Heartland

Handsome Heartland was picked up as a stray by another rescue. Although they contacted the local shelter and tried to find his family, no one came to claim this sweetheart. Fortunately, Heartland had a safe place to stay while he waited for his forever family. Although Heartland was well cared for by the other rescue, they felt that Heartland would have his best chance at finding a family in another region. As a result, MAGSR was asked to help Heartland move forward, we were happy to help this sweet guy move forward.
Heartland is a social guy. He enjoys the company of other dogs and people. Participating regularly in a playgroup while waiting to arrive in MAGSR's care, Heartland is simply a social butterfly. Although we know Heartland is a neat guy, we do not know if he has ever lived in a household. In many ways he is starting with a clean slate. As is true of all young dogs, Heartland will benefit from structure, routine, and leadership. This will help him adjust to his new household. Heartland will also benefit from training as this will help him bond to his new family, as well as, develop into a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, Heartland is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if he had been given monthly heartworm prevention. at this time Heartland is already halfway through his treatment. Although treatment is expensive, sweet heartland is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating to Heartland's treatment. Your generosity will help us save him and other dogs with medical needs. Although Heartland is taking it easy right now, he will be back to full strength in a little over a month. If your household is looking for a social butterfly, ask to meet Heartland today.
Izzy Bee

Izzy Bee and her brother, Asher, were well-loved members of their family. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, Izzy Bee and Asher's family was not able to continue to care for them. As a result, they made the difficult decision to surrender both dogs to MAGSR. We promised Izzy Bee and Asher's family that we would find them an amazing forever home that would care for them for a lifetime.
Izzy Bee is a friendly girl. She enjoys the company of her people and other dogs. Having grown up with Asher, Izzy Bee has grown accustomed to the presence of another dog. However, she would also do well as the only dog in the household so that she can enjoy all of the attention. Izzy Bee lived on a large piece of land and enjoyed romping and playing about outside. Although Izzy Bee loves to be outside, she hasn't had a lot of experience on a leash. Our volunteers have already begun teaching Izzy some leash manners. However, she will benefit from further training with her new family. Training will not only help Izzy bond to her new family but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Izzy Bee is looking for a loving family that will provide her with the structure, leadership, and routine that all dogs crave. Annika was returned to MAGSR's care after incidents with the other dog of the household, as well as the cat. She will be looking for a forever family where she can be the sole animal in the home to be the center of attention.
Annika is a beautiful young adult with a big personality. She is extremely intelligent and observant of her environment. She also forms strong bonds with her humans and is very affectionate. Annika will be protective of the house once she sees it as her place. She will thrive with a confident handler and structured training to bring out her potential, because she lives for meaningful interactions with her people. She is active and a jumper, and may be a candidate for agility training or other activities that engage her intelligence.
She loves tummy rubs and affection, walks, and interactive games. She learns quickly when pepperoni treats are on hand, and will even play a good game of hide and seek the treat. Annika likes her crate and is fully house trained. She walks well on the leash, learns commands quickly, loves car rides and exploring new environments like trails and parks.

Updates:Annika continues to practice and learn commands - including sit, stay, lie down, go to bed (she runs into her crate), go find (hide and seek treats), and when waiting for the walk signal at intersections she’ll sit with a snap of the fingers. With a few taps to your shoulder she’ll snuggle up and fall asleep. She loves her humans and is forever ready for a walk, demonstrating excellent leash walking manners (until a squirrel crosses her path, but who could blame her for wanting to catch one?). She has no problem meeting other dogs on walks, she simply doesn’t wish to live with them. Annika is thoroughly house trained, staying at home for hours on her own snoozing on the couch until it’s time to greet you at the door with eager tail wags.
Jasmine

Stunning Jasmine was surrendered to a local shelter as her family fell on hard times and could no longer care for her. They surrendered her to the shelter hoping that Jasmine would find a forever family that could care for her for a lifetime. As many shelters are overcrowded right now, shelter staff felt that Jasmine would have her best chance at finding the perfect forever family if she was transferred to a rescue.
Jasmine is in many ways your young, goofy, energetic shepherd. She greatly enjoys the company of her people and already knows a few commands. As is true of any young dog, Jasmine will thrive with training and consistency. Not only does Jasmine enjoy the company of people, she also enjoys the company of other dogs. It is evident that her family worked hard to make sure she was appropriately socialized. Jasmine's new family will need to continue to provide her with opportunities to socialize in a variety of environments as this will help her further develop into a stable and confident adult dog. Harley

Harley has been a cherished member of her family for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Harley's family was no longer able to provide her with the life that they knew she deserved. Recognizing that Harley deserved more than they could give, her family made the difficult decision to return her to MAGSR. We promised Harley's family that we would find her a loving and safe forever home.
Harley is a sweet and affectionate girl. She has the benefit of living in a home where she has been socialized with kids, cats, and other dogs. In fact, Harley has had the opportunity to participate in regular doggy day care field trips for several years and absolutely loves these days. She can't help but get excited around other dogs, that's just what social butterflies do. As Harley's family knew they wanted the best for her, they made sure she learned her commands and even added in a few tricks. Harley has a solid understanding of the leash and enjoys her daily outings. Although Harley has a solid foundation already, it will be important that her new family take her to training. This will not only help her further brush up on her skills but it will also help her bond to her new family. We are sure that Harley will be the star of the class. Having lived in a household, Harley understands the rules of living in a home. She is housebroken and crate trained. Her crate is her happy space and Harley can often be found in it snuggled up and either napping or just hanging out. Harley is looking for a family that will continue to cherish her and provide her with the love and attention she so clearly deserves.
