialized with kids, cats, and other dogs, these guys were not receiving the care they needed to move forward. Fortunately, another group heard that the boys needed help, and they stepped forward to get them out of a rough situation. Recognizing that shepherds are most successful when placed with a breed specific rescue, this rescue reached out to MAGSR to see if we could welcome the boys to the family. With an incredible team of volunteers working together between both rescues, we were able to welcome Oakley and Wicker to the MAGSR family.
Oakley and Wicker are in many ways your typical goofy, playful, snuggly guys. They enjoy the company of their people and other animals. Living with one of our amazing foster families, these boys are learning the ins and outs of living within a household. They are getting endless opportunities to socialize with new people and in new environments. It is critical that their forever families continue this process as it will help them develop into stable and confident adult dogs. Although Oakley is absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, we know that Oakley will become a good canine citizen. If your family is looking for a handsome, young guy to fill you home with smiles and laughter, look no further than Oakley.
Jethro
ADOPTED 04/05/2024!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Jethro was originally pulled from a high-kill shelter in California when he was three. Although his family loved Jethro dearly, when circumstances changed unexpectedly, they had no choice but to say good-bye to this handsome guy. Recognizing that Jethro needed a safe and loving place to move forward, MAGSR welcomed him to the family. Knowing that Jethro was a beloved member of the family, we promised we would find him an amazing forever family that would cherish him throughout his golden years.
Jethro is a big, handsome, and patient guy. Having grown up with kids and other dogs of various sizes, he was well socialized with littles. The easy-going dog in the group, Jethro is not phased by much when around littles - whether furry or human. Although he was exposed to cats, Jethro has been a little too interested in them and will not be placed in a home with cats. With many of his GSD traits well established, Jethro is loyal, intelligent, and your typical velcro dog. As is typical of many GSDs, it can take Jethro a few minutes to warm up to new people; he can come across as aloof or disinterested. However, once comfortable, Jethro enjoys a good rub down and lean in. When a connection is made, it is strong.
Having lived in a safe and loving home, Jethro understands the ins and outs of living in a household. He is housebroken and cues nicely when he needs to go out. He is also crate trained and is content in his safe space. As is expected, Jethro is a little thrown by his new circumstances and is taking some time to decompress and adjust. Our volunteers have been working hard to ensure that Jethro has everything he needs. As Jethro moves forward, he is looking for a forever family that will provide him with daily exercise, snuggles, and a soft bed. Plenty of treats would also be just fine. If your family is looking for a gentle boy that will fill your home with unending love, look no further than our sweet Jethro.
Calandria

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Calandria, affectionately called Cali, and her mom (Talia) were dumped at a shelter in the south in the fall. Cali was put out for adoption and Talia was sent to the euthanasia room. MAGSR asked for both dogs in the Fall; however, Cali was adopted out to the public. So, Talia joined the MAGSR family and moved forward in another direction. Unfortunately, at the end of January, Calandria found herself right back at the shelter. Her adoptive mom had passed away and, it seems, Cali did not have as many opportunities to socialize as we would have liked while in her care. With the shelter over-capacity, Calandria found herself in the euthanasia room that her mother barely escaped. When we discovered Calandria was back at the shelter, we stepped in and made sure she found her way to the MAGSR family. We do not leave families behind.
Cali is stunning just like her mother. Intelligent and cuddly once comfortable, Cali is looking for a family that will give her time to decompress. This girl can be unsure, but when given time and patience, Cali does well with a calm and confident handler. She will thrive in an environment with structure, routine, and daily exercise. Still a very young dog, it is imperative that Cali's family socialize her with new people, new animals, and new environments. This will help her develop into a stable adult shepherd. Training is also essential. Not only will training help Cali develop a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her build the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Cali is looking for a special forever family that will continue to support her as she moves forward. If your family is looking for a lovely, curious, and affectionate girl, ask to meet sweet Cali today!
