Adopted MAGSR Dogs

Jonah had a home with kids, cats, and another dog until the older male dog decided he no longer wanted Jonah around. Out of the need to keep Jonah safe, his family put him outside and tethered him there. Recognizing that Jonah deserved more, they made the decision to surrender him to another rescue who worked with us to bring Jonah to MAGSR. 

Jonah is a friendly and playful guy. He loves attention and affection. As a young dog, Jonah gets excited about walks and can be jumpy while getting ready to go. However, once ready, he walks well on leash particularly when in a quieter setting. A little too interested in squirrels and bunnies, Jonah will need to learn to leave these little creatures alone when in the yard or out and about. Training will go a long way to help this handsome guy learn the ins and outs of being a good canine citizen. Hunter, along with his siblings, Allie and Kate, was surrendered to MAGSR as their family could no longer provide for them. This was a very hard decision, but Hunter's family knew that MAGSR would find him and his siblings safe and loving forever homes. 

Hunter is a loving guy. He has lived with kids and other dogs. Although Hunter was clearly well loved by his family, he is a little confused by all the changes in his life and needs a little time to adjust. When given that chance, Hunter warms up and quickly becomes a playful puppy. Hunter is looking for a family that will commit to him for a lifetime. Could that be you?

Raina was given to her family by a friend who felt she would be a good match for their household. Although she was clearly loved by her family, Raina struggled in a city environment. As a result, her family made the difficult decision to surrender Raina to MAGSR so that she could find the family and living environment that would help her develop into the incredible girl they knew she could be. Raina is a friendly but driven girl. As is typical of most shepherds, Raina is intelligent, active, and alert. In order to meet with success, Raina will need both her body and mind exercised daily. She is not a couch potato and will do best with an active family. Although Raina is working on her interactions with other dogs, she would prefer a family where she can be the only dog so that she can be the center of attention. Raina is housebroken and crate trained. She also knows a few commands. However, as is true of all shepherds, Raina will need to attend training in order to develop into the amazing shepherd we know she is destined to be. Training will not only help Raina develop into an amazing dog, but it will also help her bond with her new family. Remington found himself dumped in a shelter along with another family dog when the two, at the time unneutered dogs, got into a skirmish. Although surprised and a little unsure about this sudden change in circumstances, Remington won over the shelter staff with his friendly and social personality. A big fan of the lean-in, Remington loves attention and gives kisses in return. As a new member of the MAGSR family, we are still getting to know Remington. However, from what we have seen so far, this affectionate guy is simply looking for a forever home that will provide him with the love and leadership that all dogs require. Mazie and Sadie were well-loved members of their family. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of their control, the girls' family needed to find them a new home. MAGSR was honored to step-up and provide Mazie and Sadie with a safe haven while we looked for the perfect forever for these girls. 

Mazie is a special girl. Her family welcomed her home after a breeder considered putting her down after being born with a congenital defect. Although Mazie required a little extra time and support, she was welcomed home to a family that taught her how to walk, play, and interact just like any other dog. Mazie is a little confused by all of the changes in her life. As a result, she needs a little extra time to warm up to new people. However, when provided with leadership and guidance, Mazie warms up to new people and leans in for affection.

Once upon a time, our lovely Shadow had a home and a family. However, her family decided they didn't want to care for her anymore and dumped her in a high kill shelter in the south. When no one came to adopt Shadow, MAGSR stepped in to help her find a family that would commit to her for a lifetime.

Shadow is gorgeous and affectionate. She seems to enjoy the company of her canine and human friends. It is clear that she has been well socialized and is very responsive to the handler. Unfortunately, Shadow has tested heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if she had been kept on monthly heartworm preventatives. Shadow is in the beginning stages of her heartworm treatment; however, the cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but Shadow is certainly worth the cost. Please donate toward her treatment, your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Shadow will need to take it slow over the next few months, she will be back to full strength once her treatment is finished.

Pumpkin is one of the Momma Bear's sweet puppies. This lovely family found themselves at a shelter where no one came to claim them. Along with his mother and siblings, Ash, Autumn, and Scarlet, Pumpkin made the long journey to MAGSR with the help of some good Samaritans and a fantastic transport crew.

