Maize is a beautiful female German Shepherd puppy who is 16 weeks old. Maize is highly treat motivated, loves toys especially balls, is crate trained, about 80% house-trained, not leash trained yet. Cute, wiggly, kissy, loving - all the good things that puppies are. Maize is still a puppy and will need a patient adopter and the full range of obedience training to make her the best dog she can be.
Updates: Candi

  ADOPTED 03/05/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown

Candi has been on the loose for approximately 4 years after she got loose from her family. Candi came to MAGSR after MAGSR volunteers tracked her and captured her. Candi is understandably confused, skittish and very lucky! Since Candi has lived on the run for so many years, she will be considered a flight risk until MAGSR volunteers have time to work with her. Since her capture, Candi is doing well, but timid - little does she know that he is on her way, through MAGSR, to a new life. Please check back for updates on Candi as MAGSR gets to know her over the next couple of weeks.
Updates:Candi has been with us just over for a week now and we have learned a lot about her this week. She was actually out on her own for about 4 1/2 years. However, she has a sweet, gentle nature and likes other dogs. Though she is timid, she is learning that human contact is a good thing and is responding very well to us. She will climb in your lap, will take treats and is settling in nicely at the kennel where she currently resides. She will be a flight risk for some time to come and this cannot be overstated at this time. But on leash, she's willing to go where you request of her. Oddly enough, though she has been on her own for several years, she is showing signs of being house broken as she keeps her kennel run very clean. She would do well in a home with a well balanced dog that she can learn from. She will not get any bigger than what she is now at 25.5lbs. Though she is not your typical big, formidable looking shepherd, she has a lot of heart. She's a tough dog that made it through a lot of tough times and she deserves a family that will commit to her keeping her safe and loving her for the rest of her life.

Rook is approximately 10 months old, neutered male, black. Great temperament, gets along well with other dogs but has dominant tendencies. Loves people, very social! Crate/house trained, rides well in the car. Good on leash, working on verbal/non verbal commands. Okay with cats but ONLY WITH SUPERVISION! High energy/working drive, he requires an experienced handler that will work with him, keeping his energy level in check with daily physical and mental stimulation. Rook is no couch potato, so please be sure you can handle a high engery dog.

Sweet, beautiful Maggie is all puppy, full of life and spunk. She is a blank slate ready to learn all that she needs to know. Puppies are a lot of work, they require your undivided attention, exercise, playtime and training. Please be sure that you have the time to devote to her training and socialization, as this is key to having well rounded adult dog.
Updates:Sweet and beautiful Maggie is a loving, spunky puppy. At about 8 months old, Maggie loves playing with the other puppies in her foster home. She is curious and likes to get her nose into everything. She bonds really quickly, and loves to be around people all the time. Maggie is a tad bit skittish and needs a lot of socialization and patience to get used to her new surroundings. Maggie is looking for a forever home, where she can be around people and take walks every day. As a puppy, Maggie will need training and plenty of exercise, but will make a great family dog. Maggie is dog friendly, crate trained, and kid friendly.
        Stella

  ADOPTED 03/04/2016!
Good With Kids: Unknown

Stella was a stray and ended up in a shelter. She is estimated to be 1-2 yrs old. She is a beautiful girl with a friendly personality. She can be picky with her dog friends, she does better with a well mannered dog who is not up her face. Training will help with this and also will teach her good dog manners. It also helps create a bond between the dog and their new family, because everyone learns what to expect from each other.
