Adopted MAGSR Dogs

Baby Girl and her siblings were part of an accidental litter. Her family loved her greatly and took good care of her and her siblings. However, as the puppies grew older, it became difficult to take care of so many dogs. Recognizing that Baby Girl and her siblings would be better able to receive the care and attention they deserved if they were rehomed, Baby Girl's owner made the difficult decision to surrender the group of siblings to MAGSR. We promised that we would find each member of the family safe and loving forever homes. 

Baby Girl is a sweetheart. She was well socialized in her home with kids and other dogs. However, her family struggled to find time to socialize her in the community. As a result, Baby Girl can be a little timid with new people and in new places. Given time, patience, and guidance, Baby Girl will develop the confidence she needs outside of the household. Just like any young dog, Baby Girl will thrive with structure, routine and training. Training will help her to not only bond with her new family but also develop into the stable adult we know she is destined to be. Sally and her Cars Puppies were rescued in the south by another group. As they wanted to do right by this lovely family, they began reaching out to other groups who would be able to support the family until they were ready to find forever homes of their own. When asked to welcome this family into the MAGSR family, we immediately said yes. 

Lightning McQueen is a bundle of energy and joy. He is cute as a button and brings happiness to everyone around him. Well socialized in his foster home, Lightning McQueen is a match for a household with kids, cats, or other dogs. Although Lightning McQueen's foster family has given him an excellent start, it is imperative that his new family continues to keep Lightning McQueen well socialized. This will help him develop into a stable adult. Although Lightning McQueen is absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy antics, they get into things, and they will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, and training, Lightning McQueen will develop into the good canine citizen that we know he is destined to become. Zane was surrendered by his family as an elderly member of the family became ill and required daily support in the home, Zane struggled with the constant in and out of strangers in his home. Recognizing that this change in situation is likely a long term, his family made the decision to surrender him to MAGSR. 

Zane is an intelligent and energetic guy. He has lived previously with older children and dogs his size or larger. Having previously lived in a household, Zane knows many of the basic household rules already. Crate trained, housebroken, and knows several commands, Zane is a smart and driven guy. Although he enjoys moving sneakers about the house, Zane doesn't destroy items in the household but does enjoy rearranging them.  As is true of most shepherds, Zane can be protective of his household and needs time and proper introductions to strangers when they are in his household.

When Zane entered the rescue, it was very evident that he was handshy due to abuse. This caused him to react quickly to hand movements. Recognizing that Zane would need additional support in order to move forward, MAGSR has been working with K9 Koncepts to support Zane over the last few months. During this time, Zane has benefitted from a board and train program where he has learned all of his commands and has been working to desensitize him to hand movements. Zane is best suited for a home with previous GSD experience. His new family would continue working with K9 Koncepts to learn about his training and commands. This training is already covered by MAGSR. Zane is looking for a family that will provide him with the guidance, leadership, and safety that all dogs deserve. Is your home the right fit?

Lovely Layla was cherished by her family. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer care for her. Recognizing that she deserved a loving household that could provide her with the time, attention, and training she needs to meet with success, they made the difficult decision to surrender her. We promised Layla's family that we would find her the perfect forever home. 

Layla is in many ways your typical GSD. She is intelligent, energetic, and looking for guidance. Having lived in a household, Layla understands many of the ins and outs of living in a home. However, as is true of any new home, she will need time to adjust in her forever home. Layla has been socialized with kids and other dogs. She will continue to benefit from slow, proper introductions as this will give her the opportunity to build healthy relationships. As is true of all GSDs, Layla will also benefit greatly from training. Not only will this help her bond to her new family, but it will also help her develop into a confident canine citizen. Sweet Moose lived with a family. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide him with basic vetting care which resulted in Moose contracting parvo. As this horrifying disease takes so many lives too soon, Moose needed help and fast. Although Moose's family loved him, they could not afford his care and brought him to a shelter. Fortunately, the shelter found the resources to get Moose the life saving care he needed. Having overcome the odds, shelter staff knew that Moose deserved a loving forever home. When they reached out to MAGSR for help, we immediately stepped forward. 

Moose is a love. However, he was undersocialized in his previous home. As a result, Moose needs a little time to warm up to new people and new situations. Socialization is critical as it helps build stable and confident dogs. Moose's forever family will need to provide him with opportunities to learn about the world around him. Training will be key to Moose's success. Not only will it help him bond to his new family, but it will also help him develop into a good canine citizen.
