Bentley is a handsome Shepherd mix. He is a fun dog that enjoys running around and playing. He does have some training, but will require more training with his new family. Training helps both the dog and humans learn more about each other, work better together and creates a bond.
Chip
ADOPTED 03/29/2018!
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Meet Chip! Chip is an older gentleman who found himself on hard times after his former family fell ill and could no longer provide for him. He was surrendered to a local shelter. Luckily, for all involved, we were able to provide a caring home in his hour of need. He is now resting comfortably in the home of a very loving and compassionate care giver. Because of his advanced age, Chip is very arthritic, a little unstable on his feet and requires joint medication. A home with no steps is a must and limited non-slip floors are preferred. Currently, we are trying to take a little excess weight off of him. However, even with limited mobility, he manages to get around. Chip loves going for car rides and bonds very quickly to his favorite people. He is very charming and wants nothing more than to be loved and spend quiet time with his favorite people.
Midnight
ADOPTED 03/25/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Midnight cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Midnight has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a ten to twelve year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Midnight will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. Please inquire if Midnight sounds like a good match for your family.
Updates:Midnight was attacked by a medium sized dog prior to her arrival in our care. She sustained bite wounds to her face and mouth which were sutured. Upon arrival to our care she was seen by our vet who referred her to a dental specialist. Midnight was examined 3/6/18 by the dental specialist and it is found that her upper palate is fractured but is healing well and will continue to heal on its own. Three of her baby teeth were damaged and had to be extracted. X-rays did reveal that her adult teeth buds are present, but until they erupt it is unknown if they have sustained any damage. If they have they may need to be removed. If they do not erupt they may be absorbed or they may need to be removed. Midnight also has a small puncture in her nasal cavity which is causing a snorting sound when she breathes, but it in no way is impeding her breathing and she has very good airflow. She may or may not have the snorting sound for life. The specialist stated she is a young, happy, growing puppy which is beneficial to her healing.
Midnight is doing great in her foster home and has recovered from her dental surgery to remove the puppy teeth damaged by the dog bite. She is making progress on potty training. Midnight is not shy at all and takes any new experience in stride. Midnight corrects easily, is super playful and gets into everything, as all puppies do. She loves the resident cats and wants to play with them and adores the resident dogs. Midnight is an awesome girl. Ask to meet her today.
Abigail
ADOPTED 03/24/2018!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Abigail was surrendered as her elderly family could not manage the energy of a young dog. Abigail is so very sweet and pretty. She does have a lot of puppy energy that will need to be directed by providing her with exercise, playtime, long walks and of course training. A young energetic dog takes a lot of patience and time. Please be sure you have the time and are ready to make a commitment to Abigail for her lifetime.
Fritz
ADOPTED 03/24/2018!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Fritz found himself in a shelter for reasons unknown. He is now safely in our care waiting patiently to find his forever family. He is a calmer boy with a friendly disposition. He does have some good manners but will require formal obedience training so that he can be the best he can be. Training is so very important, not just for the dog but also for their families.
Updates:Fritz is like a loveable, huggable teddy bear. He's great on walks, especially with other dogs. Fritz loves to hang around where his humans are. He likes his crates and loves to go outside - when his humans head for the door, Fritz runs to the door and gets excited. Fritz can be a little stubborn sometimes, but is still a very good boy. Fritz loves attention, and he's a very calm, laid back dog. If Fritz sounds like a good fit for your family, ask to meet him soon.
