Description

Pan and his five siblings were part of an accidental litter. Fortunately, their family recognized the importance of making sure the entire litter had the support and resources needed to succeed. Wanting the very best for all six little lives, they reached out to a local rescue group for help. The puppies were welcomed into rescue and began their journey toward finding forever homes. Several of Pan’s siblings quickly found their families, leaving this sweet boy still searching for his perfect match. Knowing that Pan would thrive in a breed-specific rescue, the group reached out to MAGSR for help. We knew right away that this handsome little guy would be a wonderful addition to the MAGSR family.

Pan is an exceptional puppy with a wonderful start to his training. He is already about 98% house trained and will politely whine to let you know when he needs to go outside. Pan is also crate trained and, for a puppy, has a slightly calmer and lower-energy personality than many puppies. Of course, he still enjoys playtime and puppy adventures, but he also has a sweet, easygoing side. This handsome boy truly loves everyone he meets. Like most puppies, Pan is playful and still learning boundaries as he grows. He has been well socialized with other dogs, cats, adults, and children, giving him a great foundation as he searches for his forever family.

Although Pan is absolutely adorable, it’s important to remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, training, and clear expectations, Pan has all the potential to grow into an incredible canine citizen and loyal companion. If handsome Pan sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!

Description

The Neverland Litter (Hook, Pan, Wendy, Tootles, Pockets, Cubby, Nana, Nibs, Rufio, and Tink) was born on a property that is known for breeding and selling puppies. When these babies turned six weeks old, the owner dropped them along with a second litter at a shelter. Unfortunately, the shelter, like so many others, was sitting at critical capacity and knew they needed help moving the babies forward. Recognizing that a rescue would be the best option for these babies, a plea went out to GSD rescues up and down the coast for help. With puppy season in full swing, many groups are inundated with babies needing a safe place to move forward. When asked if we could welcome this group to the family, team MAGSR stepped forward.

The Neverland puppies are playful, interactive, and social puppies. Although they did not have the easiest start, they have had many different people in their corner since their arrival at the shelter. In the last few weeks, these babies have had many opportunities to start socializing with new people and in a variety of situations. Socialization is essential to their success; it is critical to their forever families continue this process. Living with some of our amazing foster families, these babies are learning the ins and outs of living in a home. They are learning all about the joys of good food, daily playtime, structure and routine. Although Pan and his siblings are beyond precious, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your household with endless puppy antics. With time, training, and patience, we know that the Neverland Litter will grow up to become good canine citizens. If your family is ready to welcome precious Pan into your home, ask to meet him today.

Description

Lovely Moiraine was picked up as a stray with her pup and brought to a local shelter. Although both dogs were clearly well-socialized and friendly, they sat at the shelter without anyone stepping forward to claim them. Knowing that they were special dogs who would be most successful if placed with a breed specific rescue, the shelter reached out to MAGSR for help. They found the perfect placement for the pup but needed a home for Moiraine. Too many momma's get left behind far too often. Team MAGSR knew that we would find Moiraine the perfect placement and give this marevelous momma a loving home of her very own. Without a second thought, we welcomed Moiraine to the MAGSR family.

Moiraine is the picture of a true German Shepherd — intelligent, loyal, and devoted to her people. This beautiful mama dog embodies everything that makes the breed so special: she’s protective yet gentle, confident yet affectionate, and always eager to please. Since joining the MAGSR family, Moiraine has had the opportunity to socialize with a variety of people and has constantly impressed us with her social personality. She's a quick learner who will thrive with continued training, structure, and clear boundaries - the kind of dog who blossoms when given purpose and guidance. In fact, Moiraine has already begun to develop her basic obedience with one of our amazing training partners. She is developing leash manners and basic commands. Although we do not know much about Moiraine's past, we do know her future is bright!

