Nikia
ADOPTED 04/15/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Nikia was found as a stray and ended up in a shelter. She is a beautiful, well behaved older girl, past the antics of a younger dog. She would be happy hanging with her family, going for strolls and being loved.
Updates:Nikia is settling in great to her foster home. Her foster parents report that Nikia is a delighful dog. She loves to ride in the car and just look out the window. She walks beautifully on a leash with minimal correction ("back") to keep her from walking out front and pulling. Nikia doesn't lunge or bark at people, other dogs, or anything else - just perks her ears up and shows interest but stays quietly by handler's side. Nikia is calm around small children - she perks perked up her ears and sits nicely to watch. Nikia loves tennis balls and tends to hoard them, so attention to taking those away when not supervised is necessary. Nikia likes bully sticks too. Nikia will only play with a toy if it is specifically given to her for play. Nikia stays off the furniture unless given permission. Nikia follows her humans around the house. If Nikia sounds like a good fit for your family, ask to meet her today.
Nikia's playful nature is coming out now that she is getting more secure in her environment. She loves to ride in the car and go for walks and loves to play.
She knows some basic obedience commands and is quite food motivated.
Crate trained. Goes right into the crate to eat and when she wants some down time. She waits patiently by the front door and pants or softly whines when she needs to go out to relieve herself.
She comes when called when she is off leash. She is very social and friendly but never jumps up on people. When she is really excited she does these little leaps in the air but not onto anyone or anything, just leaps a little bit in her own space.
She is very teachable. Has already learned "back" when I want her to get behind me so I can go out the door first.
Brixx
ADOPTED 04/12/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Brixx found himself in a shelter as a stray so we have no history on him. He is somewhat shy at first, but he is friendly. He is good with other dogs. Brixx would love a family of his own who will commit to him for his lifetime.
Updates:Brixx is settling in nicely in his foster home. He is a very dedicated and sweet dog - he seems to love people. Brixx loves attention, does good with basic commands, and is housebroken. He likes to lay at your feet. Brixx will make a very good, loyal pet for somebody or a family. Ask to meet Brixx today!
Ralph
ADOPTED 04/11/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Ralph came to rescue when he was a 6 month old puppy, all cuddly and cute. Of course being a puppy lots of people were interested in adopting him. His family adopted in 2016 and sadly returned him as he is no longer the cute puppy they adopted. Yes, we see this far too much, people getting puppies but once they are grown adults the puppy cuteness has worn off and they are surrendering the dogs through no fault of the dog. While Ralph is no longer a puppy, he is a still a very handsome and loving young boy. Ralph lived in a home with a toddler and did well. He has had no obedience training, so his leash walking skills need improvement. He enjoys being near people receiving attention. He's a sweet boy that just needs some structure and training to make him the perfect little love-bug! Ralph is looking for a family who will commit to him for his lifetime.
Updates:Ralph is doing really well in his foster home. His humans are working on obedience commands with him and he's doing really well. He is learning that as much as he loves to meet new people, it's not polite to jump. He loves to play and dig in the back yard with his foster sister. He's very alert and can hear his foster dad move his chair in the house on another floor which means that it's "Ralph's time" for attention. If Ralph sounds like he could be a good fit for you, please ask to meet him soon.
Ralph is a very well behaved and tolerant gentleman. His sit, stay, down are coming around nicely and his leash manners are good. Ralph is a lovable nut and he's improving all the time.
Wiley
ADOPTED 04/09/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Wiley was found in a trash bag on the side of the road when he was approximately 8 weeks old. Since then he has been passed around from person to person and not always having the best of care. Thankfully the last person who he was given to reached out to us so that Wiley would have the best chance at finding a loving and caring family. Wiley had a vet visit today for his vaccines and check up, he received a clean bill of health, just needs to gain some weight. He is now in a loving foster home enjoying the comforts of a home, toys, treats and good nutrition.
