Purchased as a puppy by a devoted family member, it’s immediately clear that Mozerella was deeply adored. His family put in the time and care to ensure he grew up social, healthy, and well-prepared for life in a home. Although the plan was to spend their lives together, an unavoidable housing situation made it impossible for Mozerella to stay. Rehoming a beloved dog is never an easy decision, but it was made with his best interest at heart. Trusting that MAGSR would find him the incredible forever family he deserves, they made the selfless choice to surrender him to rescue.

Mozerella is everything you’d hope for in a young German Shepherd—intelligent, playful, and affectionate. With a few big changes behind him, he’s currently learning to adjust to his new surroundings. Very nose-oriented, he’s been busy exploring the world through scent, taking in everything from the fresh air outside to cozy beds and treats indoors. Still very much a young dog at heart, Mozerella thrives with structure, routine, and clear expectations. Continued socialization will be important for him as he grows—opportunities to safely meet new people and other animals will help him build confidence and strengthen his already solid foundation. Training will also play a key role, not only to reinforce good manners but to help him form a strong bond with his forever family and become the best companion he can be.

Having lived in a loving home, Mozerella already understands many household routines. He is housebroken and crate trained, and he has experience living with both dogs and a cat. His play style can be a bit rough at times, but he responds well to correction from other dogs. With the cat, he enjoyed a playful chase now and then but showed that he could respect boundaries when told playtime was over. Mozerella is a big fan of toys, daily activity, and—of course—treats. Sweet Fritz is the man that checks all of the boxes — the dog your friends say would never be found in a rescue or shelter.

       Tall, dark and handsome?

       Distinguished and chill? 

So how did he end up with MAGSR? The heartbreaking story of outliving his owners. Fritz had a comfortable and loving life with another dog and his favorite person until one day his person was just...gone. His housemate was rehomed and kind hands made sure that Fritz made his way to a safe middle ground with MAGSR. Poor Fritz has experienced unimaginable change and loss in his senior years but he still greets every day with joy and love. We'd say he wakes up with a tail wag every day, but he seems to be missing the essential ingredient for such activity! Don't worry, he doesn't miss it and he's such a giant hunk of a dog we don't think you will, either. 

Fritz is currently living in a foster home with a small dog and a cat. He has been friendly with everyone he has met, a true gentle giant. Fritz wants to be near his people first and foremost- a velcro dog who just wants to experience his golden years in the company of those who love him. He still has plenty of zest for life, enjoying nice walks, cozy beds and sweet snuggles-- enjoying every moment with the people who love him! Senior dogs are special treasures that fill their homes with a gentle kind of companionship and love. Regal Rory was originally welcomed to the MAGSR family as a puppy. She was one of the Baseball Puppies. Having lived with an amazing foster family, Rory had developed a good foundation of social skills and was adopted into a loving household. Although her family had every intention of loving Rory for a lifetime, when a family dynamic shifted, the decision was made that it was in Rory's best interest to return her to the MAGSR family. Surrendering a cherished member of the family is never a decision that is made lightly. Rory's family adored her; however, they knew that she would be more successful if placed in a different home. We know this was not easy for Rory's family, but we promised to find her an incredible match so that she can move forward and meet with success. 

In many ways still a puppy, Rory is young, energetic, and curious about the world around her. However, having left the home she expected to remain in for the rest of her life, she is a little unsure right now. Recognizing that Rory will need some time to decompress and adjust to new people and environments, our team is working with her to help her meet with success. Rory's new family will need to ensure that she is given time, patience, structure, and routine in her new household. This will help lovely Rory thrive. Once comfortable, Rory is a playful and loving girl. She enjoys toys and loves to learn new tricks. When playtime is finished, Rory is an expert cuddler. She is a great balance of joy and affection. Having lived in a loving home, Rory understands many of the ins and outs of living in a household. She is both housebroken and crate trained. However, as is true of all new dogs, she will need time to learn the specific expectations of her new family. Training will be beyond helpful for Rory. Not only will training help Rory build a strong bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.

Stunning Simba is the father of the Fall puppies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato (Tator). These babies were an accidental litter that was raised with their parents. Although his human family loved him, it can be difficult to properly train, care for, and provide adequate stimulation for a large number of dogs. Recognizing that this family would be most successful if placed within a breed specific rescue, their family contacted MAGSR. With a no family left behind policy, we did not think twice when asked to take dad along with the Fall puppies. MAGSR has promised to find every member of this family a safe and loving forever home that will cherish them for a lifetime. 

