Some dogs are passed around far too many times in their young lives, and sweet Kieko is one of them. At just five months old, she has already experienced more transitions than any puppy should. Each time she began to settle in, another change followed. Fortunately, her most recent owner recognized that Kieko deserved stability and made the thoughtful decision to surrender her to a local shelter only two weeks after bringing her home. Knowing Kieko needed a permanent, supportive placement, shelter staff reached out to MAGSR for help. We knew this adorable little lady would thrive in rescue, and thanks to an incredible foster family stepping forward, Kieko officially joined the MAGSR family.
In many ways, Kieko is your typical young German Shepherd puppy—curious, energetic, and eager to explore the world around her. She has previously lived with other dogs and cats; however, her prey drive is a bit too strong for feline friends, so a cat-free home will be best for her moving forward. While we don’t know much about her early history, it’s clear that someone invested time in giving Kieko a solid socialization foundation. She enjoys people and happily cuddles up for affection.
Because of the many changes she has experienced early in life, Kieko will need time to adjust and settle into her forever home. With patience, consistency, and continued training, she will absolutely thrive. Kieko already walks well on leash and knows several basic cues, including sit, stay, paw, and down. Like many puppies, she’s still learning appropriate manners and can be a bit enthusiastic, especially when it comes to keeping all four paws on the floor. This is a normal puppy behavior that will improve with clear expectations, structure, and training. Overall, Kieko is a joyful, affectionate puppy who loves to run, play, and soak up attention from her people.
While Kieko is beyond delightful, it’s important to remember that she is still a puppy. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and bring plenty of playful chaos along with them. Structure, routine, training, and continued socialization will be the keys to Kieko’s long-term success. If this little lady sounds like the right match for your family, please ask to meet her today!

Hannah has known love her whole life. Since she was a puppy, she lived in a devoted home where she was absolutely adored by her dad. Understanding how important socialization is, he made sure Hannah had plenty of positive experiences meeting new people — and it shows! Hannah is a true social butterfly who happily wins over every friendly face she meets. Sadly, life took an unexpected turn. When her dad developed a serious health condition, he made the heartbreaking but selfless decision to rehome Hannah so she could continue to receive the care and life she deserves. Wanting the very best for her, he reached out to MAGSR, knowing a breed-specific rescue would help set her up for success. Our team immediately recognized how special she is and welcomed her with open arms.
Hannah is a young, intelligent, and attentive girl with a wonderful head on her shoulders. She reads her handler’s cues beautifully and is eager to respond. Having been exposed to other dogs throughout her life, she understands many canine social signals. That said, she does best with slow and proper introductions to ensure positive, successful interactions. While in our care, she’s been working regularly with handlers to continue building those skills.
Thanks to her home experience, Hannah already knows the ins and outs of indoor living. She is housebroken and crate trained. As with any new dog, she will need time, patience, and understanding as she settles into her forever home. Clear structure, consistent routines, and defined expectations will help her thrive during the transition. Hannah would also greatly benefit from continued training. Not only will this help fine-tune her manners, but it will also build a strong, lasting bond with her forever family.
This bright girl enjoys walks and playtime during the day, followed by cozy snuggles in the evening. She is ready to love and be loved for a lifetime. If you’re looking for an intelligent, attentive, and affectionate companion, look no further than our lovely Hannah.

Paul’s story began with heartbreak, but it’s quickly turning into one of hope, resilience, and love. As one of five siblings, Paul was raised outdoors by a devoted mama who kept her babies safe and cared for. Tragically, during a severe storm, their mother was swept away and lost. Thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, Paul and his siblings were rescued just in time and brought to safety. While three of his siblings have already found their forever homes, Paul and his brother George are still waiting for theirs. Now thriving in a loving foster home, Paul is ready to start his next chapter—with you.
Paul is an absolute sweetheart with a big personality to match his growing size. He’s social, intelligent, and already showing what a wonderful companion he’ll become. Having lived with other dogs, Paul understands the rhythm of a pack and gets along beautifully with his foster siblings—especially his foster brother, whom he happily follows around like a shadow. This charming pup is already housebroken and crate trained, giving him a great head start for his forever family. He loves toys, outdoor playtime, and learning new things. Paul is affectionate, playful, and eager to please—making him a joy to have around.
Of course, like any puppy, Paul is still learning. He’ll need a family that can provide continued training, patience, and lots of love as he grows into a well-mannered adult dog. In return, he promises a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and companionship. If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and devoted addition to your family, Paul just might be your perfect match.

