Adopted MAGSR Dogs

Casper was found as a stray in a big, busy city. Fortunately, he was brought to a shelter where he waited for his family to claim him. When no one came to claim this big guy, staff members sent out a plea asking for rescues to step up and help Casper find the loving forever home he deserves. 

Casper is a big friendly guy. He hasn't yet to meet an adult or a child that he hasn't liked. As a young dog, Casper has a lot of energy and would be happy to play for hours every day. He is a particularly big fan of the ball. As is true of all GSDs, Casper will thrive in a household where he has guidance, leadership and consistency. Training will go a long way with this big guy as it will help him not only bond to his new family but it will also help him develop into the good canine citizen that he is destined to be. David and Goliath were abandoned. These handsome guys needed help and fast. Fortunately, a good samaritan found them and got them to another rescue. Recognizing that the boys would have their best chance in a different region, they were transferred into the MAGSR family. Although these babies are little sweethearts, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics and can be mischievous - they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, David will develop into the good canine citizen he is destined to become. 

Gypsy's family loved her dearly; however, due to circumstances beyond their control they needed to find her a new home. Although this was a very difficult decision, they wanted to do what was best for Gypsy. As a result, they reached out to MAGSR to help Gypsy find the perfect forever home.

Gypsy is a young and intelligent girl. Like most shepherds, she needs a little time to warm up to people outside of her family; however, when provided with the opportunity to adjust, Gypsy will begin to interact with new people. As is also true of most shepherds, Gypsy thrives with leadership and a confident handler. Having lived in a household, Gypsy is housebroken and understands many of the basic rules of living in a home. As an active girl, Gypsy will benefit from daily exercise of both her mind and body. Sweet Ernie was found wandering around in an unsafe area. Fortunately, some kind people found him and brought him to the safe location where he waited for a family to come and claim him. When no one came for Ernie, he was welcomed into the MAGSR family with the promise that we would find him a loving forever home. Ernie is as sweet as they come. He is friendly with both people and dogs. In many ways Ernie is a blank slate who is ready to move forward with his new family. Like all dogs, Ernie will benefit from training as it will not only help him integrate into his new family, but it will also help him become a good canine citizen. Sweet Zeena's family loved her dearly. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, they were no longer able to care for her. As a result, they made the difficult decision to surrender her. Although this was not an easy decision, it was done in Zeena's best interest.

Zeena is a gentle a loving dog. She has been raised with cats and dogs of various sizes and done well. Having previously lived in a household, Zeena understands many of the household rules already but will likely need a refresher on the specific rules of her new household. Gisela's family loved her dearly. However, due to an unexpected change in circumstances, they were no longer able to care for her. Recognizing that it was in Gisela's best interest to find her a new home, they surrendered her to MAGSR. We promised we would find Gisela a loving forever home.

Gisela is a friendly and playful girl. She is a huge fan of the ball and could play for hours if given the opportunity. As is true of many dogs, Gisela will out the ball but prefers to switch with you instead. In addition to being toy motivated, Gisela is also treat motivated; this will make training a joy. Gisela is an active girl who will do well with a family who can exercise both her body and her mind. If this active girl sounds like a good match for your household, please ask to meet her today. 

Sweet Linus has been passed around a few times over his short line. His most recent household decided they no longer wanted him and the easiest solution was to end his life. Fortunately, another rescue found out about Linus' fate and was able to save him before it was too late. Recognizing they could not provide Linus with the options he deserved, he was transferred to MAGSR to find a loving forever home.

Although Linus has lacked the love and kindness he deserved prior to his rescue placement, he has remained a sweet and affectionate boy. Linus enjoys the company of people and is a big fan of kids. He is already a big guy and he will continue to grow over the next several months. Linus will do well in a household where he is provided with the patience, guidance, and leadership that all shepherds crave. Walker was purchased from a breeder with the intent to use him for breeding. However, his owner discovered how much work breeding and raising GSDs can be and decided that this wasn't going to work out. With this change of heart, Walker's owner decided she no longer wanted him and surrendered him to a shelter.

Walker, like most young GSDs, is a playful and energetic guy. He is friendly and affectionate with people and has been doing well with other dogs. However, he still has a lot to learn about being a good canine citizen. Walker is a big guy who will benefit greatly from routine and structure. He will excel in training and it will help him not only learn expectations but it will also help him bond with his new family. Sweet Finn was pick-up as a stray and brought to another rescue. They took care of this sweet guy while waiting to see if his owner would claim him. Unfortunately, no one came for Finn. Recognizing that Finn would have his best chance at finding a forever home in a different region, the rescue transferred Finn to MAGSR. Finn is a sweet but timid guy. He will need guidance and leadership in order to help him build confidence with new places and people. Training will go a long way for Finn as it will not only help him further build his confidence, but it will also help him bond with his new family. Rollo was clearly a well-loved member of his family. However, when their circumstances changed, Rollo was surrendered to a local shelter. Rollo is a friendly guy. Easy on leash and social with his people, Rollo loves attention and affection. Although Rollo is comfortable with people, he has not had a lot of experience with other dogs and does need to develop his confidence in this area. Rollo will need time to adjust to other dogs and proper introductions are a must. As Rollo has previously lived in a household, he is likely aware of general household rules. However, like any new dog, it will take him some time to adjust to his new family. Training will go a long way to help Rollo with this transition as it will not only help him bond with his new family but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. Rollo is doing wonderfully and has integrated nicely into his foster family. He is warm, friendly and knows and follows basic commands.  He loves getting love and attention, he is a snuggle bug. 

He had a nice Christmas and enjoyed a special chew bone along with the resident German Shepherd dogs Vader and Nala during dinner.  He also shared some treats with them Christmas morning they received in their stockings.   He loves going on walks and being out in the yard.