Simba moved into the rescue a few weeks ago. As he was not given the opportunity to socialize outside of his family and had been exposed to a child who was not treating him appropriately, we placed him with an experienced foster family. Not only is this family able to provide Simba with opportunities to socialize in controlled settings and with new people and animals, but they are also able to provide Simba with training. Training, as is true with all dogs, is key to Simba's success. One of our training partners, Mason Dixon K9, has already begun Simba's program. This is helping him develop the confidence and stability needed to move forward. As he continues to move forward with a family of his very own, MDK9 has committed to providing Simba with a lifetime of support. Simba is lucky to have so many people in his corner. 

Simba is a very intelligent and active guy. He's also a sweetheart who loves a good cuddle. He is looking for a forever family that will provide him with an appropriate balance of exercise, playtime, and snuggles. It is critical that Simba's family provide him with daily opportunities to exercise both his body and his mind. This will help him maintain a stable presence in his forever home. Mavis is a joyful, energetic 6-month-old pup with a heart as big as her personality. Always ready to play, explore, and make new friends, she truly is the life of the party. From the moment shelter staff met her after she was picked up as a stray in the South, they knew Mavis was something special—a little spark of endless joy in an overcrowded shelter full of dogs needing help. Fearing she might be overlooked due to overcrowding, a plea was sent out for her. While many rescues were already overwhelmed, our team stepped forward with a plan, and Mavis walked out the shelter doors and into the MAGSR family.

With a solid social foundation already in place, Mavis has learned that many people are just as excited to say hello as she is. Continued socialization will be key to her success, as she benefits from positive experiences with new people, animals, and environments. She is a smart, curious girl who learns quickly and loves people of all sizes. Mavis adores kids and has a playful spirit, though—like most young pups—she is still learning her manners. With training, structure, and clear boundaries, she could be a wonderful companion for a child to grow up with and a true best friend.

Mavis does best with a calm, confident leader and often looks to her handler for reassurance, especially when encountering new sounds or situations. As a former stray, she can be a bit skittish at times, but with confidence-building and continued positive exposure, she continues to thrive and grow.

Thanks to time in a fantastic temporary foster home, we’ve learned that Mavis already has great house skills. She is housebroken, crate trained, and polite on leash. She takes care of business right away when outside and will sit patiently while waiting for her leash to be removed—though, as a young pup, she can get a little excited if it takes too long! Occasionally, the world is just a bit too exciting and she may dash suddenly on leash, but overall she is learning quickly. Mavis enjoys relaxing with her people and has a love-hate relationship with the TV—she likes to watch, but may react when animals or certain sounds appear. She’s incredibly affectionate and believes being a lap dog is a very serious job. Having been overcorrected in the past, Mavis may briefly retreat when told “no,” but she quickly bounces back, eager to give kisses and reassure herself that all is well.

Some dogs are passed around far too many times in their young lives, and sweet Kieko is one of them. At just five months old, she has already experienced more transitions than any puppy should. Each time she began to settle in, another change followed. Fortunately, her most recent owner recognized that Kieko deserved stability and made the thoughtful decision to surrender her to a local shelter only two weeks after bringing her home. Knowing Kieko needed a permanent, supportive placement, shelter staff reached out to MAGSR for help. We knew this adorable little lady would thrive in rescue, and thanks to an incredible foster family stepping forward, Kieko officially joined the MAGSR family.

In many ways, Kieko is your typical young German Shepherd puppy—curious, energetic, and eager to explore the world around her. She has previously lived with other dogs and cats; however, her prey drive is a bit too strong for feline friends, so a cat-free home will be best for her moving forward. While we don’t know much about her early history, it’s clear that someone invested time in giving Kieko a solid socialization foundation. She enjoys people and happily cuddles up for affection.

Because of the many changes she has experienced early in life, Kieko will need time to adjust and settle into her forever home. With patience, consistency, and continued training, she will absolutely thrive. Kieko already walks well on leash and knows several basic cues, including sit, stay, paw, and down. Like many puppies, she’s still learning appropriate manners and can be a bit enthusiastic, especially when it comes to keeping all four paws on the floor. This is a normal puppy behavior that will improve with clear expectations, structure, and training. Overall, Kieko is a joyful, affectionate puppy who loves to run, play, and soak up attention from her people.

