Django
ADOPTED 12/10/2023!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Dapper Django found himself at an overcrowded shelter in the south. With the number of homeless pets climbing at alarming rates, shelters are finding that they have no choice but to euthanize for space. Although young and interactive, Django was living on borrowed time. As the days passed, staff members began to worry that he would not make it out alive. Recognizing that this guy deserved a chance to live a life full of tasty treats, adventures, and endless snuggles, a plea went out for rescue placement. Django was simply too sweet to deny. So, our incredible team began collaborating with the shelter, transporters, and vets to get everything in place to move Django forward. We are so excited to have welcomed him to MAGSR.
Django is a handsome, energetic, and social guy. He loves interacting with his people and other dogs. It is highly evident that this boy was well socialized. As he moves forward, it is critical that his forever family continue this process as Django will need continued experiences to meet with success. In many ways this guy is still puppy-like; he is goofy, playful, and always ready for a new experience. Django has asked that his forever family enjoy adventures and a good laugh. We promised him we would find the perfect match. In addition, we promised that his forever family provides him with the structure, routine, and leadership that will help him thrive. Training will be a key component to Django's success. Not only will it help him create a healthy bond with his family, but it will also help him develop into a stable and confident canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we do know much about Django's previous life. As a result, we are unsure about his knowledge of the ins and outs of living in a household. However, this boy is eager for his next adventure, we are sure that the structure and routine of his forever home will help him with this next step. If your family is looking for a young, playful, and social guy that will bring endless smiles to your household, ask to meet Django today!
Cider
ADOPTED 12/07/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
The Fall puppies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato (Tator) - were an accidental litter. Raised together with their parents, these dogs have had the chance to learn many doggy social skills. Although their human family enjoyed the puppies, it can be difficult to care for a large litter and challenging to find safe and loving homes. Recognizing that the Fall puppies would be most successful if placed within a breed specific rescue, their family contacted MAGSR. We promised that we would find each pup a safe and loving forever family that would cherish these babies for a lifetime.
The Fall puppies are very large babies for their age. They are clearly big fans of food. Having spent time outside, these babies love the sights, sounds, and smells of the outdoors. So, they are hoping their forever families love adventures. Although these babies have been socialized well with their doggy family, they have not been exposed to many new people or situations. Socialization is critical to their success. Recognizing that social skills are essential as the Fall puppies move forward, our amazing volunteers are already beginning this process. Learning the ins and outs of living in a household, these babies are learning the joys of endless toys, comfortable beds, and loads of love. As they continue to move forward, all six babies will strive in households that will provide the structure, routine, and leadership that all shepherds crave.
Although these babies are absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless antics. With time, training, and patience, all 6 babies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato - will develop into good canine citizens. If one of the Fall puppies sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet these fluffy bundles of joy today!
Ralph
ADOPTED 12/01/2023!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Ralph was adored by his family. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they needed to surrender him back to MAGSR. Although this was a heartbreaking decision, they knew that it was in Ralph's best interest to return him. We promised Ralph's family that we would find him the perfect family that would love him for a lifetime.
Ralph is an intelligent and curious boy. He enjoys exploring the world around him and is often busy making sure he doesn't miss out on anything in his environment. He has an excellent nose, particularly when it comes to treats. Really, who doesn't love treats? Having lived in a loving home, Ralph understands many of the ins and outs of the household. He is housebroken and is respectful in the home. However, as is true of all new family members, he will need time, patience, and structure when adjusting to his forever family. A playful guy, Ralph loves romping around and playing with a favorite plush stuffy. When everyone settles down in the house, Ralph loves to snuggle with his people. He is looking for a forever family that will provide him with structure, routine, and leadership. Although Ralph already knows a few basic commands, training will go a long way with Ralph. Additional training will not only help him create a strong, healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him become a good canine citizen. Ralph is looking for a forever family that loves playtime and snuggle time. If he sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Updates:Ralph has been adjusting very well to his foster home. He has proven to get along well with our other dogs and especially likes playing with Macy. He responds favorably to basic commands and is eager to please. We're also happy to say he's lost a bit of excess weight since we've had him.
He doesn't, however, like anyone grabbing at his collar--unless of course, he knows he's about to be taken for a walk. He has liked to pull on the leash but he's gradually getting better at staying by our side when we take him to the park.
He absolutely loves attention and we believe he would be perfect for a retired individual or couple. He'd also fare very well in an empty nest household or even one with older (15+) kids. If you fit the bill, please ask about meeting him as a possible addition to your family and fur-ever home!
Deacon
ADOPTED 11/19/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
'Dashing Deacon’ was found prancing along the streets as a stray. This devilishly handsome (possible SuperModel status) fella is under a year old, happy-go-lucky stunner who happens to be a long-haired black and red GSD looking for his ‘fur-ever’ family. As we get to know ‘Dashing Deacon’, we do know he is good with other dogs, absolutely full of life, happy to meet people, but he’s unaware of his size and surroundings, which could be overwhelming. Aside from his sweet personality, we’re learning if he is good with kids and cats. Because he’s considered a puppy, he will need to have training in order to learn and fully understand boundaries, proper behavior and will need the basic necessities of a growing puppy provided - training, structure, boundaries, routines, and continued guidance.
If ‘Dashing Deacon’ sounds like the wonderful moments you would like to emBARK upon, please ask to add him to your family today!
Tink
ADOPTED 11/17/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
The Fairy Sisters - Fern, Merriweather, and Tink - were part of a surprise litter. Although most of their littermates found loving homes, these lovely little ladies were not as lucky. Recognizing that puppies are adorable, but a lot of work, their family decided to surrender them to a shelter. However, this proved to be a dangerous option for these babies. With shelters significantly overcapacity, owner surrenders are often immediately euthanized. In an attempt to save the lives of all three pups, the shelter contacted MAGSR to redirect the Fairy Sisters into our care. Fortunately, our team was able to find incredible foster homes for all three girls. We promised we would find the Fairy Sisters families that would love and cherish them for a lifetime.
Having moved into loving foster families, all three girls are learning the ins and outs of living in a household. Clearly socialized, Tink joyfully approaches new people, happily accepts food and treats, and loves a good snuggle. Continued opportunities to socialize with new people and new situations will be critical to Tink's success as she develops into a confident and stable adult. Playful and happy to try new things, the girls are beginning some basic training but they also have plenty of opportunities to play. Recognizing that toys should be a vital part of every household, the Fairy Sisters love toys and are hoping their forever families do too. As these girls continue to move forward, they will benefit from continued work and patience with basic commands and leash manners. With so many new expectations, each of the Fairy Sisters will need time to learn the rules, expectations, and routines of their new homes.
Although these girls are beyond lovely, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, Tink and her sisters will develop into good canine citizens. If you are looking for a new family member that loves adventures, playtime, and endless cuddles, ask to meet Tink today!
Opal
ADOPTED 11/09/2023!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Opal was picked up as a stray in the south and brought to a shelter. Although she waited patiently for her family, no one came to claim Opal. As shelters everywhere are facing overwhelming overcrowding conditions with no end in sight, Opal was living on borrowed time. Recognizing that Opal was special and deserved every opportunity to meet with success, shelter staff sent out a desperate plea for help. When MAGSR heard about Opal's need, we stepped in and welcomed her to the family.
Opal is a friendly and affectionate girl. She loves her people and has also done well with other dogs. As a five year old shepherd, Opal's personality is stable and confident. She was clearly well loved by someone at some point along her journey. Now that she is in the MAGSR family, we have promised Opal that she will be loved and cherished for the rest of her life. Opal is looking for a forever family that will provide her with structure, routine, and leadership. This will help her as she adjusts to her forever family. It will also create a predictable environment that will help her succeed. Opal has been very fortunate to have landed in a foster family that is providing her with the training needed to meet with success. Learning new commands and expectations, Opal is quickly developing the skills and mindset needed to move forward positively. Although Opal has been fortunate to have already begun her training program, it is critical that her forever family continue this process. Training is key when creating a strong and healthy bond with a forever family; it is also an essential piece of the good citizenship puzzle. Opal is looking for a family that will provide her with adventures, enrichment, and plenty of snuggles. If this amazing girl sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Peanut
ADOPTED 11/05/2023!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
The Kentucky Six - Diego, Champ, Serena, Peanut, Evie, and Yogi - are cruelty and neglect survivors. Living in inhumane conditions, starved, and used as breeding stock, the Kentucky Six managed to make it off the property alive when the right people heard about their conditions and got the authorities involved. All six dogs were confiscated and brought to a shelter where they waited for the chance to find kind and loving families of their very own. Although shelter staff worked hard to make sure that all six dogs began getting the care and attention they deserved, they recognized that with shelters at capacity and adoptions limited, these six precious souls may not have the chance to find their forever families. They began working with local groups and started networking the dogs in hopes that rescue placement would be found. Fortunately, their message made its way to MAGSR. Our incredible team knew that this group of dogs was very special, so we began putting plans in place to welcome the Kentucky Six to the MAGSR family.
Although Peanut's life was filled with endless challenges and suffering prior to her confiscation, she remains loving and affectionate. With a gentle demeanor and sweet personality, she easily wins over everyone who meets her. Really, who could say no to those lovely eyes? Although she has endured a lot of suffering throughout the years, Peanut's demeanor remains stable and lovable. Sometimes we are simply astonished by the resilience of dogs that have been through so much trauma but are still friendly and interactive. As is true of all shepherds, Peanut will thrive when provided with structure, routine, and leadership. In many ways she is still in the beginning stages of her new life. She will need time to adjust to new people, environments, and expectations. However, given patience and opportunities to learn, we are sure that Peanut will continue to discover the joys of being a beloved member of a family. We do not know if Peanut has had much experience living in a household. Clear rules and boundaries will help her settle into her new home. Training will also go a long way for this lovely lady. Not only will training help Peanut develop a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have learned that all of the Kentucky Six are heartworm positive. This could have easily been avoided with a monthly heartworm preventative. Peanut is just beginning treatment. However, she is already handling her protocol like a pro. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, MAGSR will cover the entire cost of Peanut's medical treatment. Please consider donating to Peanut's care as it will not only help Peanut continue to move forward, but it will also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs. Peanut is looking for a forever family that will cherish her for a lifetime. If this amazing lady sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!

