Meet adorable Carter, an 8 month old German Shepherd mix. Carter found himself as a stray, very underweight out in the cold. He made his way to a home where he was taken in and cared for while they tried to find his family. He was in a home with 11 Hound Dogs and did well with them. He is friendly with everyone he meets. Carter is still putting on such much needed weight, of course good nutrition and regular meals helps with this. Ask to meet Carter, he is ready for stability and a family of his very own.
Updates:Carter is settling nicely in his foster home. Carter is housebroken, crate trained & walks well on a leash. Carter loves everyone he meets and is a complete love bug who showers his humans with kisses and tail wags. Carter rides well in a car and loves to play. If Carter sounds like a good fit for your family, ask to meet him
Oso
ADOPTED 04/19/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes

Oso a very handsome, big boy weighing in at 105 lbs. Although he is large, he is a gentle giant. Oso's favorite activity is to play with balls, the more balls the better, yes even soccer and basketball size balls. It is imperative that all dogs go through obedience training and Oso is not exception. With a dog of this size you want to have good manners, this will make walking him on a leash much more enjoyable.
Unfortunately Oso was returned to us. Family members moved into his home, after he had lived there over a year, with small dogs that Oso did not get along with, so he got the boot. He was fine with the neighbors female GSD. He came back to us over weight so he has been put on diet, that along with exercise he should be down a good weight in no time.
Updates:Oso sure does LOVE balls, all sizes, squeaky and otherwise, this boy goes nuts for them! He's a very calm, loving sweetheart who will be a great companion on walks or just hanging around. He's easy on the leash, takes treats gently, sits nicely for brushing and knows basic commands. A training class will help with bonding to this honey of a dog, once complete you will have a wonderful friend. Just look at that smile, with his size and demeanor, he's sure to impress!
Oso has been a very good boy in his foster home and very respectful. Oso knows sit and stay until he gets his release command before he goes for his food and he is working on and getting better about taking treats gently. Oso loves belly rubs and loves being petted on the head and around the ears (he's a real fan of shoulder massages). Oso will give his human kisses. Oso is working on his leash manners and after walking a bit, will settle into a nice heel. Oso is a very kind and gentle soul. If Oso sounds like a good fit for your family, ask to meet him.
Oso is settling into his new foster home more day by day. He know basic commands such as sit and down. With a strong leader, he walks well on a leash. Oso is completely house broken and has had no accidents in the house although he doesn't know which door to go to because he hasn't been in his new foster home long enough to know. Oso loves being pet and let's you know he wants attention. He is well behaved in his crate when he can't hear or see anyone. When he knows his humans are around, he wants to be with them. Oso loves being in his foster home but he would love a furever home instead.
Dutchess
ADOPTED 04/18/2017!
Good With Kids: No

Dutchess came into our care after an urgent last minute plea from the shelter as she needed to be monitored. She had been dumped at a vets office by her person, stating they didn't want her. Dutchess is blind in one eye which was caused by an injury that her person never got medical attention for. She also has a head tilt for reasons unknown at this time. She will be thoroughly examined by our vet and will receive any medical treatment needed once a diagnosis is made. We do know that she had lived her life on a chain. Dutchess has a very sweet personality giving kisses to those she meets. Dutchess deserves a start at a new life, one where her family will properly care for and love her.

Lily
ADOPTED 04/16/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Lily came to MAGSR underweight and from a very sad situation. Lily previously lived in a hoarding situation with 14 other dogs. Lily was underfed and used for breeding. Because of all that Lily has endured, she is confused and scared, and she needs to learn to trust and know she'll be well taken care of. Now that MAGSR has Lily, we hope she will quickly adjust and learn that she will receive regular meals, attention, and proper socialization. If Lily sounds like the right dog for your household, please ask about her today.
Care for these hoarding rescues is putting a severe strain on MAGSR's resources. Donations towards their treatment would be greatly appreciated, this would also help us save other dogs with medical needs.