Boyka
ADOPTED 04/09/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Boyka was surrendered to us as his former person was very busy with his graduate studies. He knew that Boyka needed more time and attention then he could give him. Boyka is very well behaved for a 7 month old puppy, he is housebroken and crate trained. He will whine and bark when first going into his crate but will settle. He absolutely loves the company of other dogs, both males and females, he wants to be near them all of the time. He is currently in a foster home with another GSD and Boxer, both are seniors and he does so well with them. He does have a lot of puppy energy, he enjoys going for walks, playing and running in the yard and a good game of keep away is a lot of fun. He does not have perfect leash manners, but they aren't bad for a dog of his age. He is a sponge and soaking up everything his foster mom is teaching him. He has met children of varying ages and did well, but he does not take treats gently and his energy level may be too much for little ones. Boyka is very ready for a good training program and a new forever family.
Clarke
ADOPTED 04/08/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Clark is a handsome German Shepherd puppy who is approx.10 mos. old. Clark was rescued from a bad situation, his owner died and the other relatives threw him out to fend for himself. Despite his size he is still a puppy - happy, inquisitive, and wanting to please, but also needing guidance and patience from his new family. .Clark will need the full range of obedience training classes to help him be the best grown-up dog he can be. Training will also allow Clark to form a bond with his new family. This boy has been through a lot in his short life but is now ready to find a new home and a new family to love.
Updates:Clarke is a wonderful dog and very friendly. Sadly, sweet Clarke tested heartworm positive when seen by a MAGSR vet. He obviously was not started early on monthly Heartworm Preventatives which would have protected him. MAGSR will make sure Clarke gets the treatment he needs to rid his body of Heartworms so that he may enjoy many more years of life. Treatment is expensive but Clarke is certainly worth the cost. Donations towards his treatment would be greatly appreciated – this would also help us save other dogs with medical needs.
Clarke is a happy-go-lucky pup who has settled nicely into his foster home. As a young energetic pup, he has made a lot of progress with a little leadership and consistency. Although it seems that Clarke has had little experience on a leash or with training, this intelligent boy is quickly picking up on new skills. Clarke is learning sit, down, heel, and watch. His foster family reports that this treat motivated boy is always happy to learn a new skill particularly, if a training treat is involved. Clarke has begun some basic training but will definitely need to attend formal training with his forever family. Training will not only help Clarke bond with his new family but, it will also provide him with the guidance needed to address puppy behaviors such as mouthing and jumping.
Due to his heartworm positive status, Clarke isn't able to run and play the way a young dog typically would at this time. However, Clarke is handling his restrictions like a champ. He is very well behaved in the crate and is making great progress with housebreaking. Having learned the joy of a good bone, a few comfortable blankets and a strong chew toy, Clarke seems unfazed by his current circumstance. Although Clarke will need to take it easy for a couple months as he undergoes heartworm treatment, he can't wait to find his forever family!
Luna
ADOPTED 04/08/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Luna came to us from a shelter so we have no history on her. We do know that it looks as though she has had multiple litters. Well her mom days are now over. It is her time to shine as a family pet. She is as sweet as can be with everyone she meets, a well behaved girl.
Diesel
ADOPTED 04/07/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Diesel was surrendered to a shelter when his family moved and could not take him with them. Diesel can take a bit of time to feel comfortable with new people, he just likes a slow approach. Once you have given him time he bonds quickly, especially with women. He enjoys being out for walks and play time, he is good with other dogs and enjoys spending time with his family. This very handsome boy is looking for a family who will commit to him for his lifetime. Training is a must as it will help Diesel build confidence. He requires a leader so that he can feel comfortable.
Updates: Hi guys, Diesel here! I wanted to tell you how much better I am doing now that I am in a foster home. The kennel made me feel insecure and nervous but now I'm feeling much more confident and love to play fetch. I'll even drop the ball for you on command. My foster mom says I already know some basic obedience such as heel, sit, stay, down, and crate. Speaking of my crate,I am the perfect gentleman in it and will go in on command, it's my space and I'm good with that a l thought I probably can be trusted free to roam but foster mom has not tested that out yet. I still take a little time to warm up to new people but once I know you I'm your shadow and welcome belly rubs and will nuzzle you with my head and crawl between your legs for attention. I can be protective of my handler and the home but with proper guidance I will follow your lead. I am not a couch potato so taking me for plenty of walks and allowing me to run around to expend energy is a must. I've proven to my foster mom how smart I am with this thing where she hides treats in a puzzle and I have to use my nose to open different compartments, boy is that a lot of fun! Some of my favorite things are Kong squeaky balls, bully sticks, and tug toys. Foster mom tells me what a wonderful boy I am and that my forever family is out there somewhere, could that be you?! Dax
ADOPTED 04/06/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Dax is a very handsome and big boy. He came to us from a shelter so we have no history for him. He is very friendly with people and enjoys spending time with them. He has done well with other dogs, although he will react to other dogs that bark at him. He would probably do best with a submissive dog, but one that enjoys playtime. He has a more laid back personality, such a wonderful boy.