King & Duchess
ADOPTED 11/04/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
King and Duchess were adored by their mom. She did everything for them including making the decision to surrender them to rescue when she knew she couldn't continue to care for them. Recognizing that this decision and final goodbye was beyond heartbreaking, we promised to keep this pair together. King and Duchess have settled into one of our experienced senior foster homes and are getting all of the love and care they need to continue to move forward.
These dogs definitely have a special bond. King is the lover, he leans in for attention and has no problem being pet for hours on end. Although definitely a cuddler, King also enjoys playing ball and squeaking toys. He notices when anything is close to the house and alerts like all good shepherds do. Duchess is the life of the party. She is active, inquisitive, and always on point. She also enjoys some good head scratches but only for short periods of time before she is off on another exploration. Together they compliment each other very nicely. Although socialized with other large dogs, Duchess and King do best when given some time to adjust to other big dogs. Once comfortable, they like to be with the pack. Although they have had some exposure to small dogs and smaller animals, these two have too much prey drive for smaller creatures and would be happiest in a home without little furry friends. Comfortable with people, Duchess and King like making new friends; however, Duchess can take some time to warm up particularly to men. Given time and patience, they are loyal and beyond loveable companions.
As happens when we age, Duchess and King are experiencing some medical issues primarily associated with the aging process. They are both arthritic. However, with joint supplements, anti-inflammatories, and monthly osteoarthritis injections, King and Duchess are comfortable and happy to participate in daily activities. They are enjoying some extra attention from our vetting team as we get their systems adjusted to some routine care and address some physical and dental needs. As is expected, senior care can be a bit more expensive. Please consider donating to this special pair as we continue to provide them with the support they need to enjoy every day to the fullest. Duchess and King are looking for a forever home that will provide them with endless snuggles, plenty of toys, and a lifetime of love. If they sound like the right match for your household, ask to meet them today.

