Charlie
ADOPTED 02/05/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Charlie is still very much a puppy and will require ongoing training to teach him good canine manners. He is a large, strong boy who can play with rough so it would be best that he not be in a home with small children. He is housebroken and crate train, it would be best that he is crated when his family is not home. Crating a young dog keeps them and your home safe. It keeps them from getting into things that they shouldn't and also provides safety and comfort. He has lived with another dog and got along well. Adopting a dog is a commitment for the lifetime of the dog, be sure that you have the time, patience and commitment it takes to add a dog to your family and life.
Blaze
ADOPTED 02/04/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Blaze was surrendered to MAGSR as his family could no longer care for him. Blaze was cared for and loved by his family, so he is understandably confused by his current situation. Blaze is in the comforts of a foster home, has a comfy bed and lots of love – he is being very well cared for while he waits for his new family. Blaze’s prior owners report he is house and crate trained, active and friendly, good with dogs, cats and kids. Please ask to meet Blaze if he sounds like a good fit for your family!
Dexter
ADOPTED 02/04/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Dexter was a stray to a shelter where his family never came looking for him. We received the plea to help this very sweet boy. He was heartworm positive and needed medical attention. Dexter has completed his heartworm treatment and is now ready to meet all those interested in giving him his forever home. He is such a sweet boy, very well mannered and loves to play with other dogs. Please consider Dexter for your family.
Updates:Dexter is an affectionate doggie who likes to play with other dogs and hangs with people. He enjoys meeting new friends on walks and does not seem to mind kids if they are gentle.
He is house and crate-trained (he prefers to sleep in bed with his people though). He is a little timid around vacuums and hairdryers but he is good in the house otherwise.
He is not destructive nor a barker. However, he does get mouthy like a puppy when he is excited! he will be a wonderful addition to any family that will provide him with structure, training and exercise.
Ginger
ADOPTED 02/04/2017!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 12
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Ginger was surrendered to us through no fault of her own. She was not abused or neglected. But unfortunately, her family did not have enough time for her. She's a very nice, confident, outgoing, beautiful girl who has a lot going for her! She's already had some obedience training, knows her basic commands in German and is crate trained. Her family reported that she was great with their young children and newborn child. She's an active and intelligent girl who loves to go for car rides and loves to play fetch with the ball. She would benefit from being in a home where she will have daily activity and exercise with a family that will commit to her for the rest of her life. We will provide further updates as we learn more about her.
Updates:Now that Ginger is in a foster home, we have had an opportunity to learn even more about her. She is getting along well with male and female shepherds that are even keeled, well balanced dogs who are just slightly older than her. However, she will not do well with dominant dogs or dogs who inappropriately invade her personal space. She would also do fine in a home as the only pet so that she receives 100% of all the attention. She responds very well to corrections and praise.
In our fenced yard, she is extremely obedient to her commands. She likes her crate and will go in on her own to relax. She rides great in a vehicle. She is a medium activity level girl and is what you would expect from a 5 year old. Overall, she is very eager to please.
Ginger was returned as she was not doing well with the 6 year old child in the adoptive home. She did do well with the 11 year old child.
She will require an experienced handler and someone who is committed to attending training classes with a qualified trainer.
Shadow
ADOPTED 02/04/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Shadow was adopted from our rescue when he was just a puppy in 2008. Sadly, his adopters decided they no longer wanted him. As you can imagine, Shadow’s world as he knew it has been turned upside down. He is currently in a loving foster home with his foster family helping him with the adjustment, but we’re sure he obviously does not understand what is going on or where his family is.
Shadow’s foster family reports he is an amazing dog, cute and complete love bug. They also report he is a wonderful fur-sibling to the resident dogs and is getting along great with them – he submits to them. Shadow has chased the resident cats a couple of times, but for the most part is very calm around them. Shadow’s fosters report he has been a wonderful and respectful house guest and knows some obedience training, and knows how to “speak” as well.
For a senior dog, Shadow gets around great and has a good amount of energy and could lose a few pounds. Shadow would love to once again have a family and home of his very own. Please do not let Shadow’s age deter you, as he has a lot of love to share.
Khalessi
ADOPTED 01/29/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Khalessi cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Khalessi was surrendered to MAGSR because her family could no longer care for her. Khalessi has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a 10-12 year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Khalessi will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. Please inquire if Khalessi sounds like a good match for your family.
Loli
ADOPTED 01/27/2017!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Loli had a rough start in life but luckily her guardian angel changed all of that. Loli was found in the Dominican Republic by a woman who was there with the Peace Corps. Loli was not in good shape, needing medical care and good nutrition. She was brought back to the USA so that she could find a family who will love and care for her for the rest of her life.
Loli gets along very well with other dogs of all sizes, she is quite submissive. She has lived with cats, she will chase but not aggressively, she just wants to play. She has never lived with children, but many children would visit her while she still in the DR. Loli still has some weight to gain and she is making progress. She was examined by a vet, given de-wormer and all of her vaccines. Loli does experience some diarrhea which is being worked on with a change in diet. Loli needs training, guidance and of course lots of love for her lifetime.
Sophie
ADOPTED 01/22/2017!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sophie was surrendered to a shelter as she was constantly roaming the streets. Sadly her family found it easier to dump her then to properly contain her. Her mother is an AKC registered purebred GSD and dad is anyone's guess. Sophie is a sweet friendly girl who enjoys the company of other dogs. Sophie deserves better, a family that will train her, take her for walks, provide both mental and physical exercise.
Updates:A few days after Sophie's arrival to MAGSR, her stomach looked distended, so we got her to the vet and found out that she was very pregnant and is due a litter of puppies in a couple of weeks. So, Sophie's foster angel came and swept her away to give her a warm bed and home to deliver and care for her puppies. Sophie is a sweet, affectionate and easy girl. Her foster mom reports that it doesn't get any cuter than this little girl. Please check back on Sophie's status and her pups.
Beautiful Sophie has had a busy fall and early winter. On Nov. 2nd she gave birth to seven healthy puppies. We were very proud of Sophie who proved to be a good mommy to all of her babies. It took a few weeks but Sophie's personality began to shine as she was able to get a few breaks from motherhood. Sophie loves any and all toys. She throws them in the air, chases after them, and generally entertains everyone around. As an inquisitive girl, Sophie will try most things particularly, once she trusts her handler. A food motivated girl, Sophie loves any and all dog treats and will immediately sit or go into a down when treats are involved. Living with a pack of foster siblings, Sophie has socialized very well with everyone in the pack. She definitely has the energy of a teenage dog but has quickly learned the ins and outs of pack life. At this point Sophie is housebroken and crate trained. She loves attention and often just wants to snuggle with her people. As Sophie's pups are now old enough to find their own homes, Sophie is hoping to find her forever home as well. If this fun-loving girl sounds like a good match for your household, please inquire about her today.
We have discovered that Sophie is good with kids but she is a bit of a jumper. So, a home with older kids only would be best for now.

Addie is a gorgeous, friendly girl looking for to start her life anew. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys spending time with our volunteers. She seems to be more of a laid back girl. Addie, would like nothing more than to be in a home loved by a family, of course in return she will devote herself to you. Please ask to meet Addie.