Not every dog gets to spend their life curled up on a couch, showered with affection, and surrounded by family. Ivy’s story is a reminder of just how resilient dogs can be — even when life hasn't always been as kind as you may hope.
Though Ivy has known human kindness, she has never known the comfort of a true home until now. She came to MAGSR having never lived in a home, yet her soulful eyes and calm presence speak of a dog who still believes in love. Physically, Ivy carries the weight of a life spent giving more than she received. Her body shows signs of many litters, untreated medical conditions, and severe arthritis. When her pain became too much to ignore, a decision was made to give Ivy the care she so desperately needed — and she joined the MAGSR family.
One of our amazing senior foster families immediately stepped up, giving Ivy her very first taste of home: a comfortable household, soft beds, quiet spaces, and unconditional love. Despite her past, Ivy is gentle, affectionate, and slowly learning the joys of being a beloved companion. She enjoys short walks, tasty treats, and has recently discovered the magic of dog beds.
But Ivy's journey is far from over. Upon arrival, she was diagnosed with:
This week, Ivy bravely underwent a complicated hysterectomy, had several masses removed, and began treatment to address her discomfort. Radiographs of her joins and chest were taken to determine the extent of her needs. Consultations with specialists also took place. At this time biopsy results are pending, and more invasive care may be needed. Despite everything, Ivy remains calm, loving, and endlessly patient — a true testament to her spirit. She is wearing her surgical pajamas like a champ, is adjusting to the cone and pro collar, and has been very patient when going through daily clean up and care. Ivy isn’t available for adoption just yet, but she will be — once she’s strong, healthy, and ready for the next chapter of her life.
Ivy’s care is ongoing and expensive. If you’re touched by her story, please consider making a donation toward her medical expenses. Every dollar helps us continue to care for dogs like Ivy — the ones who’ve waited too long for a family of their own and are finally getting their chance. Donations can be made at magsr.org. Thank you in advance for joining us in believing in second chances.
Ivy is an exceptional girl who we know is worth every dime.

Kahless spent his entire life with one family, growing up in a lively home filled with a large pack of dogs and a constant stream of at least six kids. He truly adored his family and thrived in the busy environment, showing a gentle and patient nature with all the children around him. When things got a little too chaotic, Kahless showed his thoughtful side—quietly stepping away to relax in a calm space when he needed a break. Known as the peacemaker of the pack, Kahless got along beautifully with everyone and brought a steady, grounding presence to the home. He was the kind of dog who helped keep the balance. His family loved him deeply, but with so much activity and responsibility in the home, they realized they couldn’t give Kahless the one-on-one attention he deserved. In a truly selfless decision, they chose to seek rescue placement so he could have the opportunity to thrive in a home of his own.
Kahless is a curious and thoughtful boy who has experienced a lot of change in a short time. As a result, he may need a little time to adjust to new people and surroundings. But once he feels comfortable, his wonderful personality begins to shine through. Kahless has been making great progress with leash walking and is continuing to build his basic skills. And with treats involved? Kahless is more than happy to learn! He’s a smart pup who will benefit greatly from continued training, structure, and clear expectations. This will not only help him settle into his forever home but also allow him to grow into a confident and well-rounded companion.
One of Kahless’s favorite things is being outdoors. Nature is where he truly relaxes—whether it’s a walk, an adventure, or simply exploring by your side, he finds peace and joy outside. Having lived in a home, Kahless already understands many household routines. He is housebroken and crate trained, making him a wonderful addition for a family looking for a dog with a solid foundation. That said, like any dog adjusting to a new environment, he will need patience, time, and space to decompress and settle in. Once he’s comfortable, Kahless becomes a loyal, gentle presence—a quiet “shadow” who will stay close and offer constant companionship and reassurance.
If your family is looking for an intelligent, steady, and loving dog who will be your loyal partner through life’s everyday moments, Kahless may be your perfect match.