Updates:Autumn is an intelligent and spunky girl. With a goofy and silly side, Autumn keeps her foster family entertained for hours. She has clearly learned the joy of toys and is happy to play for hours. True of many of our more alpha-minded dogs, Autumn can be intense and have a lot of GSD energy. As a strong female, she is going to push boundaries and see what she can get away with. Autumn is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the structure, routine, and leadership that all GSDs need to thrive. It is important that she exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. As Autumn is driven and eager to please, she is the perfect candidate for training. Fortunately, Autumn's foster family has already started this process. Not a surprise, Autumn is a star student. As Autumn moves forward, continued training will be needed. Additional training will not only help Autumn create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Autumn is looking for an active family that will provide her with adventures during the day and a good cuddle at night. Ranger
ADOPTED 10/28/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Playful little Ranger was picked up as a stray in the south. He was brought to a local shelter where he waited for his family to come and claim him. Although he waited patiently, no one stepped forward for this handsome guy. Recognizing that he would need a hero to make it out of overcrowding conditions alive, a local group began sending out pleas for rescue help. When team MAGSR heard that Ranger needed a hero to step forward, our team began putting plans in place to welcome him into the family.
Ranger arrived in typical puppy style. He is playful, interactive, and full of puppy antics. As is true to all puppies, stability, routine, leadership, and plenty of patience will help Ranger build the skills needed to become a stable adult dog. Fortunately, Ranger has moved in with one of our amazing foster families who is helping him move forward. Emaciated and lacking some muscle mass, Ranger is now getting the extra help he needs to heal. We cannot wait to see his progress. As Ranger continues to move forward, his forever family will need to continue to socialize him with other people and animals. Socialization is critical to his success. Training is also essential. Not only will training help Ranger bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop into a stable and confident adult.
Although Ranger is cute as a button, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will chew, wine, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, Ranger will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to be. If this boy sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Poppy
ADOPTED 10/28/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Poppy was picked up as a stray in the south. He was brought to an animal shelter and immediately began winning over the hearts of staff members. Although he waited patiently throughout his stray hold, no one came forward for Poppy. Unfortunately, with overcrowding numbers at record breaking highs, as soon as Poppy's stray hold ended, he was placed on the list for euthanasia. We learned about Poppy's likely fate just hours before he was scheduled to cross. Fortunately, we were able to work with rescue partners and staff at the shelter to move quickly and move Poppy to the safety of the MAGSR family.
Poppy is a happy-go-lucky boy. He is friendly, social, and playful. Clearly well-socialized, Poppy loves people and has done well with older kids. When interacting with other dogs, Poppy has been interactive and appropriate. Although Poppy has already built strong social skills, it is essential that his family continues to develop and maintain these skills. Due to the limited history we have, we do not know if Poppy has had any experience in a household. However, he is a quick learner and is ready for this next stage. Although Poppy is ready for a home, like any new family member, he will need time to adjust to his forever home. With patience, structure, and routine, we are sure this handsome guy will meet with success. As Poppy moves forward, it is critical that he attends training. Training will not only help Poppy develop a strong and health bond with his forever family, it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. If this impressive guy sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet Poppy today!
Maxie
ADOPTED 10/28/2023!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Mama Maxie was surrendered to a local shelter as her family felt they could no longer care for her. Shortly after her arrival, she decided to unveil a not so little secret and gave birth to five adorable babies - Colt, Falcon, Bronco, Saint, and Panther. We are lovingly calling them the football puppies. Recognizing that raising puppies in a shelter can be very dangerous for the entire family, staff members began reaching out to rescues for help. When we heard about Mama Maxie and her football puppies, our team immediately began putting plans in place to welcome the entire family to MAGSR.
Over the last several weeks, MAGSR has been fortunate to have a groomer, mobile vet, volunteers, and an amazing foster family working together to ensure that Mama Maxie and her family have everything they need. This has helped them thrive. Now that the babies and Mama Maxie are just about ready to find their forever homes, it is time to share them with the world. Mama Maxie is clearly a special girl. She loves her people and is always ready for some hang time. Intelligent, affectionate, and clearly well socialized, Maxie has brought endless smiles and happiness to her foster family. Although Maxie does enjoy her time out and about and will need daily exercise, she also loves sleeping in the sun spot inside. She is hoping her forever family has some good windows that will let in the sun's rays as well as give her the chance to keep an eye on the world outside. Mama Maxie, just like her babies, will be ready for adoption on 10/14/23. As is true of all shepherds, Maxie will thrive in a household that provides her with the structure, routine, and leadership all GSDs need to meet with success. Training will go a long way with Maxie. Not only will it help her develop a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen.
Mama Maxie is looking for a family that will love and cherish her for a lifetime. If this lovely girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!
Updates:Maxie is truly the definition of a mother hen. She has gracefully raised five healthy and adorable pups, showcasing her exceptional maternal instincts. Her friendly demeanor extends to everyone who enters her space, making her a delight to be around.
Maxie's endearing affection knows no bounds. Her loving nature shines through as she showers those around her with warmth and tenderness. She embodies the essence of trustworthiness, making her the perfect companion and confidante.
This sweet girl finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, relishing leisurely walks and exploring new scents. She’s naturally friendly and sociable nature. Observing the world outside through windows is one of her favorite pastimes, highlighting her curious and observant personality.
Maxie's communication style is gentle; her barks are infrequent and purposeful, often serving to seek your attention. She exudes calmness and a laid-back attitude, making her an easygoing and delightful presence in any home.
Remarkably intelligent and determined, Maxie possesses the keen ability to adapt and learn. With a bit of training, she can even fetch your morning coffee, showcasing her sharp wit and eagerness to please.
If you're looking for a faithful companion who embodies love, gentleness, and intelligence, Maxie is the ideal choice. Her nurturing spirit and affectionate nature make her the perfect addition to any loving home. Come meet Maxie and experience the joy of unconditional love and companionship that she eagerly offers!
Giovanni
ADOPTED 10/27/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Goofy Giovanni and his sister were picked up as strays in the south. Like so many other dogs they were brought to a shelter that is overcrowded. Although both dogs waited out their stray hold hoping their family would come and claim them, no one stepped forward. Unfortunately, unclaimed dogs are quickly added to the euthanasia list as there are not enough spaces for the number of dogs in shelters. Both Giovanni and his sister, although babies, were placed on this list. Fortunately, another rescue pulled them mere hours before they were euthanized and placed them in a foster home. Giovanni's sister was adopted by the foster family. Although they loved Giovanni as well, they knew that he would be happiest in another home. Recognizing that he may meet with better success in a breed specific rescue, he was transferred to MAGSR. We promised we would find this handsome guy a loving family that would cherish him for a lifetime.
Giovanni is in many ways your typical puppy. He is playful, adventurous, and enthusiastic about life. Having been well socialized around other dogs, Giovanni takes cues from other dogs very well and greatly enjoys his canine companions. Clearly socialized with people, Giovanni enjoys interacting. He is both playful and affectionate. A toy guy, Giovanni is hoping that his forever family has plenty of toys that roll and squeak. Still learning the ins and outs of living in a household, Giovanni is picking up expectations, but he will need continued support and patience as he adjusts to his forever home. Although Giovanni is one handsome guy, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and socialization, we know Giovanni will grow up to become a stable and confident canine citizen. If this sweet guy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!
Chaka
ADOPTED 10/20/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely little Chaka was picked up as a stray in the south and brought to animal control. Living in an overcrowded shelter that was significantly over capacity, Chaka was quickly added to the list for euthanasia. Fortunately, one of our rescue partners saw Chaka at the shelter and knew this little girl would be an incredible addition to a family. So, they pulled her just before her time was up and asked MAGSR if we could help Chaka continue to move forward. We knew this girl was special and welcomed her to the family.
Chaka is an absolute love. She is friendly, affectionate, and intelligent. We are so grateful this little lady made it out of the shelter alive. Having lived in a foster home for over a month, Chaka has been impressing her foster family with her social and happy personality. Chaka has done very well with other dogs and loves to play. She is hoping her forever family loves toys as much as she does. Clearly well socialized with people as well, Chaka is always ready for some snuggles and a good belly rub. She is simply a wonderful mix of play and love. Chaka does understand many of the rules and routines of a household; however, as is true of all new does, she will need time to adjust to her forever family. With time, patience, structure, and leadership, Chaka will thrive. Although Chaka is already an impressive girl, as she moves forward training will be critical to her success. Not only will training help Chaka develop into a good canine citizen, but it will also help her create a strong and healthy bond with her family. If this lovely little lady sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet Chaka today!

