Adopted MAGSR Dogs

Lovely Crimson was a stray who fortunately got picked up by a good samaritan and brought to a shelter. Once there, she waited patiently for a family of her very own. Unfortunately, no one came for Crimson. When contacted by another rescue to bring Crimson in, MAGSR stepped up. 

Crimson is a beautiful and intelligent girl. She gains confidence from a calm and stable handler. Crimson, like all dogs, will benefit greatly from training as it will help her develop into a good canine citizen. At the same time training will also help Crimson bond to her new family. As Crimson is new to the rescue, we are still getting to know her. Please stay tuned for more updates.

Ozzy and his buddy, Saxom, were victims of a house fire. When their family lost their home, they realized that they could no longer provide their dogs with the care that they deserved. As a result, they surrendered the dogs to a shelter. Upon arrival, it was evident that Ozzy and Saxom lacked socialization. They had lived with a pack of dogs; however, it seems that they had limited exposure to new situations and new people. Shelter staff immediately began working with the boys to build trust and move them forward. However, they recognized that Ozzy and Saxom would likely not thrive in a shelter setting. As a result, they sent out a plea for rescue placement. When we learned about the boys, we put plans together to welcome both Ozzy and Saxom into the MAGSR family. 

Ozzy is a timid yet affectionate guy. A little unsure with new people and new situations, Ozzy is looking for a patient household that will give him plenty of opportunities to socialize in a safe way with new people and new environments. Once given time to adjust, Ozzy is playful, affectionate, and a big leaner. He understands the joy of toys and particularly enjoys toys that squeak. Curious and affectionate, Ozzy is settling in with his foster family. As he moves forward, Ozzy will meet with success in a household that provides him with clear structure and routine. He thrives on leadership and confidence. Training is essential for Ozzy. Not only will it help him build a healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. Miss Jackie and her housemate, Mr. Jack, were used for puppies. Their lives have been filled with little care, comfort, or kindness. When their owner decided that it was time for them to move on, their future options were very limited. Fortunately, another rescue heard about their situation and reached out to MAGSR for help. 

Although we knew that both would need some additional love and attention, we also knew they deserved kindness and compassion. Miss Jackie is friendly, interactive, and goofy with her people. She seeks out attention from everyone around and is a bit of a social butterfly. Although Miss Jackie is wonderful with her people, she is not a huge fan of other furry creatures. With a high prey drive, Jackie likely needed this to survive the first 5 years of her life. As a result, she is looking for a home where she can be the sole focus of the family. Miss Jackie has done very well in her previous foster home. She is crate trained and house broken. However, once properly adjusted, she is able to move about freely in the house without causing issues when alone. Having lived in a household, Miss Jackie does understand the rules of living in a home; however, she will need to adjust to the general routine and structure of her forever home. An intelligent girl, Jackie has had some training and knows many of her basic commands. Further training is always positive as this will help Jackie exercise her mind as well as develop a healthy bond with her forever family.

Hank and his buddy, Lana, lived in a home. However, the family often allowed the dogs to roam which angered people within the community. Unable to properly contain both dogs on the property, their family surrendered them to a shelter in the south. Unfortunately, all shelters are overwhelmed at this time which has been forcing staff to make very difficult decisions in regards to who survives. Owner surrenders are typically the first dogs to be euthanized. Knowing that both dogs would likely not survive, several groups began working together to try and find a rescue with the resources to help. Fortunately, a shelter partner reached out to MAGSR in the nick of time. We were pleased to have a place to welcome this pair and provide them with a safe option for moving forward.

Handsome Hank is a sweet, good looking guy. As an attentive and personable boy, he easily catches the attention of everyone around him. Nose driven, this boy doesn't tend to miss a beat in the world around him. Although Hank has lived in a home, we do not know much about his life prior to his arrival in the MAGSR family. It is clear that Hank is a smart guy and picks up new skills quickly particularly, if there are treats involved. Hank is looking for a forever family that will care for him for a lifetime. As is true of all shepherds, he will thrive in a household with clear structure, routine, and leadership. Although he is already learning a few basic commands, Hank will benefit greatly from training. Training is essential as it will not only help Hank develop a strong, healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. 

Unfortunately, we have learned that Hank is heartworm positive. This prognosis could have been avoided if Hank's family had kept him on preventatives. Although treatment is expensive, this social guy is beyond worth the cost. Hank's entire heartworm treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Donations toward his care are greatly appreciated as this will help us not only help this handsome guy but they will also help us continue to support medical dogs in need. Hank will need to take it easy over the next couple months while he completes his treatment. However, this will help him develop a healthy bond with his forever family. Rosa Lea, Ruby Ann, and Benny Blu were dumped in a field in the south. Although this was witnessed, their owner could not be found. Alone and scared, the pups ran when rescuers came to get them. Knowing that these little ones would need help, rescuers waited them out and caught all three a few days later. Although they had a safe place to stay while waiting to be claimed, when no one came forward, we were asked to welcome these babies into the MAGSR family. Our team was thrilled to welcome all three to the rescue. 