This lovely lady found herself in the care of a rescue determined to place her in a safe and loving home. That rescue later reached out for help with some of the dogs in their care, and as we all know, teamwork makes the dream work, so MAGSR didn't think twice before stepping forward to assist.Cloud is the kind of dog who leaves an impression you won’t soon forget. With her kind eyes, sweet spirit, and gentle way of moving through the world, it’s hard not to fall in love. A sensitive soul at heart, Cloud has been through a lot and responds best to slow, soft introductions and a gentle, patient handler - someone who understands that dogs who’ve had a tough past deserve the time and space to build trust. She’ll likely need a little more decompression time than most dogs when settling into a new space, but the rewards of her trust are well worth the wait. Given that a calmer, more consistent environment will help set her up for success, this sweetheart may struggle around little kids. A charming companion, Cloud gets along well with cats and other dogs; she prefers large male dogs whose steady presence helps her feel more secure. While she might take a moment to settle in with new people and surroundings, this affectionate girl warms up more quickly when there are treats involved. When she opens up, her bright, playful personality emerges, revealing a funny, friendly pup who’s eager to connect and explore. Whip-smart and athletic, Cloud has amazing potential, with the right guidance and continued training. Not only will additional training allow her to fine-tune her manners, it will also allow her to build and strengthen a bond with her forever family. If you’re someone who values a pup with depth, sweetness, and just the right dash of playfulness, Cloud might be your perfect match. To witness her quiet, endearing magic in person, ask to meet her today.

Xena was recently returned to the MAGSR family after spending several years in a loving home since she was a puppy. While this was not the outcome anyone hoped for, sometimes life circumstances change in ways that are beyond a family’s control. Xena was deeply loved, and her family knew that she deserved the opportunity for a fresh start—one MAGSR promised to provide. We welcomed Xena back with open arms and committed to finding her an incredible match as she moves forward into her next chapter.
Xena is an active, intelligent, and impressive girl who thrives when she has a job or a purpose. She is highly motivated to learn, eager to engage, and has a strong foundation that sets her up for success. Always happy to try new things, Xena needs regular mental and physical stimulation to stay balanced and fulfilled. She is not a couch potato and is looking for an active family that will challenge both her body and her mind on a daily basis. This structure not only helps her continue building skills but also supports her confident, stable personality.
Having lived in a home for several years, Xena understands many of the ins and outs of household living. She is crate trained, housebroken, and familiar with household expectations. As with any dog transitioning into a new environment, Xena will need time to adjust to the routines and rules of her forever family. True to her breed, Xena does take her role as a guardian seriously and can be protective of her home and property. Her forever family should be prepared to understand and implement best practices that help keep Xena feeling secure, supported, and successful. At the end of an active day, Xena is more than happy to relax with her people. She is affectionate, enjoys closeness, and loves settling in for the evening with those she trusts.
If your family is looking for an outgoing, intelligent, adventurous companion who is ready to form a deep bond and thrive with the right guidance, Xena would love to meet you and find a family of her very own

Not all life stories go as planned. Greta was deeply loved by her family, who fully expected to spend their lives with her. But when circumstances changed suddenly, they were faced with the heartbreaking decision to rehome her—something that was done purely in Greta’s best interest. Wanting the very best for her, they ensured she came to rescue so she could find the perfect forever match.
Greta is a stunning German Shepherd who embodies everything people love about the breed—intelligence, loyalty, and a deep devotion to her people. With her expressive eyes and confident presence, she naturally turns heads, but it’s her happy, outgoing personality that truly makes her shine. This beautiful girl thrives on connection and loves being part of the family. Whether she’s joining you for a walk, playing in the yard, or curling up beside you at the end of the day, Greta simply wants to be near her people. She hasn’t met a stranger she doesn’t like and greets everyone with enthusiasm and affection.
Greta is playful and sometimes exuberant, still very much a young dog GSD. She’s well socialized and does well with other friendly, even-tempered dogs of all sizes. She’s housebroken, crate trained, and knows some basic commands. She especially enjoys her playtime—chasing her beloved Jolly Ball in the yard is a favorite pastime—and after a fun-filled day, she’s more than happy to settle in for snuggles.
Like many young shepherds, Greta is still working on her manners. Her excitement when meeting new people means she sometimes forgets to keep “four on the floor,” and she would benefit from continued training and guidance. Training is critical to her success. Not only will training help Greta develop a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her become a good canine citizen. Due to her size and enthusiasm, she would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who can help her continue to learn appropriate boundaries.
Greta is a smart, eager-to-please girl who thrives with structure and routine. In the right home—with a confident handler committed to providing guidance, consistency, and love—she will absolutely flourish. Greta has so much love to give and is ready to share it with a family who will cherish her for the incredible dog she is. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion and are ready to help Greta continue growing into her best self, she may be the perfect match for your family.