Sweet Howie was picked up as a stray and brought to a local shelter. Cute as pie this little guy was lucky to have been found by the right people. Upon arrival at the shelter, staff members knew something was not right with Howie. They immediately began pooling resources to determine how they could help. Tests were administered and it was determined that Howie is positive for parvo. Although they knew Howie deserved every chance to survive, the shelter could not provide the 24 hour care needed to help Howie move forward. So, an emergency plea went out. When we learned that Howie needed immediate support, we began working with our team to help him move forward.
Howie is still so very young. In order to survive, he will need to fight and fight hard. He does not yet know it, but MAGSR will fight right alongside him.
Parvo is a highly contagious virus; it is particularly challenging for puppies to survive. Although there is no cure, with 24/7 monitoring and supportive care, he has a chance at survival. As we move Howie forward, our vetting partners will be working with Howie to keep him hydrated, control his GI upset, and prevent secondary infections, while also keeping him monitored and warm. Parvo care is very expensive. We need the GSD community's help in order to provide Howie with every chance at survival. Please consider donating to Howie's care now so that this special boy has every opportunity to fight. Howie is in the fight for his life. Will you help him by being his hero?

Mama Maxie was surrendered to a local shelter.
Saint is the spitting image of her lovely Mama. She is intelligent, energetic, and full of spirit. She is looking for a forever family that will keep her well socialized with people and dogs. All members of the family will be ready for adoption on 10/14/23.
Although Saint is an absolute doll, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, training, and leadership, the football puppies will grow into the stable and confident adults we know they are destined to become. If lovely little Saint sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today.

Lovely Lili lived in a household with dogs of various ages and sizes. Although she did well overall, like many GSDs when structure wasn't an option, Lili would provide that structure which got her into a few scuffles with her furry siblings. Recognizing that Lili would be most successful if rehomed, her family made the difficult decision to surrender her to MAGSR. We promised we would find Lili the perfect family that would love her for a lifetime.
Lili is an active, intelligent, and friendly girl. It is clear that she was well socialized with people. Having been placed with a foster family that is providing her with daily exercise and training, Lili is excelling. She picks up new commands quickly and does a nice job taking her cues from her handler. Not only is Lili learning expectations, but she is also gaining endless opportunities to socialize with other animals in varied environments. This is helping her develop into a stable and confident dog. Having lived in a household, Lili understands many of the rules and expectations of a home. House broken and crate trained, Lili has a great start. However, as is true for all new dogs, she will need time to adjust to her forever home. An active girl, Lili is hoping her new family enjoys long walks, adventures, and plenty of play time. Although Lili has already begun training, it is critical that her new family continue this process. Not only will training help Lili develop into a good citizen, but it will also help her develop a strong and healthy bond with her forever family. If this stunning girl sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet Lili today!

Sweet Clarice was found hungry, hurt, and alone in a busy metropolitan area. Recognizing that she needed help and fast, her finder contacted the local shelter and had her moved inside. Shelter staff immediately fell in love with this girl. She was friendly and affectionate even though she was clearly in pain. While she waited for a family to come and claim her, medical support began in order to help Clarice move forward. Unfortunately, when no one came, Clarice found herself on the euthanasia list. Shelters everywhere are experiencing overwhelming numbers which has increased euthanasia rates across the country. Knowing that Clarice deserved a loving family that would treasure her for a lifetime, shelter staff put out a plea for help. MAGSR heard that Clarice was out of options and stepped forward to help this special girl.
Clarice is beautiful, playful, and affectionate. Having clearly been well socialized with people of all ages as well as other dogs, it is obvious that someone along her journey provided her with opportunities to develop into a stable adult dog. Although we do not know much about her past life, we do know that Clarice does understand some of the ins and outs of living in a household. However, as is true of any new dog, Clarice will benefit from structure, routine, and leadership. This will help her adjust to the rules and routines of the household. Clarice has already begun to learn some commands with her foster family. She is clearly intelligent. As Clarice continues to move forward, it is imperative that her forever family continue with training. Training will not only help Clarice develop a strong bond with her family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Clarice is looking for an amazing family who will love her for a lifetime. If she sounds like the right match for you, ask to meet Clarice today!

