Eugene
ADOPTED 12/28/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Sweet Eugene was picked up as a stray by a local shelter. Although his family was found, they no longer wanted him. Without anyone to claim him, Eugene was left to wait for a new family. MAGSR heard Eugene's story and knew he deserved to move forward with a new family that would commit to him for a lifetime.
Eugene is a friendly guy who likes to talk about his day with his people. Curious about the world around him, Eugene likes to keep himself busy. Eugene is lucky to have moved directly into a foster home where he will learn all about the joys of having a home of his own. As we get to know Eugene, we will post updates on his adventures. If Eugene sounds like a good match for your household, please ask to meet him today.
Updates:Eugene is an absolute sweetheart of a dog and is a classic energetic GSD. He loves to snuggle and is always down for pets. He is a dream on a leash, walking without much pulling at all and showing no reaction to barking dogs in the neighborhood. He loves to play, be it a ball or a rope. Did I mention he loves balls? He really loves chasing balls! He's a strong chewer, managing to cut a thick rope in two while our back was turned, so tough toys are a must. He'll talk to you throughout the day, letting you know he's there but he not a big barker. House broken, he has never had an accident or marked inside the house. As he's been settling into his foster home, he's shown that he knows all basic commands, including sit, stay, down, and leave it. He's still working on drop it as those balls are just too exciting! He's fantastic with adults and older kids. He enjoys exercising his mind with training and play such as hide and seek. We're sure he'd be good with dogs as he doesn't appear to be dog reactive. He's shown no aggressive behaviors. He does play a little rough, so very small children or small dogs might be challenging. We haven't had a chance to test him with cats yet. He gets quite excited when he sees cats or squirrels on walks but doesn't pull on the leash. He is very smart and does test boundaries, such as taking his ball out of the toy box up on a shelf when we are in the other room, but he has yet to get into anything that belongs to the humans in the house. He is still intact and soon to be neutered. All in all, he's a deeply affectionate playful dog and we expect him to make a forever owner very happy. PS- His tale is crazy long and just stunningly beautiful!
Crowley
ADOPTED 12/28/2020!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 16
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Crowley's family made the difficult decision to return him to MAGSR, when Crowley was unable to adjust to living with the resident cats. As he moves forward, Crowley would do best in a home without small animals as his prey drive is simply too strong for them.
Crowley is your typical intelligent, playful, protective, energetic young shepherd. He is a busy guy who will do best in a home where both his mind and body are exercised regularly. Both housebroken and crate trained, Crowley understands the general rules of the household; however, all young dogs will try something from time to time. Having had the benefit of some training, Crowley knows basic commands such as, sit, down, drop it, leave it, and release. Although Crowley has already begun some training, it is essential that this continue as it will help him bond with his new family. If Crowley sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet him today.
Updates:Crowley is enjoying his first week with his foster. Crowley is housebroken, crate trained, and loves his doggy beds. He loves belly rubs & back scratches. He's very quiet in the house, easy to walk and likes to be close to his foster. He listens and knows a lot of his basic commands. Crowley is patiently waiting for us forever home.
Norri
ADOPTED 12/27/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Norri is a young beautiful soul that is looking for a patient, calm, and supportive household. Norri was kept and used as a breeder dog in order to sell her puppies for drug money. Not long after her first litter was born, her owner quickly realized that having her and her puppies was too much work. Norri and her remaining puppies were quickly surrendered to a local shelter. Norri's puppies were adopted out by the shelter leaving Norri behind. The shelter has worked hard to find a rescue to take Norri in and give her the future she deserves. MAGSR was happy to step up and welcome her to the MAGSR family.
Although we are still getting to know Norri, it is clear that even with the uncertain life she has led she is a sweet dog. Shy will thrive in a stable, confident, and patient household. This will provide her with love, guidance and leadership needed to help her develop confidence. As we have the opportunity to learn more about Norri, we will post updates. If Norri sounds like a fit for your household, please ask to meet her today.
Thorson
ADOPTED 12/27/2020!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Fluffy Thorson and his little family found themselves alone and in need on the streets of a big city. Fortunately, a good samaritan found the little family, and got them to safety. When no one came to claim this little family, MAGSR stepped in to help them all find safe and loving homes.
Thorson is a playful and social guy. He, just like his brother, is a big fan of cuddles. While on the streets, Thorson incurred an injury and has resulted in paraphimosis. He will need additional monitoring and a surgery or two in order to heal properly. Multiple surgeries will be expensive, but we know that Thorson is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Thorsen's care as this will not only help us provide him with the support he needs but it will help us help other dogs with medical needs.
Although Thorson is a sweet guy, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Thorson will develop into the good canine citizen he is destined to become.
Charlie
ADOPTED 12/27/2020!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Charlie was a stray to shelter and sadly no family came looking for him. The shelter staff noted him to be super friendly and good with other dogs. We are just getting to know Charlie, but our volunteers have reported that he is a total sweetheart that eagerly sat for his treats and took them gently. We have seen no aggression out of him towards other dogs including the resident little dog in his overnight foster home. Additionally, Charlie was also noted to be gentle with the resident ten year old child during his stay. We know Charlie's past may not have been the best but that has all changed now that he is with MAGSR, we will make sure he finds a loving and caring family that can provide him a home, a comfy bed, good nutrition and care. If you think you would like to add Charlie to your family, please apply today.

However, she is ready to move forward with a family who will love her and provide her with the guidance and leadership that all shepherds crave. Adley will do best with an experienced GSD household that will take a leadership role with her. Lucky Saska is settling in with a foster family so that he can continue to learn the ins and outs of living in a household. If Saska sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet him today.
