Big Mama
ADOPTED 06/13/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
ig Mama's family surrendered her to a shelter in the south. Confused by this massive change in her life, Big Mama was very unsure when she first entered the shelter. Recognizing that Big Mama needed a safe place to decompress and find a family that would commit to her for a lifetime, a rescue plea was sent out.
Big Mama is a beautiful and energetic young girl. She is curious, playful, and adventurous. As is true of many young dogs, Big Mama will thrive in an environment with structure and routine. Daily activities to help Big Mama work both her body and her mind will be needed. Training will be critical to Big Mama's success; it will not only help her bond to her new family, but it will also help her develop into a good canine citizen. If Big Mama sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Isa
ADOPTED 06/13/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Isa and her siblings - Adira, Knox, and Beckett - were dumped on a country road. Emaciated and clearly lacking care, these babies needed help and fast. When a kind member of the community discovered what had happened to the puppies, they moved quickly to help these babies find safety. Recognizing that these little orphans would have their best chance at finding safe and loving forever homes with a rescue, a plea for help went out.
Isa is a love. Having the benefit of recuperating in a foster home, she has had the opportunity to start learning about the comforts of living in a home. Her foster household has also taken the important step of beginning to socialize her with other people, dogs, and situations. Continued socialization is critical to Isa's success as she grows. Although Isa is a doll, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics, they get into things, and they will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, and training, Isa will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. If this little girl sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today.
Harry & Diana
ADOPTED 06/12/2021!
Good With Kids: Unknown
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Handsome Harry and his housemates, Megan and Diana, were confiscated from their owner. Although all three dogs get along with one another, it appears that Harry and Diana are closer to one another. They have relied on one another for comfort and safety and clearly enjoy the companionship of another dog. When confiscated, it was clear to animal control officers that these three were not well cared for or socialized around other people. As a result, they all require some time to adjust to new people and situations.
When provided with patience, confidence, and leadership, Harry's interactive and affectionate personality begins to shine. It is simply amazing how a dog that has gone through so much is willing to give people another chance to earn his trust. In the same circumstances, Diana becomes more interactive and begins to trust her handlers. She does best when given the opportunity to warm up slowly to new people. Having survived a difficult situation, we have been impressed with her continued attempts to trust people. With the right family, Harry and Diana will excel. As is true of all dogs, Harry and Diana will benefit from training.
We are confident that with the right family, Harry & Diana will excel. Both of them, like all dogs, will benefit from training. This will not only help him bond to their new family, but it will also help them develop into good canine citizens. If your household sounds like the right match for this incredible pair, please ask to meet them today.
Updates:
After arriving in MAGSR's care, it became quite apparent to our volunteers that Harry and Diana would be best placed in a home together. These two beautiful pups have survived a life of neglect. However, they seem to find comfort and safety when together. Each of them contributes to their relationship and helps the other learn to adjust to new people and situations. Although it takes some time and patience to gain their trust, Harry and Diana are definitely food motivated. High-value treats are always welcome and seem to help when building trust. Once comfortable, Harry and Diana enjoy affection and definitely have the "shepherd lean" down pat. If your family has room for two, please consider opening your home to this special pair.
Harry and Diana are housebroken, crate trained, they don't get on furniture or beg for food. They enjoy their daily walks but can't wait to get back home. As they have become more comfortable in their foster home they are building more confidence and have started to play. Harry's safe place is in his crate and that is where he likes to go to sleep at night but in the morning his fosters find him sleeping on the rug next to Diana. They share their dinner and breakfast by going from one bowl to the other. Diana likes all the attention, if Harry is getting some lovin, she will come over and try to bump him out of the way. These two are very laid back, if you are looking for a loving bonded pair of dogs contact us. We would love to have you meet them.
Annika
ADOPTED 06/06/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes, older kids
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Annika was returned to MAGSR's care after incidents with the other dog of the household, as well as the cat. She will be looking for a forever family where she can be the sole animal in the home to be the center of attention.
Annika is a beautiful young adult with a big personality. She is extremely intelligent and observant of her environment. She also forms strong bonds with her humans and is very affectionate. Annika will be protective of the house once she sees it as her place. She will thrive with a confident handler and structured training to bring out her potential, because she lives for meaningful interactions with her people. She is active and a jumper, and may be a candidate for agility training or other activities that engage her intelligence.
She loves tummy rubs and affection, walks, and interactive games. She learns quickly when pepperoni treats are on hand, and will even play a good game of hide and seek the treat. Annika likes her crate and is fully house trained. She walks well on the leash, learns commands quickly, loves car rides and exploring new environments like trails and parks.
If sweet Annika sounds like the right match for your family, please ask to meet her today.
Updates:Annika continues to practice and learn commands - including sit, stay, lie down, go to bed (she runs into her crate), go find (hide and seek treats), and when waiting for the walk signal at intersections she’ll sit with a snap of the fingers. With a few taps to your shoulder she’ll snuggle up and fall asleep. She loves her humans and is forever ready for a walk, demonstrating excellent leash walking manners (until a squirrel crosses her path, but who could blame her for wanting to catch one?). She has no problem meeting other dogs on walks, she simply doesn’t wish to live with them. Annika is thoroughly house trained, staying at home for hours on her own snoozing on the couch until it’s time to greet you at the door with eager tail wags.
Jaxin
ADOPTED 06/05/2021!
Good With Kids: Yes
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Jaxin's family loved him dearly. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they needed to find him a new home. Although this was a very difficult decision, they knew it was in Jaxin's best interest to rehome him. We promised that we would find Jaxin a safe and loving forever home that would help him move forward.
Jaxin is a big, beautiful guy. Having lived with littles, Jaxin is very comfortable with babies and toddlers. He was often found snuggling with them in his previous household. He is also a big fan of furry company and will likely be most successful with a female dog for companionship. As a strong and intelligent guy, Jaxin will benefit from training. This will not only help him bond to his new family but it will also help him develop the skills and training he needs to become a good canine citizen. If Jaxin sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet him today.
