Adopted MAGSR Dogs

Annika was returned to MAGSR's care after incidents with the other dog of the household, as well as the cat. She will be looking for a forever family where she can be the sole animal in the home to be the center of attention. 

Annika is a beautiful young adult with a big personality. She is extremely intelligent and observant of her environment. She also forms strong bonds with her humans and is very affectionate. Annika will be protective of the house once she sees it as her place. She will thrive with a confident handler and structured training to bring out her potential, because she lives for meaningful interactions with her people. She is active and a jumper, and may be a candidate for agility training or other activities that engage her intelligence.

She loves tummy rubs and affection, walks, and interactive games. She learns quickly when pepperoni treats are on hand, and will even play a good game of hide and seek the treat. Annika likes her crate and is fully house trained. She walks well on the leash, learns commands quickly, loves car rides and exploring new environments like trails and parks.

Stunning Jasmine was surrendered to a local shelter as her family fell on hard times and could no longer care for her. They surrendered her to the shelter hoping that Jasmine would find a forever family that could care for her for a lifetime. As many shelters are overcrowded right now, shelter staff felt that Jasmine would have her best chance at finding the perfect forever family if she was transferred to a rescue.

Jasmine is in many ways your young, goofy, energetic shepherd. She greatly enjoys the company of her people and already knows a few commands. As is true of any young dog, Jasmine will thrive with training and consistency. Not only does Jasmine enjoy the company of people, she also enjoys the company of other dogs. It is evident that her family worked hard to make sure she was appropriately socialized. Harley has been a cherished member of her family for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Harley's family was no longer able to provide her with the life that they knew she deserved. Recognizing that Harley deserved more than they could give, her family made the difficult decision to return her to MAGSR. We promised Harley's family that we would find her a loving and safe forever home.

In fact, Harley has had the opportunity to participate in regular doggy day care field trips for several years and absolutely loves these days. She can't help but get excited around other dogs, that's just what social butterflies do. As Harley's family knew they wanted the best for her, they made sure she learned her commands and even added in a few tricks. Harley has a solid understanding of the leash and enjoys her daily outings. Although Harley has a solid foundation already, it will be important that her new family take her to training. Sweet little Ash was picked up as a stray in the south. This cute little guy was brought to a crowded shelter where staff knew he would need a little extra TLC so that he could find a forever home that would love him for a lifetime. Often choosing the comfort and safety of his crate as a refuge while he adjusts, Ash is a quiet and somewhat timid guy. It will be critical that Ash's forever family work with him on socialization with people and other animals. This is essential for all young dogs as it helps them develop into confident and stable adults. Training will also be key for Ash as it will help him bond to his forever family as well as learn the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Asher and his sister, Izzy Bee, were well-loved members of their family. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, Asher and Izzy Bee's family was not able to continue to care for them. As a result, they made the difficult decision to surrender both dogs to MAGSR. We promised Asher and Izzy Bee's family that we would find them an amazing forever home that would care for them for a lifetime. 

Asher is an affectionate guy. He enjoys the company of his people and other dogs. Having grown up with Izzy Bee, Asher has grown accustomed to the presence of another dog. However, he would also do well as the only dog in the household so that he can enjoy all of the attention. Although Asher did live with a small child, he is uneasy around little kids. They often move so fast and have unpredictable movements. Asher would prefer a forever home with older children or without children. Having lived on a large piece of land, Asher has enjoyed romping and playing about outside. Although Asher loves to be outside, he hasn't had a lot of experience on a leash. Our volunteers have already begun teaching Asher some leash manners. However, he will benefit from further training with his new family. Training will not only help Asher bond to his new family but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen.