Lovely little Ellen was picked up as a stray and brought to a local shelter. Although it was clear that this girl was socialized with people, no one came to claim her. Recognizing that shepherds are most successful when placed through a breed specific rescue, the shelter sent out a rescue plea with the hopes that the little lady would find placement. When MAGSR heard that Ellen needed a soft place to land, our team began putting plans in place to help her move forward.
Ellen is a friendly and affectionate girl. It is obvious that she was well socialized with new people. She approaches with tail wags and kisses. Clearly accustomed to toys, Ellen is a fan of the ball but is still working on returning it to her handler. Although playful and interactive, it is clear that Ellen has not had a lot of training. She knows sit and seems to know down. However, she is still learning many of the basics. Training will go a long way with this girl. Not only will training help her develop a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop into a stable and confident adult shepherd. As is true of all shepherds, Ellen will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. Clear expectations and opportunities to meet with success will help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. As Ellen is in many ways still a pup, it is important that her family exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. Lovely little Ellen is looking for an active forever family that will provide her with a lifetime of love. Could that be with you?

Lovely Miss Annabelle was adopted out as a puppy. Her family adored her and did everything they could to help her meet with success. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer provide Annabelle with the life they knew she deserved. As a result, they made the difficult decision to surrender her back to the MAGSR family. We promised Annabelle's family that we would find her an incredible forever family.
Annabelle is a stunning girl. Her eye-catching colors and look easily attract people to her. Having been socialized both inside and outside of the house, Annabelle does well when meeting new people. However, as is characteristic of the breed, she often needs a moment to initiate new interactions. Annabelle is looking for a forever family that will continue to socialize her with new people and in new environments in a controlled manner. This will help her continue to build confidence. As a young shepherd, Annabelle is hoping to find an active family that will exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. Already a big fan of toys and balls, Annabelle loves play time. She hopes her forever family has plenty of toys to keep her occupied. Although Annabelle already knows a few commands, it is important that she participate in training with her new family. Training will not only help Annabelle develop a strong, healthy bond with her family, but it will also help her develop into a stable and confident adult dog. If this stunning girl sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Cooper
ADOPTED 09/25/2023!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Joyful Cooper has been moved about a few times in his young life. However, he was lucky that the right people stepped in and recognized that a young, social guy like him would thrive in a household that had the time and energy to work with him. So, they brought Cooper to a local shelter where staff members fell in love with this interactive guy. Although Cooper easily won over the hearts of the shelter team, they recognized that he would be most successful if he found placement through a rescue. When we heard about Cooper's need for placement, we immediately welcomed him to the MAGSR family.
Cooper is an interactive and social boy. He clearly has had the opportunity to interact with others throughout his puppyhood. Although Cooper definitely has a great start, continued socialization is imperative to his success as an adult. Typical of most young GSDs, Cooper has a lot of energy. It will be essential that Cooper's family exercise his body and his mind on a daily basis. This will help him maintain a stable and confident mindset. Although Cooper is still very young, he has already begun to learn some basic commands. His intelligence, willingness to please, and his food motivation makes him a great student. Cooper will excel in training class. Training will not only help Cooper develop a strong and healthy bond with his family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen that we know that he is destined to be. Cooper is looking for a loving and active household who will love him for a lifetime. Could this be with you?
Updates:Cooper has been with us for a little over a week, and he is already running with ur pack of two GSDs, Nala and Vader. He clearly looks up to Vader, and he desperately wants to win over Nala (who is not as friendly as Vader!). He hasd had no issues socializing with Nala and Vader, and he would play with Vader 24/7 if Vader would relent and do so. He has boundless energy, but he is, thankfully, good at entertaining himself. He enjoys chewing all shapes, sizes, and types of bones and tugging on the tuffy toy rings. He is starved for love and comes by regularly for pets and snuggles when we are sitting on the couch.
Cooper came to us after a few weeks of formal training, and he knows and understands his commands. Temptation sometimes get the best of him, but he gets back in line easily when he is corrected. He is housebroken and can tell you when he needs to go out (he paces in a circle or scratches the door), and he sleeps in our mudroom at night (gated in) with no barking or other issues. He walks fairly well on the leash. He is occasionally reactive to another dog, but it is clearly fear rather than aggression. He is a voracious eater, which is good news because he needs to gain some weight!
The original description uses the best word we can think of for Cooper – he is joyful. Despite his rough start in life, he is a happy, easygoing, loving, playful dog. Any family would be lucky to have Cooper.

‘Social Stryker” is just strutn’ his stuff as a happy, 9 month old GSD mix! This young fella was an owner-surrender to the shelter because his previous owners didn’t understand the puppy energy of a seriously happy, GSD mix. Since he is absolutely full of life, happy to meet people, ‘Social Stryer’ has put in an application to be the ambassador of the GSD-mix at a store (probably Walmart) near you! As with any eager, happy go-lucky puppy, he’s unaware of his surroundings and his jovial demeanor can sometimes be overwhelming if not properly contained and trained.
‘Social Stryer’ is eager to find the right FUR-ever family, and would really thrive in an environment where he is provided the basic necessities of a growing puppy - training, structure, boundaries, routines, and continued guidance.
If ‘Social Stryer’ sounds like the happy hours, days and weeks you would like to emBARK upon, please ask to add her to your family today!

Zara and her buddy, Zappa, were dumped by a pet store in the south. Although it was evident that both dogs were sweet, they needed immediate help if they were going to survive. Fortunately, another rescue stepped forward to get the pups off the street and into safe homes while shelters were contacted and a stray hold began. Although they worked with local groups to try to find Zara and Zappa a safe place to go, with overcrowding at unprecedented numbers, once again these babies needed someone to step in. When asked if MAGSR could help both Zara and Zappa move forward safely, our team immediately began working to put a plan in place in order to welcome them to the family.
Although they have been abandoned, left to survive on their own, and treated cruelly by some people in the neighborhood where they were dumped, both Zara and Zappa remain sweet pups. They enjoy the company of their people and other animals. Having had the luck of living in foster homes while waiting to move up to MAGSR, these babies have already begun to learn the ins and outs of living in a home. However, as is true of all new dogs, they will need some time to adjust to the routines and expectations of their forever families. In order to provide Zara and Zappa with a solid foundation, it is critical that their families begin training. Training will not only help these babies develop a strong and healthy bond with their forever families, but it will also help them grow into stable and confident adults.
Although Zara and Zappa are absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, routine, and training these babies will grow into well-rounded adults. If Zara or Zappa sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet them today!