Updates:Dax is settling in great in his foster home. He’s mellow and does well free in the house – Dax is a very large boy, so he needs a rather large crate. Dax is very strong and big. Dax rides well and is very attentively curious about wildlife (squirrels, geese birds, etc.) and all seem new to him, so he may not have been a country dog in the past. Dax seems to have had some obedience training, but needs to sharpen his skills. Dax loves to snuggle up to his foster mom and dad and likes his chill out and quiet time. Dax is a dog with tremendous potential. If this big loveable boy seems like the perfect fit for your family, ask to meet Dax today!
Apollo
ADOPTED 04/02/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Apollo was surrendered to a shelter as his family had never had a German Shepherd before and didn't realize how much time, training and the commitment it takes. Apollo has not been well socialized with people or other dogs, he has not had training or guidance. He is a big boy for his age but still very much a puppy. He jumps up on people, he pulls hard on the leash and he barks at other dogs. With a good training program, guidance from his new family, exercise and ongoing socialization he will be a wonderful family member. Apollo needs a strong commitment from his new family, you must have the time and patience for him.
Ahsoka
ADOPTED 04/01/2018!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Maren was surrendered to us as her elderly caregivers were moving and could not keep her. She has not had any training or guidance, nor has she been exposed to the world around her. She will need a family who will commit to training to help her build her confidence and of course to learn good canine manners. It is important that Maren has ongoing socialization and is introduced to the sounds, sights and smells of the world. It is her families job to guide her, work with her daily, provide lots of playtime, exercise, love and care.
Updates:Ahsoka, formerly known as Maren, unfortunately has been returned as she was too protective of her home. She did not like when visitors came to the home. This can be managed by putting her away in a secure room and/or crate when people come to the home. She will also benefit greatly from a strong leader who will provide appropriate correction and training. She would do best in a home that does not have frequent visitors and with a family that is willing to put her away when visitors do come. She desperately needs someone who will commit to her to help her learn good manners through a good training program.
Ahsoka is doing beautifully in her foster home. She loves her foster dad, who takes her on bike rides/runs, and she's in love with the resident dogs, especially the male. Ahsoka stays focused on her handler and looks to them for guidance, so as long as the handler is in charge, Ahsoka is a happy and well behaved girl. She doesn't much like things that startle her, but corrects quickly and easily from reacting. Ahsoka will still need to be managed properly to ensure success for her and everyone else involved, which is why Ahsoka will only meet those who have prior experience with the breed. Ahsoka has come a long way - she is a happy and confident girl now and is waiting patiently for that special family to pick her. Is that you?
Malakai
ADOPTED 03/31/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Malakai came to us as an owner surrender. He was much loved by his previous family which included young children and a female GSD. Malakai can be stand offish when he comes to meeting new people, but give him the chance to sniff you and feel comfortable and he will quickly become your best friend. He has leash manners which results in him pulling quite hard when walking. Our volunteers are working with him but his will need to also be addressed by his new family. Training is so very important, it will help Malakai learn what is expected of him, it will help with socialization along with build a bond with his new family. Ask to meet this handsome boy to see if he is a good fit for your family.
Bently
ADOPTED 03/30/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Bentley is a handsome Shepherd mix. He is a fun dog that enjoys running around and playing. He does have some training, but will require more training with his new family. Training helps both the dog and humans learn more about each other, work better together and creates a bond.
Chip
ADOPTED 03/29/2018!
