DESCRIPTION:

Stunning Shep was picked up as a stray in the south and brought to a local animal control. Upon arrival, it was highly evident that this boy needed medical attention as soon as possible. With a severe ear infection and raw, painful paws, and underweight Shep was incredibly uncomfortable and in need of help. Fortunately, the right people heard about Shep's situation and began working with rescue groups to find a temp foster and rescue placement. When asked if we could provide Shep with a rescue option, team MAGSR knew that Shep would make an incredible addition to the family. With an amazing foster family in place, we welcomed this handsome boy to the MAGSR family.

Recognizing that Shep needed medical support right away, we worked with several groups to ensure he had what he needed. Shep had his medical needs addressed and was placed in a loving home to recuperate. Seeming to understand that this was his chance to decompress and let the healing process happen, Shep took some time to relax and get healthy again. Once he started feeling better, we were able to move him to one of our experienced foster homes where Shep had the chance to start acting like a dog again. An active guy with a high ball drive, Shep's all-time favorite activities involve balls. He will happily chase and mouth a ball for hours. In fact, it seems that he is hoping that his forever family has an affinity for throwing as, in his mind, humans are meant to be his personal throwing machine. Still learning the finer points of playing, Shep still needs some time to further decompress and learn the ins and outs of appropriate play. This guy is looking for an active family that will provide the structure, routine, and expectations needed to meet the needs of a headstrong shepherd. He would likely be happiest with a job, like nosework, or an activity, like treibball. With a little refinement, Shep would likely excel at Rally or flyball! Living in a foster home, Shep is learning the ins and outs of living in a home. He is learning to crate train and housebreak. He is also learning about the general routines and expectations of living in a GSD savvy home. However, he will need time and patience to adjust to the expectations and routines of his forever family. As is true of all dogs, training will be key to Shep's success. Not only will training help Shep build a healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.

Shep is your typical teenage shepherd seeking attention and a good time. If you are looking for an intelligent, fun-loving, active shepherd, Shep could be the guy for you!

DESCRIPTION:

Beautiful Baxter and his buddy, Ella, were beyond adored by his dad. They were the perfect little family. It is clear that Baxter's dad went above and beyond to ensure he was safe and loved. Although his dad had planned to care for Baxter until the day he crossed the bridge, unfortunately, things didn't work out as planned. Baxter's dad passed away a few months ago. Baxter and his buddy, Ella, stayed close to their dad until the very end. Knowing his furry babies would be safe and loved, Baxter and Ella's dad was able to cross over. Family members stepped up to help but recognized that they could not provide Baxter or Ella with the life they knew both dogs deserved. To ensure that the dogs moved forward, the family worked with MAGSR to welcome Baxter and Ella into our care promising that we would find them exactly the right match.

Baxter is a big, handsome, and intelligent guy. Social and well-loved, Baxter has a strong foundation and is quickly learning new skills. Typical of the breed, this good-looking boy is most successful when he exercises both his body and his mind on a daily basis. Treat motivated and very intelligent, Baxter can't wait to start training. Training will be highly beneficial for this boy. Not only will training help Baxter develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen, but it will also help him build a strong and healthy relationship with his new family. Baxter is incredibly lucky to have lived in an amazing home. He is housebroken and well behaved in the house. Not a big fan of toys, but definitely excited to run about in the yard or explore trails, the neighborhood, or new places on leash, Baxter enjoys his time out and out with his people. Although Baxter knows quite a bit about living in a household, as is true of all new dogs, he will need time to adjust to the routines and expectations of his forever family.

Baxter is looking for an incredible family that will continue to help him move forward, participate in training, and adore him just as his dad did for a lifetime. If Baxter sounds like a great match for your family, ask to meet this sweet guy today!

