Description

Lovely little Tazanna was living with a young woman who loved her but couldn't provide her with the care she needed. Recognizing that this was not fair to Tazanna, her owner surrendered her to another rescue so that Tazanna would have the chance at the life and love that she deserved. Although this was a difficult decision, Tazanna's mom knew that this was in Tazanna's best interest. We welcomed Tazanna into the MAGSR family as it was felt she would be most successful in another region.

Tazanna is a lovely little girl. As is true of many dogs that have lacked opportunities to socialize, Tazanna can be timid with new people and in new situations. However, when given a little time, she warms up nicely. Although her foster family is working with Tazanna to further develop her socialization skills, it will be critical that her forever family continue this process. A well-socialized puppy will develop into a stable adult. Already crate trained, Tazanna is making excellent strides toward becoming housebroken. She is also learning some basic commands and has already learned sit and come. This smart girl will be a joy in training class. Training will not only help Tazanna bond to her new family but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Good with cats and dogs, Tazanna enjoys her furry companions. However, as a puppy, she still does some chasing. As she loves to play ball, Tazanna's foster family will be working with her to redirect that chasing to toys and balls. Tazanna is looking for a forever family that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?

Description

Handsome Igor was picked up as a stray in the south. Although he was brought to a shelter where he waited for his family, no one came to claim him. Due to overcrowding at the shelter, Igor needed to get out and fast. When asked if we could help Igor move forward, MAGSR immediately stepped forward.

Igor is in many ways your typical young shepherd. He is young, playful, energetic and a complete goofball. It is very evident that somewhere along the way Igor was socialized with people and other dogs. However, it is evident that he has yet to develop his doggy manners. As a big guy, it is essential that Igor have the opportunity to develop these manners early on with his new family. Training will go a long way with this big guy as it will not only help Igor bond to his new family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. As Igor arrived as a stray, we do not know if he has had the opportunity to live in a household. In many ways he is starting from a clean slate. Like all young shepherds, Igor will thrive in a household where he has structure, routine, and leadership. If this big, sweet guy sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today.

Description

The young and vibrant Charlotte was dumped on a country road with her 7 puppies. Charlotte is still a giant puppy herself at just over a year old. This sweet little family was taken to an overcrowded animal shelter where they waited to be claimed. When no one arrived to bring them home, a plea went out for help. We knew this little family deserved the comfort and safety of a home and MAGSR stepped up to help.

Charlotte is friendly with everyone she meets including people and other dogs. At this early stage of her adult life she needs to work on her basic obedience and house manners. She will likely need to learn the ins and outs of living in the comfort and safety of a household. With structure, patience, and leadership, we know that Charlotte will thrive. Training will be a critical piece of Charlotte's transition as it will help her bond to her forever family while also building the stability and confidence she needs to become a good canine citizen. If this sweet girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.

Updates:
Charlotte is adjusting well to living in a house.  She is crate trained and housebroken.  She loves running and playing with her foster fur siblings. We are working on house manners every day!  Charlotte can recall her to her name and sit (for treats of course!) She enjoys car rides and belly rubs !!

Description

From about six months of age until February, 2021, every day of Ruger‘s life followed the same neglectful routine - chained up to a pin in the ground outside of her owner’s home. This routine lasted about 16 hours of every day; the other eight hours were spent in a crate in the basement of her owner’s home. Unfortunately, this routine never changed and never included any human interaction, play time, positive interaction, or attention. Ruger was never socialized to other dogs nor did she receive any veterinary care. Her life consisted of a chain, food, water and a small igloo for shelter. When her owner broke his hip, neighbors who had witnessed this horrible neglect took action. They stepped in to have Ruger surrendered and quickly removed from the life she had been living. Ruger went from living on a chain to living in a home with people who would begin to meet her needs.

Despite her past, Ruger is a loving dog particularly, once she has had a chance to adjust to her people and surroundings. Although she is an adult, she acts and plays very much like a puppy. This is largely due to the fact that she never had an opportunity to play prior to her rescue in February. Now that she has had the opportunity to learn about toys, Ruger is a big fan. One of her favorite activities is playing with rope toys and thrashing them back-and-forth. In addition to toys, Ruger has become a big proponent of riding in her foster family's RTV. She is an excellent passenger. She even uses the RTV when her foster family is outside doing yard work as she loves to lay in the seats and soak up the sun.

Having lived in a loving household since the late winter, Ruger has had the opportunity to learn some of the ins and outs of living in a household. She understands many of the rules of living in a home but will need to fine tune those skills to meet the routines of her forever family. Ruger will thrive in a household where she has consistency, structure and routine. Although Ruger has participated in obedience training and knows many commands, she will need to continue training with her new family. Training will not only help her bond with her new family, but it will also help her develop into the stable adult we know she is destined to become. Ruger is looking for a loving home that will care for her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?

Description

Lovely Alice was picked up as a stray in the south and brought to a shelter. Although she waited patiently for her family to come and claim her, no one came up to bring her home. Due to unprecedented issues with overcrowding, the shelter staff knew that Alice would need rescue support to make it out alive. When asked if we could help Alice find a safe and loving forever home, MAGSR immediately stepped forward.

Alice is a friendly and loving girl. She does well with humans and people. As an adult dog who must have had some socialization, Alice is stable and confident in her personality. Unfortunately, we do not know anything about Alice's past so in many ways she is starting fresh with her new family. This lovely lady will thrive in an environment where she has structure, routine, and leadership. Training will also go a long way with Alice as it will not only help her bond to her new family but it will also help her further develop into a good canine citizen. Unfortunately, we have learned that Alice is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if Alice had been provided with monthly preventatives. We have already started treatment and Alice is doing well. The cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive but this sweet girl is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Alice's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Alice will need to take it slow over the next few months while she undergoes treatment, she will be back up to full speed soon. Alice is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the love, safety, and structure that she so clearly deserves. If she sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today.

Updates:
Alice is loving living with her fosters, it is reported she is a big snuggle bunny who loves attention.  Alice can be a little shy when first meeting people, but she warms up quickly.  If you are looking for a sweet girl, who just wants to please her humans then this girl is for you.