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Meet Chip! Chip is an older gentleman who found himself on hard times after his former family fell ill and could no longer provide for him. He was surrendered to a local shelter. Luckily, for all involved, we were able to provide a caring home in his hour of need. He is now resting comfortably in the home of a very loving and compassionate care giver. Because of his advanced age, Chip is very arthritic, a little unstable on his feet and requires joint medication. A home with no steps is a must and limited non-slip floors are preferred. Currently, we are trying to take a little excess weight off of him. However, even with limited mobility, he manages to get around. Chip loves going for car rides and bonds very quickly to his favorite people. He is very charming and wants nothing more than to be loved and spend quiet time with his favorite people.
Midnight
ADOPTED 03/25/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Midnight cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Midnight has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a ten to twelve year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Midnight will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. Please inquire if Midnight sounds like a good match for your family.
Updates:Midnight was attacked by a medium sized dog prior to her arrival in our care. She sustained bite wounds to her face and mouth which were sutured. Upon arrival to our care she was seen by our vet who referred her to a dental specialist. Midnight was examined 3/6/18 by the dental specialist and it is found that her upper palate is fractured but is healing well and will continue to heal on its own. Three of her baby teeth were damaged and had to be extracted. X-rays did reveal that her adult teeth buds are present, but until they erupt it is unknown if they have sustained any damage. If they have they may need to be removed. If they do not erupt they may be absorbed or they may need to be removed. Midnight also has a small puncture in her nasal cavity which is causing a snorting sound when she breathes, but it in no way is impeding her breathing and she has very good airflow. She may or may not have the snorting sound for life. The specialist stated she is a young, happy, growing puppy which is beneficial to her healing.
Midnight is doing great in her foster home and has recovered from her dental surgery to remove the puppy teeth damaged by the dog bite. She is making progress on potty training. Midnight is not shy at all and takes any new experience in stride. Midnight corrects easily, is super playful and gets into everything, as all puppies do. She loves the resident cats and wants to play with them and adores the resident dogs. Midnight is an awesome girl. Ask to meet her today.
Abigail
ADOPTED 03/24/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Abigail was surrendered as her elderly family could not manage the energy of a young dog. Abigail is so very sweet and pretty. She does have a lot of puppy energy that will need to be directed by providing her with exercise, playtime, long walks and of course training. A young energetic dog takes a lot of patience and time. Please be sure you have the time and are ready to make a commitment to Abigail for her lifetime.
Fritz
ADOPTED 03/24/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Fritz found himself in a shelter for reasons unknown. He is now safely in our care waiting patiently to find his forever family. He is a calmer boy with a friendly disposition. He does have some good manners but will require formal obedience training so that he can be the best he can be. Training is so very important, not just for the dog but also for their families.
Updates:Fritz is like a loveable, huggable teddy bear. He's great on walks, especially with other dogs. Fritz loves to hang around where his humans are. He likes his crates and loves to go outside - when his humans head for the door, Fritz runs to the door and gets excited. Fritz can be a little stubborn sometimes, but is still a very good boy. Fritz loves attention, and he's a very calm, laid back dog. If Fritz sounds like a good fit for your family, ask to meet him soon.
Josie
ADOPTED 03/24/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Josie along with her sister were surrendered to us as their human dad is in hospice care. He loves his girls very much and wants them to have a wonderful life. Josie is understandably quite confused with the recent changes, but will adjust with time. Josie was examined by our vet and found to be what he believes may be cataracts. She will be seen by an eye specialists and receive proper care. Please consider Josie, a family of her own will certainly help her move forward and settle in.
Updates:Josie had surgery for her cataracts and is doing fantastic post-op. She had her first followup appointment and her pressures and eye function is looking great. Josie is learning to navigate better and her anxiety level has lessened now that she can see. Josie does well in a crate and is getting along great with the resident female dog and could care less about the resident rabbit. If Josie sounds like a good fit for your family, please ask to meet her.
Kimba
ADOPTED 03/23/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kimba was surrendered to us as her previous family stated she had too much energy and shed too much. She lived in her previous home with smaller dogs and did well. She has not been around children or cats so we do not know if she is good with them. She is a friendly girl and oh so beautiful. She will need a family that is willing to exercise and play with her, this will help her burn some energy. Of course training is necessary.
