Harley

I've been adopted, thanks to MAGSR but so many more dogs need their help. Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Harley has been a cherished member of her family for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Harley's family was no longer able to provide her with the life that they knew she deserved. Recognizing that Harley deserved more than they could give, her family made the difficult decision to return her to MAGSR. We promised Harley's family that we would find her a loving and safe forever home.
Harley is a sweet and affectionate girl. She has the benefit of living in a home where she has been socialized with kids, cats, and other dogs. In fact, Harley has had the opportunity to participate in regular doggy day care field trips for several years and absolutely loves these days. She can't help but get excited around other dogs, that's just what social butterflies do. As Harley's family knew they wanted the best for her, they made sure she learned her commands and even added in a few tricks. Harley has a solid understanding of the leash and enjoys her daily outings. Although Harley has a solid foundation already, it will be important that her new family take her to training. This will not only help her further brush up on her skills but it will also help her bond to her new family. We are sure that Harley will be the star of the class. Having lived in a household, Harley understands the rules of living in a home. She is housebroken and crate trained. Her crate is her happy space and Harley can often be found in it snuggled up and either napping or just hanging out. Harley is looking for a family that will continue to cherish her and provide her with the love and attention she so clearly deserves. Jasmine

Stunning Jasmine was surrendered to a local shelter as her family fell on hard times and could no longer care for her. They surrendered her to the shelter hoping that Jasmine would find a forever family that could care for her for a lifetime. As many shelters are overcrowded right now, shelter staff felt that Jasmine would have her best chance at finding the perfect forever family if she was transferred to a rescue.
Jasmine is in many ways your young, goofy, energetic shepherd. She greatly enjoys the company of her people and already knows a few commands. As is true of any young dog, Jasmine will thrive with training and consistency. Not only does Jasmine enjoy the company of people, she also enjoys the company of other dogs. It is evident that her family worked hard to make sure she was appropriately socialized. Jasmine's new family will need to continue to provide her with opportunities to socialize in a variety of environments as this will help her further develop into a stable and confident adult dog. Sweet little Ash was picked up as a stray in the south. This cute little guy was brought to a crowded shelter where staff knew he would need a little extra TLC so that he could find a forever home that would love him for a lifetime. Recognizing that Ash should be transferred to a rescue, they reached out to MAGSR for help. We knew this little guy would be a great addition to the MAGSR family.
Ash is an absolute sweetheart but it is clear that he has lived through some difficult circumstances in his short life. As a result, he is definitely a shy guy. Often choosing the comfort and safety of his crate as a refuge while he adjusts, Ash is a quiet and somewhat timid guy. It will be critical that Ash's forever family work with him on socialization with people and other animals. This is essential for all young dogs as it helps them develop into confident and stable adults. Training will also be key for Ash as it will help him bond to his forever family as well as learn the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Ash is looking for a loving forever family that will give him the time, patience, structure, and love he needs to blossom. In return he will provide a lifetime of love and loyalty. Updates:Ash is doing well transitioning to his foster home. He enjoys following the other dogs and prefers their company over human companionship at this time. He really enjoys running and playing in the yard, resting with a Nylabone as well as the safety of his crate. Ash is very nervous and shy around people. He is not aggressive, and will go into his crate when feeling scared. He will need a calm and patient family to give him time, training and structure. He would love to have a playful canine sibling as a good role model. He would do best with older calm children As he is not aggressive but very scared about sudden actions and loud noises.
Asher

Asher and his sister, Izzy Bee, were well-loved members of their family. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, Asher and Izzy Bee's family was not able to continue to care for them. As a result, they made the difficult decision to surrender both dogs to MAGSR. We promised Asher and Izzy Bee's family that we would find them an amazing forever home that would care for them for a lifetime.
Asher is an affectionate guy. He enjoys the company of his people and other dogs. Having grown up with Izzy Bee, Asher has grown accustomed to the presence of another dog. However, he would also do well as the only dog in the household so that he can enjoy all of the attention. Although Asher did live with a small child, he is uneasy around little kids. They often move so fast and have unpredictable movements. Asher would prefer a forever home with older children or without children. Having lived on a large piece of land, Asher has enjoyed romping and playing about outside. Although Asher loves to be outside, he hasn't had a lot of experience on a leash. Our volunteers have already begun teaching Asher some leash manners. However, he will benefit from further training with his new family. Training will not only help Asher bond to his new family but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen. Asher is looking for a loving family that will provide him with the structure, leadership, and routine that all dogs crave. Zendaya

Sweet Zendaya was picked up as a stray in the south. The shelter director couldn't believe that this little girl wasn't claimed as she is simply a love. Unfortunately, due to extensive overcrowding, once Zendaya's stray hold was up, she needed a rescue pull. MAGSR couldn't help but fall in love with this little girl. We were so very excited to welcome her to the MAGSR family.
Zendaya is a little honey. Her sunshiney personality brings light and joy to everyone around her. A big fan of attention and belly rubs, Zendaya happily flops over for as much love as she can possibly get. Although we do not know anything about Zendaya's past, it is highly evident that she was socialized with people and dogs. She plays very well with others. Although Zendaya is a doll, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, and training, Zendaya will develop into the good canine citizen we know she is destined to become. Sweet Zendaya apparently contracted an upper respiratory infection somewhere in her travels and it, unfortunately, developed into pneumonia. She had a hacking cough, purulent nasal discharge, sneezing, difficulty breathing and lethargy (for a puppy). Despite all of this, she continued to act much like a happy puppy but a low energy one. Her foster took her to the vet. She was started on antibiotics and the vet recommended x-rays. MAGSR immediately agreed to the x-rays and thank goodness we did. The x-rays clearly demonstrated just how sick this little one was. She was taken to the emergency clinic and started on intravenous antibiotics and fluids. The emergency staff were smitten with her exuberant personality. Fortunately, she only needed a one night stay and was sent home after 24 hours with more antibiotics. She'll need follow-up x-rays in two weeks. Her foster reports that her energy level has increased but to what level? We're really not sure but those IV antibiotics really seem to have made a difference.
Zendaya is a young girl and is going to have lots of energy to burn. She has no training and has learned to sit but when her food bowl is involved it's more of a kangaroo jump/sit. She is treat motivated. She doesn't have any leash manners and leashing has been a little bit of a challenge as any compression on her trachea produced coughing. This sweet girl will need lots of structure and training. She is smart, sweet and beautiful and has so much to learn. She gets along fine with the resident dogs and is conflict avoidant. She is looking for a forever home to provide a lifetime of love and adventures. Could this be you?
