Adopted MAGSR Dogs

Wonderful Winchester was picked up as a stray in the south. Like so many dogs he was on his way to an overcrowded animal shelter, fortunately, another rescue stepped in to help. Winchester waited patiently for his family to come and claim him. However, when no one came forward after his stray hold, the other rescue began looking for a family that would welcome him into their home. They thought Winchester had found his forever family, however, at the last second, the family changed their mind and Winchester was left without a place to go. Knowing this boy deserved better, the rescue reached out to MAGSR for help. We knew this guy would be a great addition to the family and welcomed him in. 

Winchester is definitely a handsome guy both inside and out. He is social, energetic, and intelligent. Clearly well socialized with other animals, Winchester understands many of the social rules needed to meet with success with his furry friends. Also well socialized with people, Winchester is interactive and playful. As is true of all young shepherds, it is critical that his family continue to provide him with the structure, routine, leadership, and socialization needed to meet with success. Winchester was lucky to have been placed with a foster family in the south while waiting for a forever family. This family began working with him to understand the ins and outs of a household. Clearly a quick learner, Winchester began picking up skills quickly. Although he has had success in the home, Winchester will, just like any new dog, need time to adjust to the rules and expectations of his forever home. Winchester is excited to go to training with his family. This experience will not only help him create a strong bond with his family, but it will also help him develop the skills he needs to be a good canine citizen. Sweet Roman was dumped in a sheriff's parking lot in the south. With no one around to take responsibility for him, Roman was brought to an animal shelter in town where staff members immediately fell in love with this guy. Although they knew this guy was a good candidate for adoption, no one stepped forward for Roman. Due to endless overcrowding, once his stray hold was up, Roman was on borrowed time. Knowing that Roman deserved every opportunity to thrive in a home of his very own, staff members at the shelter began reaching out for help. When MAGSR heard that Roman needed rescue placement, we knew this boy was the perfect candidate for the MAGSR family. 

Roman is one handsome dude. Typical of young shepherds, he is curious, energetic, and intelligent. Although very sweet, it does take Roman a little time to adjust to new people. It seems that he was not as well socialized as expected at his age. However, with a little time and patience, Roman does enjoy the company of his people. Currently living with an experienced foster family, Roman is benefitting from daily opportunities to socialize with new people and in new environments. Continued socialization will be critical to his success in his forever home. To help build confidence, Roman is also participating in training. Training is giving Roman the opportunity to develop trust and look to the handler for guidance. It is also helping him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Roman is a special guy who is looking for an active family. He will thrive when provided with clear structure, routine, and leadership. Dapper Django found himself at an overcrowded shelter in the south. With the number of homeless pets climbing at alarming rates, shelters are finding that they have no choice but to euthanize for space. Although young and interactive, Django was living on borrowed time. As the days passed, staff members began to worry that he would not make it out alive. Recognizing that this guy deserved a chance to live a life full of tasty treats, adventures, and endless snuggles, a plea went out for rescue placement. Django was simply too sweet to deny. So, our incredible team began collaborating with the shelter, transporters, and vets to get everything in place to move Django forward. We are so excited to have welcomed him to MAGSR. 

Django is a handsome, energetic, and social guy. He loves interacting with his people and other dogs. It is highly evident that this boy was well socialized. As he moves forward, it is critical that his forever family continue this process as Django will need continued experiences to meet with success. In many ways this guy is still puppy-like; he is goofy, playful, and always ready for a new experience. Django has asked that his forever family enjoy adventures and a good laugh. We promised him we would find the perfect match. In addition, we promised that his forever family provides him with the structure, routine, and leadership that will help him thrive. Training will be a key component to Django's success. Not only will it help him create a healthy bond with his family, but it will also help him develop into a stable and confident canine citizen. 

Unfortunately, we do know much about Django's previous life. As a result, we are unsure about his knowledge of the ins and outs of living in a household. However, this boy is eager for his next adventure, we are sure that the structure and routine of his forever home will help him with this next step. The Fall puppies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato (Tator) - were an accidental litter. Raised together with their parents, these dogs have had the chance to learn many doggy social skills. Although their human family enjoyed the puppies, it can be difficult to care for a large litter and challenging to find safe and loving homes. Recognizing that the Fall puppies would be most successful if placed within a breed specific rescue, their family contacted MAGSR. We promised that we would find each pup a safe and loving forever family that would cherish these babies for a lifetime. 

The Fall puppies are very large babies for their age. They are clearly big fans of food. Having spent time outside, these babies love the sights, sounds, and smells of the outdoors. So, they are hoping their forever families love adventures. Although these babies have been socialized well with their doggy family, they have not been exposed to many new people or situations. Socialization is critical to their success. Recognizing that social skills are essential as the Fall puppies move forward, our amazing volunteers are already beginning this process. Learning the ins and outs of living in a household, these babies are learning the joys of endless toys, comfortable beds, and loads of love. As they continue to move forward, all six babies will strive in households that will provide the structure, routine, and leadership that all shepherds crave. 

Although these babies are absolutely adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Puppies will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless antics. With time, training, and patience, all 6 babies - Autumn, Cider, Ember, Maple, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato - will develop into good canine citizens. Handsome Ralph was adored by his family. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they needed to surrender him back to MAGSR. Although this was a heartbreaking decision, they knew that it was in Ralph's best interest to return him. We promised Ralph's family that we would find him the perfect family that would love him for a lifetime. 

Ralph is an intelligent and curious boy. He enjoys exploring the world around him and is often busy making sure he doesn't miss out on anything in his environment. He has an excellent nose, particularly when it comes to treats. Really, who doesn't love treats? Having lived in a loving home, Ralph understands many of the ins and outs of the household. He is housebroken and is respectful in the home. However, as is true of all new family members, he will need time, patience, and structure when adjusting to his forever family. A playful guy, Ralph loves romping around and playing with a favorite plush stuffy. When everyone settles down in the house, Ralph loves to snuggle with his people. He is looking for a forever family that will provide him with structure, routine, and leadership. Although Ralph already knows a few basic commands, training will go a long way with Ralph. Additional training will not only help him create a strong, healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him become a good canine citizen.
