Bailey
ADOPTED 12/23/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Bailey along with her brother Baxter found themselves at a shelter after they kept escaping an electric/invisible fence and chasing the cattle. Hmmm, imagine that they are herding dogs after all. They are obviously smart and knew what they were born to do. They are very bonded so we are hoping that a family will have enough room and love to adopt them together. They did well with children they met, but would prefer not to share their home or people with cats. They are a very sweet pair.

Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Valeska is a beautiful German Shepherd/Husky mix, lovingly known as a Shusky. She came to us from a shelter so we do not know anything about her past. We do know that she is sweet and friendly. She is now enjoying the comforts of a foster home. Please watch for updates as her foster family learns more about her.

Kylie is a beautiful, very high-energy girl. Kylie can be mouthy when playing and will need some training, but she is precious and has a ton of potential. Kylie is no couch potato and will require daily physical and mental exercise to keep her energy in check. Her ball is her favorite thing, up for hours of fetch? Kylie is. If you feel you can commit to Kylie and give her the training she needs, and feel she may be a good fit in your family, please ask to meet her.
Duke
ADOPTED 12/18/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Duke having only ever been seen by a vet once, for hair loss and treatment was not followed, was brought back a year later to the same vet. His person brought him in, told the staff to euthanize him and walked out. Duke is such sweet soul that the vet decided to reach out to rescue, knowing that with medical care, some TLC, good nutrition and a loving family Duke deserved more than to be euthanized.
He is currently in medical boarding with our vet having a complete work up, tests and receiving meds to bring him some relieve. Once feeling better he will have his vaccines.
Duke has hair loss, sores on his skin, scabs and both ears infected from years of neglect. It is believed to be caused by allergies. Even in his current painful condition he is as sweet as can be.
Donations to his medical care are greatly needed and very much appreciated.
Tallie
ADOPTED 12/18/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Tallie is a beautiful, happy and friendly young girl at 9 months old. She made her way to us from a shelter excited to begin the search for a forever family.
Tallie has a lot to learn to become a well mannered, good canine citizen. Training of course will help Tallie learn and will also help create a bond with her family.
She will require her new family to have patience and time as she learns about her new life and family.
Updates:Tallie is settling very nicely in her new foster home. Tallie's foster reports that Tallie is absolutely the sweetest animal on the planet and delights in everything that she discovers. Tallie loves children and seems to be perpetually happy and energetic. As every puppy should, Tallie is learning what she is allowed and not allowed to chew on, and a few special toys just for her is helping with that - she is very easy to redirect when taking something away from her. Tallie is very smart and she has started to go to the toy bin and get a toy when she wants to chew. Tallie loves other dogs and happily approaches strangers. Tallie has been a hit in the home and neighborhood. Ask to meet Tallie.
Tallie is such a good girl!
Kailey

Kailey made her way to us from a shelter where her time was running out. She is approximately 1 year old, friendly and full of life. She is looking for a forever family who will help learn all that she needs to know to be a well mannered family member. Training of course will help this, along with creating a lifelong bond. Ask to meet sweet Kailey.
Raven