After lovingly raising her puppies, Moiraine is ready to enjoy a home of her own where she can be the one getting all the attention.  With her classic Shepherd spirit and steady companionship, Moiraine will be a faithful, loving partner to someone who appreciates the brilliance and heart of this remarkable breed. If Moiraine sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

Updates:
As Moiraine has continued to settle into her environment, we’ve learned even more about this sweet girl’s personality. Moiraine is a soft, lovable shepherd who absolutely adores her people. She loves cuddle time, belly rubs, and being close to those she trusts. While she may be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly and becomes a devoted companion who simply wants to be loved.Moiraine is a medium-energy girl with both a calm, snuggly side and a playful, energetic side. She enjoys working and thrives when she has structure and direction from her handler. Moiraine is very attentive to her surroundings and extremely responsive to her handler, listening well to commands and showing how much she enjoys learning and pleasing her person. As a working-minded dog, she does best when she has regular outlets for her energy and mental engagement. When overstimulated, Moiraine may become a bit mouthy, but this is not done with harmful intent. Providing structure, clear guidance, and appropriate outlets for her energy helps her stay balanced and successful. She responds well to corrections and is eager to refocus on her handler.Moiraine can be dog-friendly with proper introductions, though slow and controlled introductions are important for her comfort. She prefers calm canine companions and does best in a structured environment rather than free-range play with highly boisterous dogs. She has some prey drive, so homes with cats or small dogs would not be a good match for her.We have also observed that Moiraine has no food or toy aggression and does not display resource guarding. She sometimes likes to play tug with her lead, and this is something we are actively working on with her training. She redirects well with guidance and continues to make good progress. At the end of the day, Moiraine is truly a fluffy love bug who enjoys curling up with her people and relaxing with a favorite bone after a day of activity. She is looking for a home that understands the German Shepherd breed and will provide the structure, engagement, and love she deserves. With the right family, Moiraine will be a deeply loyal, affectionate, and devoted companion.

Description

Sweet Mama Sage found herself in an incredibly tough situation in the South after being surrendered to an overcrowded shelter - one where many dogs step in but never get the chance to step back out due to a lack of space. Fate, however, had other plans. As Sage arrived with a hidden surprise inside, a local rescue volunteer happened to be walking out. Recognizing the danger Sage faced, she immediately began networking this lovely girl, determined to give her a chance at a future. At the same time, MAGSR was already in conversations about another dog at the same shelter. Knowing Sage (and her special surprises) had no other options, our team made the decision that saving a few lives was better than saving one—and the girls joined the MAGSR family.

Upon arrival, our volunteers quickly discovered that Sage brought more than one little friend along - she brought nine! Sage was pregnant and due very soon. Knowing this little family would need a safe place to begin, one of our amazing fosters stepped forward and welcomed the Sage into her home. The family would multiply significantly within a couple weeks. Just before 2026 began, Sage welcomed nine furry babies to the world - the Nature Puppies (Brook, Wren, Terra, Briar, Moss, Timber, Hawk, Falcon, and Buckeye)! These little bundles of joy have been learning all about the world around them while under the watchful eye of their mother, Sage, and their incredible foster family.

Unlike many babies who have joined the rescue family under very different circumstances, the Nature Puppies have had constant love, care, attention, and vetting since they were born. They have been learning social skills within a pack and have a good understanding of toys. Although these babies have had a loving start, it is critical that their forever families continue this process. Socialization with other people and animals in a variety of environments will be essential. Training will also be necessary for their success. Training will not only help the Nature puppies build a solid bond with their forever family, but it will also help these babies grow into good canine citizens.

Although the Nature Puppies are beyond adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, routine, and training, we know each of the Nature Puppies will become loving members of their forever family. If one of our wiggly puppies sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet them today!

Kieko

Adopted: 03/26/2026!