Ruby Ann is an easy-going, stable, and loving little girl. She enjoys the company of people of all ages. Clearly well socialized with other animals, Ruby Ann enjoys the company of her furry friends. She can't help but share her love with all of them and is often busy giving out kisses on playdates. A good listener and very attentive, Ruby Ann will be an absolute joy to train. Training is essential as it will help this sweet girl develop into a confident and well-adjusted adult dog. Although Ruby Ann is an absolute lovebug, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, and fill your home with endless antics. With time, patience, training, and socialization, Ruby Ann will develop into the good canine she is destined to be. Lovely little Cobbler is one of Sugar Pie's puppies. Having been born into the rescue, we have had the unique opportunity to watch her grow. Adopted as a puppy, Cobbler's family adored her. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, they could no longer provide for her. Recognizing that Cobbler deserved a safe and loving forever family, they contacted MAGSR to make sure that Cobbler could move forward safely. We immediately welcomed this lovely little girl back into the MAGSR family at 9 months old and promised that we would find her the perfect forever home.

As a young, affectionate, and energetic girl, Cobbler is looking for an active family that will exercise both her body and her mind on a daily basis. She will happily come along for a long walk, run, or hike filling each adventure with puppy smiles and love. As a young dog, it is imperative that Cobbler's family continue to socialize her with new people and animals in controlled settings. This will help her develop into a stable and confident adult. Cobbler has had the luck of having lived in a loving home, as a result, she knows many of the ins and outs of household rules. However, she will need to adjust to the structure, routine, rules of her forever home. This will take time and patience as Cobbler learns expectations. Training will be very important for Cobbler as she moves forward. Not only will it help her develop a health bond with her family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Sweet Sasha was surrendered to MAGSR when her family could no longer care for her. It was highly evident that her mom loved her beyond measure, but she knew that Sasha would have her best chance if she joined the MAGSR family. So, the decision was made to say goodbye. We promised Sasha's family that we would find her a safe and loving family that would fill her days with joy and happiness.

Sasha is a delightful girl. She enjoys the company of her people and easily wins over adoring fans with her lovely personality. Although a little shaken by the sudden change in her world, Sasha has done well with our volunteers and brings many smiles to the people around her. Already crate trained and housebroken, Sasha has already learned many of the rules and expectations of a household. However, as is true of any new dog, she will need some time to adjust to her forever family. Sasha is looking for a family that enjoys daily walks, yummy treats, and plenty of cuddles. She is also hoping that her family will take her to training. Not only will training help Sasha create a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. Sasha is ready for her forever family. Lovely Layla was picked up as a stray and brought to a local shelter. She waited patiently for a family to come and claim her; however, no one stepped forward for this amazing girl. As shelters everywhere are at capacity, staff members began reaching out to rescues for help as they knew that Layla was very special and deserved every chance to find a forever family that would love her for a lifetime. When MAGSR heard the plea for Layla, our team immediately began making preparations to welcome her to the rescue.

Layla is a sweet and affectionate girl. With a goofy personality, it is impossible to avoid smiling when in her presence. She simply spreads joy wherever she goes. Clearly well-socialized, Layla enjoys the company of both human and furry companions. As she arrived at the shelter as a stray, we do not know much about her history or her knowledge of living in a home. However, we do know that someone clearly cared for her at some point and taught her the joy of playtime, snuggles, and some extra pets. Layla is looking for a household that will provide her with the structure, routine, stability, and leadership that all shepherds crave. She is looking forward to participating in training with her forever family. Training is an excellent way to build a strong and healthy bond as well as help Layla develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Joyful Cooper has been moved about a few times in his young life. However, he was lucky that the right people stepped in and recognized that a young, social guy like him would thrive in a household that had the time and energy to work with him. So, they brought Cooper to a local shelter where staff members fell in love with this interactive guy. Although Cooper easily won over the hearts of the shelter team, they recognized that he would be most successful if he found placement through a rescue. When we heard about Cooper's need for placement, we immediately welcomed him to the MAGSR family. 

Cooper is an interactive and social boy. He clearly has had the opportunity to interact with others throughout his puppyhood. Although Cooper definitely has a great start, continued socialization is imperative to his success as an adult. Typical of most young GSDs, Cooper has a lot of energy. It will be essential that Cooper's family exercise his body and his mind on a daily basis. This will help him maintain a stable and confident mindset. Although Cooper is still very young, he has already begun to learn some basic commands. His intelligence, willingness to please, and his food motivation makes him a great student. Cooper will excel in training class. Training will not only help Cooper develop a strong and healthy bond with his family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen that we know that he is destined to be.
