Description

Little Lucie was found at animal services by another amazing rescue. Recognizing that this lovely girl needed a safe option to move forward, they welcomed Lucie into their care. Lucie was showered with love and care - exactly what she needed. When visiting with one of our volunteers, a conversation about next steps for Lucie came about. Lucie was clearly a good girl but could use a little support with confidence. Knowing we had an option available that would provide Lucie with exactly what she needed to move forward, we welcomed her to the MAGSR family.

Little Lucie is an absolute sweetheart. Intelligent, responsive, and affectionate, this girl has already brought endless smiles to our volunteers. Still very young, Lucie is in many ways still a puppy. She is goofy, playful, and active. As is true with all of our young dogs, Lucie will need continued socialization in order to meet with success. Opportunities to learn about new people and animals in a variety of safe and controlled environments will help Lucy continue to learn about the world around her. Training will also be critical to Lucie's success. Not only will training help Lucie build a healthy and lasting bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills she needs to become a good canine citizen. Lucie is a lucky girl and has been placed with one of our amazing training partners - Mason Dixon K9. They are already working with Lucie to develop her confidence and obedience. She is already learning so much. As she moves forward, continued training to enhance Lucie's skills will continue to strengthen her foundation. As a little pocket rocket, this little lady may even be a good candidate for agility. Crate trained already, Lucie can't wait to find a family of her very own. She hopes to fill her days with playtime, activities, and cuddles.

Lucie is a joyful girl who is looking for a family that will love her for a lifetime. If this little love sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet Lucie today!

Description

Not all babies come into the world surrounded by love, warmth, and safety. While some are born into nurturing homes that ensure every need is met, others arrive in conditions that are heartbreaking to witness. Sadly, the nine Island Puppies — Country Lemonade, Coconut Bay, Beach Walk, Early Sunrise, Island Guava, Maple Pancake, Mountain Lodge, Pomegranate, and Vanilla Cloud — were born into the latter.

Emaciated, sick, and covered in dirt, feces, and fleas, these fragile babies were confiscated by animal control and brought to a local shelter. Too young to be adopted and far too vulnerable for a shelter environment, a plea for help went out. Thankfully, another rescue organization stepped in with a foster placement and pulled the entire family to safety. From the moment they arrived, it was clear these pups needed immediate and intensive care. Vaccinations were given. Deworming treatments began. Medicated baths washed away layers of neglect. Vet checks were scheduled, feeding schedules established — and slowly, steadily, these babies began to heal.

The Island Litter is a group of true survivors. Despite enduring more hardship in their first few weeks than any puppy should, they remain joyful, loving, and eager to connect. Like all German Shepherds, they are intelligent, energetic, and deeply loyal. Knowing these pups would thrive best within a breed-specific rescue, the organization that initially saved them reached out to MAGSR — and we didn’t hesitate. These puppies deserved the best chance at a safe and happy life, and we were honored to welcome them to the MAGSR family.

Today, the Island Litter is flourishing in foster homes, each one surrounded by love, structure, routine, and care. They’re working hard on crate training and housebreaking, enjoying meals and playtime, and soaking up all the affection they can get. Quick and clever, they’re food-motivated — which makes future training a breeze! But please remember: puppies are a lot of work. They’ll chew, whine, make messes, and keep you on your toes. They’ll also fill your home with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. With consistency, patience, and commitment, each of these pups has the potential to grow into an incredible adult dog.

If you have the heart, time, and dedication to help one of these special puppies continue their journey, apply today. They’ve survived the unimaginable — now they deserve a lifetime of safety, love, and belonging.

Description

This gorgeous boy found himself in the care of another rescue determined to make sure he landed in a safe and loving home. When that rescue later reached out for help with some of the dogs in their care, MAGSR didn't think twice before stepping forward to assist - as we all know, teamwork makes the dream work.

At just a year old, Bear is still discovering the world and learning how to navigate it with curiosity and heart. Like many young dogs, he’s motivated to bond, quick to learn, and ready to belong. Super-smart and hungry for mental stimulation, Bear is soaking up training opportunities and responding well to consistency and positive reinforcement as he learns what it means to be a well-mannered adult. He’s making strides with housebreaking, crate training, and basic manners. With continued structure and guidance, his potential is limitless. Like any new dog, Bear will thrive with routine, leadership, and clear expectations; this will help him adjust smoothly and build a strong bond with his forever family. As a fun, energetic young boy, Bear still has plenty of silly goofball antics and lots of love to give as he matures into his adult self. Like any shepherd, he'll also need a home that will make sure he gets mental and physical exercise on a daily basis. If you’re interested in this handsome guy, ask to meet him today.

Description

Fiona was beyond adored by her family. When they welcomed her into their home as a young pup, they expected to be together for a lifetime. Unfortunately, sometimes life doesn't work out the way we intended. When circumstances changed, Fiona's family knew their special girl deserved more than they could provide. So, they made the heart wrenching decision to find Fiona a safe and loving rescue placement. This decision is never easy; however, Fiona's family did what they knew was best for their fluffy girl. When asked if we could welcome Fiona into the family, team MAGSR immediately began working together to put a plan in place to move her forward. We promised her family we would find this special girl an amazing forever family that would cherish her for a lifetime.