While Kieko is beyond delightful, it’s important to remember that she is still a puppy. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and bring plenty of playful chaos along with them. Hannah has known love her whole life. Since she was a puppy, she lived in a devoted home where she was absolutely adored by her dad. Understanding how important socialization is, he made sure Hannah had plenty of positive experiences meeting new people — and it shows! When her dad developed a serious health condition, he made the heartbreaking but selfless decision to rehome Hannah so she could continue to receive the care and life she deserves. Our team immediately recognized how special she is and welcomed her with open arms.

Hannah is a young, intelligent, and attentive girl with a wonderful head on her shoulders. She reads her handler’s cues beautifully and is eager to respond. Having been exposed to other dogs throughout her life, she understands many canine social signals. That said, she does best with slow and proper introductions to ensure positive, successful interactions. While in our care, she’s been working regularly with handlers to continue building those skills.

Thanks to her home experience, Hannah already knows the ins and outs of indoor living. She is housebroken and crate trained. As with any new dog, she will need time, patience, and understanding as she settles into her forever home. When things got a little too chaotic, Kahless showed his thoughtful side—quietly stepping away to relax in a calm space when he needed a break. Known as the peacemaker of the pack, Kahless got along beautifully with everyone and brought a steady, grounding presence to the home. He was the kind of dog who helped keep the balance. His family loved him deeply, but with so much activity and responsibility in the home, they realized they couldn’t give Kahless the one-on-one attention he deserved. In a truly selfless decision, they chose to seek rescue placement so he could have the opportunity to thrive in a home of his own.

Not every dog gets to spend their life curled up on a couch, showered with affection, and surrounded by family. Ivy’s story is a reminder of just how resilient dogs can be — even when life hasn't always been as kind as you may hope.

Though Ivy has known human kindness, she has never known the comfort of a true home until now. She came to MAGSR having never lived in a home, yet her soulful eyes and calm presence speak of a dog who still believes in love. Physically, Ivy carries the weight of a life spent giving more than she received. Her body shows signs of many litters, untreated medical conditions, and severe arthritis. When her pain became too much to ignore, a decision was made to give Ivy the care she so desperately needed — and she joined the MAGSR family.

One of our amazing senior foster families immediately stepped up, giving Ivy her very first taste of home: a comfortable household, soft beds, quiet spaces, and unconditional love. Despite her past, Ivy is gentle, affectionate, and slowly learning the joys of being a beloved companion. She enjoys short walks, tasty treats, and has recently discovered the magic of dog beds.

But Ivy's journey is far from over. Upon arrival, she was diagnosed with:

• Severe arthritis in her front left leg, causing her significant pain and lameness
• A skin infection requiring treatment before other procedures could take place
• Ulcerated tumors and masses on her chest and belly
• Underweight frame, which needed to be addressed before surgery could commence

This week, Ivy bravely underwent a complicated hysterectomy, had several masses removed, and began treatment to address her discomfort. Radiographs of her joins and chest were taken to determine the extent of her needs. Consultations with specialists also took place. At this time biopsy results are pending, and more invasive care may be needed. Despite everything, Ivy remains calm, loving, and endlessly patient — a true testament to her spirit. She is wearing her surgical pajamas like a champ, is adjusting to the cone and pro collar, and has been very patient when going through daily clean up and care. Ivy isn’t available for adoption just yet, but she will be — once she’s strong, healthy, and ready for the next chapter of her life.

Thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, Paul and his siblings were rescued just in time and brought to safety. While three of his siblings have already found their forever homes, Paul and his brother George are still waiting for theirs. Sweet Mama Sage found herself in an incredibly tough situation in the South after being surrendered to an overcrowded shelter - one where many dogs step in but never get the chance to step back out due to a lack of space. Fate, however, had other plans. As Sage arrived with a hidden surprise inside, a local rescue volunteer happened to be walking out. Recognizing the danger Sage faced, she immediately began networking this lovely girl, determined to give her a chance at a future. At the same time, MAGSR was already in conversations about another dog at the same shelter. Knowing Sage (and her special surprises) had no other options, our team made the decision that saving a few lives was better than saving one—and the girls joined the MAGSR family.

