Sally and her Cars Puppies were rescued in the south by another group. As they wanted to do right by this lovely family, they began reaching out to other groups who would be able to support the family until they were ready to find forever homes of their own. When asked to welcome this family into the MAGSR family, we immediately said yes.

Murray Clutchburn is a bundle of energy and joy. He is cute as a button and brings happiness to everyone around him. Well socialized in his foster home, Murray Clutchburn is a match for a household with kids, cats, or other dogs. Although Murray Clutchburn's foster family has given him an excellent start, it is imperative that his new family continues to keep Murray Clutchburn well socialized. This will help him develop into a stable adult. Although Murray Clutchburn is absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics, they get into things, and they will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, and training, Murray Clutchburn will develop into the good canine citizen that we know he is destined to become. If this little guy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today.

Updates:

Murray is growing and learning so much.   He is crate trained, housebroken, knows sit and down and is learning to walk on a leash. He spends lots of time with his foster's grandchildren and is great with them. He has puppy energy but once he gets a nice walk or 30 minutes of playtime, he is ready for snuggles!   His foster said "Murray is one of the easiest puppies I’ve ever fostered and would be a great addition to any family"!    Let’s get this guy adopted!

DESCRIPTION:

Lovely Sierra was picked up as a stray. When she arrived at a shelter it was highly evident that this girl had been struggling to survive. Sierra was emaciated and infested with fleas that had caused a skin infection. As shepherds often struggle in shelters, Sierra needed help and fast. Vet care was quickly provided and this little lady immediately moved into MAGSR's care. Sierra enjoys the company of people and other dogs; however, she lacks confidence which can cause her to overbond to her people. As she moves forward, Sierra will benefit greatly from training; it will not only help her bond appropriately to her new family, but it will also help her learn to take cues from the handler. She will meet with greatest success in a household that has experience with the breed. We are still getting to know Sierra. As we know more about her, we will post updates. If Sierra sounds like a good match for your household, please ask to meet her today.

Updates:

Sierra has been a foster home for a few days and has proven she is a loving and faithful companion with the people she trusts.  She takes time to warm up to new people and does not like being approached but is highly food motivated and will come to you for that.  Sierra is an affectionate, intelligent, loyal girl who wants nothing more than to be with her person.  On the first day I received kisses and she was on her back enjoying belly rubs and all the pets!  She is housebroken and sleeps quietly through the night.  She does not get on furniture or chew things she should not.  She loves to play tug, go for walks, indulge in a marrow bone, and get lots of attention.  She is a sweet and sassy 1 yr old GSD and likes to romp around but gets overly excited and not quite sure how to play but with time that will improve. She will need time to adjust to other dogs and does ok if on leash and being monitored at this time.  Sierra is incredibly intelligent and has adapted quickly to her new living situation she knows sit, down, and come. She will do best in a home with GSD experience, one that is familiar with fear reactivity, and one that will provide a structured environment.  She has a proclivity to barrier reactivity and overly bonding to handler and can exhibit a negative reaction. Sierra will be attending board and train soon which will help work on her insecurities and become the amazing and obedient companion she can be.  This will be a huge plus for any adopter since Sierra's training package will come with her at adoption and the adopter will follow up with the private and group lessons that are paid for by MAGSR and if there are any setbacks the adopter can go back to training free of charge for the life of the dog!  Sierra continues to make progress everyday and an update will be posted upon completion of the board and train.  Sierra is a diamond in the ruff and will make the perfect addition to the right family.

Howdy folks, I have completed my board and train and am ready to WOW my future family with my skillz.  During training I met some cool humans who reminded me that being confident is good and that will benefit me in the long haul but being overly demanding and pushy is not the way to get what I want.  I had previously fought the leash and commands but now I know through consistency, repetition, leash pressure, hand signals and verbal commands what is being asked of me.  When communication is clear to me from my handler I excel.  Another thing I learned while at training was that being alone is okay and that I do not need to throw myself into a tizzy when people leave me.  Actually, I can be content to just chew my favorite bully stick or marrow bone in peace.  I still require a crate to help make me feel safe but it's not a bad place and I know now that bad things will not happen to me.  As for other dogs, I tolerate them but being the dominant dog that I am, if they do try to overstep the boundary, I react negatively.  This is why I do prefer to be the only child..... I mean dog.  Speaking of children I'm not sure what these creatures are but they make loud and unpredictable movements which scare me and when I'm afraid I revert back to my old habit of reacting.  At my young impressionable age I was not shown kindness or socialized with people and I'm just now figuring out that these humans can be good to me.  I am a snuggle bug but I will not get on furniture, I will however, lean into you and immediately roll on my back for belly rubs. I do that thing I hear the humans talk about, bonding.  I'm the epitome of the velcro dog and in a home environment I just need to know the human is in charge and I can follow their lead.  My intelligence, loyalty, confidence and affectionate personality are what draw humans to me but you need to know what your doing, or at least that's what I overheard the trainer humans say.  I will give you my very best when clearly communicated to, I need a handler who can give me structure, time, consistency and love.  When you adopt me you have the unique opportunity to complete my private training lessons and group lessons free of charge.  The quote "with great power, comes great responsibility" and that is precisely what you are being given with me.  Are you up to the challenge?

Ranger

Ranger

Breed: German Shepherd Dog
Approximate Age: 8 years 11 months
Color: Black & Tan
Current Size: 65 lbs
Ideal/Potential Size: 70 lbs
Housebroken: Likely
Obedience Trained: No
Altered: Yes

Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
Good With Cats: Unknown

DESCRIPTION:

Sweet Ranger was brought to a local vet as his family decided that they wanted him euthanized. It was evident that Ranger needed some medical care for an untreated skin infection; however, staff members quickly recognized that this delightful guy deserved a chance at life with a family that would commit to him for a lifetime. Fortunately, they were able to convince Ranger's family to surrender him to them. Once safe, the vet staff immediately began addressing Ranger's needs.

Ranger had untreated skin issues that had caused a lot of hair-loss, flaking, and itchiness. It is believed that everything began with an allergy that when untreated and resulted in a secondary yeast/fungal infection that got out of hand. He has been given a course of antibiotics, steroids, and medicated baths which have already begun to have a positive impact. In addition to skin issues, sweet Ranger also had significant bilateral ear infections that have since been treated. Although his appearance may not match his impressive personality right now, we fully expect him to regrow his lovely coat.

Please consider donating to Ranger's care.

A stable and friendly guy, Ranger seems to enjoy the company of his people. He is a playful guy and will happily fetch a ball and drop it for another throw. A big fan of squeaky toys, Ranger smiles while he plays. Although he is still a little sensitive around his ears, which is likely due to the severity of his ear infections, Ranger loves attention and happily rewards his people with kisses. Once comfortable, he will ask for belly rubs as well. As a social guy, Ranger can be vocal at first when left alone but he quiets down quickly. Having had the opportunity to meet dogs of a variety of sizes and temperaments, Ranger's confident and easy-going personality wins everyone over. Ranger will need to continue to have regular baths to help his skin clear up and will need to be kept on a low ingredient food in order to keep his allergies in check. This sweet boy is looking for a family that will commit to loving him for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
