Marvelous Maylee was found as a stray in the South and brought to a crowded shelter. Although it was clear she’d been well socialized with both people and other animals, no one ever came to claim her. With shepherds filling shelters and space running out, Maylee urgently needed a safe place to go. Thankfully, the staff saw how special she was and advocated for her. When we learned Maylee needed help and fast, our team stepped in to give this incredible girl the second chance she deserves.

Maylee is a smart, social, and eager-to-please young shepherd. Someone in her past clearly invested time in her—she’s treat-motivated, already knows several commands, and truly loves to work. Her ideal family will enjoy training and mental enrichment as much as she does. Like most shepherds, Maylee thrives when both her mind and body are exercised daily, which helps her feel confident, balanced, and happy. She’s very comfortable on leash and ready for any adventure: walks, hikes, or simply exploring the neighborhood. Maylee checks in with her handler often and takes direction beautifully. This is definitely a special little lady.

While we don’t know much about her past, we’re certain about her future: with patience, structure, and routine, Maylee will blossom. Meet handsome Tundra, one of the Winter Litter puppies who is seeking his forever family. The Winter Litter—Tundra, Glacier, and Frosty—joined the MAGSR family a few weeks ago after being rescued from a local cruelty and neglect situation. An advocate reached out to local law enforcement after discovering these puppies were living in conditions that were simply unimaginable. When they arrived, all three were severely emaciated, full of worms, missing patches of fur, and understandably unsure of new people. They urgently needed rescue placement to begin their journey toward safety and healing. Thanks to our incredible foster families, medications, structured feeding schedules, and strong veterinary support, all three puppies were welcomed into the safety of the MAGSR family.

Tundra is an adventurous, intelligent, and motivated young pup who thrives when both his mind and body are engaged. Like many puppies who lacked early structure, Tundra needed extra support to learn the basics of being a well-mannered boy. Our team quickly stepped in to meet those needs by providing a predictable environment with clear rules, boundaries, and expectations. With his strong desire to please and excellent food motivation, Tundra has taken enthusiastically to training. He is learning leash manners and basic commands and truly enjoys working with his people. He’s developing the skills he’ll need to become a confident, well-rounded canine citizen.

Handsome Joey was picked up as a stray in the south with a few other dogs. Fortunately, he was brought into the care of a southern rescue while they waited out his stray hold. When no one stepped forward for this sweet boy, the rescue began looking for an adoptive placement. Although Joey is clearly an incredible boy, with adoptions on the decline across the country and the number of dogs needing placement increasing, Joey was being looked over. Knowing this boy would be more successful in a different region, a plea for help with a rescue transfer was sent out. MAGSR was lucky to have an amazing foster home step forward for Joey so that he could move forward.

Joey is an absolute doll. As a stunning guy, he is already turning heads with his oversized ears, long tail, and joyful personality. It is clear that this guy was given opportunities to socialize with both people and dogs at some point along his journey which has resulted in a solid foundation. Typical for a young shepherd, Joey is both intelligent and active. He loves to run and play in the yard, enjoys goofing around with other dogs, and is beyond happy to join in on daily adventures. As he moves forward, it will be important that his forever family exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. This will help Joey maintain his impressive personality. Still developing basic commands and leash manners, training will go a long way with this boy. Not only will it help him develop a lasting bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen.

Chase was first welcomed into the MAGSR family many years ago. With his impressive personality and sweet soul, it didn’t take long for him to find a wonderful home, where he spent several happy years as a beloved family member. Unfortunately, as life sometimes changes despite everyone’s best efforts, Chase found himself needing MAGSR once again.

Chase grew up with two children, lived peacefully with the family cat, and had interactions with other dogs. When a new family member arrived, a serious medical condition developed that resulted in a severe allergy to Chase. His family did everything they could to manage the situation, but when it became clear that things would not improve, they made the incredibly difficult and selfless decision to return Chase to MAGSR so he could find a new home. At MAGSR, we protect our own. When Chase needed help, we ensured he had a safe and loving foster home where he could settle in comfortably while beginning the search for his next forever family.

