Jesibel and her four sisters -  Jesalyn, Jesamine, Jesenya, and Jesirae - were found by a good samaritan on the side of the road. Thinking these babies were likely dumped, this kind person collected them all and brought them to an animal clinic to make sure they were safe and healthy. Once medically cleared the pups were taken to a shelter to wait out their stray hold. Although these girls are playful and interactive, the shelter is no place for babies. When asked if we could help these little ladies move forward, we immediately made arrangements to welcome them into the MAGSR family.

Arrow's family had him since he was a puppy. He grew up with regular socialization with people and children. Although his family loved him greatly, they recognized that they could no longer provide him with the time, care, and exercise that he deserved. As a result, they made the difficult decision to surrender him to MAGSR. We promised Arrow's family that we would find him a safe and loving forever home.

Arrow is a big, beautiful boy. At close to 100lbs, Arrow is a large guy with a good amount of energy. Born into a litter where several of his siblings moved into working positions, Arrow is driven and intelligent. A typical ball dog, Arrow is more than happy to make sure that your throwing arm is in good shape. It is essential that his forever family make sure that they exercise Arrow's body and mind daily. This routine will help him effectively burn his energy. Although Arrow already knows several commands, training will be essential with his forever family. Not only will training help Arrow bond to his new family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. Sweet and Spunky Talon was picked up as a stray. Although animal services waited for her family to come and claim her, no one stepped forward. Recognizing that a shelter is no place for a puppy, staff reached out to MAGSR to see if we could welcome this wiggly girl into the rescue. Really, who could resist that sweet face. Talon is your typical puppy - curious, energetic, and playful. She is a confident girl who enjoys the company of people and other dogs. However, as is true of all puppies, she is still learning what is and is not appropriate. Although Talon is an absolute love, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Jodie and her siblings, Anna and Teddy Bear, were brought to a shelter when their owner passed away. Unfortunately, it was apparent that their owner had been struggling to care for these dogs for a while. Fearful and avoidant in the shelter environment, this little family needed out and fast. Knowing we could provide this family with the life and love they deserve, MAGSR welcomed them to the family.

Jodie is a sweet little lady but she is timid. Somewhat hand-shy, Jodie does well with a patient handler who will give her time to trust. Once comfortable, she warms up for love and attention. A big fan of kisses, Jodie is affectionate and cuddly with her people. Due to the condition in which she arrived, Jodie has needed a little extra TLC. She arrived sick with an URI and dirty from lack of care. Fortunately, our amazing vetting partners were able to help Jodie get the relief she needed. With time, patience, and a little support, Jodie is making steady progress. Jodie will thrive in a household that will provide structure, routine, and patience. Unfortunately, we have discovered that Jodie is heartworm positive. This condition could have been avoided had she been provided monthly heartworm preventatives. We have already begun Jodie's treatment. The cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but this lovely girl is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Jodie's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Jodie will need to take it slow over the next few months while she undergoes treatment, this will give her time to adjust to her new environment and meet with success in her forever home. Bridget and her buddy, Keagan, were surrendered to a shelter. The family did not provide the shelter with a reason for the surrender. However, once in their care, it became clear to shelter staff that these two dogs had not always been treated kindly. Timid and unsure, both dogs can be fearful with new people and situations. However, given time and support, both Bridget and Keagan have shown that they are sweet dogs. Although shelter staff enjoyed both dogs, they recognized that Bridget and Keagan would have their best chance at finding their forever families if they were placed in a breed specific rescue. We were more than happy to welcome both dogs into the MAGSR family. 

Briget is a lovely girl. However, she is shy and skittish with new people and in new situations. Her forever family will need to keep a close eye on Bridget as she adjusts to her new life and household. Having likely been mistreated in her previous home, Bridget is a little head-shy and will need her new family to be patient and go slow with her. A stable environment with clear routines and structure will go a long way with this girl. She will thrive with structure, leadership, and love. As is true of all dogs, it is critical that Bridget participate in training with her new family. Training will not only help Bridget develop the confidence she needs to become a stable adult, but it will also help her create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family. Mazie and Sadie were well-loved members of their family. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of their control, the girls' family needed to find them a new home. MAGSR was honored to step-up and provide Mazie and Sadie with a safe haven while we looked for the perfect forever for these girls. 