Marvelous Murphy was adored by his family. They made sure he had everything he needed. Although they loved him dearly, due to circumstances beyond their control, they were unable to continue to provide for this incredible boy. Recognizing that Murphy deserved an amazing forever family, they asked MAGSR to welcome Murphy to the family so that we could find the right match. We were honored by their request, and were happy to welcome Murphy to MAGSR.
Murphy is a social and intelligent guy. As is true of all shepherds he has some good energy and is most successful when he has daily exercise. He thrives when given structure, routine, and leadership. Having lived in a home since he was a young pup, Murphy understands many of the ins and out of living in a home. A snuggler at heart, Murphy is hoping his family also enjoys cuddles. He is housebroken, crate trained, and understands rules and boundaries. Although Murphy already knows a lot about living in a home, it will take him some time to adjust to his forever home. However, given patience and clear routines, we are sure he will adjust well. True to the breed, Murphy can be protective of his people, however, with consistent boundaries and expectations he does well. Continued training will go a long way with this guy. Murphy is looking for a forever family that will cherish him for a lifetime, could that be with you?
Kirby

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Kirby is a gorgeous, light colored young and healthy GSD who did very well in his previous home. We know a little about Kirby, as he was an owner-surrender due to COVID hitting this family particularly hard and unavoidable changes in the household. For Kirby’s former family, this was an incredibly heartbreaking and difficult decision to make, but they knew they weren’t able to provide the life Kirby once knew and deserved. They wanted to do what is best for him and brought Kirby to us. Unfortunately, all of this commotion has left poor Kirby very confused, and as a result, he is reserved and unsure.
Young Kirby will need some extra time decompressing as he realizes that he is truly loved and the right family is near. He would thrive in a home with a person or family who is familiar or is eager to teach him the ways of being a good GSD; structure, boundaries, routines, consistency and love.
Kirby would be eternally grateful for the rescue, love and structure. In return, your face will be adorned with mostly sloppy kisses and a shadow in the shape of a handsome GSD. If this sounds like the perfect companion to your household, then ask to meet Kirby today!
Updates:Kirby is acclimating well to his foster home! He is enjoying spending time with his two spotted foster sisters. He is crate trained, housebroken and knows how to sit. Kirby really enjoys kisses, snuggles, chewing Nylabones and playing with balls! Kirby is a giant puppy at just over a year old, he doesn’t realize he is almost 70 pounds. He is working on leash walking and respecting personal space. He has a friendly, outgoing personality and wants to please people. He loves treats of all kinds and takes them really nicely. I’m sure he would like another furry sibling to play with in his forever home.
Kirby is enjoying his foster home as well as all dogs of all sizes! He loves to run and play in the fenced yard. Favorite toys are Nylabones and Kong toys, as well as tough dog safe balls. Kirby is working on exploring new environments and has done well going out on some adventures. His perfect new furever home would have a fur sibling or two for him to play with, lots of fun toys, and someone to give him love and kisses. Come and meet this handsome young man!
Serena

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Although Serena's life was filled with endless challenges and suffering prior to her confiscation, she remains loving, affectionate, and energetic. With a sweet and bouncy personality, Serena does well with a calm and confident handler. Having been starved, Serean is still learning that regular meals and kindness will now be part of her daily routine. She can be a little over excited with food and is learning to take it gently. Although she has endured a lot of suffering in her short life, Serena's demeanor remains outgoing and lovable. Sometimes we are simply astonished by the resilience of dogs that have been through so much trauma but are still friendly and interactive. As is true of all shepherds, Serena will thrive when provided with structure, routine, and leadership. In many ways she is still in the beginning stages of her new life. She will need time to adjust to new people, environments, and expectations. However, given patience and opportunities to learn, we are sure that Serena will continue to discover the joys of being a beloved member of a family. We do not know if Serena has had much experience living in a household. Clear rules and boundaries will help her settle into her new home. Training will also go a long way for this lovely lady. Not only will training help Serena develop a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have learned that all of the Kentucky Six are heartworm positive. This could have easily been avoided with a monthly heartworm preventative. Serena's treatment has begun. However, she will need a few months to complete the entirety of her treatment. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, MAGSR will cover the entire cost of Serena's medical treatment. Please consider donating
to Serena's care as it will not only help her continue to move forward, but it will also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs. Serena is looking for a forever family that will cherish her for a lifetime. If this lovable girl sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Today marks week 2 with Serena.
She is adjusting very well to house life and it seems like she’s enjoying it.
This week we let her off leash in the house and the back yard which has helped her get used to the house even more. She is a Velcro dog, so she’s usually right where I am anyway.
We have had no accidents this week! She is also understanding her crate is her space. She goes in there during the day sometimes to nap and takes toys in there.
We introduced some inside toys this week and she was a huge fan. She does eat toys that are more like stuffed animals. More heavy duty German shepherd toys are recommended for her.
We took her to a pool yesterday and it didn’t seem like she was a big fan. I think she’s just cautious when experiencing new things. She did swim a bit. I’ll send a few pictures of that in a separate email.
She seems to prefer being inside the house. She loves to play wrestle, chase and be chased with her foster brother murphy. All games that are better to be played outside but since she prefers the inside we have been playing them inside more than last week.
She is a very sweet and cuddly girl. She loves pets, giving doggie hugs, giving bear hugs and kisses.
We have discovered windows and mirrors and we are big fans.
She is good with sit, down and paw. She does then great when she knows we are training but sometimes when alot is going in or she excited, it takes a few times to get those commands still.
We also had a teeth brushing this week. She was a trooper. She’s got some brown stuff on some back teeth and I scrubbed it but it’s still there. We’ll keep working on the teeth brushing. I also gave her a minty which is an off brand greenie for teeth cleaning.
She’s a morning dog. Likes to wake up early and then is ready for a nap around 10 am. She also gets more energy during the evenings and then is ready to sleep around 9 pm.
We took her to Dog Days in the Park and she did really well meeting people and even some dogs that came up to her. There were many little children saying hi to her as well and she did very well with them as well.
We took Serena to my grandmothers on the bay for a party. She was indifferent to the sand but enjoyed walking in the water. She didn’t want to swim or fetch in the water but walking around was just fine. She was very well behaved and polite meeting all the guests.
Serena gets very excited when we get her “dressed” to leave the house with her leash.
Yesterday we took her over a friends house where she played very well with their small dog. She also met turkeys but the turkeys were caged - very exciting anyway.
She is doing well with “come” and her name.
Everyone that meets her instantly falls in love with her. She is the sweetest, most lovable girl ever. In the morning she will walk up to my side of the bed and rest her head on me for morning head snuggles. It is the cutest.
She was helping me pull some weeds in the garden this week and we discovered she likes tomatoes. I have caught her several times laying in a shady part of the garden just eating tomatoes off the vine. She is also a fan of apples and she loves carrots. I usually give her a carrot in her crate if I need to go to the store and she’s very happy.
She gets zoomies in the morning and evening. She is fast as lightening racing around the backyard.
Her go to sound for communication is whining. She won’t bark at you but she’ll whine if she needs something.