Updates:From her foster:
So far she is super friendly with people and other dogs! She is learning house manners and crate training to prepare her for her new furever home.
Zoey

Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Zoey was brought home with a family when she was just a baby. Although they likely had good intentions at first, as Zoey started growing she was placed in the backyard and was not getting the care, attention, or socialization needed to develop into a stable, confident, and healthy adult dog. Recognizing that they couldn't provide for her, Zoey's family decided that she needed to find a new home. Fortunately, a good Samaritan learned about Zoey's situation and stepped in to help her move forward safely. Knowing Zoey would be most successful if she found placement within a rescue, Zoey's rescuer reached out to MAGSR for help. Our team immediately began working together to provide Zoey with an option to move forward.
Zoey is a young, energetic, and intelligent girl. She will need an active family that is willing to exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. Having lived a somewhat secluded life, Zoey is just now learning the ins and out of being a dog. She is being exposed to new people, new situations, and new environments. This process can be a bit of a learning curve, but Zoey seems to be adjusting well. As Zoey continues to move forward, it is critical that her family continue this socialization process as it will help her build confidence and develop stability. The past few weeks have been filled with new experiences as well as new people and new toys. Zoey enjoys the company of her people and often greets them with big tail wags and affection. As is true of all shepherds, Zoey is looking for a family that will provide her with routine, structure, and leadership. Training is an essential piece of Zoey's future. Not only will training help her create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Zoey is looking for a loving family that will give her endless opportunities to learn and meet with success. If she sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Maggie came to MAGSR as an owner-surrender with two of her littermates. Her previous family realized they were overwhelmed and couldn’t raise a large number of dogs the way they felt these pups deserved. So, they made the decision to surrender the pups to MAGSR. We know this was a very difficult decision, but we also know that this family wanted these pups to have endless love, attention, and opportunities. We are still learning about Maggie at this time. What we do know is she was loved and adored by her previous family and is looking for a forever family that will help her move forward with basic obedience, structure, and boundaries.
Here is what Maggie's foster has to say about her:
“Maggie is an absolute love bug with the sweetest eyes that speak volumes; she truly only wants to be around her people 24/7. She is not only the most adorable puppy, but smart and eager to please! It helps that she is treat and food motivated, as she is quickly picking up what boundaries are and what is acceptable behavior. She’s learning the crate isn’t a bad place, but a place to decompress and take a minute away from her large and furry foster brother. Maggie loves it when her tiny human sister gets her out of the crate, and greets everyone with adorable puppy kisses! She still has the faint smell of puppy breath and her coat is 100% puppy fluff! Maggie sure knows how to welcome you from your long journey (if she wasn’t velcroed to your side) from either the kitchen, bathroom, living room or even a long day at school/work with the most adorable puppy-butt-wiggles, puppy-hops all the while staring you down with 1,000% puppy eyes filled with nothing but love!
Maggie is doing very well learning basic obedience including sitting, walking on a leash, potty training while understanding what structure and boundaries are. She is always looking up for approval, and tiny motivational treats go a long way!”
As with any puppy, her furever family will need to provide the essentials - training, structure, boundaries, routines, and continued guidance.
If Maggie sounds like your ideal ‘FURever’ companion, please consider adopting her!
Beetlejuice
ADOPTED 03/23/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Beetlejuice is a big, friendly boy who was picked up in the south as a stray. He was brought to an overcrowded shelter where he waited for his family to claim him. Although Beetlejuice waited patiently for his family, no one came to claim him. When no one stepped forward, he, like so many others, was moved to the euthanasia room as shelters simply cannot keep up with the number of animals arriving at their door on a daily basis. As a big, goofy, playful guy, we knew Beetlejuice deserved a forever family that would cherish him for a lifetime. So, our team moved quickly and succeeded in welcoming Beetlejuice to the safety of the MAGSR family just before his time was up.
