The Perfect Storm

Just like the weather can change in an instant – calm one moment and a storm the next – that’s exactly how rescue is, unpredictable, urgent, and often arriving when it’s least expected but most needed. 

One after another, dogs in critical condition have come through our doors needing immediate, intensive, and costly medical care. 

The combined projection could exceed $35,000, and every single one requires immediate intervention.

Four dogs, four stories. And we’re not giving up. 

Hope
Many of you already know sweet Hope and are following her story. Hope was found after being hit by a car, with her leg shattered and an open wound exposing bone.  After her first surgery, she now faces potentially two more surgeries, and weekly sedated bandage changes.

Everest
This brave girl fought through heartworm only to be diagnosed with crippling hip dysplasia, now needing a left hip replacement with a potential with needing the right hip replaced too.

Big Boy|
Also bravely surviving heartworm treatment, but his hip dysplasia is so advanced he isn’t a candidate for surgery. His only relief comes from costly injections that last between 1-2 years, and will likely need to be repeated. 

Zeus Orion
Zeus Orion was rescued at the right time, and arrived at MAGSR in immense pain, and every day reveals just how much this poor guy has endured. He arrived urgently needing an ultrasound of his intestines, along with immediate pain management for his internal suffering and a broken tail. 

Rescue doesn’t wait for the “right time.” It doesn’t space things out. It doesn’t ask what we can afford. It just happens—and we say yes. But we can’t weather this storm alone.