Good With Kids: Yes
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Gentle Sandy was picked up as a stray and brought to a busy shelter in the south. Upon intake it was highly apparent that something was not right. Sandy was struggling to stand up and was clearly in pain on his right back leg. Recognizing that this guy needed help, shelter staff had Sandy evaluated by a vet who diagnosed Sandy with a right femoral fracture. Although they began providing this sweet guy with pain medication, the shelter did not have the resources to surgically repair Sandy's leg. With limited options available, Sandy was placed on the list for euthanasia. At the same time, a rescue plea was sent out to see if someone could help Sandy move forward. MAGSR answered that call with the help of a few incredible people. Together we were able to pull Sandy from the shelter just before he ran out of time.
Sandy is a friendly, social, and affectionate guy. Although we know he is in a lot of pain, he continues to bring joy to those around him and seek out affection. Known to have a gentle and dainty play style, Sandy enjoys the company of other dogs. However, he will be on restriction while he heals. We do not know much about Sandy's past, but we do know that his future is bright. Currently, Sandy is living with one of our amazing vetting partners in the south. Having arrived with a severe whipworm infestation, an upper respiratory infection, and a fractured femur, Sandy's vet's are working hard to make sure he has everything he needs to move forward comfortably. Every day Sandy gets a little stronger. His surgical repair is scheduled and we are hoping that he breezes through recovery. Sandy will need a little time to heal; however, he will be looking for his forever family soon. If Sandy sounds like the right match for your household, ask about him today!
Updates:Over the last two months Sandy has made huge strides. This handsome guy has a lot of personality in a fluffy package. Intelligent, energetic, and charismatic, Sandy has easily won over the hearts of everyone he has met. With an incredible vetting team supporting him every step of the way, Sandy has healed nicely and is ready to find his forever home. As his medical needs have been addressed, Sandy moved in with a foster family who is helping him learn the ins and outs of living in a home. He is already crate trained and is very close to being house broken. With an endless love for treats, Sandy is happy to learn new skills and enjoys his rewards.
Having discovered that people can be kind and affectionate, Sandy loves to snuggle up to his people for a nice chin scratch and a belly rub. In many ways, this goofy guy thinks he is a lap dog and should be touching his people most of the time. With an unending love of toys, Sandy is happy to play with someone or entertain himself. Plush toys, squeaky toys, tough toys, and a jolly ball are all exciting options when it comes to playtime. Sandy is also a big fan of deer antlers and elk horns. He will happily chew on them for hours. Sandy is looking for an active family that loves to play. If this handsome guy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!
Happy-go-lucky Sandy is one of the most joyful boys his foster family has ever met. He wakes up with a smile every day and stays that way until he goes to bed at night. This incredible guy must have been created to share happiness with everyone he meets. He certainly is good at his job.
Sandy met one of our incredible training partners a little over a month ago. His enthusiasm for life immediately captured their hearts. So, to help him on his journey, they offered to train Sandy for MAGSR. This lucky guy spent four weeks at a board and train program learning all the basics - sit, down, place, heel, etc. No surprise, Sandy enjoyed every minute of his stay and has come back to his foster family with several new skills. Having participated in a training program that would typically cost $3,000, Sandy is a lucky guy. His forever family will also benefit from lifetime support with his trainer. As Sandy settles back into his foster home, he is practicing his new skills daily. Daily exercise for Sandy's mind and body are critical to his success. Once exercised, Sandy loves to snuggle in for some cuddles. This incredible guy can't wait to find his forever family. Could that be with you?
Although Sandy will need to review basic training with his forever family, he comes with a lifetime of training support from his team.

Good With Kids: Older Kids Only
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Lovely Lassie was originally purchased from a breeder in the south with the intention of potentially breeding her. However, as time passed, her family decided that this was too much for them. Unfortunately, with busy schedules and other things to attend to, Lassie was too often left without the attention and care she deserved too. Luckily, one member of the family adored this lovely girl and kept an eye on her. She made sure to visit and work with Lassie as often as possible. Although she loved Lassie, she knew that this such a special girl deserved so much more. When she reached out to MAGSR for help, we immediately started working with our team to welcome Lassie to the family.
Lassie is a stunning lady. Having been brought up around people of all ages, she is good with a variety of people. However, due to a lack of socialization it can take her a little time to warm up to new people. Once comfortable she is affectionate and playful. Lassie really enjoys playing with kids. Although Lassie is good with large dogs, she is not a big fan of cats or small dogs. Having lived in a home, Lassie already knows many of the ins and outs of living with a family. She is crate trained and housebroken. However, as is true of any new dog, Lassie will need time to adjust to the structure and routines of her forever home. Food motivated, Lassie is excited to start training and is planning on being the star of the class. Training is critical as it will not only provide her with the opportunity to develop a healthy bond with her new family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Lassie is looking for a forever family that will enjoy her playful personality and affectionate mannerisms. Could that family be with you?