Beetlejuice is one handsome guy. As a young and energetic boy, he is looking for an active forever family that loves adventures. It is critical that Beetlejuices' forever family not only exercise his body, but that they also exercise his mind on a daily basis. This will help him remain a balanced and happy guy. Throughout his time at the shelter, Beetlejuice regularly attended play groups, and he enjoyed his furry companions. He has likely been socialized well with other dogs. As is true of all shepherds, Beetlejuice is looking for a family that will provide him with structure, routine, and leadership. In addition, Beetlejuice is looking forward to participating in training. Training will not only help Beetlejuice build a strong and healthy relationship with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have learned that Beetlejuice is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if his people had provided him with monthly heartworm prevention. We have already begun the first steps of Beetlejuice's treatment. However, he will need a few months to rest and recover. Heartworm treatment is expensive, but Beetlejuice is clearly worth the cost. Please consider donating to his care as, in doing so, you not only help Beetlejuice move forward, but you also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs. Beetlejuice is a goofy guy who is looking for a family that will commit to him for a lifetime, could that be with you?

Chloe
ADOPTED 03/21/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Chloe was, like so many other dogs, picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter in the south. Although she waited out her stray hold, as soon as it was up, she was placed on the list for euthanasia. Chloe had not done anything wrong. She was simply one too many at a shelter where thirty to forty animals arrive every day. Recognizing that Chloe deserved a home of her very own, another rescue stepped in and pulled Chloe to safety. They knew that they likely could not place Chloe, but hoped to work with another rescue when openings occurred. When asked if we could transfer Chloe into the MAGSR family, we knew this girl was a good match.
Charming Chloe has been living with her foster family for the last month. During this time, she has been learning the ins and outs of living in a safe and loving home. As an intelligent girl, Chloe has adjusted to the routines and expectations of the household and is thriving. Chloe is hoping that her forever family will also provide her with clear structure, routines, and leadership. However, as is true of any new dog, she will need time to adjust to her forever home. Chloe is also hoping that her forever family will provide her with training. Training is essential for all dogs to meet with success. Not only does training help create strong and healthy bonds, but it also teaches the skills needed to become good canine citizens. Chloe is looking for a forever family that loves to get out and about, but is also happy to snuggle up in the evenings. If this stunning girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Evie
ADOPTED 03/16/2024!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
The Kentucky Six - Diego, Champ, Serena, Peanut, Evie, and Yogi - are cruelty and neglect survivors. Living in inhumane conditions, starved, and used as breeding stock, the Kentucky Six managed to make it off the property alive when the right people heard about their conditions and got the authorities involved. All six dogs were confiscated and brought to a shelter where they waited for the chance to find kind and loving families of their very own. Although shelter staff worked hard to make sure that all six dogs began getting the care and attention they deserved, they recognized that with shelters at capacity and adoptions limited, these six precious souls may not have the chance to find their forever families. They began working with local groups and started networking the dogs in hopes that rescue placement would be found. Fortunately, their message made its way to MAGSR. Our incredible team knew that this group of dogs was very special, so we began putting plans in place to welcome the Kentucky Six to the MAGSR family.
Although Evie's life was filled with endless challenges and suffering prior to her confiscation, she continues to seek out attention and affection from her people. Intelligent and confident, Evie is the alpha female of the group. She likes to know what all is happening and doesn't appreciate too much goofing around. Although she has lived with several other dogs, Evie likes to be in charge and will maintain her status with the pack. Slow and proper introductions are best. Although she has endured a lot of suffering, Evie remains a sweet and lovable lady. Sometimes we are simply astonished by the resilience of dogs that have been through so much trauma but are still friendly and interactive. As is true of all shepherds, Evie will thrive when provided with structure, routine, and leadership. In many ways she is still in the beginning stages of her new life. She will need time to adjust to new people, environments, and expectations. However, given patience and opportunities to learn, we are sure that Evie will continue to discover the joys of being a beloved member of a family. We do not know if Evie has had much experience living in a household. Clear rules and boundaries will help her settle into his new home. Training will also go a long way for this lovely lady. Not only will training help Evie develop a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have learned that all of the Kentucky Six are heartworm positive. This could have easily been avoided with a monthly heartworm preventative. Evie is just beginning treatment. However, she is already handling her protocol like a rockstar. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, MAGSR will cover the entire cost of her care. Please consider donating to Evie's care as it will not only help Evie continue to move forward, but it will also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs. Evie is looking for a forever family that will cherish her for a lifetime. If this lovely lady sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Updates:Evie is such a sweet girl. She always wants to be right by us and loves getting all the pets she can. For someone who may not have lived in a house, she does not act like it. She seems to have settled right into house life.