Chase is a sweet, loving, and deeply devoted senior boy. He loves wholeheartedly and comes with a solid foundation thanks to years spent in a stable, nurturing home. He understands household routines, is housebroken, and is crate trained. As with any dog transitioning into a new environment, Chase will need a bit of time to adjust to the routines and expectations of his future family. A fan of the great outdoors, Chase enjoys daily opportunities to stretch his legs, soak up the sunshine, and simply enjoy life. Stella found her match several years ago. Her mom welcomed this extraordinary girl into her heart and never looked back. An incredible pair, Stella and her mom had a special understanding of each other. They enjoyed their days together on the farm. With fresh air, sunshine, and plenty of daily activities, Stella's world was filled with joy and love. When Stella's mom started getting sick, family members stepped in to help out. Stella found comfort in her family, but missed her mom. As things improved, the two were reunited and all seemed well with the world. Recently, it was determined that Stella's mom needed some extra help and would no longer be able to live independently. Recognizing that Stella could not move into a facility with her mom, a heartbreaking decision was made - Stella would need to be rehomed. Knowing we protect our own, her family called MAGSR and asked for help. We knew this was not an easy decision for Stella's family. But, we promised we would care for this senior lady and ensure she had everything she needed. 

Saying goodbye is never an easy option. We know that both Stella and her mom miss each other greatly. With such a significant change, Stella has been taking some time to take a breath and grieve. Welcomed into one of our senior foster homes, Stella's foster family is giving her time to adjust to her new surroundings. Soft blankets, comforting toys, and daily routine seems to be a welcome set-up. Daily time out in the fresh air also seems comforting. Stella has begun to check in with her foster parents regularly. A huge fan of a good head pat and attention on her terms, Stella is clear about her needs. Her foster family is always happy to give a head rub and some love. Very attuned to her environment, Stella likes to know what is happening around her and typically doesn't miss a beat. She is the perfect watchdog.  

As a senior pup, Stella takes her time moving from one place to another and requires some additional support to remain comfortable. Senior needs are often very different from our younger pups and typically entail additional vetting, medications, and supplements. Team MAGSR will ensure that Stella has everything she needs to remain safe and comfortable. Although Stella will always receive the care she needs, senior care can be expensive. Marlo is a stunning German Shepherd with a heart as big as his paws. He showed up at a country home down south and was reported as a stray, but when no one came for him, it became clear that Marlo was searching for something more—a family. He chose an incredibly kind home to visit and quickly showed what a wonderful dog he is. Marlo was great with the children, respectful of cats, and got along well with other dogs. One of his favorite things? The moment you approach him, he eagerly drops, rolls over, and offers his belly for scratches—clearly a professional at soaking up affection.

Although we don't know much about his past, it is clear that someone took the time to provide this boy with a solid foundation. Marlo is quiet and well-mannered in his crate and truly enjoys going for walks. Sadly, like many dogs from the south, Marlo is heartworm positive. The good news is that MAGSR covers all of his heartworm treatment, so his future family can focus on loving him and helping him heal. This boy is already moving forward with his care. Marlo will need to take it easy over the next few months while his body heals. However, as he is already a pro with the crate and responsive to the handler, Marlo is the perfect patient. Recognizing that both siblings deserved a chance to move forward, this rescue began addressing their medical needs and looking for a breed-specific rescue to help them find the right home. When asked if we could welcome them both into the MAGSR family, our team stepped forward and the rest is history.

Nova Sol is clearly a beautiful young pup. A sweet girl who loves attention and playtime, this baby easily wins over the hearts of everyone she meets. With a solid understanding of toys and a zest for life, Nova Sol fills her days with playtime, people time, doggy interactions, and endless cuddles. Striking Sarge, like so many dogs, found himself in a large, overcrowded shelter—unsure where things had gone wrong on his journey. The staff cared deeply and wanted the best for this big-hearted guy, but with limited resources, nationwide drops in adoptions, and an overwhelming number of dogs arriving daily, they simply couldn’t keep up. They knew Sarge deserved more than they could offer, so they began reaching out to rescues up and down the coast in hopes of finding him a safe place to land. Fortunately, when one of our sister rescues received the call for help, Sarge’s story made its way to MAGSR. Our team knew we couldn’t leave this boy behind. Working closely with local groups, shelter volunteers, and transporters, we ensured Sarge made his way safely into the MAGSR family. Sometimes, teamwork truly makes all the difference for a dog in need.