Sweet Jasmine was absolutely adored by her family. They had put forth plans to ensure that she met with success. However, due to a sudden, unexpected change in their lives, they were no longer able to continue to care for Jasmine. Knowing that this little bundle of joy deserved every opportunity to move forward with love and stability, they made the difficult decision to surrender her. MAGSR promised Jasmine's family that we would find her an amazing family that would love her for a lifetime.
Jasmine is a playful, interactive, and joyful puppy. It is beyond evident that her family did everything they could to make sure she was well socialized. She enjoys the company of people and animals. Having lived in a loving and committed household, Jasmine has also already begun to learn the ins and outs of living in a home. Although she is doing an incredible job, some grace will be needed as she adjusts to the rules and routines of her new family. As Jasmine moves forward, it is critical that her forever family takes her to training. Not only will training help Jasmine develop a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her grow into a stable and confident adult shepherd.
Although Jasmine is an absolute doll, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, we know that Jasmine will develop into an amazing adult shepherd. If this girl sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!

Major was surrendered to the rescue when his family could no longer provide him with the time, attention, and care that they knew he deserved. Recognizing that Major would thrive in a household that could meet the needs of a young shepherd, they surrendered him to our care. We promised that we would find Major the perfect match so that he could move forward.
Major is a stunning and intelligent guy. Young, playful, and energetic, he is looking for a family that will help him meet with success. Major's family will need to provide him with daily exercise for both his mind and his body. This will help him burn some of his puppy-like energy as well as help him use his mind productively. As is true of all shepherds, Major is looking for a forever family that will provide him with the structure, routine, and leadership that he needs to thrive. Training will go a long way with this boy. Not only will training help him develop a strong and healthy bond with his family, but it will also help him grow into a stable and confident adult. Having spent most of his life living outside, Major's new family will have to teach him what it is to live in a home. He is housebroken and we are working on crate training However, as is true of any new dog, he will need time to adjust to the rules and expectations of his forever family. Major is looking for a forever family that will commit to him for a lifetime. If this amazing guy sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Rainbow

Good With Kids: Likely
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.

Sweet Rainbow was living on the streets in the south caring for a litter of puppies. Although she was doing everything she needed to keep her babies safe and loved, people can be very unkind and this family needed help. Animal control was contacted; the entire family was brought into their care. When they were old enough, Rainbow's family was listed as available for adoption. All of her pups found forever homes, but this sweet girl was left behind. Unfortunately, this happens far too often placing moms in danger of euthanasia. With overcrowding at unimaginable levels, Rainbow's time was almost up. She was incredibly lucky and another rescue was able to pull her from the shelter with the hopes of giving her a little more time to find a breed specific rescue.
While waiting for placement within a rescue that was more likely to help her move forward, Rainbow was placed in an incredible foster family. This gave her a chance to learn the ins and outs of living in a home. It also enabled her to socialize with dogs, cats, and kids. As an incredibly stable girl, Rainbow did an amazing job in the home. Although we know Rainbow can thrive within a loving household, it is important that her forever family remember that it will take her some time to adjust. Given structure, routine, and leadership, Rainbow will meet with success. Training will also help Rainbow continue to move forward. Training will not only help her bond with her forever family but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. If this incredible girl sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!

Kyra and her sister, Basha, were well-loved by their family. However, when a significant change in circumstances altered the family structure, their owner could no longer provide them with the life they deserved. Recognizing that both girls deserved the opportunity to find forever homes that could provide them with everything they needed and more, their family made the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye and surrendered them to MAGSR.
Kyra is absolutely stunning. As a working-line shepherd, she is smart, energetic, and looking for an experienced handler. True to the breed, Kyra thrives with structure, routine, and leadership. With clear direction from a confident handler, Kyra meets with success. Having lived in a household, Kyra understands many of the rules and expectations of living in a home. She is housebroken and crate trained. However, as is true of any new dog, she will need time to adjust to the routines of her forever family. With some training already in line, Kyra does know many of her basic commands. However, continued training is critical to Kyra's success. This girl is not a couch potato. She will need daily opportunities to exercise her body and her mind in order to maintain a stable and confident mindset. Kyra is looking for an active forever family that will love her for a lifetime, could that family be you?
Gloria
ADOPTED 07/30/2023!
Good With Kids: Unknown
I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help.
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Gloria was picked up as a stray in the south. Based upon her poor body condition, it was assumed that she had lacked care or been on her own for some time. Although she was clearly in need of help, Gloria proved to have a phenomenal temperament with shelter staff. Due to overcrowding everywhere and an endless number of dogs entering the system every day, shelter staff recognized that Gloria had limited options for moving forward. To provide her with her best chance at finding a forever home, they began networking Gloria with the hopes of finding rescue placement. When we heard that Gloria needed a soft place to land, we immediately began putting plans in place to welcome this lovely girl to the MAGSR family.
Gloria is an intelligent and curious girl. Although friendly, she prefers to take her time when adjusting to new people and new situations. When working with a calm and confident handler, Gloria thrives. As is true of all GSDs, Gloria is looking for a household that will provide her with the structure, routine, and leadership that will help her meet with success. At this time, we do not yet know if Gloria understands the ins and outs of living in a household. However, we know she is more than ready to try out this next step. The comforts of a quiet home, regular meals, and a comfortable place to sleep will continue to help Gloria on her journey. Not only will Gloria benefit from a loving home, but she will also benefit from training. Training will help Gloria create a strong, healthy bond with her forever family; it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Once pulled from the shelter, our team quickly began to address Gloria's medical needs. Emaciated with severely infected ears, raw skin, missing hair and sores throughout her body, it was clear that Gloria was in constant discomfort and pain. On top of this, she developed an upper respiratory infection that required additional support. As we looked closer at her needs, it was noticed that Gloria's gait seemed off. Once healthy enough to move forward, our incredible vetting team decided to run x-rays and discovered that Gloria is suffering from severe hip dysplasia and arthritis in both hips. We have begun supplements and medications to help her with pain management; however, Gloria will need to meet with an orthopedic specialist to determine next steps for care. Although Gloria's care will be very expensive, we know that this lovely girl is more than worth the cost. MAGSR will cover the entirety of Gloria's treatment. Please consider donating to Gloria's care. Not only will your donation help Gloria receive the medical support she needs to move forward, but it will also help us continue to support medical dogs in need. Please watch for updates on Gloria as she takes her next step toward recovery.