Evie already knew sit, down, no, come and her name since we brought her home. She has had no accidents since being home. She knows she is supposed to use the bathroom when she goes outside. She’s not a huge fan of getting in her crate and she needs extra encouragement to go in there as the days go on, but she sleeps well in there through the night.
Evie is an alpha female. She is making it known she is not taking any crap from her foster brother Murphy (2 years old). While she is setting her boundaries with Murphy, she continues to warm up to him daily. She does kiss him on his muzzle and tries to initiate play but we are taking that slow especially with a sore foot.
Overall Evie has been a pleasure. In addition to having a sweet and loving personality, she has the softest fluffy fur.
We have also discovered a small black fur pattern under her nose that looks like a mustache that is absolutely adorable. In one of the straight on photos in the next email it’s very noticeable.
Week two with Evie and she has really come out of her shell. She is showing more and more interest in playing with her foster brother Murphy, toys and us.
As far as her injured foot, some days she puts more weight on it then others. I haven’t seen too much of a change besides that.
Evie can be trusted to sleep outside her crate at night in our bedroom with us. She sleeps all the way through the night when in the same room as us.
We took her to visit my mother-in-law and Evie did very well on the ride and in the house visiting. Overall, she’s doing very well in our house and is a pleasure.
Evie is still having issues with her foot but we’re working with Sandy and vetting to try to work on that for her. Her foot has not stopped her from wanting to be her playful self.
She took Evie to a trunk or treat on Friday and she did excellent meeting new people and didn’t seem to care about any other dogs that were there. We even received a compliment “Those are the extremely well behaved dogs.”
Evie has also proven herself to be a huge snuggler. She has crawled on top of me while I was laying down to get pets and sleep on me.
Sweet Evie is improving a lot health wise. Her foot isn’t swollen anymore and she seems to walk normally with it. She is continuing to have vet check ups since this was caused by a fungal infection and she’s on medication.
Since Evie has been feeling better, she has become much more active and talkative.
She loves initiating play with her foster brother. She enjoys wrestling and some chase as well. She loves to play with toys and so far has been very polite and not destroyed any.
She does great on walks and on car drives. We took her to Ocean City for Thanksgiving (4 hour drive from us) and she did excellent. She experienced the turkey trot on the broad walk with so many smells to enjoy and got to check out the beach.
We took a few walks at home but now she’s up for walks with her foot and will make that a regular thing.
Evie has now replaced my alarm clock. Between 7:30-8:30 it’s breakfast time and she’s waking me up to tell me.
Evie is an absolute sweetheart who just wants to be near her people all the time. She loves all the pets and loves and enjoys being brushed.
Evie is also an alpha female and takes some time to get used to other dogs. She gets along fine with her foster brother, but on her terms lol. Evie has not done well around small dogs.
Bicaro
ADOPTED 03/15/2024!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Bicaro and his buddy, Lil Bit, were taken to a shelter in the south. The boys were starving and had tried filling their bellies with a meal of chicken and duck from the property. Rather than provide them with the food and care they needed, they were punished for attempting to survive. Taken to an overcrowded shelter, the boys were soon placed on the list to be euthanized. Local groups were watching and sent out a plea for help to the rescue community. Both boys are incredibly sweet and did not deserve to lose their lives. Although groups up and down the coast were contacted, many rescues simply do not have the capacity to welcome more dogs. At the last minute, MAGSR learned about the boys' likely fate. We were exceptionally lucky to be able to collaborate with another incredible GSD rescue - All Shepherd Rescue - so that both Bicaro and his buddy, Lil Bit, could move forward within rescue families. Lil Bit would join All Shepherd Rescue and Bicaro would join MAGSR.