Traeger
ADOPTED 03/17/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Traeger was surrendered to a shelter and needed out quickly due to lack of space. MAGSR responded to the plea to help Traeger who is very frightened and confused at this time. His previous family stated he was great with cats, but we have not tested him. He did well with the dogs he met and played with at the shelter. His previous family also stated that he can be protective of his person when walking on the street. This will need to be addressed with training, helping him build confidence and having a strong, experienced handler.
Sadie
ADOPTED 03/11/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sadly Sadie recently lost her human dad as he unexpectedly passed away and her human mom is disabled and hospitalized. As you can imagine Sadie is quite confused as to why she is not with her family, in a strange place with people she does know. We are giving her time to settle in and adjust to her new surroundings. She has been skittish with us but once she is comfortable with our volunteers she comes out of her shell and enjoys romping around. Sadie would do best in a home that is not very busy as she is somewhat of a flight risk as she continues to look for her family. With time and patience she will overcome this and become bonded to her new family.
Sadie is doing very nicely in her foster home and is fully acclimated to her humans and resident foster dogs with no issues. Sadie loves her foster fur-siblings. She goes biking with them, plays off-leash in the yard with them, and settles nicely with them in the home. Overall, once she is comfortable in her surroundings she is a big puppy – very sweet and very animated and excitable. Sadie is shy and cautious around new people, so her foster parents are working on that with her and helping her lose weight as well. If this sweet girl sounds like she could be good fit for your family, ask to meet her today.

Riana ran out in the road in the dark of night almost being hit. Luckily the person driving saw her then decided to follow her to try to catch her. Riana ran to a driveway which was her home. The owner came out and said he did not want her and surrendered on the spot. She is a typical young dog, full of energy, has no manners and has a lot to learn. She is in a foster home learning some manners. Training of course is needed, which her new family will have to commit to. Please be sure you are up to the challenges that come with raising a young dog, they are a commitment for their lifetime and require time and patience.
Chief
ADOPTED 03/03/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Meet Chief! He's a young, exuberant boy. He was surrendered to a shelter when his family reported they could not handle him. However, he has had very minimal training. This is a perfect example of why training is so important. His former family stated he was good with children and cats, but we have not yet tested him with either.
While he is still very new to us, we will provide updates as we learn more about him. As of now, though he is still somewhat bewildered about what has happened, we are happy to report that he is doing well
and is warming to us while we get to know each other. Stay tuned!
Harmony
ADOPTED 03/03/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Harmony was found as a stray and ended up in a shelter. She is missing a rear paw which appears to be from an old injury. This does not slow her down, she can run and play as well as any 4 pawed dog. She is friendly and very much enjoys a good belly rub. Harmony will need training to help her overcome her dislike of vacuums, hairdryers, etc. This can be easily dealt with by putting her away when these items are in use and of course ongoing training. Harmony will make a loving companion for a very lucky family.
Updates:Sweet Miss Harmony is a friendly little cuddle bug.
Though she is small, she is mighty… Cute. If you're looking for a dog to guard your home, keep looking. Harmony greets everyone she sees with her belly exposed ready for rubs and snuggles.
She is doing well in her foster home. She enjoys attention from children and is getting along with the resident dog. She established boundaries with him letting him know that she doesn't like to roughhouse. Harmony would happily live with another dog but she would be just as happy to be an only dog. She is looking for somewhere that she can be spoiled rotten.
Harmony would not do well in a home with cats. She has a strong prey drive and cats are just way too much fun. She also likes chasing animals when she is outside. Even though she small she can create a significant impact at the end of her leash when she sees a squirrel. So it's important to always be on the lookout and have a good grasp on her leash.
Harmony is learning to respond to her name. She does not come when she's called yet. However once you have her attention she has learned how to sit. She also understands to come and drop it but she does not consistently follow it, yet. Harmony is doing very well with housebreaking her last accident was at the door where we leave to go for walks. So she has figured it out.
Harmony does not mind being crated during the day while the family is at work/school. She even goes in her crate from time to time when people are home to relax. She would prefer to go to a home where somebody lets her sleep on a dog bed on the floor in their room.
Harmony is missing a hind paw for reasons that are unknown to us. However, she has no trouble walking, running, climbing steps, navigating tree branches etc. on a walk. In fact, we're pretty sure Harmony doesn't know her paw is missing. So please don't tell her when you meet her.

