Celia

Celia found herself in a shelter after found wandering on her own. Her age is estimated at a year old but she could be younger. She is friendly and happy along with being beautiful. While at the shelter she kept her kennel area so she may be housebroken. Life on the run is no way to live, Celia wants the love and care of a family, a comfy bed, toys, exercise, good food and training.
Updates:Hi I'm Celia! I just love living in a house with comfy beds and chew toys. My foster mom always tells me what a good girl I am and how I have excellent house manners. I'm housebroken, I don't beg at the dinner table or jump on furniture, although I'm sure your bed would be very comfy. I can be a little timid around new visitors, but give me a treat and pet me and I will be your friend. I love spending time outside on the deck and going for walks, but I could improve my leash skills, although my foster mom tells me I've improved a lot (I'm working on my basic commands too). Please ask to meet me!!
Sweet Celia was returned to MAGSR thru no fault of her own. She lost her dad unexpectedly and her mom was no longer able to care for her and give her the time and exercise she needs. Celia is understandably confused right now and needs to lose a few pounds. Once Celia bonds with her human and gets comfortable, she becomes protective of her humans and her space. This can be easily managed by putting her away in a secure room and/or crate when people come to the home. She will also benefit from a strong leader, who has prior experience with the breed, and who will provide appropriate correction and training. Celia would like to find a forever home with a forever family who will commit to her and not give her up. Could that be your family?
I love my doggie beds, one in the living room where everybody sits, and one in the bedroom where my humans sleep. I like when my human comes home, I have my tail waggin', a happy face, and rub against them. I let my humans know when a car door shuts outside by running to the door and barking. I'm a little nervous around strange people, I do not like thunderstorms, I don't do well in crates because I figure out how to bust out of them. I do real good when I'm left with the range of the house. I like my Nyla-bone, and keep it by my bed in the living room and don't let the resident dog get close to it. I do good on walks, I let my humans know when I need to go out by jumping up, whining and leaning against them. I love ice cubes, and I roll over onto my back to get belly rubs. I bond very quickly with my humans and look forward to finding my forever home.
Arrow
ADOPTED 11/15/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown

Arrow was found on a road with his leg severely broken, dragging it. He was rushed to the emergency vet but unfortunately there was nothing that could be done to save his leg. His leg was amputated 10/15/2017. He is doing very well as a tri-paw, he gets around, can climb up and go for walks. He is such a sweet and loving boy, he smoothers everyone he meets in kisses. He is resting comfortably in a foster home recovering from his surgery. As the trip was long to get Arrow to us, we were very blessed to have a pilot and his wife with Pilots and Paws fly round trip to pick him up to get him to us. He did so well on his very first flight and greeted everyone with tail wags and kisses. Once his sutures are removed Arrow will be free to live life like any 4 legged dog. Tri-paws adapt very quickly and do not let a missing leg hold them back. Ask to meet this special boy, we are sure he will amaze you and steal your heart.
April
ADOPTED 11/13/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes

April's life is forever changed, thanks to those who saved her from horrid and unsafe living conditions. It is amazing that with all that April has endured she is so incredibly sweet and wants to be loved and properly cared for. April deserves a family who will provide a wonderful life for her, one full of love and a commitment for her lifetime.
Updates:Lovely April is a remarkable girl. Like many pups before her, April seems to know she has been rescued and will never be subjected to the horrible conditions from which she survived. She enjoys the company of everyone she meets and seems grateful to anyone who notices her. April tends to take most things in stride. Having to learn the ins and outs of a new home can be unnerving; however, April seems excited to have the opportunity to enjoy the good life. She has discovered the joy of a good bone, soft bed, and plenty of toys. Living with other dogs, April is slowly learning the ins and outs of pack life. We are very impressed with her playful nature. April is goofy yet affectionate. She will happily sit for as long as you'll allow while you rub her beautiful ears. If this amazingly girl sounds like a match for your family, please inquire about her today.
I have spent some time with April the last two Saturdays. Her behavior has been great both days. Yesterday she patiently sat in her "run" while I leashed her up, even though another dog had been brought into the kennel area and they were all barking about it. She is eager to please and knows quite a few commands, sit, down, an elementary stay, and come. It has been easy to get her attention. She takes treats gently, loves to have her ears rubbed and can be a leaner. She has also been fine about other dogs being in her general area while we are out and about in the field. We are working on leash walking, she wants to pull ahead a bit, but no lunging. She is content to walk, work on commands, be brushed or just chill out by the picnic table.
Gatlin
ADOPTED 11/11/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Gatlin, puppy to a female GSD and male Great Pyrenees, was dumped at a shelter. Gatlin cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little boy, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Gatlin has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a 10-12 year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Gatlin will become even more of an amazing boy than he already is. If interested and he sounds like a good match for your family, please submit an adoption application for Gatlin!
Sherman
ADOPTED 11/09/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown

Sherman came to us from a local shelter where he was surrendered. We are told that in his previous home, he was protective of his property and wary of strangers. When MAGSR took him in, he was a little detached and aloof. However, he's starting to come out of his shell and his personality is starting to shine. When he is with his favorite people, he is very laid back and pretty obedient. He really wants to please those he is closest to. He is starting to bond with his favorite handler and has been known to give kisses loves to shake/give paw for treats. He loves to go for rides in a vehicle and rides very quietly. He also likes riding on the motorized golf cart type vehicle which is used at the kennel. You can see him in attached photos lying on the front seat and in the rear cargo area. We also discovered he likes swimming with his handler which has allowed him to open up and bond as well as get some exercise. Just today, he was introduced to a very passive, calm female shepherd and he did very well with her. So as you can see, we have been introducing him to a lot of fun, new things and he is handling all of it well. He will need a confident, experienced handler as he is a big intimidating boy who needs to know that his human(s) have got the situation under control. We are extremely happy to see his progress and will update as we learn more about him.
Updates:We are happy to report that Sherman is doing really well! He's become attached to his favorite handlers and lights up when he sees them.
He's also been to the local Pet Valu and PetSmart to do some shopping. He's curious about all the smells and he conducts himself very well.
He's also become very fond of the swimming pool at the kennel and shows no fear of it whatsoever. Just today, he spent some time with the white shepherd seen in the attached photos and he does well with her.
He also spent time in the home of that shepherd's family and found a nice comfy bed to snuggle up on and take a nap.