Although Sarge was already known as a big boy, our team quickly realized he wasn’t quite big enough. With ribs showing, a dull coat in need of vitamins, and a good bath overdue, we jumped right in to give him the care he needed to move forward. Through it all, Sarge showed us what a friendly, social guy he is—already comfortable with both people and other dogs. Sarge has a solid foundation, and it’s important that his forever family continue to build on it as he settles into his new home. Food-motivated and eager to please, he loves practicing his commands and happily works for tasty treats. He learns quickly, and with consistent training, he will continue to shine. Sarge is still working on his leash manners and, if given the chance, will gladly pull you along for the ride. Training will be a game changer for this handsome boy—helping him become a well-mannered adult shepherd while strengthening the bond with his new family.

Although it’s clear someone loved Sarge at some point and invested in his early training, we don’t know anything about his past. Like any new dog, he will need time, patience, and a clear routine to help him settle in. Structure and leadership will help him thrive. Highly intelligent and observant, Taffy notices everything around her. She loves adults but struggles around small children. Without a high prey drive, she did well when tested with a cat; in fact, she was more afraid of the cat than anything else. Woody comes to us under heartbreaking circumstances after his beloved dad passed away. He was deeply loved and well cared for, and it shows in his gentle spirit and joyful nature. Not all babies are born into loving homes where they have everything they need to thrive. Some start off well but things go south as they get a little older. Luckily cutiepie Archer Blaze and his sister, Nova Sol, were babies who knew kindness early on as they found themselves in another rescue at just ~8 weeks old. Recognizing that both siblings deserved a chance to move forward, this rescue began addressing their medical needs and looking for a breed-specific rescue to help them find the right home. When asked if we could welcome this guy into the MAGSR family, our team stepped forward and the rest is history. 

Archer Blaze is clearly a handsome young pup. A sweet boy who loves attention and playtime, this baby easily wins over the hearts of everyone he meets. With a solid understanding of toys and a zest for life, Archer Blaze fills his days with playtime, people time, doggy interactions, and endless cuddles. Goose is one of those lucky pups whose life could have gone very differently — but thanks to a series of kind hearts and perfect timing, he's safe, loved, and ready for his forever home.

Goose’s journey started before he was even born. His mom, a stray in the South, was found starving and alone. Thankfully, an incredible family took her in, tried everything to find her original home, and when no one came forward, gave her the safety and love she so desperately needed. Just weeks later, she surprised everyone with eight beautiful puppies — Goose being one of them. Goose and his siblings were raised in a warm, loving home with their mom. One by one, his brothers and sisters found homes... and Goose waited. Knowing he deserved a bright future, the family reached out to MAGSR, and a wonderful foster family stepped in to help him take his next steps.

Goose is sweet, curious, and full of potential. He’s great with other dogs and is learning all about the comforts of home life: toys, treats, cozy beds, and couch cuddles. He’s had some exposure to new people and places, but continued socialization will be essential to helping him grow into a confident, well-rounded adult. Like all puppies, Goose will need time, training, and patience. He may chew, have accidents, or get into mischief — but with structure and love, he’ll reward you with a lifetime of loyalty and affection.

Meet fabulous Frosty from the Winter Litter! This adorable baby is ready to find his forever family. The **Winter Litter—Tundra, Glacier, and Frosty—**joined the MAGSR family a few weeks ago after being rescued from a local cruelty and neglect situation. An advocate reached out to local law enforcement after discovering these puppies were living in conditions that were simply unimaginable. When they arrived, all three were severely emaciated, full of worms, missing patches of fur, and understandably unsure of new people. They urgently needed rescue placement to begin their journey toward safety and healing. Thanks to our incredible foster families, prescribed medications, structured feeding schedules, and strong veterinary support, all three puppies were welcomed into the safety of the MAGSR family.

Frosty is a loving, playful, and intelligent young pup who thrives when both his mind and body are engaged. Like many puppies who lacked early structure, Frosty has benefited greatly from an experienced foster home that has begun teaching him the ins and outs of living in a home environment. Crate training and housebreaking were first on the list, and Frosty has been doing a wonderful job learning these important skills.

Living in an established pack has also given Frosty the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills and understand pack structure—an essential foundation for his long-term success. With a strong desire to please and excellent food motivation, Frosty has begun learning basic expectations. Continued training and consistent opportunities to learn will help him grow into a confident, well-rounded canine citizen. While Frosty is undeniably adorable, it’s important to remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics.