Tess was surrender as her family could no longer care for her. She was very much loved and this was a difficult decision. In her former home she lived with another dog and small children. She is a very sweet girl, she's playful and enjoys games of fetch. Tess is young, will need guidance and structure from her family along with training. She is looking for a family who will make a commitment to her for her lifetime

Lucy cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Lucy has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a ten to twelve year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Lucy will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. Please inquire if Lucy sounds like a good match for your family.
Kayla
ADOPTED 02/26/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kayla is approximately 10 months old. She came from a horrific hoarding situation. A large number of dogs that had no medical care, lack of human contact and socialization, filthy living environments, etc. Kayla is quite skittish at this time, she will need a person who will help bring her out of her shell. She needs socialization, to be introduced to the world around her, proper care and direction from her family. She deserves the chance to know that not all people are bad, that she is safe and much loved. A quieter, less active home would be best for her, with someone who has the patience to help her move forward. A home with a lot of people coming and going, especially young children would not be in her best interest. It is not that Kayla is not good with children, but she is a possible flight risk due to her skittishness. A door inadvertently left open could prove dangerous for Kayla. In the short time she has been in our care she has started to come out of her shell, interested in new things and seeking out attention. It is imperative that the family adopting Kayla is certain it will be for her lifetime, please be sure you can make that commitment.
Gema
ADOPTED 02/25/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Gema came to us from a shelter, where she had been adopted from but then returned. She was in a open feed situation with a number of other dogs in the home and Gema could not handle being fed that way with other dogs. To take a dog and put them with dogs who were raised with open feeding and expect them to just fit in at feeding time is most times not going work. One big bowl of food for all of the dogs and you can only imagine how this could not work. Gema is a friendly girl and does enjoy the company of other dogs, but she will require to be fed separately. Training and guidance will go a long way for Gema, helping her learn to be well balanced and the best she can be.
Bo
ADOPTED 02/25/2018!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 12
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Bo came to us from a shelter, so we have no history on him. He can be picky about his dog friends and may do best as an only dog or with female dogs. Training of course will go a long way helping Bo settle in, learn some manners and how to properly interact with other dogs. With people he is very friendly, although we do not know how he is with children at this time.
Updates:Bo is great dog, and he's doing nicely in foster. His weight is up to 84lbs from 69lbs a month ago, and he loves to run and is building muscle - he is really looking good. He has been going to training for a few weeks and is doing very well the class, both with his basic commands and in terms of his confidence and socialization. He does fine in his crate (although he will start to make a racket sometimes if he feels he's missing out on something!), is house broken, and has acclimated well, and is happy and comfortable with his two older GSD foster siblings. Bo still has a lot to learn, but overall he's a very sweet and responsive dog, that is progressing well and will make a great addition to the right lucky home, that is ready to provide the care and love that Bo so richly deserves.
Handsome a sweet Bo was returned to MAGSR thru no fault of his own after his family decided they no longer wanted him. Bo’s prior family never truly committed to him and he spent most of his time in a crate. Bo is an active and friendly boy who needs exercise and continued training, as do most German Shepherds. Bo is ready for a forever family who will truly commit to him, spend time with him and not lock him in a crate and not give him up when he becomes an inconvenience. If interested in meeting this handsome boy, ask to meet Bo today!
Blitz

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Blitz was found dumped on the side of the road, very scared and confused. This sweet boy is deaf and was alone it was no wonder he was scared. Don't let the idea of a deaf dog scare you from adopting him, they can be easily trained with the use of a vibration collar and hand signals. Blitz didn't deserve to tossed away like trash, he is a sweet and loving puppy who will make a wonderful family member. He is currently in a foster home getting use to his new surroundings and of course living the good life he so deserves. Please open your heart and home to him, he will be forever grateful.
Updates:Blitz loves to play, when he’s not running around with one of my dogs he is following me around being jovial. He is housebroken, he makes it through the entire night. He has not had one accident since he has gotten here. He’s great on the leash, he doesn't pull but walks beside you. He loves to chew on bones and is really good at figuring out what’s his and what isn’t.He is also a big teddy bear, he loves to snuggle and give Eskimo kisses.
