Carlton
ADOPTED 06/24/2023!
Good With Kids: Likely

Our newest babies - Sam, Ellie, Carlton, Blue, and Eugene - were found too small and without a mommy. Babies really need to be with mom until at least eight weeks. This gives them a chance to access the nutrition, love, and social foundation needed to meet with success. As luck would have it, a dog in the area, Madison, was having a hysterical pregnancy and was ready to step in and help these babies in need. Madison did an incredible job fostering her babies and taught them everything she could before sending them on their way to their adoptive families. We will forever be grateful to Madison and her human mom for stepping in and making miracles happen.
All five babies have been well-loved and cared for. Over time, they have developed their own special personalities. Carlton is the goofiest of the puppies. He keeps everyone happy and his little eyes simply dance with merriment. A huge fan of food, this boy is always happy to chow down and keeps his belly full at all times. Although Carlton is a love bug, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your world with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, and training, Carlton will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to become. If this merry little guy sounds like the right match for your family. Ask to meet him today!

All five babies have been well-loved and cared for. Over time, they have developed their own special personalities. Sam (also lovingly known as Dippy) was the runt of the litter. She is the floppiest of the group. She is sweet, affectionate, and talkative. She will easily fill her forever home with giggles and joy. Although Sam is a love, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your world with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, and training, Sam will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. If this floppy little girl sounds like the right match for your family. All five babies have been well-loved and cared for. Over time, they have developed their own special personalities. Ellie was a momma's girl from day one. She adored Madison and cuddled with her until she left for her forever family. Ellie likes to get in the middle of everything and stir up the fun. It also seems that she has gotten those "puppy eyes" down pat when corrected for being too rowdy. Someone needs to know when to turn the charm on and off. Although Ellie is a hoot, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your world with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, and training, Ellie will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. If this social little girl sounds like the right match for your family. Peanut
ADOPTED 06/24/2023!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16

The Kentucky Six - Diego, Champ, Serena, Peanut, Evie, and Yogi - are cruelty and neglect survivors. Living in inhumane conditions, starved, and used as breeding stock, the Kentucky Six managed to make it off the property alive when the right people heard about their conditions and got the authorities involved. All six dogs were confiscated and brought to a shelter where they waited for the chance to find kind and loving families of their very own. Although shelter staff worked hard to make sure that all six dogs began getting the care and attention they deserved, they recognized that with shelters at capacity and adoptions limited, these six precious souls may not have the chance to find their forever families. They began working with local groups and started networking the dogs in hopes that rescue placement would be found. Fortunately, their message made its way to MAGSR. Our incredible team knew that this group of dogs was very special, so we began putting plans in place to welcome the Kentucky Six to the MAGSR family.
Although Peanut's life was filled with endless challenges and suffering prior to her confiscation, she remains loving and affectionate. With a gentle demeanor and sweet personality, she easily wins over everyone who meets her. Really, who could say no to those lovely eyes? Although she has endured a lot of suffering throughout the years, Peanut's demeanor remains stable and lovable. Sometimes we are simply astonished by the resilience of dogs that have been through so much trauma but are still friendly and interactive. As is true of all shepherds, Peanut will thrive when provided with structure, routine, and leadership. In many ways she is still in the beginning stages of her new life. She will need time to adjust to new people, environments, and expectations. However, given patience and opportunities to learn, we are sure that Peanut will continue to discover the joys of being a beloved member of a family. We do not know if Peanut has had much experience living in a household. Clear rules and boundaries will help her settle into her new home. Training will also go a long way for this lovely lady. Not only will training help Peanut develop a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have learned that all of the Kentucky Six are heartworm positive. This could have easily been avoided with a monthly heartworm preventative. Peanut is just beginning treatment. However, she is already handling her protocol like a pro. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, MAGSR will cover the entire cost of Peanut's medical treatment. Please consider donating to Peanut's care as it will not only help Peanut continue to move forward, but it will also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs. Peanut is looking for a forever family that will cherish her for a lifetime. If this amazing lady sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet her today!
Sage
ADOPTED 06/19/2023!
Good With Kids: Yes

We would like to introduce Sage; a stunningly beautiful, bouncy, 7 month old sable. Unfortunately, her previous family was unaware of the requirements of a GSD puppy, and made a difficult decision to surrender her so she could live her best life. With that being said, Sage wasn’t properly socialized with other dogs or humans, and as a result, is terrified of most things. In order to help give her the best chance, Sage will be receiving some training to help her rebuild her confidence.
As we get to know Sage, it is clear she will need time to decompress and onboard some training that will help build her confidence. We know she will end up being an incredible, loyal and loving companion, but will need to be placed with a person or family that is either familiar with German Shepherds or is eager to learn about the temperament of the breed while providing the essentials - training, structure, boundaries, routines, and continued guidance.
If Sage sounds like the adventure you would like to blaze trails with, please ask to add her to your family today!