The boys began their journey into the rescue world with a much needed stop at the vet. Then, they moved into a temporary foster home while they waited for a freedom flight to the mid-Atlantic. Although the boys waited patiently for this last step on their journey toward rescue, the morning of their flight, Bicaro bloated and was rushed to an emergency vet. With an emaciated frame, heartworm positive status, frostbitten ears, and bloat, we knew that Bicaro was in for the fight of his life. However, we also knew that Bicaro deserved the love and care that he had been denied for so many years. MAGSR is fighting with Bicaro and he is incredibly lucky to have a large team of volunteers from various groups on his side. Bloat, also known as gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV) complex, is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate emergency surgery. You can learn more about Bloat HERE. Bicaro survived his surgical procedure and is now being monitored by an emergency vet where he is receiving around the clock care. Although his surgery went well, Bicaro's fight is not over. He will need significant support moving forward and we are hoping that his body continues to heal. Please consider donating to Bicaro's care. Your donations are a critical part of our mission to improve the lives of dogs in need.

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Lenith and his siblings - Leah and Leon - were picked up as strays in the south. These babies were brought to a shelter where they waited for their family to come and claim them. No one stepped forward for these babies. Shelters everywhere are being overwhelmed by the number of homeless animals needing placement. Recognizing that these babies deserved every chance at finding safe and loving forever homes, staff at the shelter began looking for rescue placement for this little family. As luck would have it, our team learned that these babies needed a safe option for moving forward. We immediately began working together to provide them with spaces in the MAGSR family.
Lenith and his siblings are playful, energetic, and intelligent pups. They were clearly socialized prior to their arrival at the shelter. Staff members were absolutely delighted by these three. Their endless puppy behaviors, goofy antics, and playful nature has kept everyone who meets them smiling. As they move forward, all three puppies are looking for forever homes that will provide them with structure, routine, and clear expectations. This will help these adorable pups grow up into stable and confident adults. Although Lenith and his siblings are beyond cute, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, and training, these babies will develop into the good canine citizens we know they are meant to be. If your family is looking for a loveable little guy like Lenith, ask to meet him today!
Updates:Lenny is a social pup - but mainly with dogs! He gets along well with both male and female pups. He immensely enjoys playtime and will collect ALL the toys to put in his crate! He is still learning to trust humans, so it’s a must to go slow with him.
He has learned several commands and picks up on things quickly. Lenny also is a very quiet dog, as he has (so far) rarely barked in our house, but he will join in the fun if the dogs howl. We think he’d do best in a household with other dogs, as he really comes out of his shell with them.
Silvo
ADOPTED 03/14/2024!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Handsome little Silvo came to MAGSR as an owner-surrender with two of his littermates. We are still learning about Silvo at this time. What we do know is he was loved and adored by his previous family and is looking for a forever family that will help him continue to move forward.
Silvo is the gentlest puppy in the litter. His sweet and affectionate nature easily wins over the hearts of everyone around him. A cuddle bug at heart, Silvo would rather snuggle in with his people than explore. When given the opportunity to try new things, Silvo does best when given some reassurance and praise. With positive support behind him, this handsome guy is learning the ins and outs of life with his foster family. Clearly a smart guy, Silvo is already moving forward with leash manners and housebreaking. His foster can't wait to see him continue to try new experiences and pick up new skills. As is true with all shepherds, it is critical that Silvo's forever family continue to socialize him in new people, animals, and in varied environments. It is also essential that Silvo attend training. Not only will training help Silvo build a strong and healthy bond with his forever family, it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a stable and confident canine citizen. If this sweetheart sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet Silvo today!

