History: Owner Surrender Mugs was found in northeastern Kabul, Afghanistan looking for food in a trash heap by American soldiers. The story told by locals was that he was brought to Afghanistan as a puppy to be a guard dog dog. When he was found on the roadside he only weighed 45 lbs. The soldier that brought Mugs back to the states does not have a home conducive to keeping Mugs. He loves toys, belly rubs, people, walks, adventures and would make a great companion.

Description
Mugs is currently in a short term foster so that he doesn’t have to sit in boarding waiting on another foster or forever home. His current foster is relocating to Korea on Friday. Mugs kept escaping his home's yard so he needs a home with a secure 6ft fence, lots of exercise and training. Mugs is 5-6 years old, good with people including children, but is picky about his pup friends. He does NOT like small dogs or cats as he has a very strong prey drive. He is crate trained. Mugs would flourish with an active family. He is 71 lbs, neutered, and even had a dental cleaning in February. Mugs is not crated during the work day when his foster is at work, he is not destructive but needs to be potty trained. He would likely benefit from a home where someone is home more often than not to help him with this.