As is typical of all puppies, Pumpkin is cute, fun-loving, and playful. He brings wiggles and smiles wherever he goes. Although Pumpkin is adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Pumpkin will develop into the good canine citizen he is destined to become. Sweet Winnie was picked up as a stray by animal control and brought to a shelter where she waited for someone to claim her. When no one came, an animal control officer contacted MAGSR to see if we could help this lovely lady find a home that would provide her with the love, attention, and safety that she so clearly deserves.

Winnie is a beautiful girl who could use a little extra care. Underweight and clearly used for breeding, it is evident that Winnie has endured some hardship. However, she is ready to move forward with a family who will love her and provide her with the guidance and leadership that all shepherds crave. Winnie will do best with a household that will go slow and allow her to build confidence. As is true of all dogs, Winnie will also benefit from training as it will help her bond with her new family, as well as, become a good canine citizen. Requi and her sister, Gemma, lived with a family who got tired of having dogs so they left them outside leaving the dogs with limited resources. As if this wasn't hard enough, the family then decided to move away and abandoned the girls along with two other dogs on the property. Another rescue group heard about these traumatized pups and decided to try and intervene. That's when MAGSR got a call. As MAGSR has a policy of never leaving families behind, we brought all 4 dogs to safety. Fortunately, MAGSR was able to work with other rescues to find safe homes for the two additional dogs on the property.

Requi is a sweet, young girl. She has been incredibly friendly with volunteers even though she has suffered so much in her short life. We have been impressed with her gentle nature and friendly disposition. Unfortunately, Requi has tested heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if her previous family had kept her on monthly heartworm preventatives. Lovely Valentina found her way into a crowded shelter with significant puncture wounds to her neck and a fractured back leg. Based upon the size and type of wounds on her neck, it is thought that Valentines wounds were inflicted by another dog. When MAGSR got a call from another rescue asking if we could help this spirited little girl, we jumped into action. 

Valentina is seeing a combination of vets and orthopedic specialists to make sure that she gets the care she so clearly deserves. It is reported that even with all the pain she is in, Valentina is a sweetheart and brings everyone around her joy. Valentina already has a big personality that will keep her new family busy. Casen's family was not able to properly care for him. As a result, they contacted an organization in the south for help. Fortunately, this group of wonderful volunteers contacted MAGSR and the rest is history.

Casen is a young, handsome, and friendly guy. He has easily won over the hearts and minds of our volunteers. Casen has come a long way to MAGSR in order to find the perfect forever home. He will benefit from some good nutrition, as Casen is significantly underweight at this time. In addition, Casen is looking for a household that will provide him with the structure, guidance and love that all young shepherds need to become good canine citizens. Sophie and her housemate Bonnie were surrendered to a local shelter when the neighbors started complaining. Although both girls lived in the same household, they are not bonded. 

Sophie is a sweet and affectionate dog. She enjoys the company of her people and wants to be with them. Social and interactive, Sophie is looking for a family that will give her the care and attention this lovely lady deserves. Although Sophie enjoys companionship, she can entertain herself. Sophie loves to play with a play and can toss it without help. Sophie has lived in a household with kids and dogs. A good samaritan found Noah as a stray and brought him to animal control. Unfortunately, no one came looking for Noah. With a stroke of luck another rescue found Noah and helped him find his way to MAGSR. We are so excited to have welcomed this boy into the MAGSR family. 

Noah is a young, energetic guy. He can be nervous when placed in new situations and needs a little time to adjust. When given patience and structure, Noah warms up and enjoys being loved-on by his human companions. Noah enjoys the company of other dogs and absolutely loves to play. Claude's previous owners decided that they no longer wanted a dog in the house so they put him outside. Unfortunately, some of the neighbors were not happy about having a dog living outside in the neighborhood, as a result, they threatened to shoot Claude. Luckily, a good samaritan heard about Claude and raced to get him out of this situation before it was too late. 

When asked if we could help Claude find a forever home that would provide the love and safety he deserved, MAGSR stepped up. Everyone that meets Claude seems to fall in love with his friendly mannerisms. He is housebroken and is working on crate training. Living with both a cat and an energetic dog, Claude has been introduced to the resident cat and showed interest but nothing concerning. He loves playing with his foster brother. The two of them have quickly become buddies. Claude will thrive in a home where he is able to benefit from attention, good exercise, and of course a lot of cuddles.