DESCRIPTION:

Handsome Kash and his sweet buddy, Kai, were absolutely adored by their family. Having grown up in a loving home, these boys had everything they needed and thrived. Unfortunately, when a new member joined the household, a severe allergy developed. Kash and Kai's family worked with doctors to address this allergy so that the family could remain together, but these measures proved unsuccessful and the boys were moved to a separate part of the home. Although they still received as much attention as possible, a complete separation was necessary in order to keep everyone healthy. The family remained this way for some time; however, they knew this wasn't fair to Kash and Kai. Recognizing that the boys would need to be rehomed for everyone's safety and happiness, Kash and Kai's family reach out for help. This was not an easy decision, but it was the best option to help the boys move forward. Knowing both Kash and Kai were incredible dogs that deserved a safe option to move forward, they were welcomed to the MAGSR family.

Kash is an outdoorsy guy. He loves the fresh air, freedom to run around, and the sunshine. A ball guy through and through, Kash is hardly ever found without a ball in his mouth or right next to him. Happy to chill with the ball, Kash keeps it close for security. However, he is beyond excited to play fetch with his people. He is hoping that his forever family is ready to keep their throwing arm in good shape. Comfortable with other dogs, Kash has been well-socialized. He is most comfortable with his buddy, Kai, and wouldn't mind resettling in a home with his partner in crime. Having lived in a GSD savvy home, Kash has learned the ins and outs of living in a household. He is house-broken and crate trained. He will even help you keep things clean, as dirty clothes are his one vice. True of all new dogs, Kash will need time to adjust to his forever family. With structure, routine, leadership, and daily activities, Kash will thrive. Training will be key to his success. Although he already knows some basics, training will help Kash develop a strong and healthy bond with his forever family. In addition, it will help him develop the skills he needs to become a good canine citizen.

Kash is looking for an incredible forever family that enjoys a solid companion, an outdoor adventure, and a good game of fetch. If this stunning boy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet Kash today!

Schmidt, like so many dogs, found himself at a crowded shelter as just a baby. Underweight, dirty, full of worms, and malnourished, this little guy was scared and unsure. It was beyond evident that he needed help and fast. Fortunately, a local rescue was able to pull this handsome guy quickly and began getting him some of the critical care he needed to meet with success. With some much needed vetting started and some supportive care in place, the rescue began looking into breed specific resources that could help Schmidt find a safe and loving forever home that would understand and know how to work with a GSD. Shepherds are an intelligent, active, and loyal breed; however, it is understood in the rescue community that they are not for everyone. When asked if we could welcome Schmidt into the MAGSR family, our team immediately came together to provide him with a safe landing.

Schmidt is a special guy. He has had a rough start, but things are definitely looking up. Living with an incredible foster family, this little guy is soaking in all the love he can. Recognizing the importance of socialization, his foster family is giving him endless opportunities to socialize with new people and other animals. Socialization is critical as it will help Schmidt develop the skills needed to grow into a stable and confident adult. His forever family will need to continue this process. As a young guy, Schmidt is learning the ins and outs of living in a home. He enjoys playing with his foster siblings, puppy toys, and endless snuggles. Making great progress with housebreaking and crate training, Schmidt is a smart little guy. Although Schmidt is an absolute love, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and structure, we know that Schmidt is destined to become an incredible family member. If Schmidt sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today!

Jenny and her buddy, Forest, were lucky to have grown up in a loving home that had planned to love them for a lifetime. Forest joined the family as a baby and was immediately adored. Jenny joined a little later when another family in the area needed to rehome her. She was immediately adored. Like "peas and carrots" these two lived side by side in an incredible household. Unfortunately, things simply don't always work out the way we plan. When circumstances changed unexpectedly in their home, it became clear that it was in both dogs best interest that they be rehomed. This is never an easy decision; it is often one of the hardest choices a family must make. However, their family knew this was what was best for both dogs. When asked if we could help both dogs move forward with loving families that would last a lifetime, team MAGSR stepped forward.