Jetta is an amazing puppy who already knows many commands and is very respectful of other dogs (large and small). Jetta knows how to sit, down, no, come, leave it and her name. She walks well on leash, but may pull at times when she gets excited. She is not food aggressive, and will leave it if other dogs should get the food/treat. She is extremely bright and is very quick and eager to learn new things. She has potential to be a great sporting dog based on her being very fast and her ability to learn quickly.
Jetta is very affectionate and loves to snuggle but is also very good at laying on her own and minding her business while her humans go about their activities. She loves to play tug, fetch and loves to run around so she can stretch her legs.

Life for Fallon took a sudden turn when she found herself at an overcrowded shelter in the south. Although she couldn't understand why so many people seemed concerned about her finding something called a home, she knew that the word family kept coming up. She heard the word family a lot, but no one came forward to welcome Fallon into their home. Fortunately, staff members at the shelter recognized that overcrowding might lead to euthanization. So, they began working diligently to help Fallon find rescue placement before it was too late. When contacted to see if we could welcome Fallon into the MAGSR family, our team knew that we needed to help. As Fallon joined the family, we made a promise that when the right match stepped forward, we would make sure she would be part of an incredible family.
Fallon is a lovely, energetic, and intelligent girl. She has some good drive and prefers a calm and confident handler. She will likely meet with greatest success in an experienced household that can provide clear leadership and boundaries. When Fallon is placed in an environment with a set structure, routine, and expectations, she thrives. Although Fallon arrived without much in the way of manners, she is a quick study and is picking up new skills. Training will go a long way with this lovely lady. Not only will training help Fallon create a healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Although we see a lot of potential in Fallon's future, we do not have any information about her past. She is moving forward with a clean slate. We are giving her every opportunity to learn about the world around her and lay the groundwork for success with her family. If this smart, athletic, and driven girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

Leah and her siblings - Lenith and Leon - were picked up as strays in the south.
Leah and her siblings are playful, energetic, and intelligent pups. They were clearly socialized prior to their arrival at the shelter. Staff members were absolutely delighted by these three. Updates:Leah has been great with dogs, cats and children. She is an alpha female. She's housebroken and a real cuddle bug! She's also crate trained and the quiet one in the pack.
Brandi
ADOPTED 02/27/2024!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Beautiful Brandi was picked up as a stray with her mate, Boscoe. These two incredible dogs had clearly been through some difficult times. Recognizing that these special pups would be most successful if they decompressed in foster homes, another rescue arranged for them to stay in foster families while they waited out their stray hold. Both dogs were placed in loving foster homes with other dogs. When their stray hold had ended and they had had some time to decompress, we were asked if we could welcome both dogs into the rescue. Really, who could say no to such a lovely pair of dogs?
Brandi is a lovely girl. She arrived with wounds on her shoulders and underweight. Her foster family worked hard to get Brandi healed and healthy. Although we do not know anything about Brandi's past, it does appear that she was mishandled at some point. As a result, she can be timid and fearful with new people, particularly with men. A slow approach and some tasty treats go a long way with Brandi. She does warm up with a calm, confident, and patient handler. Brandi is looking for a forever family that will give her the opportunity to slowly adjust to the household. Providing Brandi with clear structure, routine, and guidance will be key to her success. When ready, Brandi will benefit greatly from training. Training will help Brandi build a strong, healthy bond with her forever family; it will also help her develop the stability and confidence needed to navigate her world. While living with her foster family in the south, Brandi did begin to develop her socialization skills. She also has learned the joys of living in a safe and loving home. At this time Brandi is housebroken and crate trained. However, she will likely need to fine tune her skills once she finds her forever home.