Fiona is an impressive girl. Smart, responsive, and eager to learn, Fiona has a delightful personality that simply evokes endless smiles from her handlers. Clearly well socialized, Fiona enjoys interacting with people. She is bouncy, goofy, and full of endless energy. Typical of the breed, Fiona is a very active girl. She will require an active family that can provide her with daily exercise for both her body and her mind. This is critical to her success as it will help Fiona maintain her playful yet stable personality. As an over-the-top joyful personality, Fiona can be vocal with new furry friends. She simply becomes so excited that she struggles to contain herself. However, when placed with a calm, responsive, and clear handler, Fiona can follow the lead of the handler. Having lived in a loving household, Fiona knows many of the ins and outs of living in a home. She is housebroken, crate trained, and is accustomed to a set routine. As is true of all new dogs, Fiona will need time to adjust to the routines and expectations of her forever family. With time, patience, structure, and training, we know that Fiona will excel. Although Fiona has some manners already in place, it is critical that her new family participate in training. Not only will training help Fiona build a healthy relationship with her forever family, it will also help her develop the skills and strategies needed to become a good canine citizen.

Fabulous Fiona is looking for an adventurous family that will keep her busy during the day and provide her with plenty of snuggles at night. If this amazing girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet Fiona today!

Carley

Adopted: 08/14/2025!

Gender: Female

Breed: German Shepherd Dog

Approximate Age: 5 years

Color: Black & Tan

Current Size: 44 lbs

Ideal/Potential Size: 55 lbs

Housebroken: Yes

Obedience Trained: Working on it

Living with: Foster

History: Shelter

Good with Kids: Likely

Good with Cats: Unknown

Other Dogs OK: Likely

Description

Cuddly Carley was picked up in the south as a stray and brought to animal control. As is true for shelters across the country, this sweetheart found herself in a shelter that was significantly over capacity and needed help in order to move forward. Fortunately, the shelter team knew that options for Carley were limited but that this sweetheart deserved to find a forever family of her very own. So, they reached out to MAGSR for help. Our team agreed that Carley was special and deserved a chance to move forward. A plan began to be put into place for Carley. Volunteers from the shelter where she was located, volunteers from Pilots and Paws, and volunteers from MAGSR came together to move Carley up the coast into a loving MAGSR foster home. Teamwork really does make the dream work.

Charismatic Carley is friendly, affectionate, and rather calm for her age and breed. Her overall easy-going personality has won over the hearts of everyone who has met her. We don't know anything about her past; however, it is beyond obvious that someone along her journey loved Carley and made sure she was socialized appropriately. In addition to people, Carley has done well with other dogs and has yet to show any reactions to cats. This is very impressive for a stray as staying alive often requires some prey drive. Without any knowledge of her previous life, we are going slow in our introductions to household living. However, we know that Carley, like all GSDs, will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. Her foster family is working to ensure that Carley understands the expectations in the household and meets with success. As is true for all new dogs, it is critical that her forever family provide Carley with time and patience to adjust to their household routines. Training will go a long way with Carley. Not only will training help her bond to her new family, but it will also help her develop the skills to become a good canine citizen.

Unfortunately, Carley is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided had she been kept up to date with preventatives. Knowing that Carley needed to move forward with treatment, the shelter began the first steps in this process and our team has taken over care. Heartworm treatment is expensive, but we know Carley is worth more than the cost. Please consider donating to Carley's care. Your donation will not only help Carley, but it will also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs to the MAGSR family. Carley will need to take it easy over the next couple of months during treatment. However, we already know that she will be good at that. This little lady would love to be recuperating in a home of her very own. If Carley sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.

Description

In some places animals are not valued the way you might expect. They are used and often discarded without a second thought. Nasauda and her sister, Arya, were caught up in this practice when they were discarded like trash without the ability to protect or defend themselves. Although many dogs experience this type of abandonment, only the lucky ones survive. This little litter was lucky and the right people found them and brought them to safety. Another rescue welcomed the girls and immediately began providing them with the care, attention, and love they needed to pull through. With the right supports in place, the girls thrived. However, with numbers at catastrophic levels across shelters and rescues, the girls were struggling to find their forever homes. Recognizing that they may be more successful in a breed specific rescue, these little loves were transferred to the MAGSR family. We have promised both girls that we will find them incredible forever families that will love them for a lifetime.

Having lived in a loving and experienced home both girls have been building a solid foundation of skills. They are friendly, social, and affectionate. As socialization is critical to their success, it is imperative that their forever families continue this process as Nasauda and Arya move forward. Living with kids, dogs, and a bunny, these little ladies are doing a wonderful job with everyone. They are quite the impressive pair. Having lived in a foster home, both girls have begun to learn the ins and outs of living in a household. They are pee pad trained and have begun learning to go outside to take care of their business. They have also begun learning how to walk on leash with harnesses and seem to be picking up skills quickly. We can't wait to see what they learn next! As is true of any new pup, Nasauda and Arya will excel with structure, routine, and leadership. They are eager to learn and full of puppy joy.

Although Nasauda and Arya are beyond adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and routine, we know both girls will shine. If you are looking for daily smiles, puppy breath, and cuddles, ask to meet sweet Nasauda today!

Updates:
They are absolutely adorable and very sweet. They have amazing noses and have been using them. Plus, they haven’t eaten any of the children’s toys (yet)! What's more surprising is that even though the sisters had to take many plane rides and car trips to get up to MAGSR from the south, they never had any car sickness or issues - these cuties are troopers! It seems these girls are very clever as both girls, if not completely housebroken, are super close. They do seem to be crate trained already. While they may need a second initially to say hello to new people, they do warm up quickly and their fosters are still helping set them up for success by getting them as much socialization as possible. They are highly treat motivated and very responsive to verbal commands - they're just both a good little set of babies. , Nasuada is doing good at her Foster home. She is progressing well with potty training and getting along with the resident dog.