Jenny is a beautiful, intelligent, and active girl. With some very GSD heavy traits, she can be more timid and hesitant with new people. As a result, it can take her a little time to adjust to her surroundings. However, when given a chance to decompress, Jenny is friendly, sweet, and an amazing companion. Once truly bonded with her people, Jenny is your typical GSD - a constant presence, loyal, and on point. Having had endless opportunities to learn about the joys of daily activities and toys, Jenny enjoys playtime and hopes her forever family has plenty of toys. A lucky lady, Jenny has had the opportunity to begin building her good canine citizenship skills and participate in training. This has helped Jenny enhance her leash manners, develop commands, and increase her confidence. Although Jenny is building a solid foundation, it is critical that Jenny continue training. Not only will training help Jenny build a healthy and lasting bond with her forever family, but it will also help her continue to solidify her good canine citizenship skills.

Having had the benefit of living in a loving household, Jenny is already housebroken and crate trained. She has developed a good understanding of many of the ins and outs of living in a home. However, it is critical that her forever family provide her with time, patience, structure, and routine. With leadership and clear expectations, Jenny will thrive. This lovely lady is looking for a forever family that will take her on daily adventures, provide her with plenty of toys, and shower her with love. DESCRIPTION:

Cashew found himself in a tough situation and was placed with a rescue in the south. He landed in a loving foster family where he settled in nicely with his foster mom. From time to time, her grandchildren would visit and Cashew was delighted by their presence. Although Cashew was doing well with his foster family, when a family emergency arose, he needed to find an alternative placement. Foster families are incredible, but they are not always as easy to find as we would hope. Without another foster available, once again Cashew found himself in a tough situation. Knowing that this guy needed another option, the rescue reached out to MAGSR to transfer Cashew into our care. We welcomed Cashew to the MAGSR family and did not look back.

Cashew is a big, intelligent guy. Very typical of the breed, he prefers slow introductions and clear expectations. He is most successful with a calm, confident, and experienced handler that will set him up for success. Initially more comfortable with women than men, Cashew is working with our volunteers to develop confidence and boundaries. Training will go a long way with this guy. Not only will training help Cashew develop the skills he needs to become a good canine citizen, but it will also help him build a strong, healthy, and lasting relationship with his forever family. As is true of all GSDs, Cashew is looking for a forever family that will provide him with structure, routine, and leadership. Allowing him time to decompress and adjust in his new home will help Cashew meet with success. Having lived in an incredible foster home, Cashew understands many of the ins and outs of living in a household. He is housebroken and crate trained. He has also developed a solid understanding of pack expectations and has done well with other dogs in the home. With some alpha tendencies, Cashew may be most successful with less dominant dogs. A big fan of daily activities both inside and outside of the household, Cashew has shown that he prefers to be close to his people. Ensuring that Cashew bonds in a healthy manner will be an important first step in his forever family. With time, patience, and training, Cashew will be an amazing companion.

Cashew is looking for a special family that will cherish him throughout his golden years. If this handsome guy sounds like a good match for your family, ask to meet him today!

DESCRIPTION:

Momma Starlight and her adorable babies - Niner, Babs, Peace, Benisa and Seven - were surrendered to an overcrowded shelter when the babies were just 6 weeks old. Although shelter staff do everything they can to keep families safe, raising puppies in a shelter is stressful for the entire family and often results in illness. Although this family was clearly very sweet, no one stepped forward to help them. As shelter numbers everywhere are at astronomical rates, Momma Starlight and her babies were at significant risk of being euthanized as owner surrenders are typically the first to cross. Days passed without interest and the family was placed on the list to be euthanized. The rescue community was doing everything they could to help, but with rescues at critical levels finding placement options was very challenging. Fortunately, an incredible rescue close to the shelter was able to secure temp fosters for the family hoping to work with other rescues to move them forward. When asked if MAGSR could be the family's rescue destination, our team sent out a plea for help. We were lucky to have fosters ready and willing to help. The uncertainty of their survival had finally ended as they made their way to the MAGSR family.