Unfortunately, Brandi is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided had Brandi been provided with monthly heartworm preventatives. Although treatment is very expensive, this active little girl is beyond worth the cost. Brandi's entire heartworm treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Donations toward her care are greatly appreciated as this will help us not only help this lovely girl get all of the care that she needs, but it will also help us continue to support medical dogs in need. Brandi will need to take it easy over the next few months while she completes her treatment. However, this will give her time to adjust to her forever family. If Brandi sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today.
Updates:Are you by any chance a morning person? Do you like to jog or hike? Brandi is looking to be your best friend. She wakes up ready to go and wants to be a velcro pup. After being here for a few weeks we've gotten a chance to see a little bit more about her. She is a pokey puppy. She loves to poke her nose everywhere and get the latest news. I also think she might have been best friends with a cat at some point. She constantly rubs up against everything just like a cat-- starting at her shoulder and curving down to the tail. So cute!
She would do best in a house with a little space from neighbors. She sings the blues when left alone and talks in yips and barks about her day regularly. She also barks loudly at people outside the door. Not characteristics that would be loved by apartment neighbors!
She is housebroken when kept to her schedule and sticks to her potty spot. She knows sit, in the crate, and down, and we are working on targeting/touch. She shows great potential but would do better if allowed exercise to calm her busy brain before being asked to focus.
I think she would be best with older children only. She likes to jump up and lick your face when she is anxious or needs to check back in with you. We are working on correcting that habit but she can't get any exercise right now which doesn't help. She also can be a bit mouthy and she has tried to catch hold of my sleeve (not my arm) a few times. Surprisingly though, she doesn't bite down on your hand when taking a treat. Your whole hand can end up in her mouth with her exuberance to get the food. But, at least she doesn't bite down on you. She is very food motivated and very food-focused right now. She will try to take food away from my dog so she would do best with a dog that is not food protective. I think she would do fine in a house with other dogs that tolerate teen rough-housing, or in a house without other dogs. She could use the exercise provided by a pack but would be fine if you plan on being that exercise source. She does very well with our routine and knows where she's supposed to be and, most importantly, which meal is supposed to come next. Did I mention she's food fixated?
She is not the best gardening buddy. Her favorite thing is to sit right in front of you, right on the dirt you just dug up so you could plant something, sticks her nose in the dirt to check the news, and then tries to give you a kiss right on the mouth. She will help dig though! She is prey driven, however, so she does keep the rabits, birds, and squirrels away from the garden very well. Hard toys only for this pup. She eviscerated a stuffy, grabbed up the pieces and chomped like she was going to swallow them in less than a minute. Fortunately, she is also very distractable (with the promise of food of course).
She is very ready to find her forever family. If you're looking to add a happy, bouncy young lady to your home, please consider her!
Brandi really is a special girl; she is a true GSD and loves with all of her heart and every piece of fur (even the stray ones on the floor!). Despite her previous hardships, the battle wounds on her shoulders, and coming in grossly underweight, she loves fiercely. Thankfully, her foster family continues to diligently work on helping her to heal from the trauma she experienced during the first part of her life. Unfortunately we don’t know much more about Brandi’s past, but given her wounds it is clear she was mishandled. As a result, she is timid and fearful with new people, in particular, men. Therefore, multifaceted and multiple approaches to warm up to Brandi would go a long way with her! Think of slow, gentle, yet confident, approaches with some tasty treats! Once the introduction and ‘dating-phase’ is locked-in, we know Brandi will just melt hearts and be an incredible, protective, typical GSD for the right family. She will do best in a home with a family who is familiar or eager to learn the ways of a true GSD - while providing the essentials - training, structure, boundaries, routines, and continued guidance.
Once Brandi warms-up, she has proven to be a ‘LOVE WITH EVERY FIBER’ gal and will absolutely thrive with a calm, confident and patient handler(s), and a forever family that will patiently give her the opportunity to re-learn that she is loved, cared for and that her new life will be filled with all the things she was missing: love, structure, boundaries, routines and guidance. Providing her with these basic needs, you will watch Brandi blossom in front of your eyes. Her foster family got a sneak peak of her potential (socialization skills, crate trained, house broken, sloppy kisses and more), she just needs a forever family to get her the rest of the way to completely blossom into the beautiful, fiercely loving and fun pooch she has the potential to be. Brandi will form a healthy bond with her forever family and greatly benefit from continued training once she has had the time to complete her decompression and recognize she is safe with her forever family.