Mazie is a special girl. Her family welcomed her home after a breeder considered putting her down after being born with a congenital defect. Although Mazie required a little extra time and support, she was welcomed home to a family that taught her how to walk, play, and interact just like any other dog. Mazie is a little confused by all of the changes in her life. As a result, she needs a little extra time to warm up to new people. However, when provided with leadership and guidance, Mazie warms up to new people and leans in for affection.

Handsome Luca was seen being dumped out of a car a few weeks ago. The good Samaritan that witnessed this act had to make a quick decision - follow the person that dumped Luca or get Luca to safety. Fortunately, Luca's safety was top priority. He was quickly picked-up and brought into the comfort of the good Samaritan's home until animal services could get involved. Once animal services took over, Luca was able to get the care he needed while waiting for a decision about his next placement. Although Luca did well while waiting for his stray hold to end, animal services knew that this big guy would be best placed in a rescue where a GSD savvy home could be found. When asked to welcome Luca into the MAGSR family, we immediately stepped forward. 

Luca means bringer of light. This name is quite fitting for this guy as this big, silly, playful guy keeps you smiling with his antics. Luca is a very large boy with a very large personality. He is looking for an experienced household as he portrays some strong GSD traits. As is true of all young shepherds, Luca will benefit from a household that will provide him with the structure, routine, and leadership that shepherds crave. Food and ball motivated, Luca is more than happy to work for treats and attention. In fact, this boy has already begun to learn a few basic commands. Luca knows sit, paw, and down. He also knows to out the ball when asked. Training is essential as Luca needs to learn to trust that this forever family will commit to him for a lifetime. Ralph is a big, handsome, social guy. He likes dogs of varied sizes and has clearly been well socialized. As Ralph is still very young, it is critical that his forever family continue to socialize him appropriately. This will help him develop into a stable dog. As a playful guy, Ralph is looking for an active household that will exercise both his mind and his body on a daily basis. As we do not know anything about Ralph's past, in many ways he is a clean slate. He will benefit from structure, routine, and leadership. Ralph's family will need to make sure that he gets into training early. This will help Ralph bond to his forever family; it will also help him develop the skills and confidence he will need to become a good canine citizen. 

Unfortunately, we have learned that Ralph is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided if he had been provided with monthly heartworm prevention. MAGSR is beginning Ralph's heartworm treatment. Although treatment is expensive, sweet Ralph is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Ralph's treatment. Your generosity will help us save him and other dogs with medical needs. Although Ralph will need to take it slow over the next few months, he will be back to full strength once his treatment is finished.

Covered in ringworm, emaciated, and clearly not well cared for, this little family needed help and quickly. Fortunately, a good samaritan found this family and got them to the safety of a shelter. Although shelter staff did a wonderful job getting this family the help they needed, they knew that moms and puppies do not belong in a shelter environment. As a result, a rescue plea went out. When we heard that this little family needed help, MAGSR immediately stepped forward. 

Jill's loving, affectionate, and playful. She is everything that a puppy should be. Although this little girl is a doll, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. Lovely Katie Ann was picked up as a stray and sheltered by another rescue while they waited for her stray hold. Unfortunately, no one came forward to claim this lovely girl. Although they enjoyed their time with Katie Ann, the rescue caring for her felt that she would be most likely to find her forever family if she moved into a breed specific rescue. When asked if we could help Katie Ann take the next step toward her forever home, MAGSR immediately stepped forward.

Katie Ann is an affectionate and friendly girl especially with her people. She greatly enjoys the company of the people within her sphere and seems to understand the ins and outs of living with a family. However, as is true with most shepherds, Katie Ann will overbond if given the opportunity. This can cause her to become overprotective of her people, her property, and her home. In order to meet with success, Katie Ann is looking for an experienced household that will work with her to develop a healthy relationship. Boundaries and clear expectations are very helpful to her success. Katie Ann will thrive with routine, leadership, and structure. Training will also go a long way with this lovely girl. Not only will training help Katie Ann bond to her forever family, but it will also help her develop into a good and stable canine citizen. Katie Ann has already begun to learn some basics with our volunteers, but she will flourish with continued training. Although Katie Ann can be walked calmly in areas with other dogs, she is looking for a home where she is the only dog. Best placed with a confident handler, Katie Ann is looking for an active family that will commit to her for a lifetime. Lovely Koda was adopted out as a young adult. She lived in a household with young children and a cat. Although she did well with everyone in the household, Koda's family could no longer care for her. As a result, they surrendered her to a shelter. Knowing Koda was a MAGSR dog, the shelter called us to let us know that they had Koda in their care. We immediately asked to bring Koda back into the MAGSR family. 