Momma Starlight has been through so many challenges over the last two months, but she remains very sweet. Clearly a good mom, Starlight has done an incredible job raising her babies. However, it is time for Starlight to soak in the love and attention of a forever family. Starlight has had the opportunity to adjust to life without the babies in an experienced foster family. She is taking some time to decompress and enjoy the safety and security of a loving household. Once comfortable, Starlight is affectionate and full of gentle kisses. She seems to know that life can only get better from now on. Still somewhat a puppy herself, Starlight can be goofy and playful. She loves to goof around outside then roll over for belly rubs. Living in a foster home with other dogs, Starlight has done well. She was also a very patient mom to the babies. Although in a foster home now, we do not know how much experience Starlight has had in a household. She is learning to crate train and is adjusting to the routines and expectations of the home. As Starlight moves forward, she will thrive with consistency, structure, and leadership. Training will also go a long way for Starlight. Not only will it help her create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.

Starlight is looking for an active family that will enjoy daily activities with her. She is also hoping that they are looking for a few extra snuggles at night. This gorgeous girl is ready for the perfect family to welcome her home. If Starlight sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

Socialization is critical to their success as this will help them develop into stable adult dogs. With some food drive and a big fan of praise, Babs has already begun developing some basic commands.

Attractive little Angel was picked up in a busy city and brought to a local shelter. Although she waited patiently for her family to come and claim her, no one stepped forward for this sweetheart. With shelters significantly over capacity, the moment her stray hold lifted, Angel was in danger. She was placed on the list to be euthanized. This was not what anyone wanted; however, with an endless flow of dogs entering the shelter daily, staff members were forced to make incredibly tough choices. Knowing that Angel would not survive without immediate help, the rescue community sent out a plea for help. Fortunately, MAGSR had a space for Angel and was able to welcome her to the family.

Angel is an absolute peach. She is sweet, social, and very intelligent. Typical of the breed, she has some good energy and is looking for a family that can keep up with this gorgeous girl. Angel will need someone to exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. With some ball drive, an eagerness to learn, and a responsive nature, Angel is picking up new skills quickly. She is hoping to find a family that has a good throwing arm and is ready with lots of toys. Super responsive to both food and praise, she will pick up new learning fast. Training will go a long way with this girl. Not only will training help her build a healthy relationship with her forever family, but it will also help Angel develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. In many ways Angel is still a puppy. Her endless puppy antics keep our volunteers smiling; however, these behaviors are not for everyone especially if left unchecked. With time, patience, structure, and leadership, we know Angel will be an amazing adult dog. Continued socialization will be key to her success. Angel will need endless opportunities to learn about new people, animals, and environments. This will help her hone her skills and develop a stable personality.

Angel is looking for an active forever family that will cherish her happy personality for a lifetime. If this lovely little girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

Momma Starlight and her adorable babies - Niner, Peace, Benisa and Seven - were surrendered to an overcrowded shelter when the babies were just 6 weeks old.

Benisa who we call "Isa" and her adorable siblings have been through a lot of changes in a short period of time. However, a resilient group, these babies have maintained some very typical puppy behaviors. They are active, intelligent, and very good with other animals. With a good understanding of toys, treats, and a soft place to relax, all four babies have been lucky to have settled in experienced foster families. Still developing their socialization skills, "Isa" and her siblings will need endless opportunities to socialize with people and other animals in safe and controlled settings. Socialization is critical to their success as this will help them develop into stable adult dogs. Although these babies are cute as can be, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and leadership we know that "Isa" and her siblings are destined for greatness. "Isa" is looking for a household that will provide her with a good balance of training, playtime, and cuddles. If this gorgeous little girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

Vibrant Valkyrie was sitting at an overcrowded animal shelter waiting for someone to come and claim her. Although she waited, no one stepped forward for this lovely lady. As shelters are simply unable to keep up with the number of animals in need, unclaimed animals often struggle to make it out alive. Valkyrie's time was running short. Fortunately, another group stepped forward and welcomed Valkyrie into their care. She was very lucky to find someone that would help her move forward as well as help address her medical needs. Valkyrie was heartworm positive upon her arrival with the other rescue. However, they ensured she had everything she needed and walked her through treatment. Having completed treatment months ago, but without adoption interest, MAGSR was asked to welcome Valkyrie into our care so that she might meet with better success with a breed specific rescue. Valkyrie had been waiting for over a year for this chance. When we learned she needed placement, we knew she would be a great match for the MAGSR family.

