Tia
ADOPTED 05/29/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sally and her Cars Puppies were rescued in the south by another group. As they wanted to do right by this lovely family, they began reaching out to other groups who would be able to support the family until they were ready to find forever homes of their own. When asked to welcome this family into the MAGSR family, we immediately said yes.
Tia is a bundle of energy and joy. She is cute as a button and brings happiness to everyone around her. Well socialized in her foster home, Tia is a match for a household with kids, cats, or other dogs. Although Tia's foster family has given her an excellent start, it is imperative that they continue to keep Tia well socialized. This will help her develop into a stable adult. Although Tia is absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics, they get into things, and they will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, and training, Tia will develop into the good canine citizen that we know she is destined to become. If this little girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Moose
ADOPTED 05/29/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Moose lived with a family. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide him with basic vetting care which resulted in Moose contracting parvo. As this horrifying disease takes so many lives too soon, Moose needed help and fast. Although Moose's family loved him, they could not afford his care and brought him to a shelter. Fortunately, the shelter found the resources to get Moose the life saving care he needed. Having overcome the odds, shelter staff knew that Moose deserved a loving forever home. When they reached out to MAGSR for help, we immediately stepped forward.
Moose is a love. However, he was undersocialized in his previous home. As a result, Moose needs a little time to warm up to new people and new situations. Socialization is critical as it helps build stable and confident dogs. Moose's forever family will need to provide him with opportunities to learn about the world around him. Training will be key to Moose's success. Not only will it help him bond to his new family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. With patience, structure, and routine, Moose will thrive. If you are looking for a playful guy, ask to meet Moose today.
Layla
ADOPTED 05/29/2021!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 10
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Lovely Layla was cherished by her family. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer care for her. Recognizing that she deserved a loving household that could provide her with the time, attention, and training she needs to meet with success, they made the difficult decision to surrender her. We promised Layla's family that we would find her the perfect forever home.
Layla is in many ways your typical GSD. She is intelligent, energetic, and looking for guidance. Having lived in a household, Layla understands many of the ins and outs of living in a home. However, as is true of any new home, she will need time to adjust in her forever home. Layla has been socialized with kids and other dogs. She will continue to benefit from slow, proper introductions as this will give her the opportunity to build healthy relationships. As is true of all GSDs, Layla will also benefit greatly from training. Not only will this help her bond to her new family, but it will also help her develop into a confident canine citizen. If your household is ready for this lovely lady, ask to meet her today!
Kaito
ADOPTED 05/27/2021!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 12
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Kaito's family loved him dearly. However, due to a sudden change in circumstances, they were no longer able to care for him. As Kaito's family wanted him to find a safe and loving forever home, they surrendered him to a rescue.
Kaito is a big, interactive, and energetic guy. Having previously lived in a busy household with small dogs and older kids, Kaito enjoys the company of others. However, he is a big guy so he would be best suited for older children. Kaito is social and enjoys the company of other people; however, he needs time to adjust to new people. He is responsive to calm and confident handlers. Kaito's family clearly did a nice job giving him opportunities to socialize with other dogs and meet with success in new situations. Kaito, just like all GSDs, will thrive when provided with structure, leadership, and routine. Food and toy motivated, Kaito loves to learn new skills and will be a star in training class. Starting training with Kaito will help him not only bond with his new family, but it will also help him develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to be. Kaito is looking for a forever family that will provide him with a safe and loving forever home as well as a lot of belly rubs. Could that be with you?
Updates:Kaito is thriving in his foster home! He has proven to be a happy go lucky boy who loves the company of other dogs and humans. He finds solace in his crate and will go in there just to relax with the door left open. He sleeps through the night quietly in his crate and waits patiently in the morning to be let outside to potty. He takes treats gently and has not shown any food or toy aggression. At first Kaito did not know how to do the steps in the house but is such a smart boy that in a 24 hours period had them mastered with some coaxing with cheese. He loves to run around the yard with the other dogs and is learning how to play fetch. He loves things that squeak and is especially fond of his pink ball and orange chicken. In the house he will play with his stuffed toys by tossing them in the air and trying to catch them or dropping them in your lap for you to throw. Speaking of lap he thinks he is a lap dog and will try to squeeze into whatever space you give him. From time to time he may require a stern no if he gets overly excited and starts mouthing which has improved greatly in his time in a foster home. He loves to be pet and while doing so he will slowly slink down your leg and onto his back for belly rubs. He engages politely with the other 2 resident dogs and is learning how to play with them. Kaito is welcoming to people who come in the house but from a distance will bark to let them know he is there protecting the house. Since Kaito is a big boy and strong he will need someone who can handle him. Kaito wants nothing more than to find a family to share his joy and love with. Ask to meet Kaito today!
Murphy
ADOPTED 05/22/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Murphy was found hanging out at a high school with his buddy Millie. Both dogs were brought to a shelter where they waited for a family to claim them. When no one came forward, the shelter staff started pleading for rescue support as they were at capacity. Who could say no to such sweet dogs?
Murphy is a playful and energetic guy. He is friendly and good with both people and other dogs. However, he can be vocal with new dogs when first meeting them. As a young guy, Murphy has energy to burn and will do best in a home that can exercise his mind and his body on a daily basis. Arriving as a stray, we do not know what Murphy knows about living in a household. However, he seems to be a quick learner who wants to please his handler. As is true of all dogs, Murphy will thrive when provided with guidance, leadership, and consistency. Training will help him adjust to his new family as well as develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Murphy is looking for a forever family that will love and care for him for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
