Allie and her sister Aria came to us from a shelter where they had been surrendered. We are told that mom is a purebred GSD and dad is purebred Lab. At 16 weeks old both girls have a whole lot to learn. It is never too soon to start basic obedience training, as socialization with other dogs and people is very important, along with learning good puppy manners. Puppies will chew things, have accidents, get into things and have lots of energy, so please be sure you have the time and patience it takes to raise a puppy.

Sapphire made her way to us from a shelter where she had been surrendered by her former owners. They had told the shelter that she was good with children, dogs and cats. She is in a foster living with young children and another GSD and getting along well. We have not had her around cats. She is a young, energetic girl that has had no training or guidance. She's very trainable, she pays attention to her handler and is responsive to both food and praise. A good training program, guidance from her family and exercise to burn off some that puppy energy are in order for beautiful Sapphire.

Missy was found tied to a tree, no one ever came for her. The person that found her took very good care of her and was hoping to make her part of their family. Unfortunately Missy and the resident small dog were not compatible. Wanting Missy to have the best chance at finding a good family she was surrendered to us. She is young, energetic and has a lot to learn. Training of course will help Missy learn what is expected of her, good canine manners and build a bond with her new family.

Merlin was surrendered as he kept escaping the yard with a 4 foot fence, suggested ways of keeping him contained were not implemented. He had been with his family for 5 years and deserved more than to be given away. As Merlin is new to us we are just getting to know him. He lived with another dog in his prior home. Right now he is confused and somewhat anxious with the changes in his life. He does require training to help him with good canine manners and to learn what is expected of him. Training is a great way to start the bonding process with a new family.

Mocha was adopted through our rescue when she was just 16 weeks old. She has lived with her adopters for the last 6 years. After 6 years they decided to return her because they could not contain her in their yard with a 4 foot fence. Instead of correcting the problem or supervising her while she was out she was returned, leaving the only family she has known. Mocha deserved better than this, along with a lifetime commitment. She is such a well behaved sweet girl, she gets along well with other dogs. Mocha is now looking for a family who will commit to her for her lifetime.

Ralph came to rescue when he was a 6 month old puppy, all cuddly and cute. Of course being a puppy lots of people were interested in adopting him. His family adopted in 2016 and sadly returned him as he is no longer the cute puppy they adopted. Yes, we see this far too much, people getting puppies but once they are grown adults the puppy cuteness has worn off and they are surrendering the dogs through no fault of the dog. While Ralph is no longer a puppy, he is a still a very handsome and loving young boy. Ralph lived in a home with a toddler and did well. He has had no obedience training, so his leash walking skills need improvement. He enjoys being near people receiving attention. He's a sweet boy that just needs some structure and training to make him the perfect little love-bug! Ralph is looking for a family who will commit to him for his lifetime.

Wiley was found in a trash bag on the side of the road when he was approximately 8 weeks old. Since then he has been passed around from person to person and not always having the best of care. Thankfully the last person who he was given to reached out to us so that Wiley would have the best chance at finding a loving and caring family. Wiley had a vet visit today for his vaccines and check up, he received a clean bill of health, just needs to gain some weight. He is now in a loving foster home enjoying the comforts of a home, toys, treats and good nutrition.

Boyka was surrendered to us as his former person was very busy with his graduate studies. He knew that Boyka needed more time and attention then he could give him. Boyka is very well behaved for a 7 month old puppy, he is housebroken and crate trained. He will whine and bark when first going into his crate but will settle. He absolutely loves the company of other dogs, both males and females, he wants to be near them all of the time. He is currently in a foster home with another GSD and Boxer, both are seniors and he does so well with them. He does have a lot of puppy energy, he enjoys going for walks, playing and running in the yard and a good game of keep away is a lot of fun. He does not have perfect leash manners, but they aren't bad for a dog of his age. He is a sponge and soaking up everything his foster mom is teaching him. He has met children of varying ages and did well, but he does not take treats gently and his energy level may be too much for little ones. Boyka is very ready for a good training program and a new forever family.

Apollo has not been well socialized with people or other dogs, he has not had training or guidance. He is a big boy for his age but still very much a puppy. Meet Chip! Chip is an older gentleman who found himself on hard times after his former family fell ill and could no longer provide for him. He was surrendered to a local shelter. Luckily, for all involved, we were able to provide a caring home in his hour of need. He is now resting comfortably in the home of a very loving and compassionate care giver. Because of his advanced age, Chip is very arthritic, a little unstable on his feet and requires joint medication. A home with no steps is a must and limited non-slip floors are preferred. Currently, we are trying to take a little excess weight off of him. However, even with limited mobility, he manages to get around. Chip loves going for car rides and bonds very quickly to his favorite people. He is very charming and wants nothing more than to be loved and spend quiet time with his favorite people.

Harmony was found as a stray and ended up in a shelter. She is missing a rear paw which appears to be from an old injury. This does not slow her down, she can run and play as well as any 4 pawed dog. She is friendly and very much enjoys a good belly rub. Harmony will need training to help her overcome her dislike of vacuums, hairdryers, etc. This can be easily dealt with by putting her away when these items are in use and of course ongoing training. Meet Chief! He's a young, exuberant boy. He was surrendered to a shelter when his family reported they could not handle him. However, he has had very minimal training. This is a perfect example of why training is so important. His former family stated he was good with children and cats, but we have not yet tested him with either.

Kayla is approximately 10 months old. She came from a horrific hoarding situation. A large number of dogs that had no medical care, lack of human contact and socialization, filthy living environments, etc. Kayla is quite skittish at this time, she will need a person who will help bring her out of her shell. She needs socialization, to be introduced to the world around her, proper care and direction from her family. She deserves the chance to know that not all people are bad, that she is safe and much loved. A quieter, less active home would be best for her, with someone who has the patience to help her move forward. A home with a lot of people coming and going, especially young children would not be in her best interest. It is not that Kayla is not good with children, but she is a possible flight risk due to her skittishness. A door inadvertently left open could prove dangerous for Kayla. In the short time she has been in our care she has started to come out of her shell, interested in new things and seeking out attention. It is imperative that the family adopting Kayla is certain it will be for her lifetime, please be sure you can make that commitment.

Bo came to us from a shelter, so we have no history on him. He can be picky about his dog friends and may do best as an only dog or with female dogs. Training of course will go a long way helping Bo settle in, learn some manners and how to properly interact with other dogs. With people he is very friendly, although we do not know how he is with children at this time.