Valkyrie is an active, intelligent, and social girl. Having been well socialized with people somewhere along her journey, Valkyrie connects with people quickly. She loves a good hug and lean in. A huge fan of the outdoors, Valkyrie is greatly enjoying the fall weather and is happy to be out and about with her person. Although we do not know anything about Valkyrie's past, we do know that she has a bright future. As is true of all shepherds, Valkyrie will thrive when provided with structure, routine, and leadership. She is looking for a household that will provide her with clear expectations and boundaries as well as patience as she adjusts to her forever family. Training will go a long way with Valkyrie. Not only will this help her build a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Valkyrie has been waiting for a family of her very own for far too long. If this lovely girl sounds like a match for your family, ask to meet her today!

Precious Poseidon is one of the lucky dogs who has lived in an incredible household where he has been cherished. Although his family adored this big, handsome guy, when circumstances changed, his family began searching for rescue placement so that Poseidon could move forward safely with an amazing family that would love him. Surrendering a member of the family is never an easy decision. It is not a choice that any family comes to lightly; however, Poseidon's family knew that it was in his best interest to say goodbye. We promised that we would do everything we could to ensure that Poseidon found an incredible match.

Intelligent, social, and clearly a stunning guy, Poseidon (Psy) embodies many of your typical GSD traits. Curious about his environment while also very aware of his surroundings, Psy, like most shepherds, doesn't miss a beat. He is capable, engaging, and protective when he needs to be. An active guy, Psy greatly enjoys getting out and about on a daily basis. True of most shepherds, Psy does best when both his body and his mind are exercised on a daily basis. This helps him maintain stability. Having always lived in a pack, Psy is looking for a home that has another dog. He thrives in this environment and is not successful without canine companions. However, as is true of all new furry family members, Psy will need time to build solid and lasting relationships with his new pack members. Time, patience, training, and opportunities to meet with success will help him adjust to his forever family. Psy already knows many of the ins and outs of living in a household. He is housebroken and crate trained, but does prefer a stronger crate for safety. With routine, structure, and leadership, Psy thrives in the household. True of all new dogs, Psy will need to participate in training. Not only will training help Psy build a healthy and lasting bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. With a few commands already in place, this guy is ready to continue learning.

Poseidon is an amazing guy who is looking for an active family who will ensure he has plenty of toys, daily opportunities to exercise, and endless love. If Poseidon sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet this handsome guy today!

The Vampire Litter - Giles, Oz, and Willow - found themselves alone and in need of help. Without a mommy in sight, they were lucky to find a good Samaritan who made sure these delightful little babies made their way to the safety of a rescue. Under the care of an experienced puppy foster, the babies began getting everything they needed to meet with success. With full bellies, vaccines started, and plenty of socialization, these babies were thriving. Although their foster family adored these babies, it was clear that they would be most successful if placed within a breed specific rescue. When our team was contacted about Vampire litter, we knew that we could help them move forward safely. So, we immediately welcomed the babies to the family.

All three puppies are beyond adorable. They are playful, interactive, and filled with endless joy. Although their foster families are continuing to provide these babies with socialization with people and other animals, it is critical that their forever families continue this process. This will help all three pups develop into stable adult dogs. Willow and her siblings are cute as can be; however, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, training, and socialization, Willow will develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. If your family is looking for a delightful little lady full of snuggles, look no further than Willow!

Updates:

Wonderful Willow has been enjoying life living in a pack. She has adjusted to both the human and furry members of her household incredibly well and is adored by her foster family. A social and stable pup, Willow loves interacting with kids and adults in the neighborhood. She greets everyone with tail wags, playbows, and plenty of puppy smiles. This little lady sure does know how to bring joy to everyone around.