LETTER FROM BRANDI:
Scene set: Brandi sitting nicely in place; Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift playing in the background…
“It’s me…Hi…It’s me…Brandi! Where do I start? I’ve had a really rough life before my Heroes at MAGSR picked me up. I can’t really remember exactly what happened, but the scars on my shoulders, and how grossly underweight I was because of the lack of food are really good indicators that I was badly mishandled. I want to love you, I want to love all the nice humans who are trying to take care of me, but the humans that had me before were pretty much the anti-heros…so, it takes me awhile to trust anyone that I won’t be (mis)treated like I was before. I am trying my hardest, and have been through the best training a dog can receive (Mason Dixon K9), this I am really really grateful for! I am slowly rebuilding my confidence, learning that I can trust all humans again, but it takes me time. I like to sniff you out, get used to you and see you a few times. Once I trust you, I will protect you with my life! I really really want a forever home, a family to protect me, and in return, I will be your fierce protector ‘FUR-ever’! Will you take a chance on me? I will if you will!!

The fashion puppies found themselves surrendered to an overcrowded shelter as their owner felt they had too many animals. Although clearly social and interactive, a shelter is not a safe place for puppies as they do not have the immune system in place to help them fight off disease. In addition, living in a crowded and stressful environment is not conducive to healthy development. Recognizing that these babies needed to move forward safely, MAGSR stepped forward and welcomed this sweet set of babies to the rescue.
The fashion puppies - Louis V, Prada, Dior, and Chanel - are ready to find their forever families. These babies are social, interactive, and energetic. They are the perfect mix of fun. Dior has an independent and fun-loving personality. She can hold her own in the group and can be a little sassy. This girl will definitely fill your home with giggles. Having lived in an amazing foster home, these babies have begun learning the ins and outs of living in a household. They, like all GSDs, crave structure, leadership, and consistency. Their foster family has worked hard to put this set-up into place. However, it is very important that their forever family continue this process. It is also essential that their forever family continue to provide these babies with socialization in varied environments with varied people and animals. This will help them meet with success.

The Fairy Sisters - Fern, Merriweather, and Tink - were part of a surprise litter. Although most of their littermates found loving homes, these lovely little ladies were not as lucky. Recognizing that puppies are adorable, but a lot of work, their family decided to surrender them to a shelter. However, this proved to be a dangerous option for these babies. With shelters significantly overcapacity, owner surrenders are often immediately euthanized. In an attempt to save the lives of all three pups, the shelter contacted MAGSR to redirect the Fairy Sisters into our care. Fortunately, our team was able to find incredible foster homes for all three girls. We promised we would find the Fairy Sisters families that would love and cherish them for a lifetime.
Having moved into loving foster families, all three girls are learning the ins and outs of living in a household. Clearly socialized, Merriweather enthusiastically approaches new people, happily accepts food and treats, and loves a good snuggle. Continued opportunities to socialize with new people and new situations will be critical to Merriweather's success. Smart and quick to pick-up new tricks, the girls are beginning some basic training but they also have plenty of opportunities to play. Recognizing that toys should be a vital part of every household, the Fairy Sisters love toys and are hoping their forever families do too. As these girls continue to move forward, they will benefit from continued work and patience with basic commands and leash manners. With so many new expectations, each of the Fairy Sisters will need time to learn the rules, expectations, and routines of their new homes.
Although these girls are beyond lovely, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, Merriweather and her sisters will develop into good canine citizens. If you are looking for a new family member that loves new opportunities, playtime, and endless snuggles, ask to meet Merriweather today!