Sweet Mama Sage found herself in an incredibly tough situation in the South after being surrendered to an overcrowded shelter - one where many dogs step in but never get the chance to step back out due to a lack of space. Fate, however, had other plans. As Sage arrived with a hidden surprise inside, a local rescue volunteer happened to be walking out. Recognizing the danger Sage faced, she immediately began networking this lovely girl, determined to give her a chance at a future. At the same time, MAGSR was already in conversations about another dog at the same shelter. Knowing Sage (and her special surprises) had no other options, our team made the decision that saving a few lives was better than saving one—and the girls joined the MAGSR family.
Upon arrival, our volunteers quickly discovered that Sage brought more than one little friend along - she brought nine! Sage was pregnant and due very soon. Knowing this little family would need a safe place to begin, one of our amazing fosters stepped forward and welcomed the Sage into her home. The family would multiply significantly within a couple weeks. Just before 2026 began, Sage welcomed nine furry babies to the world - the Nature Puppies (Brook, Wren, Terra, Briar, Moss, Timber, Hawk, Falcon, and Buckeye)! These little bundles of joy have been learning all about the world around them while under the watchful eye of their mother, Sage, and their incredible foster family.
Unlike many babies who have joined the rescue family under very different circumstances, the Nature Puppies have had constant love, care, attention, and vetting since they were born. They have been learning social skills within a pack and have a good understanding of toys. Although these babies have had a loving start, it is critical that their forever families continue this process. Socialization with other people and animals in a variety of environments will be essential. Training will also be necessary for their success. Training will not only help the Nature puppies build a solid bond with their forever family, but it will also help these babies grow into good canine citizens.
Although the Nature Puppies are beyond adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, patience, routine, and training, we know each of the Nature Puppies will become loving members of their forever family. If one of our wiggly puppies sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet them today!

Worf spent his entire life with one family, growing up in a busy home filled with a large pack of dogs and a revolving door of at least six kids. He adored his family and thrived in the hustle and bustle, doing wonderfully with the children around him. As one of the more confident dogs in the pack, Worf understood structure, though he occasionally clashed with an older alpha dog. His family loved him deeply, but with so many moving parts in the home, they realized they couldn’t give Worf the individual attention he truly deserved. Making the incredibly difficult and selfless decision, they chose to seek rescue placement so he could have the opportunity to shine in a home of his own.
When Worf joined the MAGSR family, one thing was immediately clear — “that’s a lotta dog!” And it’s true… but it’s all wrapped up in affection for people. Worf is incredibly sweet in the home. Whether he’s lounging on the couch or proudly bringing you his favorite toy for a game of fetch, he just wants to be near his humans. He has been wonderful with visitors in his foster home and remains friendly and composed when meeting new people out on walks. Smart and eager, Worf already knows some basic commands and does best with structure, routine, and clear expectations. Continued training will not only strengthen his bond with his future family but also help him grow into an exceptional canine companion.
Worf is already housebroken and crate trained, and he understands the rhythm of home life. He’s the kind of dog who will happily hang out by your desk while you work, patiently waiting for that next play session or walk. While Worf has a great foundation, he will need a little time, patience, and space to decompress as he transitions into his forever home. With the right family, he’s going to absolutely thrive.
If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and loving companion — Worf might just be your perfect match.