Blitz just loves toys and balls - he sorts through the toy box to find just the right one to play with each time. Blitz is very friendly and social and is happy playing with his foster fur-sibling and doesn't mind being in the crate either. If Blitz sounds like a good fit for you, ask to meet him today.

Good With Kids: Unknown

Grayson was picked up as a stray and taken a shelter. The owners were contacted but they never picked him up. Grayson is now in our care looking for his forever family. Grayson is a big, strong boy who has had no training and no leash manners. He was introduced to other dogs at the shelter and did fine, he was also introduced to cats and showed no interest. Grayson will benefit greatly from obedience training and structure. He has a lot to learn but, once taught, he will be a well mannered boy.
Berl
ADOPTED 02/18/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Berlioz (Berl) came to us from a shelter where he was taken after his family moved. In his previous home he lived with children and another dog. Berl has a lot of energy, nothing that a good run, playtime or a long walk won't help. He does need training as it is obvious his previous family did not spend any time teaching good manners. He is very friendly with everyone he meets, quite the love bug.
Updates:Berl is only a couple days in with his fosters and is acclimating well. They are working on housebreaking with him and he's getting along very nicely with the resident female dog - they play a lot. Berl has endless energy and love to bury his head into his human when he's getting some affection. One thing about Berl, that we won't tell him, is that he snores some .. it'll be our secret. If Berl, the energetic, playful and affectionate boy, sounds like a good fit for you, please ask to meet him today.
Berl has made much success in the housebreaking area after his first 24 hours in the house - he's a smart boy and quick learner. Berl met the resident grandchildren this week and he loved them as much as they loved him. Berl is crate trained and enjoys taking breaks in his crate. Berl knows his place with the resident female GSD and has accepted it - has also adapted very well to her level of play - where you find one of them, the other isn't too far away. The latest information from the foster is that Berl is very respectful but just had to crawl up to his foster parents and cuddle with them in bed - which he's also pretty awesome at. Berl is one awesome character and special boy. Ask to meet him today.

Piper
ADOPTED 02/17/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes

Bristol was not well cared for by her previous person. She often went without being fed, allowed to run at large putting her in danger of being hit by cars. She has had no training and no guidance. Regardless of her lack of her care and guidance she is a sweet, friendly young girl. She enjoys the company of and playing with other dogs and she is good with children. Of course she will require formal training, it not only teaches her how to be a well behaved and balanced girl, but it also helps with creating a bond with her new family. Please be sure you have the time and patience to commit to Bristol for the rest of her life.
Updates:Unfortunately Piper was returned to us after almost 5 months after showing too much interest in the resident cats. Piper is understandably confused why her family gave her up. Her foster reports that she doesn't appear to have had much training. Piper is now in a foster home where she'll wait for the right family and learn what she can learn during that time, along with playing with the resident dog. If you can commit to Piper for her lifetime, please ask to meet her.
Hi. My new name is Piper – I have had a few names in my short life but this one has stuck. I answer really well to my new name.
As you can see I am back with the great people of MASGR. My foster mom says I am all the best things found in a puppy and GSD. BUT, if those are not what you are looking for, I am not the best fit for you. I am super smart, cute and loyal. Also I am a puppy and I have a lot of energy and love to play …. all day. Remember I am a working bread and need to have exercise and mental stimulation to keep me, and you ultimately, happy and healthy. Please be committed to meeting my activity and mental stimulation needs. My foster mom says I would be best with a furry brother or sister who I can play with and in an active family. I love kids! But obviously I am a pretty big dog and a puppy – so would be best with children comfortable with big dogs. I love all people, dogs, toys and belly rubs! Overall, I am a naturally very well behaved dog. Though I do need some additional training - have started learning basic commands, but am not yet consistent. I do need additional training for walking on a lead. I am great about being house trained – but since I play a lot and drink a lot - thus need to get out to do my business. I am an amazing dog and have had a lot of change in my short life – but there are no obvious negative impacts – I have taken it all in stride. But I deserve a wonderful forever family – one where we are both together a great fit - me for you, and you for me. If you think you are that family – ask to meet me. It’ll be hard for you to not fall in love…..
