Willoughby
ADOPTED 05/15/2016!
Good With Kids: Yes

Willoughby is a male German Shepherd mix who is approx. 10 months old. He is a submissive male who gets along with everybody. Willoughby has an easy-going personality and is not a difficult dog at all. This super sweet doll baby would be a perfect family dog and would enjoy being part of any family activity. Willoughby has so much love to give and just wants a home of his own.
Updates:Willoughby has been in his foster home now for almost 2 weeks and is settling in nicely. His foster parents like to call him "Willow" and report that he has proven to be a polite & very well-behaved house guest. He loves his toys - especially his stuffed 'babies!' He is fully housebroken, calm, great on the leash & he rides quietly in the car. Willow has played with both female resident dogs & has done great. He also play-bows with the other resident dog (a male Malinois) through the crate door. Willow is learning basic obedience commands with his foster parents and he takes treats very gently - he is affectionate and is such a good dog, Ask to meet Willoughby today.
Willow has been in his foster home for about a month. He is gaining confidence and plays with all 3 resident dogs - including an alpha male Malinois. He loves his toys: balls, bones & especially his stuffed hedgehog! Willow rarely barks unless he is playing or wants attention. He does exhibit some prey drive towards wildlife. He would fit in well in an active household & probably would do very well if he had some canine playmates! If Willoughby sounds like a good match for your family, please ask to meet him.

Bowden
ADOPTED 05/13/2016!
Good With Kids: Older kids, over 10
Will you help them by donating or volunteering?
Bowden is a very a exuberant boy. He's all puppy and exhibits all the normal puppy behaviors. Bowden is an intelligent boy that would benefit and excel in a training class. Training is a must for all our dogs and we have been working with Bowden on his basic commands. Bowden LOVES toys, enjoys long walks and does very well on car rides. He is a very active and a bit high energy. Bowden will be attending events. Watch our website for a opportunity to meet this happy boy.
Updates:Bowden is fairly social with strangers and can be okay with other dogs with proper leash management. However, he does not need the presence of another dog and would thrive as an only dog. While Bowden does like toys, he tends to claim them and does not easily give them up. As training is required, Bowden's adopters should begin training soon after adopting to help lay the groundwork for a healthy foundation. He is treat motivated and rides well in the vehicle. From what we have seen, he does not like cold weather, rain, snow or wind and he would rather be inside where it's comfy rather than outside exploring.
Hobart
ADOPTED 05/11/2016!
Good With Kids: No

This is Hobart. We can't say enough good things about this little guy. Hobart is a kennel favorite. He is so cute with a friendly disposition. Hobart will fit into any family. He is just happy being among our volunteers and smiles at everyone that passes by. His coloring is beautiful and his picture don't do him justice. If you would like to meet this sweet boy please inquire today you won't be disappointed.
Updates:Hobart is unsure of new people at first and the best way to get to know him is to ignore him and let him approach you. Patience is key here. He's not a dog that will openly greet strangers as they concern him. However, when he becomes comfortable occupying the same space, then he begins to relax. Once he gets to know you, he's actually a pretty cool guy! He walks nicely on leash, likes car rides and is treat motivated. He also likes to play fetch. Those of us who regularly see him at the kennel enjoy his company and vice-versa. When he sees his favorite people at the kennel, he eagerly waits for them to get him out of his kennel run. He has some prey drive and is quite stimulated by squirrels, various wildlife and the occasional passing car. Hobart can be okay in the presence of other calm dogs while under strict leash management. He is not one to engage in play with other dogs and he would thrive in a home as an only dog. He's his own man and is not a clingy dog. Hobart would do best in an adult home where there is not lot of new people coming and going. But if you have a home with a lot of consistency and are looking for a dog to take leisurely daily walks, they just might fit the bill.