Gender: Female

Breed: German Shepherd Dog

Approximate Age: 5 months

Color: Black & Tan

Current Size: 48 lbs

Ideal/Potential Size: Large

Housebroken: Unknown

Obedience Trained: Working on it

Living with: Foster

History: Shelter

Good with Kids: Likely

Good with Cats: No

Other Dogs OK: Likely

Description

Some dogs are passed around far too many times in their young lives, and sweet Kieko is one of them. At just five months old, she has already experienced more transitions than any puppy should. Each time she began to settle in, another change followed. Fortunately, her most recent owner recognized that Kieko deserved stability and made the thoughtful decision to surrender her to a local shelter only two weeks after bringing her home. Knowing Kieko needed a permanent, supportive placement, shelter staff reached out to MAGSR for help. We knew this adorable little lady would thrive in rescue, and thanks to an incredible foster family stepping forward, Kieko officially joined the MAGSR family.

In many ways, Kieko is your typical young German Shepherd puppy—curious, energetic, and eager to explore the world around her. She has previously lived with other dogs and cats; however, her prey drive is a bit too strong for feline friends, so a cat-free home will be best for her moving forward. While we don’t know much about her early history, it’s clear that someone invested time in giving Kieko a solid socialization foundation. She enjoys people and happily cuddles up for affection.

Because of the many changes she has experienced early in life, Kieko will need time to adjust and settle into her forever home. With patience, consistency, and continued training, she will absolutely thrive. Kieko already walks well on leash and knows several basic cues, including sit, stay, paw, and down. Like many puppies, she’s still learning appropriate manners and can be a bit enthusiastic, especially when it comes to keeping all four paws on the floor. This is a normal puppy behavior that will improve with clear expectations, structure, and training. Overall, Kieko is a joyful, affectionate puppy who loves to run, play, and soak up attention from her people.

While Kieko is beyond delightful, it’s important to remember that she is still a puppy. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and bring plenty of playful chaos along with them. Structure, routine, training, and continued socialization will be the keys to Kieko’s long-term success. If this little lady sounds like the right match for your family, please ask to meet her today!

Description

Patsy Cline, like far too many dogs, was born without the resources or care she needed to thrive. She spent her puppyhood living outdoors with little consistency, guidance, or attention. As her brothers and sisters were placed into homes, Patsy was left behind. In time, another accidental litter arrived—the Country Puppies: Reba, Lainey, and Shaina. Born into the same circumstances, all four dogs ultimately found themselves in need of help. Recognizing that the puppies deserved a safer, healthier start, their owner made the responsible decision to surrender them to MAGSR. When our team visited the property to meet the Country Puppies, it quickly became clear that Patsy Cline needed help as well. At MAGSR, we don’t leave family behind—so we promised to move Patsy forward alongside her sisters.

Patsy is a friendly, social, and affectionate young girl. While she didn’t have the upbringing we would have hoped for, she is clearly made of something special and has done wonderfully with our volunteers. Arriving without prior veterinary care, Patsy has been spending her time getting caught up on all the important medical support she needed. A playful and interactive pup, Patsy enjoys social time and brings plenty of young-dog energy to everything she does. She is still learning the ins and outs of living in a home with structure, routine, and clear expectations, so her forever family should be prepared to give her time to adjust. With patience, consistency, and guidance, Patsy will absolutely thrive. Training will be especially important for Patsy—not only to help her learn good manners, but also to build a strong, healthy bond with her family and develop the skills needed to become a confident, well-rounded canine citizen.

Patsy Cline is a young, energetic, and loving girl searching for a forever family who will cherish her for a lifetime. If your family is looking for an absolute sweetheart who would love days filled with adventure and nights spent snuggled close, ask to meet Patsy today!

Description

Handsome Rex was surrendered to a local shelter when his family could no longer care for him. It was clear from the start that Rex had been socialized with both people and other dogs; however, he had not been given the structure, routine, and training needed to truly set him up for success. Rex is a highly intelligent, energetic dog who simply was not made for a shelter environment.

Shelter staff worked tirelessly to meet his needs, but it became evident that Rex would not thrive without the support of a dedicated rescue. When MAGSR was asked to welcome Rex into our family, we knew this deserving boy needed a safe place to land and a clear path forward. Our team immediately put everything in place to help Rex begin his next chapter—one built on guidance, consistency, and the opportunity to become the incredible dog we know he can be.