Upon arrival, our volunteers quickly discovered that Sage brought more than one little friend along - she brought nine! Sage was pregnant and due very soon. Knowing this little family would need a safe place to begin, one of our amazing fosters stepped forward and welcomed the Sage into her home. The family would multiply significantly within a couple weeks. Just before 2026 began, Sage welcomed nine furry babies to the world - the Nature Puppies (Brook, Wren, Terra, Briar, Moss, Timber, Hawk, Falcon, and Buckeye)! These little bundles of joy have been learning all about the world around them while under the watchful eye of their mother, Sage, and their incredible foster family. 

Unlike many babies who have joined the rescue family under very different circumstances, the Nature Puppies have had constant love, care, attention, and vetting since they were born. They have been learning social skills within a pack and have a good understanding of toys. Although these babies have had a loving start, it is critical that their forever families continue this process. Socialization with other people and animals in a variety of environments will be essential. Training will also be necessary for their success. Training will not only help the Nature puppies build a solid bond with their forever family, but it will also help these babies grow into good canine citizens. 

Although the Nature Puppies are beyond adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, routine, and training, we know each of the Nature Puppies will become loving members of their forever family. Worf spent his entire life with one family, growing up in a busy home filled with a large pack of dogs and a revolving door of at least six kids. He adored his family and thrived in the hustle and bustle, doing wonderfully with the children around him. As one of the more confident dogs in the pack, Worf understood structure, though he occasionally clashed with an older alpha dog. His family loved him deeply, but with so many moving parts in the home, they realized they couldn’t give Worf the individual attention he truly deserved. Making the incredibly difficult and selfless decision, they chose to seek rescue placement so he could have the opportunity to shine in a home of his own.

When Worf joined the MAGSR family, one thing was immediately clear — “that’s a lotta dog!” And it’s true… but it’s all wrapped up in affection for people. Worf is incredibly sweet in the home. Whether he’s lounging on the couch or proudly bringing you his favorite toy for a game of fetch, he just wants to be near his humans. He has been wonderful with visitors in his foster home and remains friendly and composed when meeting new people out on walks. Smart and eager, Worf already knows some basic commands and does best with structure, routine, and clear expectations. Continued training will not only strengthen his bond with his future family but also help him grow into an exceptional canine companion.

Sim is definitely not a couch potato. With this in mind, she is still working on understanding boundaries and can get herself into a bit of mischief. Sim has been known to chew on household items, dig in the yard or trash, and even counter surf for interesting objects (though not food!). She’s also quite the clever girl—when she needs to go outside, she’ll sometimes try to open doors herself by standing on her hind legs and turning the knob. She’s not crate trained yet and can’t have bedding or blankets, as she enjoys tearing them apart, but with time and guidance, she’ll learn what’s hers to play with. When provided with clear rules, routines, and structures, Sim will shine.

Pan and his five siblings were part of an accidental litter. Fortunately, their family recognized the importance of making sure the entire litter had the support and resources needed to succeed. Wanting the very best for all six little lives, they reached out to a local rescue group for help. The puppies were welcomed into rescue and began their journey toward finding forever homes. Several of Pan’s siblings quickly found their families, leaving this sweet boy still searching for his perfect match. Knowing that Pan would thrive in a breed-specific rescue, the group reached out to MAGSR for help. We knew right away that this handsome little guy would be a wonderful addition to the MAGSR family.

Pan is an exceptional puppy with a wonderful start to his training. He is already about 98% house trained and will politely whine to let you know when he needs to go outside. Pan is also crate trained and, for a puppy, has a slightly calmer and lower-energy personality than many puppies. Of course, he still enjoys playtime and puppy adventures, but he also has a sweet, easygoing side. This handsome boy truly loves everyone he meets. Like most puppies, Pan is playful and still learning boundaries as he grows. He has been well socialized with other dogs, cats, adults, and children, giving him a great foundation as he searches for his forever family.

Lovely Moiraine was picked up as a stray with her pup and brought to a local shelter. Although both dogs were clearly well-socialized and friendly, they sat at the shelter without anyone stepping forward to claim them. Knowing that they were special dogs who would be most successful if placed with a breed specific rescue, the shelter reached out to MAGSR for help. They found the perfect placement for the pup but needed a home for Moiraine. Too many momma's get left behind far too often. Team MAGSR knew that we would find Moiraine the perfect placement and give this marevelous momma a loving home of her very own. Without a second thought, we welcomed Moiraine to the MAGSR family.