With routine and consistency, Willow is doing very well with housebreaking. She cues when she needs to go outside and takes care of her business quickly. Crate training has also gone very well. Willow keeps her crate dry throughout the night and even waits until her foster family is moving around in the morning before she cues to go outside. Such an impressive baby, Willow seems to pick up new expectations without difficulty. It helps that she loves treats, toys, and praise. An intelligent girl with a moderate level of energy, Willow is a nice combination of puppy energy and snuggles. She is always ready for the next adventure, but will need a good nap afterwards.

Willow is looking for a forever family that will maintain her confidence through continued socialization and training. This will help her develop the skills needed to develop into a good canine citizen. If your household is looking for a playful, intelligent, and adorable girl, look no further than Willow!

DESCRIPTION:

Beautiful Bailey was adored by her family. They knew she was a special girl and ensured that she had endless love, attention, and plenty of toys. However, when an unexpected event took place, they were unable to keep Bailey and provide her with the life they knew she deserved. Recognizing that we would provide Bailey with everything she needed to meet with success, her family made the heartbreaking decision to return her to the MAGSR. Knowing this was a very difficult decision, we promised we would find Bailey the perfect forever family.

Bailey is an active, intelligent, and playful girl. She loves her people fiercely and gives them every ounce of affection she has. With some very strong GSD traits, Bailey is loyal, protective, and on point. She tends to notice everything around her and keeps an eye on her people at all times.  As a girl with a high prey drive, smaller creatures can be a little too enticing for Bailey. She finds joy in chasing small creatures, such as rabbits and squirrels, and will need to be monitored closely if they are out and about with her. Fond of the outdoors, Bailey is always up for a long walk, hike, or adventure. She takes cues well from the handler and knows many commands. Lucky to have lived in a loving household for a few years, Bailey has developed a solid understanding of and appreciation for toys; she is hoping her forever family enjoys them too! She loves to play ball and can't help but enjoy a good squeaky toy. With a few years of experience living in a home, Bailey has also developed an affinity for a soft bed. She loves cuddling up on her dog bed and doesn't mind having a dog bed or two in the house just to change up viewpoints throughout the day. Although Bailey is crate trained and housebroken, once settled, she prefers to be out and about. This seems to keep her more settled throughout the day. As is true of all shepherds Bailey will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. Providing clear boundaries and expectations will help Bailey meet with success. Bailey has already completed some basic training; however, she is always up for more! Continued training is essential to Bailey's success. Not only will it help her develop her canine citizenship skills, but it will also help her develop a strong and healthy bond with her forever family.

If your family is looking for an active girl who will fill your days with doggy smiles, squeaky toys, and plenty of exercise, Bailey is your girl.

Updates:

I am a 5 yr old girl with a lot of spunk.  I get real excited when it's time to go out.  I like people, but I'm reactive to other dogs.  I am good with my commands, I am crate trained, I like laying at my human's feet in the evenings.  When my people leave, I get all upset, I seem to do better when left out of  my crate.  I have a good appetite and take treats gently, and I'm good on walks. I feel like Super Girl, can jump a 5 ft door at the kennel.  I like to play with stuffed toys, I'm not a big fan of balls.  I like to play in the pool at the kennel.  If I sound like the dog for you, I'm looking for my forever home.

Bailey, like most dogs, has her pros and cons with her personality. The good things about her - she's very friendly with people, and she bonds very closely to her people. She is very well trained.  In the evenings I bring her in from her final walk and make her sit, then I say "okay" and she runs for her doggy bed next to the couch where I sit to watch TV, and she lays there until it's time to go to bed. She is crate trained and does good in the crate except when you leave.  She loves to go for car rides, and loves her stuffed toys, especially ones with squeakers. She will play with balls that squeak sometimes, but she likes stuffed toys better.  She has some toys, a doggy bed, and a secure crate that go with her. Bailey is not a fan of thunderstorms, fireworks and small dogs. It seems if you have her next to you during storms, she does much better, and is not as skittish. She prefers to be the only dog in the house. You have to be on guard with her around open doors. She does have separation anxiety and would rather spend time with her humans. If Bailey sounds like the pup for you, she’s ready to go!