Knowing training was critical to his success, one of our trusted training partners welcomed Rex into their care. This has given Rex a consistent outlet to work both his mind and body, a balanced approach that is essential to his continued progress and must remain a priority once he finds his forever family. Rex is definitely not a couch potato! He is looking for an active, experienced home that understands the breed and is committed to ongoing training.

Continued training will not only help Rex build a strong, healthy bond with his forever family, but will also help him develop the skills needed to become a confident, well-rounded canine citizen. While we may not know much about Rex’s past, we know his future is very bright. If this stunning boy sounds like a good match for your home, please ask to meet him today!

Description

Meet gorgeous Glacier from the Winter Litter! This adorable baby girl is ready to find her match. The **Winter Litter—Tundra, Glacier, and Frosty—**joined the MAGSR family a few weeks ago after being rescued from a local cruelty and neglect situation. An advocate reached out to local law enforcement after discovering these puppies were living in conditions that were simply unimaginable. When they arrived, all three were severely emaciated, full of worms, missing patches of fur, and understandably unsure of new people. They urgently needed rescue placement to begin their journey toward safety and healing. Thanks to our incredible foster families, prescribed medications, structured feeding schedules, and strong veterinary support, all three puppies were welcomed into the safety of the MAGSR family.

Glacier is a delightful, playful, and smart young pup who thrives when both her mind and body are exercised on a daily basis. Like many puppies who lacked early structure, Glacier has benefited greatly from an experienced foster home that has begun teaching her the ins and outs of living in a loving home environment. Crate training and housebreaking were first on the list, and Glacier has been doing a wonderful job learning these important skills.

Living in an established pack has also given Glacier the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills and understand pack structure—an essential foundation for her long-term success. With a strong desire to please her people, Glacier has begun learning basic expectations. Continued training and consistent opportunities to learn will help her grow into a confident, well-rounded canine citizen. While Glacier is undeniably cute, it’s important to remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With patience, consistency, and training, Glacier has all the potential to mature into a stable, confident adult dog.

If this beautiful girl sounds like the perfect match for your family, ask to meet Glacier today!

Updates:
Glacier is doing well, she is a sweetheart,  she loves cuddles and belly rubs.  She loves walking and playing with her toys.  She loves playing with other dogs and makes friends quickly.   Glacier listens to basic commands and is learning everyday.

Description

Joi’s life began as a beautiful gift — she and another dog were welcomed into a loving home where she was truly adored. When unexpected changes in the household turned her world upside down, Joi’s mom did everything in her power to keep her safe, loved, and healthy. When it became clear that Joi and her buddy deserved more than she could provide, she made the heartbreaking decision to seek rehoming. Joi’s partner found placement first, leaving her behind. But her mom never gave up. She kept searching for the right, safe solution — and when she reached out to the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue (MAGSR) our team knew immediately this was a devoted owner simply trying to do right by her girl. We promised Joi’s mom we would find her an amazing forever family — one that will love her for a lifetime.

Joi is everything you’d expect from a typical German Shepherd — intelligent, affectionate, loyal, and ready for a challenge. She loves to work with her handler and is eager to learn. Having had some training early in life, Joi already knows several commands and is highly food motivated, which makes her a wonderful candidate for continued training. Ongoing training will not only sharpen her skills but will also help her build a deep bond with her forever family and grow into an outstanding canine citizen.

Because Joi has lived in a home, she understands many of the ins and outs of household living. That said, every home has different routines and expectations, so she will need time to decompress and adjust. With structure, consistency, clear leadership, and patience, Joi will thrive in her new environment. She can be a little protective of her food around other animals and prefers to dine separately from furry housemates — and honestly, who can blame her? When something delicious is right in front of you, it’s best enjoyed without interruptions!

Playful and toy-savvy, Joi enjoys a variety of toys and would love a home that keeps the fun coming. With the right family, she will absolutely shine. If you are looking for an intelligent, playful, and attentive companion who is ready to build a lifelong bond, Joi may be the perfect match for you.