Koda is a lovely lady. She is sweet and affectionate. Having lived in a household prior to her return, Koda understands many of the ins and outs of living in a home; however, she will need a little time to adjust to the expectations in her forever family's home. Koda has lived with a cat but has been known to do a little chasing from time to time. In her foster home, Koda lives with other dogs and has done very well. She seems to enjoy pack life and does well in a stable pack. A big fan of fetch, Koda loves to get her daily exercise in while running around after a ball. She is also a big fan of her daily walks.

As happens as we get older, Koda has developed a few age related medical conditions. She does have pannus and will require daily eye medication in order to keep her comfortable. Fortunately, her medication is easy to find Koda is good about having it applied. In addition, Koda has developed some arthritis. As a result, it is unlikely that she will not be running marathons in her forever home. Although Koda has a few additional medical needs, she is a fantastic companion who enjoys spending time with her people. If your family is looking for a mature lady with a love for snuggles, please consider adding Koda to your family. 

Lokki and his sister, Meka, were confiscated with a large number of dogs. Due to the nature of their seizure, both pups remained with animal control for a few months until they could be released. Although shelter staff worked hard to make sure both dogs had what they needed, they knew that placement through a rescue would be best. When asked if we could bring these two babies into the MAGSR family, we immediately stepped forward. 

Lokki is a curious and intelligent guy. Although he is a survivor, he maintains a friendly personality. With all that Lokki has endured, he has not had the opportunity to work through many of his puppy antics. As a result, this handsome guy is still learning the dos and don'ts of puppyhood. However, with patience and consistency, he is making great strides. As a young pup, Lokki has a lot of energy. He is looking for a family that can exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. As Lokki and Meka lacked the opportunity to explore the world as young pups, they both have many puppy-like traits at this time. Both will thrive in households where structure, guidance, and leadership are provided consistently. Training will go a long way with Lokki. Not only will this help her bond to his new family, but it will also help him develop into a stable and confident canine citizen. Lovely little Mistletoe is looking for a forever home this holiday season. This sweet girl was cherished by her family. Mistletoe is in many ways your typical young shepherd. She is curious, playful, and energetic. A fan of the ball Mistletoe will happily run around with one but is still working on bringing it back. It's just too much fun to give it back. Highly treat motivated, Mistletoe will be a star in training class. In fact, she already knows a couple commands. Training will be critical to Mistletoe's success as it will not only help her bond to her forever family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. As a young girl, Mistletoe will thrive in a home with structure, routine, and leadership. This will further support Mistletoe as she develops into a stable and confident adult. Mistletoe grew up with young children and a cat. She did very well with both and would be happy to move forward with an active family. Sweet Renner was picked up as a stray and brought to a local shelter. Upon his arrival it was highly evident that this boy needed some special attention and quickly. His skin was raw and painful in many areas due to a deep skin dermatitis. Fortunately, the shelter was able to get him immediate medical care so Renner could find some relief. With a little TLC, Renner's skin has greatly improved. Although the shelter staff loved Renner, they knew he would have his best chance at finding his forever family if he was transferred to a rescue. When asked if we could help this guy, MAGSR immediately stepped forward. 

Renner is a sweet young adult. He enjoys the company of his people and other dogs. As is true of many shepherds, Renner does need a little time to adjust to his people. However, when given a moment to warm up, Renner is affectionate and interactive. Although we do not know anything about his past, we do know that Renner will thrive with structure, routine, and consistency. Training will go a long way with Renner. Not only will this help him develop the skills and strategies needed to develop into a good canine citizen but it will also help him bond to his new family. Cletus is a happy-go-lucky guy. Found wandering around with a four-legged buddy, Cletus was found and brought to safety by the right people. When his buddy found another rescue to take him in, Cletus began looking for a rescue of his own. Fortunately, MAGSR heard about this sweetheart and immediately welcomed him to the family. 

Cletus is a young, sweet, and affectionate guy. With a playful personality and a friendly demeanor, Cletus easily wins over the hearts and minds of everyone around him. As Cletus has not yet had the opportunity to live in a household, he will likely have a lot to learn. However, as a smart and energetic guy, he should be a quick learner. Cletus is looking for a forever family that will continue to socialize him as this is essential if he is to develop into a stable adult. Training is also necessary as it will help Cletus not only bond to his forever family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen.