Ginger
ADOPTED 12/17/2016!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 12
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Ginger was surrendered to us through no fault of her own. She was not abused or neglected. But unfortunately, her family did not have enough time for her. She's a very nice, confident, outgoing, beautiful girl who has a lot going for her! She's already had some obedience training, knows her basic commands in German and is crate trained. Her family reported that she was great with their young children and newborn child. She's an active and intelligent girl who loves to go for car rides and loves to play fetch with the ball. She would benefit from being in a home where she will have daily activity and exercise with a family that will commit to her for the rest of her life. We will provide further updates as we learn more about her.
Updates:Now that Ginger is in a foster home, we have had an opportunity to learn even more about her. She is getting along well with male and female shepherds that are even keeled, well balanced dogs who are just slightly older than her. However, she will not do well with dominant dogs or dogs who inappropriately invade her personal space. She would also do fine in a home as the only pet so that she receives 100% of all the attention. She responds very well to corrections and praise.
In our fenced yard, she is extremely obedient to her commands. She likes her crate and will go in on her own to relax. She rides great in a vehicle. She is a medium activity level girl and is what you would expect from a 5 year old. Overall, she is very eager to please.
Ginger was returned as she was not doing well with the 6 year old child in the adoptive home. She did do well with the 11 year old child.
She will require an experienced handler and someone who is committed to attending training classes with a qualified trainer.
Durango
ADOPTED 12/16/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Durango came to us from a shelter where he sat as stray hoping his family would come looking for him. Durango would benefit from training, which will not only help with his manners but also create a bond with his new family. If you are interested meeting this handsome boy please let our adoptions coordinators know.
Updates:I am a lonely dog who just wants companionship and love. I am currently learning my crate manners, I still do not like it but its getting better! If I am separated from people I get anxious but my foster is building my confidence up so I can be both social and independent. I really like toys and if you actively play with me I'll focus only on you. I know my home now is temporary, but I'd really like Furever home, will you be my adopters?!
Sally
ADOPTED 12/14/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sally was a stray and ended up in a shelter. She is an adorable Shepherd mix that would enjoy a forever family of her very own. She did well during her cat and dog test. We believe she should do well with children, but she has not met any while in our care. Training to teach her manners is of course needed as it is with all of our dogs. Training also helps to create a bond with her new family.
Boone
ADOPTED 12/13/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Boone cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little boy, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Boone has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a ten to twelve year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Boone will become even more of an amazing boy than he already is. Please inquire if Boone sounds like a good match for your family.
Duchess
ADOPTED 12/11/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
We have no idea how this sweet girl ended up in a shelter with no one looking for her. She is an absolute doll. She is understandably a little unsure with all of the changes in her life, but once in a foster home she is feeling safe. Belly rubs are favorite, you can never give too many. Duchess is hoping to find a family that will love and commit to her for her lifetime.
Updates:Duchess has settled in very nicely in her foster home with an alpha male GSD and another female GSD. Duchess is a complete cuddle doll. Her fosters report that Duchess is a perfect house guest and pretty good on a leash. Duchess is submissive and plays with the alpha male and they love it. Duchess is great with kids of all ages. Her foster says she's the sweetest foster they've ever had. While in the foster home, Duchess did Ok with the cats, but liked to chase them, however, she responded pretty well to correction. Don't miss out on meeting Duchess!
Pepper
ADOPTED 12/10/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Pepper made her way to us from a shelter. We received the plea to help this very sweet girl as she was heartworm positive and needed medical attention. Pepper has completed her heartworm treatment and is now ready to meet all those interested in giving her a forever home. She is a sweet girl, very well mannered and loves to play with other dogs. Please consider Pepper for your family.
George
ADOPTED 12/10/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
George lived on a farm with livestock which was not the life for George. He lived with other dogs and indoor cats but George was too focused on the livestock, going after them any chance he had. George is a friendly big boy with those he meets, he enjoys swimming and going for walks. He often frequented his local home improvement store with his family. He does get excited when meeting new dogs, a slow proper introduction is needed. George is now looking for a home that he does not have to share with livestock, they are just too tempting for him.
Updates: Oscar
ADOPTED 12/10/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Oscar is the litter mate to Sargeant. He was purchased from the breeder when he was 8 weeks old. His former person has kept outside 24/7. He is a friendly boy, but is lacking in manners as he has had no guidance from his humans. Thankfully we were able to rescue Oscar from living outside with no human interaction. Oscar will need a family who has the patience to deal with a 1 year old puppy who is a blank slate. He will require a commitment from his family to take him to training and guide him to be the best he can be. He has so much to learn, but with the smarts of a GSD he should catch on in no time.
Jasper
ADOPTED 12/09/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Jasper, along with his brothers, Herb and Malakai, were farm dogs, living outside free to roam where ever they wanted to. Often times they ate trash and anything else they could find.
Shiloh
ADOPTED 12/04/2016!
Good With Kids: No
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Shiloh was returned to us as his family is going through life altering changes and can no longer provide for him as needed. However, he was very much loved by them and he was very attached to them. Upon Shiloh's return, he showed signs of being reactive to strangers and protective of his family. He was also reactive to other dogs. However, he was very friendly, comfortable with and trusting of his family and their bond was evident. He is currently with a reputable trainer so that he can become better socialized and we will provide further updates as we get them from the trainer.
Gunnar
ADOPTED 12/04/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Meet the very handsome Gunnar. Sadly Gunnar's family who love him dearly had to surrender him to us, not a decision they made lightly. Gunnar has been part of their family for 3 years, was a big part in their 3 young children's lives and a buddy to their older 3 legged male GSD.
Unexpectedly one day Gunnar decided to challenge the older GSD for the alpha position, which did not go over well. The family was faced with the difficult decision of how they were going to keep both boys safe. Having the dogs live separately in the same home, they were not able to provide enough quality time for them both. The very hard decision was made to rehome Gunnar.
As you can imagine Gunnar is somewhat confused at this time. He obviously is unsure of his new surroundings and the new people caring for him. It takes a little time for him to relax with new people, but once he feels safe he happily joins our volunteers for walks and some loving. He is very typical of the breed in that he wants to protect his family and home from strangers. Given proper introductions and some tasty treats he quickly welcomes people into his space. Gunnar is going to need patience as he adjusts to his new life. Training with Gunnar will help this along as well as create a nice bond with his new family.
Updates:Gunnar is settling in nicely in his foster home with his fur-sibling and several young children. He is absolutely wonderful with the children and just wants to be loved. Gunnar also met a cat during his Thanksgiving travels and was good with the cat inside, but decided he wanted to chase the cat outside, so adopters should be aware of his interest to chase while outside. If Gunnar sounds like he would be a good fit for your family, please ask to meet him.