Description

Sweet Sage found herself in an incredibly tough situation in the South after being surrendered to an overcrowded shelter—one where many dogs step in but never get the chance to step back out due to a lack of space. Fate, however, had other plans. As Sage arrived, a local rescue volunteer happened to be walking out. Recognizing the danger Sage faced, she immediately began networking this lovely girl, determined to give her a chance at a future. At the same time, MAGSR was already in conversations about another dog at the same shelter. Knowing Sage had no other options, our team made the decision that saving two lives was better than saving one—and both girls joined the MAGSR family.

Sage is a beautiful young dog with a soft caramel-colored coat and an even sweeter personality. Just under a year old when she entered her temporary foster home in the South, Sage was underweight but incredibly affectionate. With full meals, a soft bed, and a consistent routine, she quickly began to thrive. It became clear that Sage already had some important skills—she is social, walks well on leash, and loves to lean in for cuddles. Though her past is unknown, it’s obvious someone showed her kindness along the way. She is comfortable with people and other animals, and while she occasionally needs redirection when she gets a little too playful with the resident cat, she responds well to guidance.

Sage impressed her foster family by excelling with crate training and making great progress with housebreaking. When she recently traveled north to her current foster home in the Mid-Atlantic, it was clear that she had been enjoying her daily meals—she had gained some healthy weight. Upon closer inspection, however, it became apparent that the extra pounds weren’t just from good food… Sage was pregnant. Still a puppy herself in many ways, sweet Sage arrived with more than one little passenger. Knowing she deserves to feel safe, calm, and comfortable while finishing out her pregnancy, one of our incredible foster families welcomed her in and is providing everything she needs to rest, nest, and prepare for motherhood. Donations toward Sage’s baby shower can be made at https://a.co/angSJOp.

As Sage’s medical care is now being closely monitored, we also learned that she is heartworm positive—a diagnosis that could have been prevented with monthly heartworm prevention. Because treatment cannot begin until after her puppies are weaned, Sage will require careful monitoring over the coming months as she delivers, raises her babies, and later begins heartworm treatment. This care will be extensive and costly, but Sage is absolutely worth it. Please consider donating to support her ongoing medical needs.

Despite everything she’s been through, Sage remains a joyful, affectionate girl with a heart of gold. Because of her size, it’s easy to forget she’s still very much a puppy—and she does puppy things! She is eager to love, quick to bond, and ready to be someone’s very best friend when the time is right.

Stay tuned for updates on Sage and her growing family.

Updates:
The evening of 12/30, Sage went into labor. By 2:30 AM on New Year's Eve, all nine of her babies were welcomed into the world, cleaned, and fed. Despite being almost a puppy herself, mama Sage has been doing everything she needs to and, with the help of her amazing foster family, she and her beautiful puppies are doing well and the puppies are gaining weight nicely.

Description

Marvelous Maylee was found as a stray in the South and brought to a crowded shelter. Although it was clear she’d been well socialized with both people and other animals, no one ever came to claim her. With shepherds filling shelters and space running out, Maylee urgently needed a safe place to go. Thankfully, the staff saw how special she was and advocated for her. When we learned Maylee needed help and fast, our team stepped in to give this incredible girl the second chance she deserves.

Maylee is a smart, social, and eager-to-please young shepherd. Someone in her past clearly invested time in her—she’s treat-motivated, already knows several commands, and truly loves to work. Her ideal family will enjoy training and mental enrichment as much as she does. Like most shepherds, Maylee thrives when both her mind and body are exercised daily, which helps her feel confident, balanced, and happy. She’s very comfortable on leash and ready for any adventure: walks, hikes, or simply exploring the neighborhood. Maylee checks in with her handler often and takes direction beautifully. This is definitely a special little lady.

While we don’t know much about her past, we’re certain about her future: with patience, structure, and routine, Maylee will blossom. Training will not only help her continue developing good canine manners, but will also help her bond deeply with her new family. This is critical for all shepherds and Maylee deserves this opportunity to shine. Maylee is a truly wonderful girl looking for a family who will love her for a lifetime. If she sounds like your perfect match, ask to meet her today!