Moiraine is the picture of a true German Shepherd — intelligent, loyal, and devoted to her people. This beautiful mama dog embodies everything that makes the breed so special: she’s protective yet gentle, confident yet affectionate, and always eager to please. Since joining the MAGSR family, Moiraine has had the opportunity to socialize with a variety of people and has constantly impressed us with her social personality. She's a quick learner who will thrive with continued training, structure, and clear boundaries - the kind of dog who blossoms when given purpose and guidance. In fact, Moiraine has already begun to develop her basic obedience with one of our amazing training partners. She is developing leash manners and basic commands. Although we do not know much about Moiraine's past, we do know her future is bright!

Elegant Everest was picked up as a stray in the South and brought to a local shelter, where staff patiently waited for her family to come claim her. Sadly, like so many others, Everest wasn’t one of the lucky pups who got to go home. When no one stepped forward, shelter staff began searching for the right placement, and for a moment it seemed Everest had finally found her forever family. But within two weeks, she was back—confused, heartbroken, and unsure what had gone wrong. Knowing Everest deserved a family who would truly commit to her, shelter staff reached out to breed-specific rescues for help. When our team learned she needed a safe option to move forward, we knew the MAGSR family was the right fit.

Everest is a friendly, sensitive girl who has bounced around more than any dog should. She adores being near her people and is wonderfully attentive, but her past experiences have left her a bit timid during introductions. Give her a little time, patience, and a few tasty treats, and her warm, affectionate personality begins to shine. While much of her past is unknown, it’s clear someone invested in her early socialization. Everest is unbothered by the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys being near both people and animals. She reads canine cues well and thrives in a pack environment. Already housebroken and crate trained, she has a solid start on the basics of living in a home. As with any newcomer, she’ll need time to adjust to her forever family’s routines, but she is eager to learn and aims to please.

Everest is highly food-motivated and loves both treats and praise. She sits politely when asked and is beginning to learn additional basic commands. Continued training will be essential to her confidence and success. It will also help Everest develop a healthy bond with her forever family. Medically, Everest arrived heartworm positive—a completely preventable condition had she been given proper monthly prevention. Thankfully, the diagnosis was made early, her treatment is underway, and she’s handling it with grace. She seems to understand that with just a bit more time and patience, she’ll be ready for a fresh start.

Sweet Mama Sage found herself in an incredibly tough situation in the South after being surrendered to an overcrowded shelter - one where many dogs step in but never get the chance to step back out due to a lack of space. Fate, however, had other plans. As Sage arrived with a hidden surprise inside, a local rescue volunteer happened to be walking out. Recognizing the danger Sage faced, she immediately began networking this lovely girl, determined to give her a chance at a future. At the same time, MAGSR was already in conversations about another dog at the same shelter. Knowing Sage (and her special surprises) had no other options, our team made the decision that saving a few lives was better than saving one—and the girls joined the MAGSR family.

Upon arrival, our volunteers quickly discovered that Sage brought more than one little friend along - she brought nine! Sage was pregnant and due very soon. Knowing this little family would need a safe place to begin, one of our amazing fosters stepped forward and welcomed the Sage into her home. The family would multiply significantly within a couple weeks. Just before 2026 began, Sage welcomed nine furry babies to the world - the Nature Puppies (Brook, Wren, Terra, Briar, Moss, Timber, Hawk, Falcon, and Buckeye)! These little bundles of joy have been learning all about the world around them while under the watchful eye of their mother, Sage, and their incredible foster family. 

Unlike many babies who have joined the rescue family under very different circumstances, the Nature Puppies have had constant love, care, attention, and vetting since they were born. They have been learning social skills within a pack and have a good understanding of toys. Although these babies have had a loving start, it is critical that their forever families continue this process. Socialization with other people and animals in a variety of environments will be essential. Training will also be necessary for their success. Training will not only help the Nature puppies build a solid bond with their forever family, but it will also help these babies grow into good canine citizens. 

Although the Nature Puppies are beyond adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, routine, and training, we know each of the Nature Puppies will become loving members of their forever family.
